Christianity EtcRe: Kumuyi Offers To Resign Over Son's Wedding Controversy by Chinwem(f):
I personaly do not see anything wrong with their dressing. But, If the church wants a perticuler dressing, and u r a member there, u have to keep to d rules or leave that church. Kumuyi's son of all pple should know his church Doctrine and obey d rules there.
Well said.......but it's an oppressive man made doctrine which he couldn't adhere to because its just not conducive

Other church members adhered to it for years but now that its time for a taste of their own medicine it's too bitter

If anybody should resign it should be the pastor who saw the dress, knew the church rules and still officiated the marriage

All this 'offering to resign' is just showmanship......same with suspending the son.........trying to appease church members who actually abide by these dress codes and have to make do with crappy wedding photos

Bottom line, don't impose it on other people if your own son didnt abide by it

Should I take her word for it?
No, don't take her word for it. Instead take the opinion of faceless people on a public forum who may not have even had breakfast talk less of money to toast babes

Dear Nairalander, am presently in a relationship with a girl I met a couple of months ago
.
I don't think you re in a relationship..........you cannot 'relate' on this issue talk less of others that are gonna come up

On getting to know her and after we had gotten used to one another, she told me she was a virgin and I was cool with it. Am no saint myself
You re no saint.........nobody is, so why bring this here??

On hearing this I made up my mind that I was going to be serious and did away with all the other girls in my life
Players always fear that the very games they played on others will be played on them .......... Hence the obsession with virginity and knowing who /if any previous sexual encounters

However, d virginity stuff bothers me a lot cos I get the feeling she wasn't totally honest with me. She claims I am the first guy to make love to her but am finding it difficult swalooing that. I have tried to raise the issue a couple of times so we could clear the air. If she admits she has had sexx before I would not stop lovin her but its the feeling that she's lying to me that bothers me. I can't sleep cos I keep thinking about it.I don't want this to be between us but I realise it will always be. I love her to bits but I can't get this feelin outta my mind. I really need your candid advise. Thanks.

She claims? So she's essentially a liar? You re in a relationship with someone who you cannot take their word for..............that is what you re implying.
It seems to me your mind is made up and you don't need anyone's opinion but just want to justify the decision you ve already made in your head. Nothing whatsoever about her character or personality but everything hinges on the presence of a hymen which frankly speaking nobody on this forum can vouch for.

I think that young lady should move on with her dear life and not waste her time on you because you re not worth it.

McLuhan: It amazes me that people still have time for such frivolities as the BBA show. Perhaps it is merely a testimony to our hedonistic tendencies. In any case, I consider it highly harmful to public morality, especially to the sensibilities of the young and impressionable segments of our society. I doubt that such programmes serve any useful purpose, other than perhaps to gratify the voyeuristic yearnings of society's amoral and intellectually vacuous class of debauchees. The sooner such shows are banned the better!
You speak so well

caukerzee: FEMINIST. If you read and observed carefully without your feminist sentiments, you woulda noticed that she's being sued by ethopian lawyers because she is from ethopia. the dude meanwhile is from serria lone. it is now left for the serrialone lawyers to decide to sue him or not.
You re too slow for my liking. You need to remove your feminist- tinted sunglasses that makes you read feminism where there is none. That you just learnt the meaning of the word FEMINIST doesn't mean that you either READ or UNDERSTOOD anypart of what I wrote. All the good grammar you wrote up there has nothing to do with my post you quoted.

1. Was the 'offense' committed in Ethiopia?

2. Are South African lawyers not competent enough to decide if any law was broken on their soil?

3.Did she have s^x with herself?

Nobody is talking about the guy now, did she sleep with herself?

Can she see herself? Silly girl, stupid show.
Christianity EtcRe: Deeper Life Suspends Kumuyi’s Son, Daughter-in-law by Chinwem(f): 12:10am On Jul 03, 2013
dare2think: They have done the right thing? how?

The general overseer was present at the wedding, church leaders were present.

At the reception, they all ate rice and chicken and rejoiced.

After a media exposure of the contrast between the average member's wedding and the GO'S son's wedding, some weeks later, they suspend the couple.

The whole organisation stinks of hypocrisy
It really does.......bunch of hypocrites!

tjskii: I don't like hypocrisy in any form,it is a laid down doctrine in their church that,no makeup,no jewelry,no expnsve cars e.t.c,yet we all saw d pastor's son doing all these things on his wedding day,wat is good for d goose is also good for d gander, let d boy kip his apology,it isn't complete if his dad doesn't add his, after bringing doctrines that mak couples look lacklustre on their day of joy,hez now turnin a blind eye to his sonz activities,I just hope this has opened peoplz eyes, follow God not man,man wil always dissapoint, but God won't

Basilona: I watch celebrities in hollywood and other countries organize balls, fundraisers and awareness campaigns for charitables causes. You see these celebs use their starpower to strongarm and browbeat their elite friends & colleagues into signing huge checks for different causes. So dont talk 'bout the public harrassing anybody. Our celebs are learners in this regard. They could do more and should do more.

Nuzo':
Juliet Ibrahim made very valid points.

1. Why must people be harrassed/coersed into such donation when they may have uncles, aunties and other relations that may be needing their help?

2. And yes, $100k maybe to much for a standard kidney transplant in India. Remember, she owns a foundation that centers on kidney related illness.

And less we forget, how much did Ngozi Nwosu use in doing both kidney and liver transplant?

Nomoreloss and co lost it on this one. They should have listed in details what they inteded using the $100k for. Was it for the transplant and a year of medication?

It actually sad that it took a far away Ghanian to remind us of how to be detailed and transparent.

4. And yes, she has every right to claim to be more beautiful than Kim K. Alot of people in the streets of Bahrain, Iran and even Poto Rico are far more beautiful than Kim K but it has never been only about beauty....your lineage, publicity, location, line of work, carriage, finace, friends makes the difference.

And for the records, I've never seen Ms Ibrahim's movies and I don't wish to see cos I know it will be wack...thereby I'm not her fan.
Oga, park well.........monetary donations aside

As a celebrity who feels need to put mouth, has she and her so called foundation gone to visit him and see how he's doing?

Even without money donations, has she gone to his house to share any advice she may have before coming online and spewing insensitive trash

So now OJB and his team are fraudsters who are collecting more than the needed amount??

She should contact them and get off that bloody high horse

Foundation ko, foundation ni

People without foundation have done more than her useless behind

solomonwis: I am just imagining a scenario of a family of 5 applying for 6 month UK visa. It means they'd part with £15,000 for a 2 weeks...It is unimaginable....tying down such amount all in the name of visiting the UK.

This ogogoro drinking leaders won't wake up to fight for development of the country, all they are interested in is who is supporting and who is against.........A revolution is looming, I hope it won't be like that that of Egypt/Libya.

God bless Nigeria!......Walk away dejected cry sad
