I knew them in IB in the mid 80's and her letter explains many contradictions of those years. She was factual when she says they were moved to state schools(Abadina college in U.I to be precise) and these were obviously upper class kids who still had some nice benz cars.I was probably too young to know what was going on.But its all joy ,at least she can look back thankfully and say she is a better person for all these.To crown it all the old man is now 87 years old and still going strong.Good Story |

kITATITA:I am not a PDP supporter never have and never will ,but appointing FFK into the campaign team is the greatest blunder any campaign organization can make. FFK has a lot of nuisance value and he is best left as a free agent.This is a national election involving Muslims ,Christians,Northerners,Southerners etc. FFK is a known antagonist of Islam and the North even to a large extent the South East.Unless the PDP is conceeding that it has a sectional agenda,they should have kept FFK out and allow him to continue running his rants but protecting him from any prosecution. My major problem with Jonathan has to do with the management of the economy.At its peak the OBJ administration did not sell Crude @ more than 65 usd per barrell and was still able to save almost 100 billion USD in the excess crude and foreign reserve account.This Government enjoyed over 4 years of $100+ oil prices with absolutely nothing to show for it except 1960s tech trains,substandard airport renovations and new private jets. While we are rejoicing,fellow oil producing countries have amassed huge reserves that will make them weather this current storm without any major issues. As we speak Saudi Arabia has over 800billion USD in savings(according to Prince Waleed of Saudi Arabia in a recent CNN interview)a bulk of that money was saved in the last 4 years.Russia has over $400 Billion,Brazil:$375 Billion,Algeria:$192 Billion,Libya:$120 billion and we have only abt $37Billion .It gets really scary when you look at the sovereign wealth funds which these countries have apart from reserves.I will list some: UAE:1.1 Trillion USD Norway: 893Billion USD |

Beautiful idea,at least it would create a green area just coming into Lagos. Its been done before,for those who are familiar with Ibadan,the site of the new Palms shopping Mall on Ring Road was the main Ibadan refuse dump up until the late 90s. We are waiting 13 Likes |

Hello all, As many women who are going in to the US to give birth should consider using JFK. My wife got into New York on Monday via Virgin Atlantic,flight landed @ 11 p.m .it was a breeze and no documents were asked from her,she declared the funds that she had(over $10k)but it was not counted because the guy @ secondary inspection said there was no point counting since she had already declared the funds.She was only asked why she was having her babies in the US(our first child was born there 4 years ago and her POE was LA) and she replied that she wanted better facilities than what was available in Nigeria.Her boxes were not opened,she was asked if she had any food and she replied in the negative.In all this we should not discount God's favour.MMIA was a breeze since she had already scanned her fit to fly certificate to Virgin Atlantic special assistance department some days prior .This thread has been extremely beneficial because for our first child she travelled @ 4 months and was not showing,had no doctors appointment or major cash but this time around @ 7.5 months we had to be prepared.All the information about getting a doctor,informing the embassy about change in plans,amount of cash to carry,friendly POE's were gotten from this thread. My two cents to this is that "how did we get here".There is nothing new in what iyabo has said about her father,its alll there in the public domain,what is new is a daughter coming out to pour out her heart about the deeds of her father and his ilk regardless of the consequences.They are all the same,as she said they have left Nigeria worse than they met it when they were born in the 1930 and 40s.We the people have turned ourselves into animals merely concerned about personal survival at the expense of the common good.i ask myself this question all the time"what am i doing here"of what use is money and financial success when the society is falling apart ??>let everyone read the letter with an open mind and forget it was written by an iyabo obasanjo,It is an indictment on all of us |

Let us continue to deceive ourselves,I recently came back into the country via the revamped MMIA and to be sincere the upgrading has been totally senseless.What is the point of renovating the airport when the customer experience is worse than before?.For those that travel internationally particularly through E finger you will notice that the elevators that take you down into the immigration hall still does not work and if and when it works it is still too narrow for the number of people that use it,one would have expected that the place would have been opened up to allow better flow of traffic,the new immigration hall is a total disgrace,the ceilings are already dropping off and the cheap Chinese finishing used shows all through.I ventured into the newly constructed toilets at the arrival hall and I dropped a tear,that represents the cheapest quality public toilet I have seen in all my years of travel,the toilets in the departure hall which travelers have complained about for ages is like Sheraton hotel compared to the new ones,cheap Chinese toilets and tiles all through,tiles already peeling off and toilet bowls broken.what about the new conveyor belts,they are shorter than the old ones and travelers do not have enough access to it,you would have to wait for at least 30 to an hour when the crowd has reduced before you can comfortably retrieve your luggage,the belt is also situated too near the wall and this means that about 20% of the whole surface of the belt is useless.I can go on and on and I expect the usual abuses.I doesn't really matter to me as this is a public forum and u can expect all sorts,but methinks that a project of that magnitude should have been awarded to the original builders of the airport(strabag)who would have at least kept to the original standard of the build.I shudder to think what the airport will be like in 2 years time with the sub standard job being done there.I rest my case 1 Like |

dont know where these pple are getting their facts from,fashola uses a. range rover (the same one he has been using since he came into office in 07.Maybe he has more than one (backup as they call it) that i dont know.but to say that he bought jeeps for N600m in 2011 is simply rubbish.Bullet proof cars are expensive world over and they usually dont last for very long because of the extra armouring (to me its like converting RHD to LHD)the cars are usually stripped to the barest and rebuilt thereby altering the aerodynamics and other features in the car. |

A curious argument that i read is that where were the other family members when ojukwu was fighting for those properties,the natural answer should be why were the properties seized in the first place?.The properties were seized because of the the ikemba and his fighting for it does not make them his own just a restitution to the family .thats all. |
