Nedu20:
Good afternoon everyone,
Please could someone help me confirm my calculations.
I'll be heading to Anglia Ruskin University for January start, waiting for the fund in my account to complete before I start counting down to 28day requirement.

School fees - £13,100
Inter. Scholarship - £1000
Deposit - £4000

School fees bal - £8,100
Living cost - £9135
Total fund required - £17,250 ~ N8,107,500
(From Oanda ~ N470)

Please do you think that N8,500,000 will be adequate?

Also my sister promised that the money Will be complete in my account by 1st November and I plan to apply on the 1st December, do you think I'll meet up as my Uni starts on 12th January.

@Justwise and all the other gurus. Thanks for taking your time to answer.

It’s likely to be enough.....but if have more cash, just add it up to the 8.5m

Secondly immediately the money enters your account , wait for exactly 28 days(29th of November) .....print the bank statement and send to your school so they can start processing your CAS.....then wait for 1st of December to print for UKVI

Don’t wait till December 1st to apply for ur CAS.....and please use priority visa ....Good luck

Have been trying to call ukvi, but after have been transferred, they always say my card transactions been declined
Have tried two different cards n both are activated for web transactions

So I don't know what the probs is!!

Its already 10 working days after biometrics and my application hasn't been transferred back to VAC.
Pls anyone who's called shld tell me exactly how u logged in ur card details. Tnx
P.S: I put in my application through the priority service
UKVI is currently prioritizing visas due to d large volume of visa applications. So if ur start date is closer the faster your visa comes out...
Besides I know u counted 9th of September(public holiday in UK l) in ur 10 working days. Priority usually take 10-12 working days now, so expect ur visa on Tuesday or Wednesday

Thanks........ are we saying in UK you cannot school based on family funds. Ie money gotten from Siblings or inheritance . The money required to show is a lot so i would have thought its ok to be sponsored by a sibling or uncle as long as the fund is in the applicants bank account

I wonder if paying the school fees before submitting the application will help
Dearie you can school base on family funds in your father’s bank account and inheritance in your own bank account!. Just like the German block account , UKVI wants to be sure you will have every access to the fund hence the rules about your parents been your sponsor.
Although you can be sponsored by any member of your family but as long as UKVI tier 4 policies are concerned, you must prove you have / will have access to the said money by allowing it stay in your account or parents account.

Paying the fees before submitting the form(visa application you mean abi?) can actually help in reducing how much you need to show in your account.
NB: please for those people that will borrow money put in d account and after 28days , return it to the owners. Be warned that it’s impossible to work and pay for maintenance and tuition as an international students and if along the line you re unable to pay your tuition installment as of when it’s due...na straight deportation oo!

Thanks... this is noted

If a man is travelling with his wife and daughter and the source of fund if asked is stated that his brother who is living in the UK sent it. I wonder if that would be an issue

Sounds suspicious if you ask me though....his brother could ask for return of funds immediately after the 28days or immediately he gets to the UK...leaving with no financial power to carter for his studies and dependants.

The man should state that he works na and have been saving money for a long time and he should be careful when asked how much he earns monthly ....and should totally avoid saying anything about “salary increment” as a reason why he is going for further studies as it may prompt series of questions that could lead to queries about what he does for a living

Interesting comment in bold .... do they ask for source of money and how the money was made ?

Or the primary focus is just the ability to show you have the money for at least 28 days

Cc justwise
I was asked what I do for a living(since I was self funding), and my monthly salary and how my proposed studies could possibly lead to a change in salary when I also mentioned “salary increment” as one of the reasons why I want to go for further studies.
NB: please always have an explanation for any money in your account especially if you re self-funding. They may or may not ask you sha...

Thank you very much.
The truth is we have more than enough money to take care of all 3 of us base on the calculation, in her account already for over 28 days. The money in my own account (over 28 days also) is enough as maintenance money for myself and the kid only. What will you advice in this case?Does it make sense if i add this statement or i should just disregard and use hers only?

You can use both....it could possibly buffer any forex fluctuations. State nobody depends on her financially and state your kids depend on you financially.

NB: please your wife better have a good explanation on how she makes her money so as not to be ambushed by the visa office about how she came about the money to sponsor herself and her family

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Just to make myself clearer, she's going for a master degree,we have enough money already for over 28days. The question is while completing the online application forms, there is a section we need to include persons that are financially dependent on her(on her application form) and persons financially dependent on me (on my own application form). The issue now is, are my suppose to include my Name on her form as one that is financially dependent on her? or should i include her as financially dependent on me( on my form)? Why i am confuse is because we are accompanying her as dependents to the UK although she is actually dependent on me. I hope i am making sense though. Someone that has done this before please help me out, Thank you.

Please do you have the maintenance fee in ur account or your wife’s account?......or you have the correct amount of money that have stayed in ur different accounts for 28days? If the later is the case then :

It depend on how much u have in the individual accounts. If the money in ur account is enough to cover for your maintenance and that of the kids... you can list the kids as FINANCIALLY DEPENDANT ON YOU.

While the money in ur wife’s account should be solely for her own maintenance.ie nobody is depending financially on her.

Please what do you mean that she is dependent on you??.....is the money in your own account or hers??.....does she work and can easily account for the money in her account when she is asked by the immigration officer how she intend to pay for her fees?.... i
NB: The word “dependant” as stipulated by UKVI doesn’t necessarily mean someone that has the money to take care of the person schooling...it also means someone you depend on for moral support etc

I greet the house. Thank you all for the wonderful work you guys are doing here. I have been a silent reader for sometime now. I'm currently completing the online form for my wife as the Primary applicant and for our two Sons, we intend to apply at the same time. How do i complete the part that ask thus "Does anyone rely on you for financial support? Include both those travelling with you and those who are not.. Are my suppose to include my Name as her dependent or just the kids, since the money is in her account and we are going on dependent Visa? or since i'm the one with a job currently, is she and the kids suppose to be my dependents? Please someone help, i am confused on how to go about this. Who should be dependent?
Again, we already have Enough money in her account for 28days. Will it be ok if i also submit my personal statement ( 28days) along with my visa as well? will it improve our chances or just not necessary?

Thank you very much as you help me out.

Hope she is going for a postgraduate studies because anything less that that will make her ineligible to come along with her dependants to the UK for her studies.
Your wife must have proof she have the money, and that it’s been in her bank account or her dependant’s bank account for at least 28 days before she or you and your kids apply.

But it’s always better all the money remain in her account for 28days since she is the primary applicant.

NB: you can as provide money in your account for 28 days to show that you can take care of yourself, if you can afford to.

And yes people rely on you and your wife for financial support

Guys, I know I should be doing this research myself, and I have no excuse for asking here

Does the UK allow students to study law at the undergraduate level?

Both the UK and Nigeria practice roughly the same pattern of constitution...hence after studying law in the UK, you can be admitted into a Nigerian law school and U can still practice in Nigeria with your UK degree.

Same is not applicable in the USA n other developed countries

Lol!.....you that just finished ur credibility interview on the 12th ni!.....unless u did super priority, I would advice you just buy popcorn and ice cream and wait for at least a week more before you waste about 600 naira per minute trying to call them or spend about 2k+ trying to email them!

Thanks for the feedback

The problem now is that i live in Port Harcourt and i actually paid for DHL service.

Assuming i live in Lagos, would have walked up there myself since last week.

If going to Lagos is not an option, please send TLS a message.

Look for the mail they sent you informing you that your message has been transferred to DMC. You can click on the “contact “ icon and send them a message

At your interview, if asked simply tell the Officer "You have checked online and would love to see them physically to make a decision and payment" but would get a bread and breakfast for the few days to sort that.
Wow! That’s a brilliant response

I chose not to reply all the craps because I won't dignify any lazy person who wants to be spoonfed.
An adult that chose to study abroad should be ready to read extensively and if you find people giving you answers here, they are not obliged to, since you are not paying anyone here.
People here have their lives outside NL.
Anyone that wants answers should be teachable, if you can't or won't take to advise because it rubs your Ego, do whatever you like or take whatever decision at your cost.
When you are outside Africa you would understand why its important to read/ study every document by yourself.
That simple.

My brother it was same you that asked about travelling to UK with powdered milk sometime in 2018 and someone answered you without sarcasm although that question was borderline irrelevant. I have seen you ask your own fair share of questions you tagged as “lazy” and not worth your time

In 2018 I actually learnt a lot from you because you were answering questions without sarcasm and I am quite shocked now because all efforts to persuade you to stop using harsh tone and “ITK” attitude has proven ineffective

Yes! No body is getting paid for answering questions here, but people still answered your questions when u were seeking help . People have a life outside NL, but they still come out here to answer questions

Please let’s be our brother’s keeper

[quote author=popplm post=81399663]I am to choose between these two courses for my masters degree in UK. Drug design&Biomedical Science and pharmaceutical&analytical science. I am qualified for both but I need to know the best in term of job acquisition in Nigeria and abroad. [/quote

Doing a masters in biomedical sciences doesn’t guaranty you a job as a biomedical scientist both in the UK and Nigeria

You need to be registered with Medical laboratory science council of Nigeria in Nigeria and HCPC in the UK.
Am not to familiar with that of UK but I am very positive that you can’t work in Nigeria as a Medical laboratory scientist with MSc bioscience and biomedical science without prior bsc in biomedical sciences / Medical laboratory sciences

NB: mind you the MSc in bioscience and biomedical sciences is mainly offered by GCU and am not sure if it’s accredited by IBMS. So do your research well

Good afternoon everyone, I already booked for my appointment for Thursday. Do I need to submit hotel reservations or it's not necessary?? As I am not sure where I would be staying yet as I am still awaiting replies from various landlords I contacted. Please a reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Don’t think you need to submit hotel reservations, although you better get prepared to answer questions about where you will be staying during your study( you can either say you intend staying in the school’s accommodation which you have applied for and is currently awaiting d outcome or you can name the various landlords you have contacted for accommodation)

If you state private accommodation you maybe asked in the interview how you intend getting to school, you can answer by stating you will get a student bus pass(think it’s 35pounds a week or so)

I stand to be corrected oo!!

Hello guys.

Please I would like to know which of the student Visas to apply for between priority and super priority? ... My start date is in October.
Also, which of these locations (Lagos and Abuja) is faster in terms of visa processing time and available interview dates?

Berryabel you need a tier 4 visa and u can go for any of the tier 4 added services( super priority or priority) it is solely dependent on how much you are willing to spend for your visa

Priority visa will cost you almost 600k and comes out within 5- 7 working days ( although it’s taking longer now due to DMC has a lot of visa application to process )

Super priority will cost you almost 900k + and comes out within 24-48hrs. It may also take longer (but it’s rare except if you have gotten a UK visa rejection in the past).

I heard ikeja is faster than VI and of late Abuja is becoming faster for Priority n super priority ( I stand to be corrected though )

Since your school starts in October, I would advice you go for priority visa. After all d difference between a priority visa and standard visa is about 98k +

It would be insult to you because people like you want to be spoonfed on this thread.
No need for tempers to flare.... I believe we re all civilized and should try to be polite to any individual who seeks help in this forum, it’s in human’s nature to ask “funny” and irrelavent questions when they are in search of a life changing answer or want to make serious life decisions like going to the UK to study , work etc

My brother zoey1 please tamper some questions with mercy and if you find the question to be so funny, irrelevant and not befitting your attention . Please just ignore. I have asked my own fair share of stupid questions too! and I know how degrading it can be when I receive sarcastic or insulting answers.

Eh! Please who has a reliable info about the 2years PSW VISA....am hearing/ seeing different interpretations
