you're damn correct Regan! the Biafran army and airforce have intensified their training abroad in readiness for the great crusade. very soon, the states of Abia, Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Anioma and Enugwu would give thanks to Chukwu Abiama on the great things he had done especially for resurrecting the 4000 year old Biafran empire. greetings to the peoples of Izon, Mmoño(Ibibio/efik), Oyono(ekoi&ojoga) and Igbo for this wonderful development

bigfrancis21: Exactly. Biafra sounds too Igbotic enough. I had mentioned this earlier before somewhere. A name such as 'Federation of Lower Niger' would be perfect. Every member of SE/SS would feel an absolute sense of belonging. the name Biafra was coined from the name of an ancient empire that existed around 2500BC with the same name. in the spirit of equality and friendship, the five Diets that make up the FLN would answer the name Atlantis while Biafra would be restricted to the Diet/Parliament of Igbo land. |

Rjasan: I'm a niger deltan, from the SS of nigeria(delta state to be specific), i've been reading so many news on biafra lately on nairaland and it interested me so much. Should the Ibos active their biafra dream, what'll be the fate and hope of the SS? Will the south west too not cooperate with the north to frustate the common S.Southerner. This is a call to the SS let's not be quiet and allow ibos go like that, let's join them whether we feel we have the better resources and they do not. One thing I've come to realise is that whether they only engage in buying and selling, the average ibo man will survive as long as there's a will and self determination. Let's not be blind, let's not allow the fear of the unknown to prevent us from making this move or later we may be the ones calling for our own 'niger delta republic' yes our own country. Let's do this to prevent a future catastrophe. Okay, should the Ibos go, will there not be a parasitic association between the SS, SW and the North. They depend on our oil to develop their own states while in return we have little to gain from them. Should they go, what makes us think the northerners and their wife(SW) will not bestow upon us the ill treatments given to ibos. Let's think twice now, let's join and fight for biafra or we may live to regret it later and by then it may be too late. DAZALL that's for your insight into this issue although the parts of the SS joining the Biafran dream has been decided. the map below explains it all

barcanista: What lies in store for the Niger Deltans/SS? Do we continue with the one Nigeria? Should we demand for independent Niger-Delta country or we consolidate on our love and unity with the Igbo nation for an independent and a united SS/SE country?
As an Ijaw, our father's resisted Biafran movement because of "trust" issues. I have searched to see the legitimacy of such fears even read from the memo of Chief Dappa Biriye and I have found no real base but the natural human fear of the unknown. Dappa Biriye, Isaac Boro and some others fought for united Nigeria even when they had nothing gaining from the country. Dappa Biriye was very close to Yakubu Gowon, Muritala Muhammed and even Ahmadu Bello. He always preached "resource control" and good environment, yet we never achieved it. In fact, he formed the Niger Delta Council, a political party for the ethnic Eastern Minorities, through which Melford Okilo won a seat to the House of Representative. He had alliance with Northern People Congress that formed the government, yet we achieved nothing but a common parliamentary secretary. Despite our loyalty to the Nigerian state, the status quo of marginalisation and outright rejection of our demands still stares our faces.
Of a truth, the Niger Delta is filled with different ethnic group and it has never been an organised entity. An independent Niger Delta will only created a confused society. The more organised entity is the eastern region/SS/SE that has been even before independence. The Igbos have shown real brotherhood and have been consistent. I TRUST them.
If Nigeria is to remain United, there must be structural change. Resource Control and True Federalism should not only be accepted, but implemented and encouraged for socio-economic and political progress. A continuous rejection of this demand should make way for a referendum for the people of the ss/se to determine their future in accordance with the UN Principle of Self Determination. Should that be the case, I shall support a United Country with the Igbo nation and the SS irrespesctive of the nomenclature.
However, the new country will have to adopt autonomy of the different nations that makes up the country.
God Bless Us All the highlighted shows how enlightened you've become. the 5 diet model of the LNF is the way to go,with the presidium taking care of just defense, currency and foreign affairs. the 187 LGs that make up the LNF would be grouped into these 5 Diets/Parliaments and everybody would develop at his or her own pace with the resources YHWH has bestowed on him.

Just thinking! the only thing is to change the black in the flag to blue... this would mean the sun rising in a blue background not black. the one with the black background would now be used by the armed forces. as per the name, would you like Atlantis?

Xetima: Bros, Sincerely, the South South region is so traverse now. How would you class PH? Where do you think the ibibios, Efik, etc will align with? Moreover, we have always have this Ijaw/Urhobo/Itsekiri crisis. The better pill to take is to join the Igbos, who would be dominant only if other entities are fragmented. A united Lower Niger is feasible. This is what the cabal never wanted.
By the way the name BIAFRA is not Ibo, it came from Bight of BIAFRA which Nigeria now call Bight of Bonny just to divide and rule the South South Nd South East. the LNF is a project the Igbo, Ijo and Ibibio-Efik have signed up for. moreover the capital would be at PH city, which lies on the border btwn the Igbo, Ijo and Ogoni.the regional govts at Enugwu (Igbo); Yenagoa(Izon); Uyo(Akwa Abasiibom); Opobo(Delta); Calabar(Oyono) would be given responsibility over every issue except defense, currency and foreign affairs with the option to secede if they want. |

We are living in a predominantly patrilineal world. Every damn person you know including yourself is from his/her father's place and not his/her mothers place. Magret was an Igbo girl if you like let the mother come from Jupiter it doesn't matter. Obama is a Kenyan and bears his father's name even though it was the mother that toiled and made him who he is today. Nobody wants to be a bastard. Mentioning that her mother was Efik was merely accademic. I am from my state because of my father and not my mother likewise you. Anybody who is an indigene of a state on account of his mother is simply a bastard! So her name was Magret Obiasulor before marriage changed it to Ekpo. We thank Efik people for helping in nuturing our daughter, though. God would bless them. Mana Ozuzu zuchaa onye nwe nwa nwe nwa!!! Nowenuse: Also, based on the 5 major human geographical divisions we have in Nigeria
The Core-northern part of Nigeria, the Middlebelt part, Eastern, Western & Niger deltan
Let's say Margaret Ekpo represents the Niger deltan region as an Ibibio Ladi Kwali represents the Middlebelt region as a Gbagyi woman & Funmilayo Kuti represents the Western (yoruba speaking region)
I'd like to hear from Igbos (easternerns) and the Hausa-fulanis (core-northernerns), who are the most influential Igbo & Hausa-fulani women that ever lived?? stop talking nonsense! Margaret Ekpo was an Igbo who married an Ibibio. she was an Aro Igbo and not an Niger Delta shiit! |
