EDO STATE GUBER ELECTION: CHOOSING BETWEEN OUR FUTURE AND THE INTEREST OF A PRIVILEGED FEW (POLITICIANS)

Only few days ago, before the Nigeria Police and DSS jointly announced their security Advice against holding the Edo Governorship Election on Sept 10, 2016 the whole world watched with shock, the decision by INEC to reject appeal by over 1000 Nigerian Students to shift the date of this same Election to enable them sit and write their WAEC compulsory Mathematics Examination that had been long ago (since last year according to WAEC) scheduled Nationally and in some West African Countries to take place simultaneously on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016. Interesting enough, Sept. 8, 2016 was "World Literacy Day" that the same Nigerian elites celebrated with all other Nations of the World.

Among these 1000 Nigerian Students are Nigeria's future Professors, Medical Doctors, Engineers, Economists, Industrialists, Scientists/Researchers, Agriculturists, Creative Designers, Literary Giants, Technicians, Technologists, Pharmacists, Biologists, Legal Luminaries, etc, Hon. Judges, Security Officers, Presidents, Governors, Legislators and others. Yet it did not matter at all to INEC, APC, PDP, registered political parties, Religious Leaders, Nigerian Media and even the Civil Society and pro-Democracy Activists in Nigeria that the Students do not write their Examination as scheduled in EDO State. All they cared about was to conduct a so-called INEC exercise called "Election" that aims only to satisfy the interest of the same select few privileged Nigerians who have continued to exploit, deprived, steal and loot the common wealth of over 180 million Nigerians.

I was therefore not shocked, surprised or disappointed that the few privileged elite, the political parties, politicians, Nigerian Media Organisations and the Activists never strongly condemned INEC for rejecting the Appeal by the over 1000 Students concerning their Maths Exam and the future of Nigeria. "Election" their fraudulent elections must hold as scheduled, these 1000 Students can go drop out of School for all they care.

But since INEC postponed the Election based on Advice of the Nigeria Police and DSS, it has become the duty of these same few privilged Elites, Nigerian Politicians, Registered Political Parties, Politicians, Religious Leaders, Media Organisations and the Civil Society Organisations and Activists to continue to focus on and debate this postponement to the extent that it has now been placed far and above all other very pressing national challenges of economic hardship, hunger and starvation in the Nation. The Nigerian Media is awash till now with the debate on the postponement of Edo Election but no serious update report on the WAEC scheduled examination for Edo State today. What a shame!

However from nowhere, help came from Above. GOD ALMIGHTY intervened and set this confusion in the midst of the privileged elite class. Now their special "election" is postponed but the Destiny of these Nigerian Students is not. They are having their Maths examination today Sept. 10, 2016 as scheduled by WAEC.

Fellow Nigerians, fellow Compatriots, can we really say and proudly too, that it would have been patriotic, wise, better and of benefit to our beloved Nation, (Nigeria) to conduct that so-called "Election" on Sept 10, 2016 to satisfy the narrow interest of a few privileged elites (Politicians and their Associates) while jeopardizing the future of our Nation (Nigeria) by rejecting the patriot Calls of our future leaders to be allowed to sit and write their Maths Examination as scheduled?

These events of 2016 EDO State Governorship "election" is very timely and very important to urgently provoke serious debates and discussions in all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria with a view to answering these big and pertinent Questions:

(1) What do we, over 180 million Nigerians, really want of Nigeria, now and in the future?

(2) A Nation for a very few privilged Nigerians of few than 1000 people or a Nation for over 180 million Nigerians?

Now that I have explained all this, do you agree with me when few days ago, I said:

'POSTPONEMENT OF EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP "ELECTION".

I am the happiest Nigerian. It is one news that gladdens my heart and reassures me that indeed GOD ALMIGHTY has come to the rescue of the oppressed 170 million Nigerians.

Please do not bother to try to know the reason for my Joy over the news of this postponement. I will tell us later. But for now just join me in the celebration.

Yes, Nigeria has overcome, she must rise again

PoliticsNigeria Exports Religion, India Exports Cars by chillbabe(op): 10:44am On Jul 11, 2016
By Azuka Onwuka

The biggest country in Africa that the United Kingdom colonized is Nigeria. The biggest country that the United Kingdom colonized in Asia is India (which then comprised the present Pakistan and Bangladesh).

When the UK came into Nigeria and India, like all other countries they colonized, they brought along their technology, religion (Christianity), and culture: names, dressing, food, language, etc. Try as hard as the British did, India rejected the British religion, names, dressing, food, and even language, but they did not reject the British technology. Today, 80.5 per cent of Indians are Hindus; 13.4 per cent Muslims; 2.3 per cent Christians; 1.9 per cent Sikhs; 0.8 per cent Buddhists, etc. Hindi is the official language of the government of India, but English is used extensively in business and administration and has the status of a “subsidiary official language.” It is rare to find an Indian with an English name or dressed in suit.

On the other hand, Nigeria embraced, to a large extent, the British religion, British culture – names, dressing, foods, and language – but rejected the British technology. The difference between the Nigerian and the Indian experiences is that while India is proud of its heritage, Nigeria takes little pride in its heritage, a situation that has affected the nationalism of Nigerians and our development as a nation.

Before the advent of Christianity, the Arabs had brought Islam into Nigeria through the North. Islam also wiped away much of the culture of Northern Nigeria. Today, the North has only Sharia Courts but no Customary Courts. So from the North to the South of Nigeria, the Western World and the Eastern World have shaped our lives to be like theirs and we have lost much or all of our identity.

Long after the British and Arabs left Nigeria, Nigeria has waxed strong in religion to the extent that Nigerians now set up religious branches of their home-grown churches in Europe, the Americas, Asia and other African countries. Just like the Whites brought the gospel to us, Nigerians now take the gospel back to the Whites. In Islam, we are also very vibrant to the extent that if there is a blasphemous comment against Islam in Denmark or the US, even if there is no violent reaction in Saudi Arabia – the Islamic headquarters of the world – there will be loss of lives and destruction of property in Nigeria. If the United Arab Emirates, a country with 75 per cent Muslims, is erecting the tallest building in the world and encouraging the world to come and invest in its country by providing a friendly environment, Boko Haram ensures that the economy of the North (and by extension that of Nigeria) is crippled with bombs and bullets unless every Nigerian converts to Boko Haram’s brand of Islam. We are indeed a very religious people.

Meanwhile, while we are building the biggest churches and mosques, the Indians, South Africans, Chinese, Europeans and Americans have taken over our key markets: telecoms, satellite TV, multinationals, banking, oil and gas, automobile, aviation, shopping malls, hospitality, etc.

Ironically, despite our exploits in religion, we are a people with little godliness, a people without scruples. It is rare to do business with a Nigerian pastor, deacon, knight, elder, Brother, Sister, imam, mullah, mallam, alhaji or alhaja without the person laying landmines of bribes and deception on your path. We call it PR, facilitation fee, processing fee, transport money, financial engineering, deal, or whatever. But if it does not change hands, nothing gets done. And when it is amassed, we say it is “God’s blessings.” Some people assume that sleaze is a problem of public functionaries, but the private sector seems to be worse than the public sector these days.

One would have assumed that the more churches and mosques that spring up in every nook and cranny of Nigeria, the higher the morals in our society. But it is not so. The situation is that the more religious we get, the baser we become. Our land never knew the type of bloodshed experienced from religious extremists, political desperadoes, ritual killers, armed robbers, kidnappers, internet scammers, university cultists, and lynch mobs. Life has become so cheap and brutish that everyday seems to be a bonanza.

We import the petroleum that we have in abundance, rice and beans that our land can produce in abundance, and even toothpicks that primary school children can produce with little or no effort. Yet we drive the best of cars and live in the best of edifices, visit the best places in the world for holidays and use the most expensive electronic and telecoms gadgets. It is now a sign of poverty for a Nigerian to ride a saloon car. Four-wheel drive is it!

Even government officials, who were known to use only Peugeot cars as official cars as a sign of modesty, have upgraded to Toyota Prado, without any iota of shame, in a country where about 70 per cent live below poverty. Private jets have become as common as cars. A nation that imports toothpicks and pins flaunts wealth and wallows in ostentation at a time its children are trooping to Ghana, South Africa and the UK for university education and its sick people are running to India for treatment.

India produces automobile and exports it to the world. India’s medical care is second to none, with even Americans and Europeans travelling to the country for medical treatment. India has joined the nuclear powers. India has launched a successful mission to the moon. Yet bicycles and tricycles are common sights in India. But in Nigeria, only the wretched of the earth ride bicycles.

I have intentionally chosen to compare Nigeria with India rather than China, South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia, or Singapore, because of the similarities between India and Nigeria. But these countries were not as promising as Nigeria at the time of our independence.

Some would say that our undoing is our size: the 2012 United Nations estimate puts Nigeria’s population at 166,000 million, while India has a population of 1.2 billion. Some would blame it on the multiplicity of ethnic groups: we have 250 ethnic groups; India has more than two thousand ethnic groups. Some would hang it on the diversity in religion: we have two major religions – Christianity and Islam; but India has many. Some would say it is because we are young as an independent nation: we have 52 years of independence; India has 65 years, while apartheid ended in South Africa only in 1994.

I am a Christian, and nothing can change me from Christianity. But I think that our country is daily sinking into religiosity to the detriment of godliness. Our land is sick and needs healing. “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” is still a saying that is germane to our current situation. We need more godliness than religion; more work and less of hope; and more action and less of words.

Let everyone tidy up his or her corner first and demand fervently that our leaders tidy their areas of governance. Our nation is degenerating at a fast pace and we need to save it now

For how long should we support this goverment? Ppl cnt pay their house rent, children school fees or hardly eat. For the past years there was a growing middle class now it's gone. We have the super rich and the poor. The country is in total darkness everybody is tired cause it's either heat,Gen noise or they cnt pay their bills will keep them awake. You are probably an evil woman.
Take that from me.
All those bunch of lies you told against this girl just to paint her black, would you say the same things if she was your sister?

I can easily tell that you are angry because she came from the husbands side. It's common with all evil women.

Change your ways when you still can, otherwise you will pour hot water or acid on her someday and end up in Prison.

She broke plasma, broke Toilet WC, really? That hard thing? How did she do that? With a sledgehammer or what?
What else did she do?
She broke her shoes, tore her school uniform.
Bed-wets, fights, never do anything such as assignment?

Why don't you just tell us you want her gone so you can bring your own sister?
I am way too intelligent to believe all the rubbish you said about this innocent girl.
Even Lucipher will find it very difficult to win a destruction contest with this 11 year old girl.

On top of that, her father comes for monthly salary in your place, of course with other incentives such as groceries etc.
Where is the mother in all this?
Do you really expect me to believe you?
No mention of one good thing from the girl, not even to fetch water or cook anything?

Your heart is black because I don't see why you were hesistant when your husband wanted to bring her. Do you know their family history?
Who trained your husband? What exactly are you bringing to the table?

You first of all painted the father of the girl with black paints as if you know anything about him.
Evil thing.

And all you people shouting send her home, do you really think this evil thing is telling you all the story?
Do you not believe that if this is a law court, the girl will have her chance to say her own version.
She never wanted her in the first place and she admitted it up there. She just wanted her own relatives to fill the house. It's common with evil women.
Ow please shut it

u did not answer my question. It's not a matter of dual citizenship it is abt the law that makes it impossible for the nigerian woman to give such to her foreign husband if they deside to reside in Nigeria. Another thing do u know that a daughter of a nigerwife cnt stand for her mother to renew her greencard but her son can even thou she is a widow?
