Politics / 2019 Budget Can’t Address Nigeria’s Economic Needs –german Envoy by chinambusay: 4:24am On May 09, 2019
A German envoy who spoke with journalists shortly after delivering a speech at the conference on irregular migration organised by the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja on Tuesday, stated that the 2019 budget can’t address Nigeria’s economic needs. Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Regine Hess who revealed that the socio-economic challenges facing the country is responsible for the desperation of many Nigerians to leave the country.

According to Hess, these Nigerians who risk their lives in the desert for better opportunities abroad, appear not to see a future in their country even though people all over the world preferred to live in their country and among their own people.

She said, “The big question is why do so many Nigerians want to leave Nigeria? Is it not a very hospitable country? Do they not see a future here? That seems to be the case and that is the conclusion you have to draw. So, the Nigerian government should try to look into this.They should make sure the Nigerian youth find a future in their own country. Most people all over the world would like to live in a country where they come from. They like to live with their family and friends.”

Politics / Jigawa Lawmakers Break Mace Over Rules Amendment by chinambusay: 5:47am On May 08, 2019
Jigawa lawmakers yesterday broke the mace of the assembly into three pieces, following a rowdy session over rules amendment. Daily Trust learnt that the tension in the assembly, has been heightened in the past two months as agitation among members peaked over a plan to return a former Speaker, Idris Garba alias Kareka, to office.

However the rowdy session in the assembly kicked off after members raised observation over a plan to amend the HSR as contained in the order of the day, which stipulated that any principal officer of the assembly that was removed from his position through impeachment, would be barred by law from re-contesting for any office under the leadership of the assembly.

Some Jigawa lawmakers who opposed the new amendment, took the mace which when the sergeant at arm attempted to stop them got broken into three pieces. The rowdy session compelled the speaker to adjourn the sitting of the assembly to next week, Thursday.

Politics / Godwin Emefiele: 130 Textile Industries In Nigeria Have Collapsed by chinambusay: 5:12am On May 08, 2019
Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) who spoke during a courtesy call on Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Monday, revealed that over 130 textile industries in Nigeria have collapsed.

Emefiele who revealed that over 130 textile companies have collapsed in the country in recent times due to some constraints, added that besides that, ginners, spinners and about one million farmers who were planting cotton as their source of livelihood also lost their jobs.

“Textile industries used to be the largest employers of labour in Nigeria after the public service, but due to certain constraints such as smuggling, dumping, lack of access to finance and issues bordering on power, over 130 textile companies have so far perished,” he said.

“And today we are complaining about insecurity and kidnapping, the reasons for these are joblessness and hopelessness, so, we need to do something about it. We must revitalise the textile industry to be the largest employer of labour, we feel that we will set the stage rolling, we must come to Katsina State, which is the largest producer of cotton, to begin a process,” he added.

Celebrities / God Understands Sexual Immorality – Rex Omar by chinambusay: 6:32am On May 04, 2019
Rex Omar, veteran highlife singer who is known for his 'adult music', has revealed that he composes songs with such lyrics because God who created human beings understands sexual immorality.According to the Ghanaian singer, he composes sexually explicit songs, because songs deemed reasonable and sensible do not sell. Speaking on the Delay Show, Rex Omar who stated that God understands sexual immorality, added that what humans define as sexual immorality is actually a relationship between a man and a woman which he finds nothing wrong with.

“It is God who created us. God understand sexual immorality. What we as humans call sexual immorality is a relationship between a man and a woman. There is nothing sexually immoral about me writing about my wife. Abiba is my wife. Konka: ‘AbenaMma pa maame’ is my wife’s name. So like a songwriter, if I write about my wife or like a painter, and you see it as sexually immoral; I can decide to paint my wife’s naked picture or half naked picture, she is my wife,” he said.

Celebrities / Premature Ejalucation Might Be 40 Seconds But Sperm Works - Tonto Dikeh Shades by chinambusay: 6:00am On May 04, 2019
Tonto Dikeh who reacted to the controversy of her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill being a 40 seconds man, stated that premature ejalucation might be 40 seconds but sperm works. Recall that in a no-hold-barred interview with Daddy Freeze on Youtube, Tonto Dikeh said;

“At the beginning of the relationship, I never really suspected him because, he had a sexual problem. It is called premature ejaculation. He cannot stay inside a woman for more than 40 seconds. Our longest sex was 1 minute and that is when we had our son King.”

However the claim was trailed with controversy as many wanted to know if 40 seconds is enough to make a baby. Tonto Dikeh who dropped a shade for Olakunle Churchill as he reacted to the '40 seconds' controversy, stated that premature ejaculation might be 40 seconds but sperm works. She added that it is quite different from low sperm count, as one can go 8 hours with a sperm that doesn't work.

Religion / Pastors Buying Private Jets Won’t Make Heaven – Pastor Giwa by chinambusay: 7:35am On May 03, 2019
Pastor Giwa has lashed out at Pastors buying private jets who according to him, won't make heaven as they are working are not working for God but for themselves. The Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, who spoke on Friday, urged the affected Pastors to “carefully read Matthew chapter 19:16-27". Pastor Giwa who warned that Pastors buying private jets won’t make heaven, said in his statement;

“The truth is that, they know they are buying jets to compete with one another. Our God is not a God of convenience, but a God of commitment. Jesus Christ did not teach us to be using jets to preach the gospel.

“Any pastor or religious leader who fails to do according to the teachings of Jesus Christ cannot make heaven, I am sure they know this.Also, I do not want to agree to the statement that we should not judge people. Leviticus 19:15 simply says, ‘ You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbour fairly.”
