Sometimes, we use our hands to cause problems for ourselves. Why didnt you declare that you wanted to have your baby at once instead of vacation. Its obvious you have lied about your intensions. Your visa may be cancelled if you write to them. I suggest you travel for vacation first before going for birthing if time is on your side. Gudluck! |

Etfash: You are welcome to the thread. The answer to your question is simple 'Not true'. Even though any of those might give you an advantage, you don't need them to qualify for the Express Entry Programme.
Cheers and joy! Thank you very much Etfash. I really do appreciate. From what i have read so far, below are the steps to follow before applying *Write the IELTS *Send degree result to WES for evaluation - once i get their feedback *Fill out the online application - and wait to get invited Please , let me know if i am in order so that we can start first thing first. Also, what other things do i need to get ready? I know proof of funds is one. Thank you again |

Hello Everyone, I must say, this indeed is the best forum everrrrrrr...Congrats to you Zandora and God bless you. I hope to someday be in Canada and continue work as a Banker.
First my story goes this way - (Married with a child). I just received an admission letter to a uni for Masters 3weeks ago. I was super excited, later that day, i sat down and i thought - leaving my Job, my home, the environment ive know, the people ive known , the life ive known etc, i started feeling home sick already - lolzzzz ; then i spoke to a couple of friends and some of them were happy , some had encouragemnets to offer while some had advices like why do you want to go and spend this amount of money for schooling, y do u want to leave your well paying job, why this, why that? its not worth it, its this , its that.
Meanwhile, as we were recounting the options of migrating in Canny and all dat, hubby suggested the EEP. In our own little knowledge, we analyzed it and though it's worse that going through school. So i said to him that i know this naira land forum where i can ask questions from experienced good people. My question is this, is it true that we need to have a relation in canada before we qualify to apply? is it also true that we need to have a job offer or visited canada for the first time or have canadian education before we apply. We do not have any of these and it seems like we might let go at the end of the day.
I will really appreciate your kind responses. God bless you all and all the best for all hopefuls. |

zandora: WAEC? Why do you want to assess your WAEC Don't you have a BSc or HND? 7 Thank you Zandora... I have a BA obtained in 2005. I have also applied for Master's in Canada for Fall 2016 admissions. I tot WAEC results are parts of the requirements including the BA. That is what i saw on the WES website unless i didnt read the information well. Meanwhile, I have 8yrs work experience, 9yrs by March next yr, will this score me low? |

JesusDWay: You may also have a Window of opportunity with Quebec, I think it's starting on October 1st and it's on First in First out basis so for you and anyone who may be interested see the link below and try and gather your docs together for the day. Although French Test is not a criteria but it is assigned significant marks that can boost your points and, it's officially a French Speaking Province so, you might need it to be able to conduct your everyday business
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/index.html Thanks a Million dear...I will also look into this. I appreciate all your responses.. |

zandora: You seem to be on the right track. Check whether your work experience falls under NOC skill category A, B or O via the link below and if so assess your Bachelor's degree via WES (it's the fastest) and study hard for your IELTS. Goodluck!
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp Many thanks Zandora. As a Manager in HR, it falls under both category O and A. Please is there a website for the WES so that i can assess my degree? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by cherie24(f): 2:03am On Aug 23, 2015 |
zandora: Wrong. I had neither of these but was still able to apply.
Firstly having a relative in Canada would only give you points towards the 67 points needed to qualify via the FSW route, it won't add to your EE score. The best and easiest way is to ace your IELTS exam. However if you're above 34 years of age with a Bachelor's degree as your highest qualification then you may find it necessary to apply for a PNP to boost your EE score. Thank you very much Zandora. I intend to be the principal applicant. I speak French very fluently infact it is my working language and I also have it as a Bachelor degree. I am yet to be 32yrs and i have worked for almost 8yrs (NYSC excluded), married with a child. I am yet to do IELTS exam. |

@Bahaushiya...I am also interested just as you. But house please, does it mean that you do not have any chance if 1) You do not have any relative in Canada 2) You do not get a job offer.
I understand these two gives very high points.
Please help help us... |

Good evening good pple.
Hope we are all keeping well. Please a quick question. Please give me and estimate. For someone going for Master's and sponsering himself; tuition and all other expenses are like CAD35,000. How much can the person possibly have in the account to be solid enough to convince a VO.
Just estimates dears... Thank you |

akanni: I had a friend that relocated from Quebec, and it was because he couldn't speak french. There are lots of job opportunities and you being billingual is a plus, you might have challenges deciding which job to pick. Montreal is Canada's second biggest city after Toronto (google confirms it) and the commercial hub of Quebec where french is the major language spoken. So, go for it and wish you the best! Many many thanks akanni. i do very much appreciate. j'aime bien ton avis et je le considererai bien tot. (i like your opinion and i will consider it soon)..Merci beaucoup |

Hummm...very intresting forum...I have a friend (not on nairaland) who has gotten admission to Uni Regina. She wants to use study leave for her application and where she works, she is allowed to use her outstanding leave days to compensate as part of study leave. She has 100 and sumthing leave days (accumulated over the years ) which means she will earn like 3 to 4montsh salary while in school. if she submits a letter from her coy stating this and her SOA of 40kUSD and ofcourse other required docs, please what her chances?...she is married with 2kids... |
