Nigayoyo: Like someone said, just mind your business once you get there! I'm a Christian and lived there for 2 years, precisely in Dhahran. There are many Christians there BUT just mind your business and don't discuss religion with anybody! They respect people who speak very good English especially with American accent, so I believe you'll be respected. Tabuk is damn dry! YouTube will be your daily companion after work lol! They've blocked most Christian websites and also ALL porn sites! so NO self-servicing! Cost of living is very low and I strongly believe you'll enjoy your stay there....my regards to the new King o! Cheers! Thanks for you precise response. I was eventually placed in Hail. But I gather Tabuk and Hail have almost the same culture with very hard core Muslims. Yes, thankfully there is a sizable number of expats, in this city, so we all live in expat compounds which are a secluded from Saudi communities, though there are some expats who choose to have private accomodation. As for English UNFORTUNATELY people here seems to be resisting English. They speak very English and if you cannot speak a little Arabic, it can be a nightmare even to get simple things like Bank services. As for Christian websites, I was amused that I can get to a lot of Cathoic websites and I have even tuned into one of Christian channel on their cable TV. As for YOUTUBE, that is the truth, I have now discovered Kansiime Anne ( Ugandan Commedianne ) who has been keeping me company. When I arrived in Saudi Arabia, I got to stay in Riyadh for one week, boy, it was so good. When I got here in Hail, it was real culture shock. Riyadh and Hail people are so different, as well as the culture and dressing is a little relaxed in Riyadh. But thanks a lot, I will keep on updating this page. |

Miami11: I know a couple of people working as house maids the mistreatment they get, chai ! Some get killed all the time sorry TO ONLY respond now. Yes I have heard of maids being maltreated. Apparently it always starts from Oga of the house wanting to taste something different ( black or no Arabic coochie ) and when the maid resists, their all breaks loose. Fortunately I am over qualified for the Maid position, but Maids here really need your prayers, talkless of woman. From a distance I can just see unhappiness in their eyes |

Dear beloved. One down and 11 more to go. Its been a month now since I arrived in Saudi Arabia. Not easy ooo. Unfortunately I was placed in a city in the Middle of Saudi Arabia called Hail. The city has hard core Muslims who don't compromise. There is a lot of adjusting that I had to do, which I am still doing on a daily basis e.g. : 1. Dressing - In this extremely hot weather a woman is still expected to were an Abaya + Niqqab ( to always cover your face when you are in public places ). The authorities don't even want to see your forearm 2. Weather - It is extremely hot and I am told that it gets worst in June- August, and unfortunately I am expected to work during summer holidays. 3. Everything and anything is gender classified e.g. Banks for woman only, floors inside malls for woman only, eating areas at a restaurant for woman only There are massive things I really had to adjust to. Pheeeeewwww, ALL I CAN SAY IS WHAT A STRANGE PLACE Their money is good is you are willing to live a strange life for it. Masonkz and gcfrcom thanks for you best wishes. I am safely in Saudi Arabia. |

Sad news. But if they were successful, they would not even care. They would be sipping pink coladas at someone else's expense. I read that the Australians continued making deals while they were inside jail waiting for their trial. No sign of remorse at all. |

liberty300: Imagine how Nigerian cyber world was like before lindaikeji. Pretty boring... It's a shame 60% of news on niaraland is from Linda or some other sites that copied from her.
@topic, nice dress anyways I think she also copies alot, majority of the times unconfirmed stories as well. She is equally a thief. As for Ini,I like her new body after her weight loss. This dress didn't show the new body well. |

Ochek: Something about this story don't add up. How can all that later part happen in a civilized country like Australia and nothing was done to stop the dude on the street? Too bad the nigger took off already to father land which could spell he was guilty. Buh I strongly believe there is more to the story than alleged. Good grace, it was in Bali not Australia. |

Maybe it's because in some countries where Muslims are the majority,Christians get oppressed. I do not believe that it will all be by choice, but because of fear of execution. In the other way round, in countries where Christianity is majority Muslims get to practice their religion in peace majority of the times. |

Just normal couples with socieatal acceptable age are normally challenged, how much more an age gap challenged relationship like theirs? In the olden day, older woman - young man marriages used to last. These two won't last Ask Mariah Carey etc. |

WisePer: @ChineloSA, thank you for the information. Though I still believe that we will have some Nigerians in this part of the city.
Which area of SA are u based? I used to live in Brackenfell. Well,it was hard or next to impossible to see a Nigerian there. You can find Nigerians in Mowbray or Tableview. They even have restaurants in Mowbray. I moved to Joburg and later Pretoria. I recently moved to Saudi Arabia, though Pretoria will still be my base for yearly vacations. |

Rich4god: LET US GO TO GALILEE: Acts 2:14:22-33, Mt. 28:8-15. In today's first reading, we see Peter as nothing but the fearful disciple we had seen in the past. After the descent of the Holy Spirit, Peter stands in the midst of the crowd and in a firm voice proclaims that Jesus is the Messiah. This "new" Peter speaks in a different and more confident voice than the one who had huddled in fear in the locked upper room after the crucifixion. He has been changed. Why? Jesus gives us the answer as he meets the women rushing from the tomb. His first words to them - and us - are "Peace!" And then "Do not be afraid!" Jesus wants us first to be at peace, to feel the love and redemption He offers us. Yes, it is true and now, as believers, witnesses to this miracle of love, we are asked by Jesus to "go and carry the news..." There are days when we will be happy to do so with courage and joy. There will be times when we will forget, fall asleep, deny Jesus and run away fearfully, forgetting the joy. But He will always be there to meet us with His arms gently open, His eyes filled with love, saying, "Do not be afraid." May the joy of the Lord continue to be our strength this Easter season! Amen! Good morning and Happy Easter Monday!!! Thanks to everyone posting the actual reading or verses from the bible. You don't realise how much it has been of help since arriving in Saudi Arabia where the bible can't even enter their ports. Please continue to do so, I appreciate alot. I must say regardless of how haram Christianity is here, that has pulled me closer to my God. I am so thankful to the Arabs for the relationship I have with God now. |
