thesicilian:
Now that the government needs the money, direct conversation of dollars to naira is possible within seconds. But when poor students need dollars for international fees payments, they will fill forms and wait for weeks and months.
I laugh in foreign language.

What I fear most is that they might begin forcefully converting these dorm accounts to naira if the owners don't agree, or placing illegal charges on the accounts to siphone the money little by little.
Your fears bears no national interest or concern for the hardship dollarized economy is having on Nigerians

The only reason the govt is being polite and hestitant to throttle Domiciliary account is becos it affect mainly the Rich, friends and family.

IF domilicary account were to be for the poor by now CBN would have clamp down on it,

Paraman:
I don't even understand what your point exactly is... You're just everywhere
My stand is both Dangote and govt don't have the interest of Nigerians at heart

I see your concerns are more of Dangote interest which i think is unnecessary, lets leave dangote out for now

Whatever excuse Dangote has to import crude is propelled by NNpc and govt, so our focus should be on NNpc and govt to do the right thing,

Should NNPC meet dangote quota, he won't have justification no more

A country without refinery was swapping crude oil to import refined products due to non functional refineries....The country finally managed to have a functional refinery and suddenly same country no longer have crude oil to swap...lol rather supply to the functional refinery. They are planning to import crude oil to supply this functional refinery.
The story is the same for all sectors. Power generation 4000 to 5000 year in year out. It begs the question why should Nigerian leaders choose to sabotage the country?
What i find insultive the most is how the govt thing we can't see through there corrupt practices

The dollarization of the economy is favouring the rogues in govt, and they know with dangote getting total crude from NNPC will hinder access to official fx, cos there is no way NNPC can justify selling crude to dangote in dollars, for them Naira is bad news

These goes further to prove that NNPC, Govt & stakeholders don't mean well for Nigerians, they intentionally fail to impoverish Nigerians cos dollarization of the economy give them yeast profit

Now that NNPCL can only provide 4 million litres of crude oil instead of 6 million litres of crude oil Dangote will need at his refinery... Are you advising Dangote to shut down his refinery in February because NNPCL can't supply the quantity he needs?

Do you know Dangote will also export refined crude to foreign countries when operation start?
Oga, i have no business with dangote, he does not has Nigerians interest at heart and i don"t blame him, whatever the feelings is mutual

However my concern & advice is to Nnpc and Govt to do what is right and stop taking Nigerians for a fool, We have the capacity to meet Dangote demands why can't work towards that,... why must everything be projected as tho mission impossible

Dangote is highy excuse cos essence of business is to maximize profit, but kindly take into cognisance that dangote getting all demanded crude from NNPC won't negate is potentials to export refined crude, ... so! lets leave dangote for now and compel our govt/NNpc to do the right thing 1st, then we can pounce back on dangote later.

Reno Omonkey, speaking from both sides of the mouth.

The clown said we should stop patronizing mtn. But he wants Dangote to use dollars to import crude oil.

The olodo wants everyone to use globacom but he doesn't want Dangote to use only Nigeria crude oil.

So should Dangote not buy crude oil to run his refinery because of the exchange rate situation?
Dangote is within his right to source for crude oil outside if NNPC can't meet his demand, businesswise dangote as nothing to lose

But its only best in Nigerians and the economy interest that NNPC meet dangote demands ameloriate the dollarization of our economy

You don't expect me to be looking out for dangote interest, i am speaking for my interest and that of Nigerians cos exchange rate is making cost of living unbearable for Nigerians

The refinery will have a positive impact on the economy But thats if Naija factor stays out of the way

And is not even as if the guy won't buy Nigerian crude in february.

Dangote can buy crude from anywhere that he wants
The whole essence and faith Nigerians had in local Refinery is it not to ameliorate the demand on dollar and promote dependency

We know Dangote has right to source for crude from anywhere but will that not be counter productive on the economic considering the present xchange rate, dangote buying crude from US denotes high cost already,

Presently, Nigeria is producing oil less than her capacity & opec quota, however that we have sold our crude into the future doesnt stop us from optimizing our crude production to max, cos producing enough will ensure there is enough to share

The demand on dollar must lessen if Naira must get a grip of itself

That if banks have enough and willing to give you.
There is scarcity of forex.
Why are the banks not willing to give? when they are meant to be the official distributors

banks tell you there is no dollar but if you are persistent they direct you to an Aboki outside, where are those abokis getting it if not from the banks, same way customers hardly get mint notes from the bank but when you get to owambe you see some agent selling mints who is there source if not banks

We can call the Govt all sorts of name but even people aint helping matters, presently there are so many uninvited players in the fX market staking against the Naira hence the free fall

Simi the simp. Continue to feel heavy until your enemies kill you.

You work, eat and surround yourself with enemies and you think it will be easy for you.

They will continue to frustrate you and reduce you to nothing,if you don't show them who the boss is.

The other day it was a local government chairman calling a state governor foolish publicly, next will be a councilor, then ward chairmen will follow.

I know evil supporters will say he is doing this for peace, which kind peace are we talking about.

A governor being ridiculed in a state he is suppose to be number 1. A governor can't even make simple appointments.

A governor sleeping with one eye open, peace indeed.

The solution is addressing fundamental issues that have hindered the effective operation of the Nigerian FX markets over the years and encouraging local productions of goods.
And what are the fundamental issues hindering the effective operation of Nigeria Fx market if not human factor

It might even cross over to the year figure digits of 2024.

Tinubu is operating on a cursed mandate. His criminal desecrating desperation mandate has brought dearth on the land.

If Tinubu is patriotic, himself and shettima will resign and run away.

pocohantas:
The reason the guys here are fighting this is because they are not the financially stable older men in question.

The one that said women want older men when they are old is just capping. Isn't it on this same NL we agreed older women grab anything? A woman is more likely to marry her age bracket when she is older, than when she is young. You are more likely to see a 34yrs old bride with a 38yrs old man or even 33. Than a 23 with 28.

Starting from a young age, most women tilt towards older men for financial stability and emotional maturity. If you don't have money as a man, ain't no aging like wine. No 23yrs old girl is about to trek under hot sun with a man that looks like her father. She would convince herself she has 7 more years to get a better option.

You guys should learn to be realistic. Life is beyond Romance section.

The attempts by the Cbn so far can be likened to carrot and stick approach, pumping money into FX market willl never work cos the big sharks are waiting to mop up the funds, hoard and let the price shoot up
the Best solution is to diversify, another crazy approach is for govt to open our border, alternative sources of import will ameliorate the concentration on dollar
