@last poster, thanks for d response.nobody said AA dudes were better tho. at least u answered d question.
FemiATL:
Hold on! Where do you reside? I guess the US based on your posting! Did I mention language? No I said “accent”!
So what was your question---- “Are Nigerian Men Lazy or Just Completely Insensitive?” My answer ----only Naija women who come to the US try to turn the naija men into complete nonsense, just because they cannot maintain a balance between their culture and the new environment they meet themselves. Did I answer you question or you still think I am digressing. Sorry to say your thoughts of how a typical Nigerian man must behave has been affected by the US environment, thus your question.

Sometimes a conversation might get a bit technical so you have to be able to think ahead. And based on the fact that you are not close to the age of marriage, that explains you are a bit immature to understand the depth of a response.
No, u didn't answer my question. This has nothin' to do with livin' in d US or not.

CultureRe: Are Nigerian Men Lazy Or Just Completely Insensitive? by chiogo(op): 7:30pm On Nov 10, 2007
it's good how u pointed that out, only thin' is that am not tryin' to convince anyone. smiley I know my language and i speak it, so i don't need to type it on d internet to convince nairaland members. This is just internet, idk why y'all take evrythin' so damn serious or think u really know someone just thru their posts. I asked a simple question, what did i see, people digressin'!!
CultureRe: Is It Necessary To 'try' And Adapt An American, west Indian Or British Accent ? by chiogo(f): 7:22pm On Nov 10, 2007
No, it's not cool. huh it's funny,lol.
CultureRe: Are Nigerian Men Lazy Or Just Completely Insensitive? by chiogo(op): 7:20pm On Nov 10, 2007
hmmm, chineke!! who forgot his/her language?? again, this has nothin' to do with me. Am not married or close to d age of marriage. I don't know why people can't answer simple questions, rather they start digressin' from topic. phewww,it's ok tho, it's typical of naija folks(there!! i said it), isn't that why someone created a topic askin' why naija folks are insultive?? this explains it all.
CultureRe: Is It Necessary To 'try' And Adapt An American, west Indian Or British Accent ? by chiogo(f): 7:16pm On Nov 10, 2007

killacali niggas don't got accent they speak just like new-york niggas but the only thing diff is that they speak gang language like calling each other cuzz and blood trust me when i was in compton i feelt like i was in new-york if u talk about accent the dirty south niggas got hard ass accent sometimes they make u want to said wtf? are u talking about.
true but that's another case. how wld someone(a naija) who hasn't been there know?? To them, America has only one accent, u see what am sayin'?? I know some states got d same accents but they wldn't know that anywayz. The people tryin' to fake it mix it with naija accent, which makes no sense, like how can u speak in 2 different accents?? just speak d one u know best!

i wish u d same, jare!!!
JustGood:
Seeing that English is not that difficult, you could have written that in better grammar.

Get away and find something else to do. Na by force to post something? The only idle hands like you want to do is to bash Naija. How many foreign men have you been with?

shuo
hmmm,God, why?? bash naija?? now, why'd i want to do that when am from there. It's funny how pple have brain but refuse to use it. See, ain't nobody askin' u to post so if u ask me, u shld be d one gettin' out not me. huh As for ur last question, u don't know me or my age, so be quiet. As for english, u can bet i can speak in better grammar but seein' that this is just a forum, i learned to take it easy because nobody really cares what u speak as long as u're comprehendable. That,i know i am so i don't know why u're confused about my post because i clearly stated that it has to do with a couple.

"When in Rome, do as the romans do" but that doesn't mean u have to make a fool of yourself.

@poster, i've seen such things too.it's just funny to me. yeah, i agree u gotta make yourself understandable but here in America, when u fake accent, u're makin' a fool of yourself, forget what u see in naija movies. Just because everywhere in America, english is spoken doesn't mean every state speak that "english" d same way. There are Americans from here MA who won't understand what an American from CA speaks because their accents are different. There's a new girl at my school from Bermuda, she got a weird accent, nobody understands her like that. See, it's no use foolin' yourself, just be yourself(and i hope that doesn't mean actin' stupid tho) because believe it or not, not everyone would understand u wherever u go, so they might as well get used to YOU. Jamaicans speak with their accents all the time and people think it's cool. Idk why naija people do that tho but if u have stayed at d place for a long time and really mastered d accent, fine but for new-comers, just quit all that!!

@poster; whats wit d question?
what u mean?? i can't ask a question?? just answer, jare. tongue

hbrednic:
yeah some women works more than their men,
but you shouldn't have generalised.
simply put (your friend is married to a lazy nigerian) thats more understandable.

@chiogo
marry a naija man and you will live happly ever after grin grin grin
don't worry, i'll do just thAt. smiley
mamaput:
No
in the good old days when we used to go shopping for cloths with our dad. we would never have allowed him to carry those cloths even if he had begged on his knees.
for the simply reason.
we did not feel that bthey were importat enough to my dad to take good care of them.
he may have lost a bag or let one get stolen etc etc,
am some how sure that woman would never have allowed her husband to carry those bags she would have felt the same.
true for my father but my husband?? he gotta carry it. lipsrsealed am sorry.

In my opinion, Soulja Boy is a sick song and a cool dance 4 this generation. Now, Nigeria stoopin soooooooo low to make that is really silly of them. What do dey mean by; " HATERS GET MAD COS I GOT ME SUME GUCCI SHOES!!!?
Isn't that similar to soulja boy saying, "Haters getting mad cuz I got me some bathing apes?" huh Yea it is a 'sick' song if you understand the meaning behind the lyrics e.g. "superman that hoe" lipsrsealed People just listen to what they don't understand. The naija version is funny, tho, lol, seems to me like they were makin' fun of the song. cheesy

MP007:
what a man can do,, i woman can do better, huh grin
well, that's true but not just any woman we're talkin' about here but your wife. Isn't cookin' enough work??[
JustGood:
If you don't like the man, leave him. Na by force?
Why bashing Nigerian men everywhere? If you don't like the ways of Nigerian men, please go and find men from wherever you like and you can come back to tell us how much they respected you and your relationship.

My point is, there are different personalities to people and no single person or group of people is 100% perfect. While you are seeking out the negatives in Naija men, start looking for the positives in other men. Please go and be with those others.
Looka here, what i posted has nothin' to do with me. Go back and read correctly but when d time comes for my marriage, u can bet it's goin' to be a naija dude.don't let that be your personal problem now. Besides, i never said they were disrespectful just not sensitive. c'mon. english is really not that difficult. smiley
londoner:
Justgood, I agree with you. Chiogo, there are many men from other nationalities who don't do that. South Africa, Ghana, Cameroun, Ivory coast, Ethiopia etc. There are plenty more fish in the sea.
Exactly, u're right about that but unfortunately, i am not from any of those countries and d people am talkin' about here are not from those countries u mentioned either. I would have said "African men" but this has to do specifically with a Nigerian dude. smiley
mamaput:
so from this one man you judge all nigerian men.
are you sure that the lady was not the bossy kind that would not even have allowed the man to carry her bags for her.
are you sure he even wanted to go shopping for her.
I ain't judgin'. I see it all d time and in some naija movies but this case is severe to d extent that he had nothin' on him at all while d lady was carryin' tons of stuff.
davidylan:
You'd think men from other nationalities were made of divine gold.
Nobody said that. I prefer naija dudes to other dudes from any other country or even continent. This just has to do with bein' sensitive or not. simple question. why do people make life so difficult, huh?? smiley
