having people from the private sector in an economic team has not always worked in the developing world especially Nigeria.all they do is front run for their own private businesses which is counter productive.Dangote ,otedola etal who were in Jona and yaraduas team only served their own interests by getting all sorts of funny waivers. brodalikeme: In my opinion this is not a very good economic team. An economic team should comprise of people in government and the private sector. Also, why is this so called economic team quiet and not proactive? A lot of things has being happening based on speculation and not policies from the government. |

Hello Henmaris, can i ask in which sector one can get survival jobs with the first aid certification, Thank you. henmaris: Hello everyone, Its a month today since I arrived Canada and would like to share my observation/experience so far.Canada is a very nice country with friendly people.I'm based in Edmonton;for those of u whose destination is Edmonton, the first and smartest possible tip of getting a survival job on arrival is obtaining a first aid certificate as soon as u get here. Its a 2days course and I did that just 3days after arriving Canada and got a job 2 weeks later. Its an asset for most jobs. There are public libraries in the cities. As a beginner if u don't yet have internet connection at home you can always go to the library to browse and apply for jobs.U apply for most jobs online and are called up for an interview if u meet their requirements.U can also walk into some offices and submit your resume. Regarding housing, houses are quite expensive especially looking at it as a new immigrant who just relocated without a job yet but the good news is bills are inclusive in the rents except electricity and its quite easy getting a survival job which u can earn up to to 18$an hour.I got an apartment two weeks after arriving.U can get an apartment between 750-900$ (1 bedroom). Cost of living is very expensive so as soon as u arrive its necessary to learn how to shop wisely. At the start get the basics and with time u will live the kind of life u want after all Canada is a country without limitations and u can pursue your highest dream for as long as u stay focus and are smart enough to follow ur dreams. There is no discrimination,it may exist but its minimal and u r hired as long as u qualify for a job.
In fact, for everyone still in the waiting process, I wish u all the best, patience is the key and u will definitely get your hearts desire soonest. For those of u who will be coming to Edmonton, should u need any advice u can always pm me and I'll gladly help. Best of luck to FSW APPLICANTS AND THOSE IN THE EXPRESS ENTRY POOL. Good day |

Oga NAPTU , you really are an encyclopedia on Nigerias not too distant past, your post brought back memor[es of something i had always been curious about. Babangida used a pullman 600 stretch during his tenure,i wonder where that car is and if it still belongs to the Nigerian government. Those cars ooze class and history, if i was in authority i would recommend it as an official state car to be used during ceremonial periods. not the gleaming brand new benzes which have to be changed every few years. naptu2: The Prince and Princess were offered the use of State House Marina, but they chose to stay aboard the Royal Yacht Brittania, which was moored at Marina (across the road from State House). They were also offered the use of the Mercedes 600 Pullman (W100), but they chose to use one of two Daimler stretched limousines that are usually parked aboard the Royal Yacht (they also used British High Commission's Range Rovers).

This report is most likely true,in another forum on cars which i belong ,there was an observation by some car buffs that the current car which he uses is not the mercedes benz S GUARD which the Nigerian president normally uses but an after market one armored by INKASS in the US,the argument then was that the new 2015 S GUARD was not yet available and the one being used was bought as a stop gap until the proper ones were delivered.Methinks he should continue with status quo for now as the cost is high and the ones Jonathan used(if he didnt carry them all away )are still decent enough. |

owobokiri: Dude has been carrying on as if he is the president of Northern Nigeria and not that of the whole Nigeria. Unashemedly clannish from the get-go, this man is too steaped in the parochial politics of the past to be the vehicle to drive us into the future. Have you noticed also that on his visits to Niamey and Ndjamena, he travelled with ALL northern contigent then flew to Germany and South Africa with an APC contingent bereft of any eastern representatitive! Jonathan never tried that! Always making sure that his contigent cut across both Nigeria and party. . Buhari didn't even see anything wrong in convening a state security council meeting that was 100% northerners! Before our very eyes, this guy is quickly morphing up from a Daurra dullard into a Daura disaster. when did minimah and Amosu become northerners? |

When Dr Goodluck Jonathan was buying them to replace the old jet he was distructively criticized and was called all sorts of derogative names but thank God that it is now befitting to our President Buhari. Know that words are not cheap and we will account for any single evil word we have spoken one day before Almighty God. Again, whatsoever a man sow same he will reap someday. NAF1 was bought by Obasanjo towards the end of his tenure but was first used by Yaradua,It was not bought by Jonathan. |

spades: The Senate President is a British citizen having been born in the UK.
If the Nigerian constitution prohibits membership for people who have sworn allegiance to another nation which is a prerequisite for getting a British passport, did the senate president renounce his British citizenship?
see below:
40. - (1) No person shall be qualified for selection as a Senator or election to the House of Representatives- (a) save for the purposes of selection as a Senator by the Governor-General, if he has voluntarily acquired citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country;
...just curious! He truly is a British citizen but he is not disqualified from holding office in Nigeria because he was born there and did not have to swear allegiance. The rule applies to those who went on to acquire the foreign citizenship after birth by themselves either by naturalization or by any other means. |

OGA TANOID,The UK Prime Minister does not use Rolls Royce Cars, the PMs official car has always been a Jaguar and the occasional Range Rover. |

Politics › Re: The Truth About Yoruba Obas And Their Involvement In Politics by chatterly: 7:36pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
You forgot to add that the first Governor of the western Region was Sir Adesoji Aderemi the late ooni of Ife who was a great supporter of the AG. barnaby04: Inasmuch as i dont want to be drawn into the statement of the Oba of Lagos on Igbos residing in Lagos to support his annointed candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Alot had been said on the issue, but i like to make a clarification to those that argued heavily that the Oba has no business in politics as a traditional ruler.
Since time immemorial, prominent Yoruba Obas have always been involved in politics, Since the first republic when Nigeria practiced Parliamentary system of government, Obas have usually been involved in local politics.
Prominent educated and well exposed Yoruba Obas were appointed into the Executive and Legislative arms of the Western Regional Government.
Notable among those are the late Oba Sir Olateru Olagbegi, the Olowo of Owo, who was appointed a Minister without portfolio in the cabinet of Sir Obafemi Awolowo and also a leading member of the House of chiefs.
Even in the second republic, the late Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Iyiola Matanmi, served as Commissioner without portfolio under the government of the late Bola Ige.
Having said all these, i believed the Oba of Lagos did not act contrary to what his predecessors had done in the past by playing active roles in the political situation of their domains.
Whoever has a contrary view to this should please go back to read the history of the Western Nigeria Region properly
Yours truly,
MAOB. |

The problem with the hummer (hiace)bus and its chinese cousins(IVM etc) is the NIGERRIAN DRIVER.i concede that they have a tendency to burn out when involved in accidents but that conclusion is not scientific because most buses involved in accident's these days are hiace buses only they are the most widely used long distance buses. These same buses are used in the Middle east,Australia,South Africa and Japan without much issue but the way these buses are driven in Nigeria is a clear invitation to disaster. These same buses are widely as staff buses and school buses within our major cities, how many fatalities have we recorded?.My take is that the FRSC must find a way to regulate driving practice in Nigeria. 1.The 100 kph speed limit must be enforced especially for commercial vehicles 2.Driving against traffic must be heavily legislated against. 3.Overtaking on the slow lane or driving slowly on the fast lane should be banned. These are all existing laws but nobody bothers to enforce |
