Glowingx:

Oakville is a very quiet, cool city, 96% white city though. Child friendly Yeah, car insurance is lower than suaga, Brampton but accommodation in Oakville is a lil higher. Depends on your job in Toronto, by G0 train is 50mins. A lot of people do shuttle, either park and ride or go by bus from house to station and then take train to Toronto. Costs 8-10$ though/train ride.

I appreciate this. Thanks.

Greetings to everyone. Please my Ontario people,is there anyone living in Oakville here? Pls I would like to know how convenient it is to work in Toronto and live in Oakville? I looked online and the city seems ok for raising kids, I think car insurance seems slightly lower than what you might get in Toronto and Mississauga( not certain about this info). Info online tells me that it will take about 37-40mins to get to Toronto. Biko my people, can I rely on that, then for someone who may not get a car immediately, does it make sense settling in Oakville and working in Toronto.

Good morning my good people of Canny land. Please pardon my ignorance. I have come across a few pages where people talk about cargo. I would really like to know, what are these things that are being cargoed? Won’t the cost of cargoing be almost equivalent to getting another one over there? I’ve always had this mindset of selling most of ones belongings and probably using the proceeds to get another one in Canada. Biko I wouldn’t mind being educated on the cargo thing. Thank you.

[quote author=Newmum0615 post=70077589]Nice. I spent exactly 1hr 30mins there. 8am to 9.30am and that was it. I was the only one submitting for PR as at the time I came.

Hi Newmum0615, please I would like to confirm the amount you paid at the VSF office. People that live in Lagos and will submit and collect their passports themselves, do they need to pay the courier fee of 8,050? Also, did you submit the vac consent form? Thanks for always being willing to lend a helping hand. cc@balogunsam

You did not understand her post...

She meant her question (the one she asked you... Pls read it again) is what is off topic. Not anything you wrote.

To answer that tho... If you deliver after landing in Canada, your child gets a Canadian passport immediately. If it happens before, You will need to notify CIC.

Thanks boldinc.

Please how does this sending passport to Accra work? Especially when it comes to getting back your passport? When CIC notifies you that it's ready, what happens? Will it be delivered to your house. Just curious as we are all warming up for PPR. Congrats to all those that received ITA and PPR.

Please if you have received back your passport did you add the IMM008 application form even though your family status hasn't changed.

Hi dear, congrats on your PPR. Please this is totally off the topic. When you put to bed, will you inform CIC and can your baby still be added to your application or once your passport is stamped, the whole process is over.

Guys I was reading on canadavisa forum that during medicals the doctors asked a 4yr old some questions and the child dint respond and it prolonged the medicals of the family as IRCC requested for subsequent evaluations for the child.

Am asking because my 3 year old is quite timid, she won't talk to someone she doesn't rily know except she's in a very jovial mood. Ve bin trying to get her out of her shell against our upcoming medicals but my madam can't just be bothered

Pls those that have done medicals for their kids of around age 3/4yrs old what was the experience like.what is expected of the kids?

My 4 year old son wasn't asked any questions. All the questions were directed at me.

hello all please can anyone help with info on Saskatchewan, please my ielts result in writing was 6.5 does DAT disqualify me from applying under the fsw stream. i got 7 and above 7 in all others.

reading-8
writing-6.5
listening-7
speaking-7.5

i am also considering sitting for the ielts again but since i have the funds i feel i can gun for PNP in saaks and get it thank you all.

Why don't you ask for your writing to be remarked. You will get atleast 7 in it. I think you should consider that rather than going the PNP route. You have to pay CAD300 for it and you are not even sure of getting nominated. Then you can only live in Saaks for some years. PNP application takes a longer time to process. Be patient, have faith and go for a remark. All the best.

My bad! I ddnt read well. I'm used to seeing Listening come first so I just assumed the 8 was for listening. You may have to retake IELTS or just be on the look out for Saaks. If you google Saskatchewan PNP you will find all you need to know there. Cheers!!

No, I am not worried about it (for now). It only crossed my mind when Dupyshoo mentioned it yesterday.

AOR was 31st March and nothing has changed since then.

Wow!!! That's like 2months gone and nothing. I thought the trend was max 60days, you will see some sort of movement. Are you single? Hopefully by next week something should but if you see nothing by the end of June, I think you should request for It. Cheers

Guys. Please I need your advice on WES. MY WES has been completed and sent to Nigeria since April 28. I used the standard delivery method. Is is supposed to be sent to my house address as filled in my WES profile ? Or am I supposed to go for it at maybe NIPOST? Anybody here with similar experience?

I logged on to my WES profile one day just to check my details and guess what I saw on the address..an ABA address". I dnt know where the address came up because I am nowhere near ABA. I just jejely corrected the address and when my report was ready, they delivered right at my house within a week and half. I did standard delivery as well. It's possible that report has gone to another address. I would advice you log on and check the address there.

Hi Dupyshoo, good to have you here. Please I submitted my statement of result in the e-apr reason being that the school made a slight mistake in my name on my certificate. They wrote a "d" instead of a "b". Can statement of result fly? Or should raise a cse and submit my certificate that way explaining my situation. School says it will take sometime for them to reissue another one. I am not the primary applicant but I did ECA to support. Please i'l really need your advice. Thanks

Firstly I'm in Toronto and my job description centers around fraud. The pay is okay, nothing fantastic but this will significantly increase once I get a certification which I intend to pursue. I can't give you the exact amount of what I earn but what I can tell you is that it's between 40K - 60K CAD per annum. You do know that to be a nurse you have to obtain the qualifications first which can take a while. Therefore my advice would be that once you get here you apply for a job in banking which you already have experience in and then attend evening nursing classes or study so you can at least make some money. Yes Toronto is quite expensive but to be honest I don't see any major difference in costs between Toronto and any other cities in Ontario except you want to move to another province. The fact is 80% of the finance jobs are in Toronto so you're better of living somewhere around there. You could rent a basement apartment in a city just outside Toronto, say Scarborough or Mississauga, that'll be considerably cheaper. As for living in a smaller city far from Toronto, goodluck finding a job!

Life in Canada is really good, at least for me. I've lived in the UK for many years and I can confidently say I prefer Canada to the UK. The people here are really friendly and you'll very hardly ever experience racism especially if you reside around the GTA. Also you always hear about how cold the winter is in Canada but you'll never hear about the summer. The summer here is really hot (in Ontario)! Like Naija hot!! This is unlike other cold countries like the the UK where you experience similar weather throughout the season. Also in the summer there are a million and one things to do. Living here isn't bad at all, but that's from my experience.

Thanks Zandora.

Hi Zandora,
Good to have you here after such a long time. Please I would like to find out one or two things from you. Which city exactly are you at? What's your job description at the bank? And how good is the pay? Hope I'm not asking too much. My experience is in banking as well but I'm thinking of going for nursing when we move. My husband is an Accountant so he definitely has to get all the Canadian Certifications. A lot of people have been telling us Ontario infact Toronto to be precise but an Uncle of ours advised us against it. He says cost of living is too high in Toronto, that it's very hard to save. He suggested a smaller city. I dnt know what is obtainable in these smaller cities? Will one even be able to get something decent. What is the cost of living where you reside? You could just give us an overview of life in Canada. I'm sure one or two people will learn a thing or two from it. Thanks

Hi Zandora,

Thank you for the encouragement.

Please I need your advice concerning paying the application fee when submitting the ITA. All my payment attempts have been failing since two weeks now. I have called my bank but they confirmed that nothing is wrong with the card.

@MummyJgirls have you submitted your application yet? Did your payment go through?

@dupyshoo, @Babachi, @40manlappy Please, your contributions are all welcome.

Hi, I think the problem might be the amount in the card. Try and increase the amount in the card and it just might work. It happened to me, I had already calculated and converted from Usd to Cad and that was the money I had in my card but when it bounced like twice and the bank told me nothing was wrong. I increased the amount and my payment went through. You should give this a shot.

Make sure you answer truthfully to all questions. Amended Schedule A. Indicate your past history since you reached the age of 18 (despite what the form states). Specify what kind of work(s) you are doing and have been doing since then. Do not use acronyms. Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. Indicate all addresses since you reached the age of 18. Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. You must declare if you have been refused any visa or immigration applications in the past from any country. Failure to comply may result in a refusal of your application.

Ø Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police certificate

Ø RPRF: Pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee for you and your spouse

Ø Medical: Complete or provide proof of completion of the Immigration medical examination

☐ Updated family information: you must advise us of any change in your marital status or family composition. All family members must be listed on your IMM8 application form. Failure to comply may result in a delay in the issuance of your visa.

Note: Please ensure that all the requested documentation is submitted WITH your passport, not after you have already submitted your passport.

The visa(s) will be valid until the expiry of your medical results or until the expiry of your passports, whichever is earliest. You must be able to travel before the expiry of your visa(s).

As the validity of your visa(s) has been already established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions below without delay.

PASSPORT(S)

You are asked to submit your passport(s) and documentation BY COURIER within 15 days. We recommend DHL courier, using a pre-paid return envelope.

OR

You may also use the services of VFS Global Ghana by following the instructions on their website at: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ghana/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section.

Applicants residing in Nigeria (PASSPORT SUBMISSION ONLY)

You may use the services of VFS Global Nigeria by following the instructions on their website at:

http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Nigeria/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section. If you received a letter requesting additional documents, please use a courier service.

Please note that submission of passport(s) in person will not be accepted at the Canadian High Commission.

PLEASE NOTE: Failure to provide the required travel document(s) within 15 days from the date of this letter will lead us to conclude that you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and your application will be refused based on the information that is available in your file. Once the application is refused, you would be able to reapply, but you would be required to submit a new application and pay a new processing fee. The new application would be assessed according to the Canadian Immigration legislations in force at the time that the new application was filed.

Please note that we will strive to meet the foregoing service standards. There may, however, be occasions when we cannot issue your visas within these standards. Accordingly, you are advised not to commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take any irrevocable action such as selling property, or resign employment until you have received your immigrant visas.

☐ PASSPORTS. Check that:

There is an individual passport for each family member accompanying you to Canada. Children must have their own passports.
Each passport is valid for at least 6 months from the time you come for the visa.
Each passport has sufficient free pages (two required for our visa, plus pages for any transit visa)

☐ TWO (2) PHOTOS FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER: These photographs must be taken with a WHITE BACKGROUND, not be stapled, glued or pinned (you can paperclip or attach them using an envelope). The photographs must be unblemished as they will be used to produce your Permanent Resident Card once you are in Canada.

Photograph specifications can be found at:

www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

There are Passport booklets at the moment. It will only cost you more but I think you should visit the nearest Passport Office with a copy of this letter so they can see the urgency as well. You can get your passport in 3days. The others ones I'm sure you can handle. I dnt know how you will prove that you have paid though because 2015 is such a long time. Maybe your bank can come in here. All the best.

NOC 1111 is better and more suitable because most of the functions are in line with it. NOC 1311 is majorly a bookkeeper/Accounting technician category and generally, a bookkeeper does not prepare financial statements, review FS, or even deal with proper recording of fixed assets (maybe they do in our country sha, lol). I would suggest you go for NOC 1111 which is higher and better than NOC 1311 and more align with the job descriptions below. Both categories are under the required skill level 0, A or B anyways so you should be fine.

Congrats @40manlappy and others! Moving on to the next step!

Assist in preparing various reports that feed directly into banks' monthly management accounts.

Assisting with the reconciliation of the general ledger and providing schedules and support documents for year end audit.

Coding of expense tickets, indicating which accounts to debit and credit.
Preparing and maintaining amortization schedules for upfront interest and other related interests.

Beem4cupid...So if you have tbills you fixed since January and it won't mature till sometime in July, you have the certificate of investment and the bank has also written a reference letter for you for this purpose, you will still have to put in your statement of account? This statement of account I believe should be about 6months. Won't that be too large to be uploaded?

Thank you so much. This worked. I created another profile and adjusted pof to $28,000 then adjusted my passport expiry date also. So I can modify the details once the new one is ready.

But I got the eligible profile on Sunday night and up until now, the job code is yet to come. Please how long does for it take to be sent?

I can't quite remember how I sorted this out. But I know you have to log on to job bank account, change the old reference no with the new one you just created, deactivate that account, then I think when you want to activate it again, it will prompt you to change your password, once you change the password, the entire process will be complete. Look I'm not very sure if I got this procedure right. Try to search here for it, cos I got this same info here. You can just use some key words like "Job bank activation" or just words that could pop up such info. Cheers..
