HealthRe: Doctors Share Their Experiences With Nigerian Patients by chayoski(f): 2:23pm On Nov 29, 2019
TONYE001:
It is sad when people speak out of ignorance. What do you call "real research"? Oh, you are now insinuating that doctors don't do research.

Really? So, what do you call the life-saving research works carried out by doctors that helped refine health care delivery that you now enjoy? In your thinking, "coming up with drugs" is a yardstick in defining what a research should be? You mentioned neuroscientists. Lolz. Really?

Truth is, until this thread, I never really knew the level of hatred people have for doctors. Most times, I argue with my colleagues that such hatred does not really exist; I've taken my time to read through the posts here and maybe there really is a certain degree of hatred from nonmedics.

What have we not seen here? Now someone comes out boldly to say doctors don't do "real research.." Haba.

See friends, Nigerian doctors do a whole lot. A whooooole lot. People don't really know. People are just ungrateful. After reading about the numerous experiences of doctors, you still came up with this? Doctors work overtime with no extra pay, they work in very harsh conditions, they improvise, they use their resources, their lives are at risk (remember Ebola), they work with passion and love. They put the patient first before their wives, children, friends et al., I haven't seen my wife and kids for over three months!....and you still managed to come up with this....why? Because of a few bad eggs?

Do you imply that there are no bad eggs in your profession? What's your profession, brother?

This whole thing is depressing.
You shouldn't for once feel depressed over these comments. Even if you do, just remind yourself that there are a lot of humans who just come online to type jargons. Some have lost their loved one(s) to death due to some lousy acts by health care workers, so they choose to hold on to sentiments and unleash their bitterness at every opportunity. While others are actually just catching fun by being hateful. A lot has been said on this thread and my summary is, there actually are bad doctors, not talking about them not even knowing their job, but their really poor attitude, likewise there are good doctors. This profession and others are made up of humans. So they are either good or bad. To those who have deceased folks out of the carelessness of doctors, be comforted but please do not generalise. Personally, I have only heard and have never encountered a bad doc, all have been really amazing as against what I hear about them. Doctors reading this, you should be proud seeing all of these criticisms, it shows how relevant you are. Just keep doing your best but abeg it takes you to be alive to "save" lives, so learn to take care of yourselves.

What's the big deal in sitting separately for just some minutes? You mean at her request he should have gotten down to perch beside her? Come on! Why do some ladies have this mentality of everything revolving around them. She was selfish, rude, and childish. EOD!
Thank you. Same girls will tell you they don't love their men granting all their requests, it makes them look weak. Again, they come with the opposite. Anyone that supports the girl, based on this story told is just being...don't want to insult anyone sha. RomanceRe: She Dumped Me While On A Date, Did I Really Offend Her By Doing This?! by chayoski(f): 2:47pm On Oct 22, 2019
OladimejiRufai:
OP, what's on your mind about the girl?

Do you want to chop her dodo (or maybe you're already 'chopping' it) and leave her in the name of girlfriend?

If yes, better cut off that thing you call a relationship now if you don't want God to punish you! angry

Or you want to marry her?

If yes, then I think marriage with such a lady will probably be dangerous or problematic.

Please, we've been hearing news about what women do to men. We've heard the ones too about what men do to women. So I'm not being biased here.

But since we are talking about the former here, let's face it.

We don't want you to join the list and come lament here about how a lady ruined your life.

from what you explained, she appears as rude, insensitive, arrogant, having ego and so on and so forth.

Such a lady, if that is how she truly is, will have no respect for you or your feelings. Will have no regard for your relatives and friends. And she is the type that will be quick to start keeping malice or even pack out of the house after a little misunderstanding judging from her decision to go back home after the taxi trip.

So beware! there are a myriad of ladies out there. I'm not saying you should just break up like that. But try to carefully study her by giving her time to come to her senses, reconciling with her while watching out for any traits that will suggest that she can never change or will hardly change. And if there is such, My guy, run!

women are too much to be begging just one out of them to become your responsibility.

Well, I only gave u that advise that you should try to reconcile because I don't want to sound inconsiderate.

But if it were to be me, we are done!!!! angry

Modified: And the lady below me has a point that little things like what you refused for your girlfriend, some people take it serious!

But brother, a woman who takes such a thing serious to the extent that she acted the way she acted, has serious Ego issues.

It could be that she's pained because she asks you to come and you refuses the request. Just like how someone who is of higher authority will ask someone of lower rank to do something and will be refused, so the person of higher authority starts feeling ridiculed and disrespected and starts acting up!

If that's the case here, then what do you call that? What does she think of herself for her to start acting to that
extreme because u refused her request?

That's how you identify people with ego issues!

So you could have been wrong with what you did (a little) but for her to react that way.. . abeg, be careful with such a lady
I would grant you all your heart desires if I had the powers to. For me, only for how she spoke to the driver, I'd start thinking of ending the relationship. I can tolerate so many things but lack of respect is one I'm yet to learn to... Yeah, op, some people love romance and PDA and your fiancee happens to be one probably, she's got the right to be offended on that ground, but talking to the driver in that manner is transfer of aggression. If that driver were to be your friend who happens to be wealthier, I bet you, she wouldn't dare. She may likely even join the conversation.

Epidural is an anaesthesia given at your sinal cord to ease labour pain.

[quote author=beeijeoma post=83094967]Thank you for enjoying my write up. Yes the thoughts are overwhelming . Fear of labor pain, fear of how to care for the baby , fear of if you will be a good mom. You are not alone it is the same for all FTM. Anytime I start getting scared back then I would just think of all the women that have kids and just be like this person did it, that person did it. Why would my case be different. You just have to push all those thoughts and fear out of your mind.

I am a realist and I don't like sugar coated information just give it to me the way it is. I don't know anything that can ease labor and delivery except epidural . If it is available in your hospital take it. My first two kids was normal delivery while my 3rd was with epidural. The epidural birth was completely pain free in fact I was watching TV till it was time to push. Labor and delivery is painful but it is not unbearable and it only last for some time. Its good to have a family member with you to help rub your back when the contractions come and in your mind just focus on the fact that the baby you have been growing inside you is almost here. As a FTM what surprised me most was not even the labor pain but the pushing part. I just felt the baby would slide out once you get to 10cm cervical dilation. Pushing the baby out is a bit tough as well and you have to get it right. I will do a write up on how to push during labor in a later post. Be strong and yow will be fine

[/quote
A very good write - up Ma'am. Yes, I could check it up on google and even still will, but I'd like you to throw more light on Epidural birth you mentioned. Is it synonymous with C.S?

Christianity EtcRe: Father John Chinenye Oluoma: Your Tithe Saves The Needy, You Haven't Robbed God by chayoski(f): 11:22am On Oct 07, 2019
alBHAGDADI:
This is a pure rubbish teaching coming from a Catholic Bishop of gay kingdom.

Where did God order that we should do what this preacher said with our tithe? Nowhere. What God said in Malachai 3:10 is that we should bring the tithe to his house. He didn't say we should branch somewhere else with it.

Yes, the pastor's idea seems like a reasonably brilliant and kind one, but that doesn't make it right in God's eyes. Remember that the way man thinks is different from the way God thinks.

Man thinks it is a good thing to give the tithe to someone in need of it. But where did God say such about tithe? Nowhere. He only said to bring it to his house and from there it is distributed to the needy.

Think of it this way: You are on your way to the hospital with 100k to pay for your child's medical bills. Suddenly you found a needy man. Be honest with yourself, will you give the money to the needy man to the detriment of your child in the hospital?

I can bet you won't. So why do you now think it is right to give your tithe to the needy man? Remember, it is God's money and you have no right to decide how to help God spend it, especially when he gave you no such order.

Look, don't let people bamboozle you weird scenarios like the one given by the preacher. Always stand by God's command. The tithe is his, and the only thing you can do with it is to take it to his house, nowhere else.

They may even use your child as an example, saying what if your child is sick and the money needed for treatment is equivalent to the tithe money you have, which is your last dime.

What will I say in this case? Give that money to God because it is his. At this point many will be kicking against me. Little do they know that they are kicking against Jesus who said...

Mathew 10:37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Why do you think Abraham is referred to as a friend of God today? Because he obeyed God by proceeding to sacrifice his son Isaac as commanded by God. He didn't think twice. But people who are not worthy of Jesus are the ones who will disobey him by doing the thoughts of their heart instead of his word.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Hey Mr! Stop it. You talking about God's ways not being our ways, what makes you sure that your say on this is God's way. What if it is wrong, or what if both are wrong or correct? Jesus came to fulfil the law not abolish it and He summarised it by asking us to Love God and our neighbours as ourselves. Helping an accident victim is loving God, helping your child instead is loving yourself first for Charity begins at home. Just do what you do and let God be the one to judge who pleases him. The intent of your action is what is basic.

Integrity in our society does not pay in the short term due to corrupt tendencies of Nigerians in general. But in the long run, if you're diligent, it gives you rest of mind. Where I served in Osun state, everyone must pass. Non serious set of students who knows nothing more than having sex and riding okada. They only came to school because it was free. You fail students, you enter wahala with principal. Teachers having sex with students anyhow. Even some corpers were not left out.

I was wondering if it wasn't the same public school that I went to, though in another state. Teachers teaching students during WAEC. The list is endless.

But the principal will never forget me. I went toe to toe with her on the issue of passing all students in my subject and I 'won.'

Secondary school education especially in public schools is now trash.

The exam malpractice we are talking about started with the officials of the exam bodies themselves. I witnessed Waec and Neco exams that was written this year. I wanted to trace what was happening in the educational sector. I was shocked to find out that the officials of these exam bodies are responsible for exam malpractices. Whenever an official is send to a school, what the school does is to pay him a certain amount of money and students are free to cheat. When an exam bodies like Waec and Neco can not screen who they employed, tell me how will it stopped. Gone are the days when police and other security personnel were sent to schools to monitor exam malpractices. Not only in Secondary School, it also happens in the University. Cheating in Nigeria is called wisdom and you that cannot do it is likened to a fool. Oga, I have seen a lot in this country. I cannot type anymore. I once taught in a private school and due to failure of these lazy students, I was forced by the management to resign. Today, I hate the people of Nigeria. Nigerians are very corrupt. Like Jean Jacques Rousseau said: Leave them the way they are and they will leave you the way you are. God is blessing me little by little today and I will never force education on any student again in my life. If I am chanced again to teach, I will never teach in a school that has S S3 or is Waec and Neco accredited.
I had a similar experience at the school I served. Where no child is allowed to fail, however you want to do it. They later brought a plan for a make - up test abi exam, even with that, some still failed and scores were just fixed for them, reason is that their parents spend a lot of money on their fees to pass and not fail. Walahi things are really bad and getting worse by the day. But please Sir, Nigerians are corrupt but do not generalise it. There are still incorrupt, reputable and disciplined Nigerians.

davodyguy:
There's so much ambiguity in what the OP lifted and dumped here.

I'll simply as follows.

1. VAT is to be paid by the beneficiary of a service to the service provider. Good example. DSTV or Startimes subscription may actually be ₦1900. But they need to collect VAT on behalf of FIRS. Hence your subscription would then be ₦1900+(5% of ₦1900)= ₦1995 per month. But in most cases the companies round up the figure to ₦2000.

2. After DSTV collects the VAT from you the subscriber, they're not to include that ₦95 as part of their income, rather they must remit to FIRS(Federal Inland Revenue Services)

3. I'll use myself as an example. I'm a consultant in Real Estate and Legal Professions. Hence, when I charge for a service or court case, I must collect VAT from my client. Here's it. If I'm to charge ₦5,000,000 for a case/service, I'll simply ask the client to pay ₦5,000,000+(5% of ₦5,000,000)= ₦5,250,000.

At the end of the month, I must remit the extra ₦250,000 to FIRS.

4. All companies registered either Business Name, PLC or LTD, they must collect VAT from their clients or consumers of their services and remit same to FIRS.

5. The day you register your company, same day CAC send your details to FIRS and FIRS generates what's called TIN(Tax Identification Number). That number is like and accout. Hence, when you pay or you don't pay, FIRS will just go to your account to see your balance.

6. Can you lie to FIRS that you didn't make money? Yes you can, but you'll be caught. Cos FIRS will go to your bank to show them your Statement of Account, with that you can be sanctioned or jail for either tax avoidance or tax evasion
Explicit. Thanks!

So how come we have been having unprotected sex yet she is negative and have never taken the vaccine
You don't have to believe it to make it a fact that Hepatitis B is transmissible through unprotected sex. Good a thing you have commenced treatment, because just like HIV, HB takes years to manifest. Well, as to a possible reason your wife is negative, aside her having taken vaccine, if at all, it is possible that your hepatitis B viral load is still way below the benchmark at which you could infect another. Just continue with your medication to suppress it until you're good. Be good!
