Please all these personal attacks should stop. Veecovee informed the house he sold yesterday. Of course, he thinks people will start taking profits which he stated this morning, asking for people's opinion. I see his post as a discussion starter. Most responses to that post are simply not in line with the spirit of this forum. While I did not sell, I would still prefer a robust discussion with arguments for and against profit-taking. Let's desist from all these protectionist attitude. Non of us stands to gain from that on the long run. Personally, I did not sell because I am in FBNH for the long term, I believe it has not finished its climb and I believe this is more of a shakeout. Disclosure:- I've been in FBNH for over a year and I am ready to be there for about 2 more years, if I don't hit my price target earlier. So, my views are in line with my investment style. 9 Likes 1 Share |

feelamong: Truth is FBNH is destined for higher than #10. I don't want to hunt any monkeys here but then truth be told, as NPL subsides, the real earnings power of the Elephant will become glaring. Again, I am not expecting this to happen in months but if it happens in months, glory be to God. 3 Likes 1 Share |

locodemy: Bro you still believe FBNH is messed up, don't you? Fundamentals change and your analysis of any company can change. In fact, the key to breakthroughs in stocks trading is listening and watching for changes in fundamentals of battered stocks. I don't understand Oando very well, neither am I putting eyes in it but Fbnh that I understand, I have taken a bet on with over 95% of my portfolio. I am not out to convince you because it may or may not be too late to even enter now. But in a year or two, you'll get a clearer picture of where FBNH is headed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Of the current big four, do you think FBNH will displace any and which one? |
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chillykelly86(m): 7:56am On May 20, 2017 |
Princkez: Bro, I said key takeaways. And I mentioned "surge in PAT and EPS" going forward. That has factored in the 2 out of big 3 loans that are expected to be restructured this year. I wanted my report to be free of personal opinion coloration. But if you want my personal opinion, my portfolio is now over 90% in FBNH and I plan to hold because no one knows the date and time the flight will begin. I also have confidence in the management and what they are doing. I still advice JIJO, short-termers and speculators to stay away. Its a long-term risky play. 1 Like |

Thanks. I was there but I went about 1 hour late. Shareholders were already asking questions when I got to the hall. Key takeaways:- 1. There will likely be big provisions for NPL again this year but not as high as in 2016. 2. Overall, we are expecting a surge in PAT and EPS from this year going forward. 3. FBN is taking a lead in transaction income (Non-Interest Income) due to its leadership in e-channels' market. 4. From what I gathered, (I came in late) I think NPL ratio is currently above regulatory level to pay dividends. FBNH allowed FBN Bank to retain all its earnings. I don't expect a higher than normal dividend in FBNH. They did not serve us item 7 oo, only colder than normal AC and a bottle of Ragolis water at the point of exit. Do your due diligence. JIJO, short-termers and speculators, buying FBNH is at your own risk. 3 Likes |

Please everyone should be careful of unnecessarily offloading at this time. Foreign investors vs local investors ratio on NSE used to be plus or minus 1:1. In fact, it used to be tilted in favour of foreign investors. They largely pulled out because of unfavourable dollar exchange policy. The new investors window could be the biggest factor in NSE in the past 2-3 years. In times like this, such gigantic fundamentals can overshadow any form of analysis you can be used to. In fact, the entrants could play on the other analysis you are trusting on to outsmart you. Look at the volumes, as someone pointed out. This is not to be taken as a buy recommendation but a free advice. 1 Like |

Are the reason(s) for the above one-off? 3. Are there positive govt policies I should factor in? 4. Are there major projects coming online or that have come online since the report period? Etc |

duni04: I doubt you looked at the entire result. While the PAT and EPS are very important components of a company's result, they are not all there is to a company's result. Those multiple pages(some over 100pages) in the Annual Reports of companies contain loads of information. |

locodemy: Sometimes, you may need to do your independent research on stocks. What are your basis for comparison and arrival at your conclusion? Many times, we don't study companies' results, we just take peoples' opinions about the result and run with it. Take sometime and study Diamond's and FCMB'S Q3 2016 results. Disclosure:- I have both in my portfolio. PS:- This post is not intended to antagonize anyone. I needed to add this so that its intent wouldn't be misread, coming after locodemy's last post. In fact, I had made the post before I saw his last post in question. Peace |

People can argue back and forth for all time, the truth remains that if you are trading on a company you don't know its fundamentals, you're gambling. Armed with its fundamentals, anyone knows Oando is in serious trouble. Even their auditors have stated that in as formal a way as possible; he who has ears, let them hear. Oando borrowed lots of money in order to buy ConocoPhillips upstream Nigerian assets at a time when price of crude oil was high and, I believe, based on valuations using high crude prices. That's the origin of the mess. Who knows, someone can turn this mess to a message. But don't count on crude prices, because they may never rise that high again. In the last analysis, you're the master of your portfolio. Disc.:- Yours truly burnt some fingers here(from #30+ to less than #10). 5 Likes |
