Two Nigerians identified as Oladayo Opeyemi Awolola, 34, and Gbolahan Ayobami Awolola, 37, have been arrested and charged with internet scam in Singapore. The two Nigerians charged over internet scam in Singapore are believed to be members of an internet love scam syndicate, and they were accused of recruiting local women to collect money for them. 

They were arrested by Malaysian authorities in Kuala Lumpur last month, and sent to Singapore on Monday. In a statement on Monday evening, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said this was the first time that overseas-based suspects involved in the scams, were arrested and sent to Singapore for prosecution. 

The suspects reportedly recruited two Singaporean women as money mules, to receive criminal proceeds linked to the love scams. The women allegedly received at least $85,700 (RM261, 286) from victims in Singapore, before handing the cash to the syndicate members in Malaysia. If convicted, they could be jailed for up to five years each and also fined.

Zari Hassan, the ex-wife of Tanzanian music star, Diamond Platnumz, has revealed that she declined movie offers from Nigeria because the money wasn't good enough.According to Zari Hassan, she declined all movie offers that came her way because it meant she needed her to move to Nigeria, and the money wasn't good enough to convince her to take that decision.

“For movies yes nimekuwa na offers kidogo from Nigeria, but the problem kidogo it needed me to move to Nigeria. Na shooting is not something you are going to do in a week, it takes a bit of time and some of the offers I declined because the time was too long and the money was not enough for me to leave my family, my work. So ikitokea a good offer for movie why not. I’m talented and I can multitask,” said Zari Hassan.

The mother of five who was also asked if she can be a video vixen in the interview with Millard Ayo, said she is past that age and does not think anyone can pay her enough.

“Video vixen I think I’m bigger than that honestly mtu kama atanilipa pesa ngapi for me to be a video vixen. Yaani I’ve gone past that stage,” she said.

The authorities of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB has finally released the long awaited 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.JAMB who released the 2019 results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination today, stated that they were delayed by investigations into suspected cheating. Registrar of the board, Ishaq Oloyede, who revealed that results of 1,792,719 candidates were released in a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, added that thousands of results were withheld because investigations were still ongoing. 

For people who are yet to see their results, JAMB usually releases results in batches. Here is how to check the result via SMS/Texts;

Cecilia Ibru, the former Managing Director of the defunct Oceanic Bank has for the first opened up on her ordeal in court and she disclosed that the Emir of Kano and former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi persecuted her badly because he thought she wanted his job at the CBN.

The economic guru who disclosed that she got married before 20 and also had her son in January before her 20th birthday, revealed that her travails in court got her really depressed. Recounting her ordeal, Cecilia Ibru who stated that Sanusi persecuted her because he thought she wanted his job at the CBN said; 

I won’t say betrayal, including (Lamido) Sanusi (the then Governor of the Central Bank) himself, but people that I thought would come and help me did not do so. However, God raised other people to help me. Back then when I was in office, if I was at home, you wouldn’t find a parking space in my compound; it was always filled with cars and people who wanted one favour or the other from the bank. But after that episode, everywhere became empty.


One day, a man came to visit me at home and when he was going, there were no security personnel or driver. So, he asked what happened to them and I said the bank had withdrawn all of them on the order of Sanusi. They withdrew everything. He said that wasn’t good. The man asked me what it would cost me to put in place some security measures and I said about N1m. He said I was a popular personality and I couldn’t go around without some form of protection. A Judge at the Ikeja Special Offences Court who ruled on the case of billionaire kidnapper, Evans, stated that he was not forced to make confessional statements. According to Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, the billionaire kidnapper and his accomplice Victor Aduba, a dismissed soldier, never provided the court with any proof of coercion or torture during a trial-within-trial to determine the admissibility of their statements to the police. 

“The video of the first defendant (Evans), giving his statement, was played in open court. The first defendant appeared relaxed and was smiling in the video. There was no visible threat of violence or coercion.The defendants’ counsel did not report to the authorities about the alleged torture before proceedings began. The first defendant’s stories appeared to be contrived for the purpose of this trial. I have carefully taken into consideration the arguments contained in the written addresses, and there is insufficient evidence of torture and coercion.

“I find that the defendants’ statements were made voluntarily. I accept the statements of the two defendants as exhibits and they are so marked Exhibits F and G', the judge said.
