in a situation whereby a Christian hears a news informing him of mass massacre of his fellow Christian brothers else where, He might be forced to have bad impression on his Muslim neighbors, but basically, the 2 religions condemn violence

all over the world christians are known to be peace loving people. same goes for real muslims some of whom i presently wine and dine with, you dare not molest a non muslim while they arround without a good reason but the unimformed ones accross the globe are ready to die any minute over things they know little or nothing about.

A true christian is peace loving and would not seek the head or blood of another as vengeance belongs to God

There is nutin like the easterners been weary. The easterners has really tried in making Nigeria better but at the end the blame is heaped on them. For instance let me refer to the aburi accord agreement, it was the igbos that pursed it and achieved it but the northners coming back to Nigeria after the agreement nullied it and continue their oppression against the easterners which eventually led to the civil war which was fought against the easterners by majority of tribes. Now after that bitter experience of betrayal to the eastners you think and expect them to come and join in this struggle again. PROUDLY NO cause on the long run we will be left alone and blames will be heaped on us again. We started the struggle for a better Nigeria so let other zones like south south, south west let them finish the fight we started. We the eastners has better things to worry about here which includes negotiating with the northners if we are to exist as a nation or breakup, then if we must exist as a nation, then we have to agree on something similar to the aburi accord if not, then everyone to your tent o isreal so that peace will reign in our different regions. I stand to be corrected if I am mistaken

Boko Haram yesterday reacted formally to the barrage of condemnations against its Christmas Day bombing, insisting that what it did was correct and vowed to carry out more attacks.

The Islamic sect, whose actual name is Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, confirmed in a statement issued by its leader Imam Abu-Muhammad Abubakar bin Muhammad Shekau that it was responsible for the December 25 bombing of a church in Madalla, a suburb of Abuja, in which at least 37 people were killed.

Shekau said in the statement written in the Hausa language and e-mailed to media houses by the group’s spokesman Abul Qaqa: “I am informing all Nigerians and the rest of the world that there is no doubt that we committed that act and God’s willing we will carry out further attacks.”

He revealed that the attacks are meant to avenge the “mass killing of Muslims carried out by Christians with the connivance of government” in northern towns like Kaduna, Zonkwa, Langtang, Yelwan Shendam, Jos, Tafawa-Balewa, and Numan, as well as in Shagamu and Ikoyi, Lagos in the south. The latest of such killings, according to the group, took place a few months ago on Eid el-Fitr Day in Jos, the Plateau state capital, during which non-Muslims cannibalised the burnt corpses of victims.

“We swear by Allah that we will avenge any form of injustice committed, being committed or to be committed against Muslims. This is just the beginning,” Shekau vowed.




The group also questioned the stance taken by Muslim leaders and traditional rulers who condemned the Christmas Day killings, saying they have no right to decide what Islam preaches on the responsibility of Muslim activists.

According to it, “the so-called Muslim leaders” should know that God, in the Qur’an (2:194) urges Muslims to avenge any transgression committed against them by non-Muslims. It also referred the Sultan of Sokoto, whom it derisively called “Emir of Sokoto,” to Qur’anic chapters and verses 2:190-194; 9::36, and 22:39-41, as well as the 134th Tradition in Sahih Muslim on the concept of jihad or holy war.

Shekau challenged the Muslim leaders to tell Nigerians why they did not condemn the Eid el-Fitr Day killings in Jos, which was documented on video, as well as the alternative way of avenging the killings since they found the Boko Haram way unacceptable.

The militant leader also denied the insinuations allegedly made in some quarters that a former minister of information, Prof. Jerry Gana, and secretary-general of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and Abuja, Elder Sa’idu Dogo, were sponsors of the group, asking rhetorically, “Is this, then, the job they sponsored us to carry out?”

Former Anambra State Governor Chris Ngige has warned that the recent spate of bombings can disintegrate the country.



The Senator, who spoke with reporters in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area said, "The trend of things now is dangerous and smacks of a threat to the unity and corporate existence of our dear country, Nigeria. This is a potent instrument of disintegration and nobody wants that to happen.

"Whatever their demands are can be addressed peacefully and not resulting to violence. What they have done has given the matter a religious colouration and it does not speak well of our country.

"No religious supports wasting of human lives. I urge the people involved to desist from such act because it is an ill-wind that blows no good."

Ngige lamented that the Christmas season, which is a period of love, understanding and unity, had been turned into moments of bloodshed and arson, saying Nigerians should use the Yuletide to embrace peace and exchange love for one another.

He called on the Federal Government to be proactive in handling contentious issues as security, noting that security of lives and property was a matter of urgent attention.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh, on Tuesday warned that Christians would henceforth rise to defend themselves against religious terrorists.

Umeh, who was responding to the Christmas Day bombing of churches in Madalla and in Jos in which several dozens of people were killed, spoke at the dedication and inauguration of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Nkwelle, Awka.

He said, "All of us are ready as soldiers of Christ to fight and defend our faith in this country."

But Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa called for prayers to save the situation from further degenerating.

Yakowa said, "The church in the northern parts still require your prayers and support. We are still growing. Don’t be tired of praying for us."

The fact remains that if these muslims and northerners choose to, tĦey can help curb the activities of their brothers. After all, tĦey live among them, and tĦey all worship their allah together. There is definitely no way that these muslims up north don't know who the boko haram fools are.
TĦey just don't mind, since tĦey are stylishly fighting their jihad.

Its just sooo sad that innocent lives are just being wasted. I really don't know why the igbos wouldn't go back to the east. I don't understand how tĦey could comfortably live amongst terrorists, among murderers who choose to kill at the slightest opportunity tĦey get.

Let the easterners go back to their home and live the blood-thirsty jihadists. There comes a point when enough will really and truly be enough.
