Kandiikane ^have you heard of what he has been doing to that country.@^^ . No I don't . As bad as he is, he is better than Jawara who did nothing for the country . Africa is blessed with bad leadership everywhere . |
Lillyveezy @chiekh,can u pls put religion aside & look @ the credibility of the action?at this time & age, marrying a 22yr old is nothing but an abuse!very soon he will marry his great grand daughter, afterall his religion permits him.Does his religion rob him of moral reasoning?@^^ . Where in planet earth is marrying a 22year old female considered/seen as "abuse"?. She's a grown adult/woman and knows what she's doing! She's probably greedy and definitely not even a muslim like him . |
1025 abeg, what time is real madrid match jare?@^^ You are on point. and Your sense of humour is boundless indeed ![]() |
Kandiikane Lol!@^^ Why are you angry? You are not one of his wives. He is living according to his religious belief(Islam) You may be angry because of economic waste of national resources(money) and perhaps bad example to young men in Africa. So what is it that is annoying you? ![]() |
PhysicsQED Second, Europe is divided mostly (but not exclusively or perfectly) along "ethnic" lines. So apparently those "inter-ethnic" wars you're referring to were for a reason.@^^ Gbam You are very correct!!! ![]() Europeans have managed to create/mould "Nations" out of so called "inter=ethnic" wars and impose one(single) national language and a times culture as in the UK, Germany, Sweden, France and Spain et al. In Nigeria/Africa we have not managed to "subjugate" other ethnic groups/impose a single national language. Only Ethiopia, Eritrea and perhaps Somalia when they get their "Act" together, have the potential of creating Nation states like the Europeans have. The "tragedy" of Africa is our earlier "empires" were benevolent and did not impose forcefully their language on the conquered lands/subjects just like the Arab invaders have done in North Africa. |
PhysicsQED The problem is, Africans, for whatever reason, are currently more nepotistic than other groups. Some people just can't play by the rules.@^^^ Well, Nepotism happens where persons have a heightened sense of obligation to their own group irrespective of others. It is almost akin to being "tribal". It is very apparent amongst "Africans" because there are no cohesive "nation" states in Africa yet, besides perhaps, the North African countries and may be "Ethiopia" in the making. We have many "nations" within Countries such as NIgeria, so loyalty/nepotism for cronies or group is inevitable/expected. It appears that most of us have taken it for granted that as "Nigerians", we are a "Nation" but are we? We are in a Country without any emotional connection whatsoever beyond our own "small"/mini national/ethnic groups. Presently, there is nothing to engender national pride/attachment to the place called Nigeria other than the fact that some of our people(land of ancestors) were born in Naija. Merit obviously will be expected/required within our "mini" nations but definitely not outside- Centre/cities. Rules only apply where we have/share a common "national" world view and aspirations borne out of collective desire to do the right thing because it is good for everyone irrespective of your background/ethnicity/gender. We know the right thing to do but our inherent loyalty to "group" beclouds our judgement to do what is right for the public good instead of the small family or ethnic good. We cannot really blame anybody but our LAZY, Wicked and Unimaginative/Uncreative power elite(politicians. They do not desire to build/create a Nation out of the country called Nigeria. Chaos is profitable and less demanding on brain work for a tiny minority hence nepotism/corruption thrives. Merit demands a certain modicum of Standards or Measurements agreed upon by the society/group. There are no such well defined standards in most African countries. |
jp philips Nnaji owns a company that is qualified to bid, the president asks for some shares from the company, Nnaji obliges.@^^You are on point! Gbam . I am surprised NLs are not picking on that instead they are animated about the man's(Nnaji) personal wealth/integrity or not. Nigerians are easily duped and deceived because we are so gullible and refuse to read and understand properly. I think it is an indictment of the President but ethnic/religious warriors will not let anybody ask the appropriate questions given the Op |
Missy_B Mean!@^ What"s "Mean" about what I wrote? I truly believe and stand by my statement. She is truly Gorgeous like most truly beautiful South Sudanese I know. I know that a lot of Nigerians have hang ups about "dark" skins etc but that's their wahala not mine . I am a man so I know what I like or do not like . Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I challenge anybody who thinks that they are better looking to post their photograph and let's judge who's more intelligent, pretty/beautiful, taller et al than the current South Sudanese- Miss Africa(world). I am happy and proud that my choice for the title was successful. She's a true reflection/representation of Africa and not some washed out, bleaching, false/fake-brazilian hair wearing females that populate Naija cities. It is ugly and sad! Naija babes are ok but they should ease up on the "fakeness". It is not attractive |
Kay 17 Very daft. Why would the Central Bank put into consideration for its fiscal/monetary policies, how petty traders and bus conductors deal with change??!!@^^ Bros, I think you are definitely wrong on the highlighted above. They are very much the main part of the real economy of Nigeria . They are the majority of the buyers sellers and consumers of our "poor"/third world economy hence CASH is indispensable but vital for daily survival. They are Nigerians and in the majority too .Deflation rarely will happen in an "unsophisticated"/low- tech economy like Nigeria. We do not have good regulatory institutions/mechanisms/tools to control anything within the country let alone human economic activities of the ordinary person on the street. Prices go up and rarely go down in our kind of economy. Please go check out the price of "pure water", roasted plantain, ground nuts, mama put and transportation in our cities/towns against what the prices were pre subsidy removal brou ha ha. Cash is king in Naija and we are not going cashless anytime soon in a place energy and communication are seen as luxury instead of the base on which a modern/ancient economies are built on. |
Op Represented at the world stage this year by the ever gorgeous and stunning Atong Demach, South Sudan managed to create history by winning the coveted Miss World Africa prize, also known as the “African Continental Queen of Beauty”, on their first ever shot at the world title.@^^ She's truly gorgeous and flawless . Her skin tone is so beautiful, smooth and flawless as most South Sudanese are anyway. Trust me I know . |
justwise Don't mind those shouting UK can not arrest him, the UK has a law permitting them to arrest him inside the embassy, they are going to exercise that power if every diplomat routes failed to resolve it.@^^ Let's hypothetically imagine that the Assange incident/embassy is that of "USA, France, Russia, Israel, Iran, Canada, Australia, China, South Africa, India or Brazil. Do you think that the so called UK law will be applicable? UN and even EU binding rules/laws actually over-ride national laws I think . Nations/governments can choose to ignore international conventions/laws as demonstrated severally by Israel, USA and Russia because "might is right" but it does not make it right. Bros think about it. It is very tempting indeed for UK to blow hot and cold because Ecuador is not strategically/economically "important" for UK. Any country can have a small caveat in their law books to justify anything depending on your "strength"/place in the world . |
@Op Wnat's the fuzz . When did Nigeria ever become a law abiding place? Crime always pays from the top to the so called bottom. Lootocracy is the norm. Besides, in a perverse way, they are justified . What ever happened to our past/present professional looters? . Nigeria is slowly degenerating to the level of Colombia, Mexico and Guinea Bissau/naco state). The chicken will certainly come home to roust whether we like it or not. Lucky Joe is no fool as most NLs think . |
Kobojunkie Africans need to stop electing dingbats and uneducated touts into office.@^^ Lucky Joe is PHD in zoology fit for animal farm . Maybe, we'll have to re-evaluate our general concept of what "education" is within the African context . You are correct though . |
Lola.luv A woman is in fear when her BF is controlling, she is not confident of herself and her abilities.@^^ Sincerely, that's not a healthy relationship but two "sick" people trying to give a new meaning to the word " Relationship". I guess it is pervasive in Naija and other places too because of the relative powerlessness of women plus the "misguided" mentality of our society/ women- forever fixated on "Marriage" as the beginning/end hence a perceived "good"/solvent man is Ok despite the inherent dangers as outlined in your post. It is terrible/sad indeed. It is not usually based on clear headed "objective" love or reality. It is shocking because most couples are unable to see clearly nor honestly analyse their motives/intentions in a given potential "relationship". I worry for our collective psyche as a people especially in the affairs of the "heart" or "relationship". You correct though. |
ekt_bear One day, there will be a Rwanda-style genocide of these Fulanis in Nigeria.@^^ Waoo just my thought exactly! . They might just get their wish sooner than envisaged. I guess Nigerians are living in very dangerous times and the Fulani are inadvertently courting notoriety and helping to hasten that imminent danger that certainly will engulf them. Tragically, some of these clueless Fulani are not exactly Nigerians(Nigeriens) but employees of rich Alhajis from the North of the country, who do not care about the misdeeds of these herds men. Iam fearful to think that the "big revenge" will probably start in the Eastern parts of the country. It is not going to be pretty indeed. The concept/relationship to Land/farmland in the East is like nowhere else in the country hence my fears that the Fulani are treading on very dangerous grounds. It is not Plateau or Benue or even Kwara states. I worry for our so called clueless/inept/weak government at every level in Naija. |
Billyonaire This thread is divisive. The thread should be "Two Youths murdered in Enugu". If anyone commits a crime, the law takes its course via the legal channels. No one should keep saying 'Fulani kill Ibo', it brings nothing but jungle justice.@^^ Thank you for your very noble sentiments . Can you fault anyone for wanting retaliation? If there is no response from the community then they might as well surrender and die like rats in their own land without pity. |
@Op Is your wife a wild animal that you need to Tame her? Is she an unruly dog that you need to dominate her? Na wa oo for some Naija mentality of 2012* SMH |
darmie x i thought apartheid was over. they wanted to say self defence, death toll is now 34, i wonder how they will spin this one.@^^ Sister, for where ? they'll spin it albeit very crudely of course. The people are inured to bad news/actions too It is a national culture crude(violence). |
snydergp As a soldier or should I say former soldier yes I would have shot them and with the tipe of weoponry we use more would have died.@^^ ;DThat's clearly the mindset of "crude Power" of someone who has never been shot at but feels that a panga, spear or machete wielding protester is so threatening as to elicit the above boast. Bro it is not right to think like "Rambo" wannabe. it is dehumanising indeed. Your SADf training etc has definitely taken its toll on you even if you say that you have not actually been involved in "action". My friend, it is not "brave" or "sexy" nor good to think the way you do. It is obvious that you have never been at the receiving end of brute power or belong to that group of people whose existence has been defined/fixed(blacks) for ever because they are weak and Powerless/not empowered. Yes blacks are now in power(political) but has SA really changed? Please don't preach patience/understanding and restraint to me . Please review your attitudes. You have certainly imbibed the SA culture of violence wholesale. It is unhealthy. Your Psyche is definitely affected negatively perhaps damaged too. It is no wonder there are frequent suicides amongst the European SAs and spousal abuse too. We cannot run away from our past. |
snydergp So you implying that south africa is a sick society. This incident that took place was the first of its kind in SA way are some make believers think that this is a dailly occurence in SA. Yes there are in some areas violent protest where even goverment and public properties are torched by "criminal" acts who uses the genuine concerns of the people as a springboard to do "crime". The majority of south africans are peacefull otherwise there would have been a civil war longtime ago in SA.@ So you glibly say this incident was the first of its kind in SA where the police have mowed people down? Hummm , that's the reason I sincerely worry about our(your) sense of history/collective memory. It is obvious that you are differentiating killing of union persons(civilians) from your(history) past events where numerous massacres have occurred. Nobody doubts that the majority of SAs are "peaceful" but you'll agree with me that your culture of violence and mindset towards law and order, despite her much touted liberal constitution is definitely "abnormal" hence sick is appropriate for such a society where gratuitous violence is very pervasive and now in officialdom Vengeance is seen as appropriate behaviour by so called "police". Terror has always been normal in SA by those in power and victims too. We can all take the moral high ground and use fancy phrases like "criminals", "crime" and "violent" protesters to justify our inherent prejudices and warped mindset inherited from an ugly past/ a not too long ago from the present events . We should be worried, shocked and ashamed of ourselves that we have not learnt anything from our recent past and not try to sweep it under the carpet. The past informs the present attitudes and actions. We cannot deny that fact. Old habits die hard . |
africaunite To answer a question why they were armed, I would start by saying there's no strike in south africa without traditional weapons, its a traditional thing. You can even google search that a south african man especially zulus are inseparable from their traditional weapon, every man has a spear its their tradition, just like every christian has a bible.@^^ You are correct to some extent. It is almost like a "dress code"/accessory if you are going away to a potentially "tense" situation away from home, not necessarily with the intention of using it. It is like our "dagger" carrying/wearing cattle fulani herdsmen and the Kanuri (Bornu state) of Nigeria. The difference is that our herdsmen have dangerously graduated to guns whereas the South Africans have not quite gone outside their traditional cultural weaponery/"dress" code to match the dangers ever present in the SA domain. Some of them actually have modern weapons(guns) but that is "illegal"/small number and culturally not "cool" style-wise . |
andrewza Trust me yes you will shoot (or maybe freeze up I don't know you) but you will not pleasure. If you do you are not normal. I have trained to kill and I pray I never have to use that skill. Don't get me wrong I support what the cops did but they should never been in the position to be forced to kill. So before bragging about kill people remember it is not like the tv or games it will stay with you. I know growen men who have nightmares because of what they did. At the time they felt joy but it stays with you and changes a man.@^^ hi Andrewza, how are you? remember our conversations on Mandela/Mugabe? ![]() Anyway, your sentiments are quite correct. You'll have to understand that the Nigerian experience is usually about our untrained police men/women beating/flogging us like animals and a times some rogue ones amongst them will let off "accidental" rounds on one or two individuals at "Check points" because a few "Naira/bribe" was not given to them adequately enough. Secondly, the pseudo-"bravado" you see Nigerians exhibit outwardly, is nothing but what it is- mere noise. We are inherently a cowardly/docile people compared to other Africans. Trust me I've met a lot of Africans from other places in Africa and abroad too. They are generally quieter but they have the heart/capacity to do harm swiftly if provoked. We are not as brave as we appear to foreigners who misguidedly equate noisiness and assume that we are generally aggressive . We are not. Only some of our citizens from the Northern parts of Nigeria come close to being brave/aggressive in a "negative" sense of the word. Besides very few Nigerians have actually seen the ugliness of War except during the Nigerian civil war(Biafra) which sadly is almost lost/forgotten by those actively involved in it let alone the rest of Nigerians that never witnessed the horrors of War outside the Eastern part of the country(Biafra). Many Nigerians have not witnessed a person being killed/shot at in anger or in war situation either, especially our "internet warriors". They'll never appreciate your stance or understand your view point. Believe me seeing the harrowing effects of the ugliness of war/deaths changes anyone forever and it is not an experience anybody will wish on their worst enemy. Bro, I quite understand your view point on the subject because I have actually been in your position/ witnessed such ugliness/wickedness. People who have never been in your position, rarely will ever understand that shooting at a human being or having witnessed such events are not good for our Psyche at all. It is not "easy" if you're not a "psychopath" to kill another human being. I sincerely worry about our people and what we are about to become unintentionally. Perhaps tv and too much "Rambo" like films have taken hold of our collective imagination/warped desires to do harm to others. it is very shocking and sad. |
binger This babe is beautiful!!!!!! Charisma,carriage,curves,gait,beauty...99.9%.I never new yorubas are this beautiful. She is an IED waiting to explode.more of her in future@^^ Stop being small minded ![]() |
Sagamite They could have done all that if they were well trained and equipped.@^^ Yes if well trained but old habits and attitudes are difficult to shift especially in a "psychotic"/"damaged" society like SA. 8-year olds will not be legally in employment let a lone be unionised to go on strike/rampage. In any case I doubt it if the SA police will be so foolish to hack 8-year olds - it is not unheard off in SA history though - killing school kids and women would not be difficult for a "sick" society. They are already inured to such violence and psychically prepared for such outrages. it is in the nature of the society anyway. |
Sagamite Secondly, despite the several murderfest in Nigeria (especially and predominantly in the North), I am yet to see or hear of one single person being punished for any.@^^They are invisible so no arrest yet of the real "actors" let alone punish anybody. In any case, some persons are perceived to be somehow "above" the law or perhaps beyond reproach. As for another killing "feast" within the next 6 months is a no "Brainer" as our yankee people dey "talk am' . We are truly in trouble as we do not have any purposeful government at the local, state and central level at all . No country can function or depend on good Luck alone -pun intended . |
. No I don't
