European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: $60m Radamel Falcao In Age Falsification Scandal by chibuike123(m): 10:01pm On Jul 24, 2013
dayokanu: Radamel Falcao was introduced at Monaco just three weeks ago, welcomed by a juicy contract and everything wonderful the French Riviera offers after completing a €60m move from Atletico Madrid. But before Monaco even begins their Ligue 1 campaign, their newly-prized asset is already at the center of a damning storm.

A recently published Colombian report questions whether or not “El Tigre" is truly 27 years old as documented by FIFA records, and not two years older as an old civil registration form would suggest.

According to Colombia’s Noticias Uno, Colegio San Pedro Claver de Bucaramanga, one of Falcao’s primary schools, claims the former River Plate and Porto forward was born on Feb. 10, 1984 - making the striker 29 years old. The report adds that the player’s place of birth is Colombia’s capital Bogota, not San Marta, as originally believed.

School official, Wilson Serrano, added further fuel to the scandal and backed the school’s record-keeping:

"He was here in 1989 during preschool for children who are five years old. In order to enroll a student, any student, in this institution, one must provide an official birth certificate. We do not accept copies."

If true, there’s no telling how much this report could hurt Falcao. Monaco, for one, would be livid after spending an exorbitant amount of money on a player that they believe just entered the prime of his career. There’s also the matter of

Falcao’s father did not comment on the report’s findings, but downplayed the contradiction as merely a “clerical error." In case you’re interested, here’s the official news report that details the claims

bilms: Almustapha for President in 2015 Rally Holds in Kaduna

Chief Security Officer to late General Sani Abacha yesterday turned his visit to Kaduna state into a 2015 campaign speeches.

Al-Mustapha, who had been in detention for nearly 15 years, was acquitted by the Court of Appeal Lagos recently over the killing of Kudirat, wife of M.K.O Abiola, the presumed winner of 1913 presidential election.

Major Al-Mustapha, arrived Kaduna state metropolis from Zaria where he paid a visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris around 2.10pm.

Hundreds of youths trooped out to receive him and chanted , “ 2015: Major Al-Mustapha for president.”

Al-Mustapha seized the moment and responding to the youths under the umbrella of Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) said: “For those of you that believe there is hopelessness in the country, we must all team up to make the direction for change. You may not understand now but when the direction is defined, when the rail is laid you will know it.

“I was told that when I was released in Lagos, youths in Kaduna, Kano and other parts of the North trooped out to celebrate my release. Those in the south also did same, because I was told. I thought I was forgotten but this has shown me that you love me and I love you all.

According to him, his release was a victory for democracy and that he would meet with all youth bodies and organisations in both North and South in order to chart a new course.

In his address, the National President of AYF, Comrade Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu said the situation they found themselves in was unfortunate and that they will change the norm at all cost.

Speaking when he received the former CSO in his residence; Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Gumi urged him to see his incarceration as the will of Allah and that he should forgive all those that played role in it.

“It is indeed a happy day for us and as he said it is a big plus to democracy and judiciary in Nigeria. We have come of age where no innocent person should be incarcerated for no reason. We pray Allah will give peace to our nation and for everybody to live in peace and in a peaceful environment.

natasha: I will tell you that jobs are hard to come by, so also is keeping a job. There isnt an easy job. Even oil/banking/political jobs have alot of stress attached to it. If you are complaining that you work in the rain and sun (yet you hv a guaranteed income montgly irrespectively of your target met) i am sorry to say this; you are LAZY. Very lazy and a typical epitome of the nigerian graduate who feels the world owes them the right to a cushy, well paying stress free job.
Do you know how many hours the kids who hawk water/buns etc put in daily even at the weekends all for a meagre 200# naira at the end of the day? In the rain, sun, cold, they endure daily hazards like people stealing their wares, sexual harrassments from all sorts, injuries from feckless drivers.
Let me give you examples of life in d uk, there are people who work odd jobs in freezing conditions (-4 degrees typical weather condition for my city) here and end up sleeping on a couch at the end of the night just so they can save up and send money to take care of their responsibilities back home as well as meet the demands of extended family members/relatives like you.
I would advise you to suck it up, man up, stop acting like a spoilt child and learn to be thankful that you have a job despite your little work experience instead of conplaining that they didnt give you a car. Do you think its cheap maintaining a car? You need to stop this attitude of self entitlement and change your mentality. For someone who has already earned 600k in 6 months and cant boast of a 5% savings na wa o. Afraid she is catching me (as sum1 i know wld say).
Take what u can if u can from my words and i wish u well.
seriously u are an inhumane bitch with no modicum of conscience in you. back in 2010 u came running to NL and sort advice regarding skipping the constitutionally mandatory youth service scheme but u rightly said it then that u couldn't cope. now the gall of you to call a compatriot lazy having poured out his heart regarding the dehumanizing and horrifying situation he experiences on a daily basis. help yourself cos as far as am concerned u are a big excuse for an average Nigerian citizen
