He was brutalized yet no media outlet covered it, he was brutalized yet there is no evidence anywhere, at the time oshiomole was NLC we had camera phone, nokia N97 even sagem my-x 55 was sophisticated enough to take pictures.

It is simply wicked of Adams Oshiomole to rationalize the brutalization of Joe Ajaero for political reasons. No citizen deserves what happened to Joe Ajaero. Police had the option of just detaining him in isolation to cut off oxygen to the protest but they chose brutalization to please people who call themselves democrats. that By the way, there is no picture of Adams Oshiomole with swollen face and bloody bandages as NLC President anywhere.

Look, I don't know about these days but during our time of campus aluta struggle, if our SUG president comes back to the campus with swollen and bloody face, the campus and the town will be turned upside down. How much more the president of NLC. We are talking national president here. Nonsense!

Ajaero might be NLC president but he is undeserving of whatever you expect Nigerians to do for him, what as that idiot ever done for Nigerians

PHIPEX:
So all the woman in the other regions got their property through inheritance?
You are just being blind folded, Marriage is not the only means for a woman to own properties like land & house
However, asides a woman buying for herself, the two options for a woman to get a properties from man is either through her father or husband, what are the chances any of these igbo men will pass his land/house to a daughter or Wife base on the cultural belief on ground ??
An igbo man rarely throw away his culture cos of xtainity or education. An igbo man no matter where he relocate, is always vested back home following up.
Properties › Re: Statistics Of Women Per Region Who Own A House With Title In Nigeria by chidiokay: 5:28am On Nov 12, 2023
PHIPEX:
There is a close relationship between this stats and Divorce rate. The higher the divorce rate, the higher the potential for a woman to own a property IN HER OWN NAME. Why should my wife own a property in her own name if we are happily married, the least is co-ownership of property between the husband and the wife.

It also relates to the high rate of polygamy, women have higher tendency to own property in their own name if the husband is polygamous. In that case each wife tries to secure the future of their own children. Statistically, South East is least in polygamy in Nigeria because of the influence of Christianity, so their women will be the least in owning landed property in their own names.
Your analysis holds no water cos Cultural/belief of the SE gives no credence to the female, she has no say in her family inheritance.
Most igbo men won't will there house or land to there wife or daughter.
Xtainity and polygamy might be part of it buh Belief/Cultural factor are the Main influence.

Is it 70% of the 90%? You think they will not want to embezzle 50% of that 90% since you have decided that Nigerians shouldn’t complain at all as it’s the way of these politicians.

Imagine that we gave the same excuse for the presidential yacht, as 5billion is just a small percentage of the budget, what do you think would have happened to the 5billion? If you don’t shout they will get away with everything.

The beauty of democracy is making your leaders accountable not condoning profligacy with an excuse that the money being wasted is a small percentage of the total budget.
I said leave the small pie and lets focus on the bigger pie how is that "don't complain at all", i think you are just being petite here.

One of the beauty of democracy is to hold our leaders accountable, but how do we do that when Nigerians are easily "Distracted" we are not in control the politician decides what we react and make noise about, very soon they will throw another News out and everybody we forget the Yacht & renovation story,
How do we hold our leaders accountable when they decide the 'issues & duration' for us. For 8yrs of Buhari we kept reacting like chemicals nothing to show and you still want us to continue the same way reaction upon reaction no one is thinking outside the box. abeggi

Why waste your time pressuring the government to account for 90% when 10% of the budget has been overlooked & termed as normal recklessness? Don’t you think 100% accountability is the best for any business/nation?
100% is just a mirage that is not feasible, even DNA don't come back as 100%

i don't support the lavish spending the govt is doing, But i have manage to come to terms with the reality that the politicians can never change there ways, if we shout from now till tomorrow it won't deter them

Nigerians dwell and waste tew much time on things they can't stop or change instead of exerting all that energy on things that concerns us directly.

The politicians have taken what they want to take, Lets focus on the broad part of the budget and hold them accountable to it.

You think because road construction, student loan, defense are part of the 2.17trillion so spending a meager(going by your position) 13.5bn recklessly is justifiable? Wow!

Of all the billions budgeted for roads, security, etc how motor-able are most of these roads? How secure are we in this country? Agreed, embezzlement has been going on since but spending 13.5bn recklessly & telling people to tighten their belts in the face of this hardship is the height of insensitivity. Don’t defend it. There is money in this country. If spent judiciously living in this country would have been easier that it is now.
if 13.5bn was 50% of 2trillion Maybe reckless would have being the word,

If not that you and Peter Obi are just being mischievous why not juxtapose with full analysis of the supplementary budget, obi should give us a full break down if the 2trillion

Lets face reality, every president we had does these reckless spending, even the Buhari we thot was immaterial to us for a ride

Everytime Nigerians love to React & Nagg and our politicians have so much adapted, it won't stop them anyways, instead of wasting our time over 13.5bn why can't we shift focus on the balance which is over 90% and pressurize the govt to use it judiciously.

You have still not answered my question? Should the thugs that assaulted a whole NLC be prosecuted or commended by the government? Since as you said Ajaero did not know the confines of his authority, should the remedy be brutalisation or outright killing by government supporters?

What do you mean by "No governor in Nig. owes the NLC president recognition or dialogue"? Do any governor owe the Nigerian president recognition or dialogue or dialogue then, since the state is supposedly an independent entity?
I see what you are trying so hard to do ! No one as come out to say what the thugs did to Ajaero right, what is wrong is wrong

And if you care to listen NLC/Ajaero plunging the people of IMO into darkness and anxiety is also wrong, does two wrongs make a right

If Ajaero knows he was Brutalized and he is sure the govt & police are accomplices then he should drag them to court.

Everyday Nigerians are brutalized, workers are maltreated and humiliated, how many have NLC stood up for, Ajaero was assaulted they want to shut down Nigeria BUT Ajaero led NLC never deem it fit to shut down when the livelihood of millions of Nigerians were taken away by subsidy removal.

You're entitled to ur opinions but not ur facts. The NLC President can choose to support the struggle for fair labour practices anywhere in the country, his jurisdiction is not limited to the nation's capital! Granted that Imo State is not the only place were labour laws have been badly misinterpreted by the govt, but u cannot select how or were the NLC chooses to make a stand, especially when it concerns their President's home State. Any sane person would expect a Gov, a few days away from a re-election, to negotiate and not resort to thuggery. Electing to blame an institution working in accordance with the Constitution as against an administration that has acted unconstitutionally is not a wise approach. How bout you have a sit down and rethink the kind of dangerous executive rascality you're supporting with your comments.

The NLC has right to be privy of all states affairs that concerns the workers no doubt, BUT that is not the bone of contention,
the NLC president can supervise, support and give recommendation/solutions BUT must being seen acting through the state chairperson .. as long as its on state level.

First off, your understanding of Labour Unionism and politics is marred by the Nigerian political landscape. Since the 1900s when the Labour Union was formed in England and formed its first govt in 1924, Labour Unions around the world have also formed their own parties and attracted politicians. The NLC is no different, and it started the Labour Party in Nigeria, in 2002. Expecting the NLC and it's president to be apolitical shows you have no idea what the role of the Labour Union is as a democratic institution. Robin Cohen in his book titled, Labour & Politics in Nigeria, noted down a lot but I'll mention just two. 'Gross violation of Nigeria labor laws by employers and corrupt practices on the part of administering authorities.' Guess what, the govt is the highest employer of labour in Nigeria, and Joe Ajaero was there to protest the violated rights of Imo State workers as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution! Check your 'blame the victims' mentality and quit siding with oppressors because you're far removed from the consequences. If the govt can openly assault a national Labour leader without consequences, what do you think would be the fate of the minimum wage worker in that State??
