the best i like of arsenal fans is their abilities to analyse soccer. it is only an arsenal fan that is always ready to draw the epl table on the ground and show u where they will get their points to lift the cup every season.

The Governmrnt of Jonathan has the prerogative to withdraw a charge against anyone. So what the AP has done is in line with his powers. But the wise thing would have been to allow Ribadu to face the charges and let the courts free him since it is believed that the case has no substance. If another govt comes up tomorrow, it can reopen the case against Ribadu. See? This seeming favour is not the best for Ribadu. Let him come home, face the charge in court and get discharged and acquitted

you are just one out of more than 149 million coaches nigeria has and u represent just a very good reason nigerian football has refused to grow. if u are made the coach of any team where mikel plays, his carrier is finished but as God may have it, that can't be possible even in ur dreams hence mikel lives on.

lol man your a funny guy. well only mourinho knows what he saw in Mikel that made him decide to use the chap as a DM. i certainly think he must have been really special judging not only by the way united and chelsea fought over him but also by his performances in the youth world cup at that time. perhaps the move to chelsea came too soon for him and he could not deliver his best under the pressure he was in. who knows? like i said only mourinho would be able to enlighten us. maybe mikel would have benefited from being in a smaller premiership club where he would be fighting to help them avoid relegation. such things help to build character but as it was, he ended up being dumped in a pile of superstars while the whole word was expecting him to be the next big thing. it is possible he either become too arrogant and started believing his own hype or he started feeling inferior. either one is a recipe for disaster. should he then have gone to united? who can say? after all anderson was also supposed to be the next big thing as an attacing midfielder but at some point was being used as a DM. mikel has some good attributes. he is a good passer of the ball. i remember being amazed by his level of technique back then. i would suggest that nigeria use mikel in something similar to the role carrick plays for united. in truth most midfielders take time to developbut for someone wearing the no10 for his country, we want more. in his shoes what would i do? i would go out there and play football to the very best of my ability. yes mikel has made it in life and he has found "geener pastures" but do not forget one thing: "the customer is always right". footballers make their money from you and i! everytime you pay your dstv bill, you are contributing to mikels salary and everytime you buy original chelsea merchandise(assuming you do) you are contributing to mikels salary. so is it not right or the customer to complain if they don't like the services rendered to them?

what u have presented here is called constructive criticism or arguement. i like or even love ppl who have points and facts to point to and that is exactly what u have done here. debates and arguements are worn on points and if i am uninformed about soccer and mikel, i will simply give up here but my fears here is ur readiness to accept the undiluted truths as will be presented under the following headings;
1. nigeria : it really unfortunate that i do not know how long u have been in the system that is following nigerian football but for me, i can discuss nigerian football well as it relates to the 1993 national side till date.
be reminded that nigeria had abacha who was in love with soccer and our national side became a world brand under his regime and after that, we have been on the decline. nigerians have been suffering as a result of our inability to tackle the problems as we always prefer leaving the object for shadow. apart from mikel, what else is working well in nigeria. just name one thing that is funcitioning well in nigeria. the death of nigerian football has been blamed by many short sighted soccer analysts of nigeria on mikel.
2. going to chelsea : in going to chelsea, mikel committed a crime that 190% of nigerians will commit when he dumped man u and their £4m fraudulent contract for a whopping £16 million chelsea clean deal. pls correct this assumption with refference if u have or know of any.
3. your suggestion of going toa smaller club and build his carrier from there: how do u fit this in with the history of okocha who took ur suggested route? how far did he climb on the ladder? what about kanu? who started with big clubs - ajax of those days, inter and arsenal, how do u see the duo? do not forget, every african man wants to make the best of money while he is young and remember, a club like arsenal can only give u 1 yr contract as soon as u are 30. how did okocha leave bolton after all his efforts in keeping them out of relegation zone.
4. mourinho : like u rightly said, mourinho knows what he saw in mikel but what about subsequent coaches? don't u think, grant, scolari, hiddink and ancelloti can decide to bench mikel especially for the single reason of not been the ones that bought him. if we say mourinho made a mistake, it is a world class mistake by abt six world class coaches which can only be corrected by uninformed nigerians.
5. purpose of football : the last time i checked, these clubs were registered as limited liability companies with a single purpose of maximizing profits. if that is the main purpose of these clubs, what do u think shld be the target of the players? getting the best they can or playing just to make nigerians happy?

finally, i wish to remind u brother, football business is somewhat organised that lawyers, consultants of different pedigrees and agents are involved. the movement of a player to and out of any club depends not only on the player but on someother factors and persons. these gang of professionals are not there as cahrity organisations of non profitable organisations rather they are there to make the best out of every deal.
there are more than one million mikels in nigeria who need the help of a shittu to become the topics of the day.
shittu found mikel and ogbuke and today mikel has become a problem just because he is successful.

Taiwo plays more as a midfielder for Marseille. I still prefer Echiejile to him at left-back in the Super Eagles particularly when we have central defenders who aren't very good at covering their wing backs.

it is about taiwo's goal in marseille and the echiejile u prefer is not prefered by the marseille coach hence the need to talk about the goal, taiwo and marseille but if you have need for comparism, u can start a new topic.

A good coach usually plays a formation that will suit the strengths of the available players. Taiwo is a good wingback but a below par full back. Taiwo would fare well in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 diamond formation with a DM as an anchor.

I think Lagerback would use him effectively and we should play to the strengths of Taiwo and Mikel. They are amongst our biggest players atm (with regards to playing at the highest level).

that a player is not playing in his club does not make him bad as there cld be other reasons like, coach's prefference. again, it cld be as a result of who u are playing the same wing with.
assuming bolton has someone better than shittu in their team, they will not have a choice than making him the second choice be reminded that second choice in one club cld be a first team player in another.
