emmanuelewumi: I know Stanbic has a dollar fund, I think Jejebaba has one with them.
FBN Quest and United Capital are the two firms that I am very familiar with and they both have Eurobond funds.
CBN is trying hard to defend the Naira, I wish them the best concerning this Thanks. Good luck to Emefiele/buhari lol |

emmanuelewumi: I will advise you spread the money between bonds, Treasury Bills, money market funds and Eurobond. We are not sure of the future of the Naira in 2 years time.
If you are like me I will also consider investing in stocks like Nestle, Dangote cement, Zenith and GTB.
N1 million invested in GTB in 2001 is now worth over N40 million, the dividend received in 2018 is over 3 times the amount invested. Please is Eurobond better than stanbic dollar fund? What’s the minimum, also do you know if stabic also offers Eurobond? I’ll like to know your thoughts on dollar, will this current 360 be sustained or do you think devaluation could be on the way |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by chigo4u: 8:21am On Nov 17, 2019 |
emmanuelewumi: Very good, you paid N20 million because you bought from the secondary market.
You will need about N100 million to buy FGN bond from the primary market.
With a minimum of $2500 you can also invest in the Eurobond fund of FBN Quest Merchant Bank @ 6%.
You are sure of the preservation of your fund from currency devaluation Is it only FBN that offers these options, don’t have an account with them. Is there any other bank that offers these |

Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by chigo4u: 11:19am On Nov 14, 2019 |
emmanuelewumi: Returns on Treasury bills should come down to as low as 8% by year end.
I remember getting as low as 6% from the secondary about 4 years ago or thereabout.
Low interest rates and single digit returns on fixed income investment is good for businesses and the economy. I remember when you posted this so I wanna ask what’s the future of tbills, will rates increase anytime soon? |

American Citizens work hard for their money and their TBills rate is 1.5%
In Japan and Europe it's worse, their interest rates are negative.. Value of America dollar vs naira? American inflation rate vs Nigeria? |

So Dangote is now venturing into rice business without completing the refinery. I remember arguing with some people earlier on this thread that the refinery will not be completed any time soon. I wouldn’t know his priority right now. Also it looks like Dangote is the unofficial president of Nigeria |

Things like this and border closure are normal to revamp local manufacturing, force the consumption of local products and stimulate growth. How about the billions they are using to wage dollars? |

zamirikpo: If CBN had sense they should have pegged a maximum amount which individuals can invest
Not stop it completely anyway, let's wait and see if the money bags in Nigeria with huge funds in TB and the ears of bubu allow this nonsense policy.
So now the economy of Nigeria depends on individual's money.
Chai....God. Emefiele is a disaster. Worst cbn Governor in recent times. He doesn’t apply economics in any of his policies just fire brigade |

healthserve: While the Emefiele-CBN's directive is to limit funds in the system for alternative purposes I.e investing in the real economy/sector, its the 21st century and Nigerians being smart will exploit the loopholes.
Since the CBN limits dealing in T-bills to big organizations, its only a matter of time before these " big organizations " create their own banking system to collect funds from individuals and invest them on their behalf.
The obvious alternative is investing in other economies, but then its an excellent move to me by Emefiele. Real Sector Investors helps to create more jobs and promotes circulation of wealth/money better.
Its only a matter of time to address the dichotomy between the digital economy and the real economy. Good move CBN. For once, I'm proud of Emefiele. This thread I think is for tbills and not for those encouraging emefiele to stop it. Maybe create another thread to promote your real sector while people contribute on way forward here please. Some of us are not interested in any real sector even if they stop tbills or not |

IamR: I am not just happy with what is happening to our TBills. See where our greeds have led us now. It seems TBills don dey cast small small. What are they prorating in TBills? I am not just happy. Where to go again? Eurobonds sef no be am, I transferred 13k$, my bank charged me 135$ just to invest in Eurobonds. Withdrew 7k$, they charged me 3.5$; It's like keeping money in Dom account does not worth it. It is too expensive to maintain and naira has been very stabled for almost one and half years now.
Where should we invest now? Any available bond or commercial paper?
Oh my sweet treasury bills is turning sour. Why not try dollar investments with stanbic. Their dollar fund is cool. I’ll soon be moving all my dollar to that. I think Buhari is the one holding dollar rate as it is because all these cbn policies should be telling on the dollar but yet dollar has been stable. Remember Buhari promised to make dollar = naira so I think he’s the kind of person that will do anything to wage dollar rate. |

ahiboilandgas: we will be selling at 143 , we will buy at 133.5 .petrolium equilazation fund pays the transport rate...example if we sell 60000 litres per day (pef ) pays 60000 ×19.05 at claims = around 1.2 m , then we use like 7 naira x 60000 at cost of transporting ( deseal expense) it will land at 140 to the station our profit on the product will be 4 naira x60000 litres (240k ) daily this sum will be used to pay salary and ober head ....then the subsidy the govt pays 19.05 x 60000.=1.2m will be profits So that also means you’ll be transporting the products for the group and getting that profit or are the other investors into that business too? |

So does it mean investors are completely at the mercy of CBN? This porating subscribtions is not nice. They should either say the maximum amount one can invest or return complete money if it’s not successful. In fact CBN should just suspend tbills till they are ready for business again! |

Nnamz: That Instagram clown has more money that you would or could ever make in your life time (your past, current and future earnings combined together). My advice to you is, don't hate on rich people. As I always tell people, do you want to be rich someday? If your answer is yes, then why hate rich people if you're going to be one some day? Please don’t abuse one of the best contributors on this thread. Be guided. And yes those “money miss roads” flaunting fake and ill gotten wealth on Instagram are clowns. |
