Well something I feel should ease up your budget is to find a friend or relative in Australia (or anywhere else in diaspora). They can help make payments on your behalf while you reimburse (or pay ahead) using western union or moneygram. Their rates are far bearable compared to banks' or mallam's. It's a theory I applied when I travelled to Dubai for honeymoon and I saved a lot.
Exactly what I'm doing. It's cheaper, GTB ans stanbuc bith have daily limit of 500 USD. That's why my payment didn't go. Another option would be to get a dollar Mastercard, but dollar is expensive. FirstBank's limit is 2000 dollars per month which can be used in a day as well but I realised that for what ever you're paying it must be the USD equivalent and again dollar is expensive. So I'm sending money via Moneygram to a relative in Australia saving about 20k, so he can help pay for my assessment.

My advisory service response

1. Bachelor of Science in Estate Management from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Univerversity, Awka, Nigeria (5 years)

Using the published guidelines that we refer to for assessing Nigerian qualifications against the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), it is likely that the above qualification would be assessed at AQF Bachelor degree level. An AQF bachelor degree meets the educational level required for all occupations currently assessed by VETASSESS for Skills Assessment purposes.

Area of Study:

Estate Management

It is likely that the above qualification would be assessed positively against the occupation of Valuer.

Conclusion:

Based on the evidence provided, it appears likely you would be assessed positively against the occupation of Valuer (ANZSCO 224512). This opinion is due primarily to the underpinning qualification and the following task performance during employment with Bleep, however, it is also dependent upon the requirement that the majority of the employment is focussed on tasks that are highly relevant to the nominated occupation for at least 20 hours per week and not focussed on less relevant tasks such as on the marketing and auction of land (as described as task 11 on the statement of service out of 12 tasks) which would not be assessed as relevant to the nominated occupation.

Not Tested:

The above advice is provided for pre-assessment purposes only and is based on summary information provided by the applicant. The information submitted has not yet been tested or subjected to any external research processes and/ or integrity checking. Therefore, the views expressed via our Advisory Service do not guarantee a positive skills assessment outcome.

Opinion Only:

Please note that the above is an opinion only and that applicants are entitled to apply for an assessment against any occupation currently assessed under our authority if they feel they are able to provide sufficient evidence that would likely support a positive assessment outcome against current occupation requirements.

I had to go check their website, you're actually right, I didn't know and I did not read anything, I went to practicepte.com and practiced 2 exam scenario questions, good to know though, but the koko is my vetassess outcome, its not by PTE alone. Cheers.

You might want to try Pearson center, there at Ikeja, after Shoprite. Your score is good. I scored W 90, R 76, L 74, S 58.
Any idea how to tackle speaking session? piusfords@gmail.com. Thank you.
I spoke "Phoney", but it was clear and I ensured I pronounced correctly. You also need to "flow", I believe if you sound tensed or not relaxed it will come out in your speech as you might have breaks like "er", and I was also the only one in the room, I'm sure my voice was loud. I heard speaking brings guys down a lot. I was lucky, got 90.

angiesteve:
Good day mates,

I recently got a negative assessment from VETASSESS for Internal Auditor and would require advice from the house. Just a little background about my profile, I have a bachelors degree in Economics in 2005 from LASU and also a chartered accountant (2008). I have about eight years in Internal Audit experience in a Nigerian Bank. The reasons for the negative assessment are:

1. That my first degree obtained from LASU is equivalent to AQF Associate Degree and not Bachelors Degree.

2. That my first degree in Economics is not highly relevant to the field of Internal Audit.

3. That my ICAN certificate obtained in 2008 is not taken into consideration because its not recognized by the Nigerian Board of Technical Education (NBTE) or the Country Education Profile (CEP) in Australia.

Based on little research that I have done, there was no way NBTE would have contained ICAN or regulate ICAN. ICAN was established by the act in 1965 while NBTE was only established in 1975. Also, Economics not being related to internal audit is arguable by the standards issues by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

I have the option of assessing with other bodies like CPA/IPA/ICA not as internal auditor but accountant. The problem is, i might not be able get points for work experience because of my role as an internal auditor.

Your views please?
Sorry Bro, but I just want to use your issue as an advice to anyone using VETASSESS, try and use the advisory service first, if you do that you will know if your qualifications and work experience are relevant to the occupation you have chosen (I stand to be corrected). I have currently applied for the advisory service, it cost me about 40k. I think it is better to pay for advisory and be told that your qualifications do no match your occupation, then you can look for another occupation, than to pay almost 250k for assessment and wait for some months only to get a negative assessment. These are my thoughts, just what I think, I may be wrong. angiesteve someone i know who studied economics and is chartered (ICAN) but works with a BIG4 assessed using CPA as an accountant and is currently in Australia. In-fact he started the whole process in October last year and by January, he had gotten papers, but it was state nomination.

Hi guys!

I've applied and paid for vetassess advisory, 18 working days to go. Though I'm still interested in knowing if the advisory service will reduce the time I'll have to wait when I apply for the assessment.

Please I'm asking again, will using vetassess advisory service reduce the time for them to get back to me when I start the proper assessment?

I paid 38k for my PTE. All others I saw was around 50k. But if you register with UKEAS and you intend to write with them it's 38k. They'll give you a voucher code.
mamajaz:
Is it still same till now Chief!?
I wrote my PTE about 2 weeks ago. So I believe the price should still be the same. UKEAS is the cheapest. Though their vouchers get exhausted easily, I had to wait 3-4 days before they got new ones.

It is written clearly and specifically on VETASSES'website that applicants from Nigeria must request their university to send their transcript and certificate directly to VETASSES.

How many years was your study for? I hope you have at least a year experience in the occupation you are nominating?
Oh okay, didn't see that thanks. Yes I have 4 years cumulative work experience and I studied estate management which is a 5 year course.

Hi guys I don't have any material and I didn't use any, go to this site practicepte. net, you will get a opportunity to solve 2 three hour PTE styled practice tests. They're exactly in the same format as the exam and you get an opportunity to see ideal answers for the 2 tests. You'll be required to pay for more tests if you wish to practice more and also to get expert evaluation of the test taken.

The test covers reading , speaking, writing and listening and is almost like the real test.

The key to passing the exam is practicing an ideal test so you can get used to the style but other than that it's basic stuff. Also when speaking, you need to be relaxed and be as natural as possible.

Hi guys!

I'm about to start the process. I have just received my PTE results, thankfully got 90 overall score, So I'm guessing that the next thing is to assess my educational qualifications. I have a copy of my university transcript ? Will vetassess accept this or do I need to get my Alma mater to send it. Also I attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University, does anyone know how long it takes them to send transcripts? Thanks alot.

Thanks all for your input, including those that threw shades say make I go change car, your comments are appreciated.

@Gazzuzz can your guy get a good tokunbo one for me? Also please do you think that sound I described sounds like a wheel hub issue?

@colossus2 thanks, I'm not familiar with Ifako, neve been there.
Car TalkRe: Is My Mechanic Ripping Me Off??? by chidike(op): 6:39am On Apr 13, 2016
colossus2:
Change you mechanic.
I don't know if that's the issue. I think a faulty hub makes a humming sound and not the type of exhaust sound you related to.
That aside, a toks hub shouldn't be more than 15k.
A safer benchmark estimate, we can use 25k.
What is your location?
I also didn't think it was the hub but I'm not very good with car issues. I'm in Surulere
