**continuation** Wearing trousers instead of shorts comes with a lot of advantages, it comes with a larger multitude of juniors to push around, a more matured view of life and also the tendency to start looking at the feminine butt, that is if you haven't been looking at them before #winks. Dolls and I got to hostel after leaving the class about thirty minutes later, not because of the distance between the classroom and hostel is much but because we had a different agenda. We actually went to the school field to meet with some day students who we sent to buy MP3 players from outside school, so we ended up gisting with them for some minutes before eventually head to the hostel feeling so fly because of what we had in our pockets. You see, certain unnecessary things in boarding school are regarded as contrabands and MP3 players are included in the long list so having one was a big deal to us. Anyway, we went our different ways on getting to the hostel after making plans to meet immediately after Dinner so we could go for night prep together. I got to my room and immediately hid my MP3 player where I knew no one would every see it even if you turned my box and lockers upside down, then headed out with my bucket to wash my dirty school uniform. In no time, I was done with that and decided to take a nap before the school bell was rung for the dinner. I closed my eyes for some minutes and the image of Jane appeared before me, in the dream, she seemed to running intensely round a garden even though no one chasing her, I wanted to atleast ask what the problem was but for some strange reasons, I just couldn't as my lips had grew a mind of theirs and therefore refused to move. At this point of the dream, I almost immediately woke up and sat up right panting, why I reacted such way towards a mere dream still baffles me till date. I looked at my wristwatch and saw the time was around 06:10PM, dinner was to start by 6:30PM so I had more than enough time to spare. I wore a singlet and headed to Dolls room to tell him what just happened, but maybe that was a mistake. 'I will be your scape goat honey, because you love me baby, you gave me breakthrough lady... Oh oh ah.. I will...' Those were the lyrics of D'banj's leaked 'scape goat' track that Dolls loudly sang along to as he had the earpiece of the MP3 player plugged in his ears when I walked into his room. Talking about leaked song, I still don't get exactly how songs leak, to my own understanding, a song only comes out when an artist either officially releases it to the public, if he sends it to some friends before the official release date and one of the friends then upload it to a blog, is that referred as a leak when the artiste was the one who gave out the song in the first place. Anyway, that's not really my business since it has nothing to do with the story, its just a thought. Anyway, Dolls was busy washing some clothes as he listened to the music. If we were at home or the university where one can wash anywhere one like and at the same time play music from an MP3 player, that wouldn't have been a problem, but we were in high school, a boarding school for that matter! So Dolls was happily committing two slightly serious offenses and he didn't seem to give a fvck about what would happen if a senior student or teacher at worst walks into the room. 'Dolls! Dolls!! Dolapo!!!' I screamed his name several times but he seemed to have grown deaf over night. I had one of those my evil thoughts which suggested that I picked up a belt and wipe him back to reality but I was smart enough to know that wiping Dolls would come with a price which I might not be willing to pay so I resulted to simply tapping him on the shoulders. 'Wetin dey worry you na?!' He replied startled as he unplugged the earpiece which had made him deaf temporary from his ears. 'I don dey call you since and you no wan answer na' I replied in defense. 'So you dey try talk say I don deaf abi?' He asked. 'Before nko? Na today you dey know?' His question was rhetorical but I just had to answer since I saw it as an opportunity to tease him. 'You don start with this your bad mouth o' He replied and went back to his washing, but this time he turned down the music before plugging the earpiece back in his ears. 'Shey you know say if any senior catch you with this MP hyn go sieze am o?' I asked. 'Tah!!! Dem never born any senior mama well to touch am! Make I die if I give them self' He replied with so much confidence. Dolapo has always been a troublesome dude, as a matter of fact, we both met when we both escaped from a punishment we were meant to serve together after being caught in a naughty act, what we did is a story for another day. Meeting a bird of a similar feather to mine led to us being close friends, so I'll be a learner if I say I was surprised by his response. 'That one na your wahala sha, no be that one carry me come here' I changed the topic. 'So wetin make you carry your two left leg come here?' He asked 'Err... Err...' I stuttered since I was having second thoughts on telling him about the dream. 'This guy go finish me with laugh if I tell am this thing o', I thought. 'Err what?' He asked 'Err... I had a dre.. Dream' I finally replied. 'A dream? About what?' He asked and paused the song he was listening to, this gave me more courage to go ahead since Dolls hardly pays attention to anything I say. 'Err.. The dream was about Jane, the girl was...' It all started with a smile and the next thing I knew, Dolls was actually rolling on the floor laughing out so loud that I was scared even the dead would hear him. He was indeed a drama queen, or should I say a drama king since he is male? 'Guy behave yourself na! You no even allow me land self... Infact forget it, I don dey go my room' I replied pissed. 'Ahhh!! Chistar my man!! You no go kill me with laugh one day! Chai! Wetin we no go see for this school?' He lamented while trying to gain his composure, he was one of the few people who called me by my nickname, although he rarely did. 'I dey tell you serious thing and you dey laugh?' I asked rhetorically. 'No vex jhur, but e dey somehow na, you never even follow the babe talk and you don dey see am for your dream, she don use juju for you?' NB: Juju - Charm. I just stared at him in silence, I was really regretting why I told him and was wondering why we were even friends in the first place. 'See eh, on a more serious note, I can see you really have feeling for this girl and that's a good thing but its also a bad thing too' he continued. 'How is it bad?' I asked in confusion. 'Don't worry about that, you would understand when the time is right' 'Hmmm, so what's gonna ha...' The bell for dinner was suddenly rung. 'Ah! Thank God o, hungry don dey wire me self' Dolls said. 'Abi oh, make I go dress and pack books for night prep, I dey go class immediately after prep' 'Hmmm, lover boy, sha remember to rub powder and spray better perfume too o' 'Powder ke? Maka why na?' I asked looking perplexed. 'You are going to finally talk to the woman of you dreams for the first time in less than an hour, don't you know what they say about first impressions?' He asked then winked at me. I sighed in response before walking back to my room in other. I said nothing because I was lost of words, I couldn't picture myself talking to Jane. TO BE CONTINUED |

**continuation** Whoever name that was called out doesn't really matter at the moment, I'll leave that to your imagination, but the only clue I'll give you is 'it's who you think'. So enough about Junior days, I think I've done enough justice to that, let's talk about my senior years. *** A lot has changed since JJS1, for starter, I and Stanley don't really talk that much anymore, we had a misunderstanding so things with us changed drastically. I made new friends who I'll introduce to you as time goes on, but the closest among them happens to be a certain Dolapo and Efemena. Whereas Dolapo is a cute dude, a dancer, an artist who can draw almost anything and also a ladies guy who as expected is a player, Efe is a pretty reserved dude, likewise cute too but not a player, he is amazingly a faithful guy, he doesn't stay too long with a particular girl but when he is dating a girl, he is ONLY the girl. In the middle of them both is me, am no longer that serious trouble maker whose life style was 'One day, two wahala', but am now a pretty smart kid, I've picked up in my academics and am doing really well, I've also grown to be a tall, dark handsome dude. Amongst the three of us, am the only one who no girl notices, or so I thought. One more thing, I and Dolapo are class mates, while Dolapo and Efe are both in the cross house so both of them ain't in my house, if you don't understand what I just said, read it again .Okay, enough about the introduction. Back to my story... *** Class - SS1 (first term). Year - two thousand and something(200x) Venue - classroom, during afternoon prep. The class is filled up to the brim with boys and girls of SS1F and some visitors from other class who have their individual secret agenda for prepping in the class. SS1F happens to be my new class, as we were all sorted out into - Art, Commercial, science and Technical. SS1 F and A were only art classes. I had a passion for law and probably still do, so I some how found myself in an art class since law is an art subject. Less I forget, SS1F also happens to be the headquarters for fine girls, big boys, bad girls and of course - bad boys. I really wonder how come I always end up in the midst of such people when am a totally good boy or ain't I? *wink* (don't bother answering that, am not sure I want to hear your reply). NB: if you don't know what I mean by 'bad boys' then forget it. I and Dolapo sat in the classroom just gisting about random stuffs when he suddenly says something that was unexpected, thus the following conversation; Dolapo: (clears throat) O boy, shey you know say you dey fvck up? Me: (looking surprised) Me? fvck up? How na? Dolapo: Look around you, everybody for this class get babe, even Richard, that short woor woor boy Me: (looks around and sees he is right so try to defend myself) How that one come take concern me? I no get time for girls jhur Dolapo: (laughs out loud) Oga! Bone that thing jhur, that's what all guys say until they feel the laps of a girl Me: (sarcastic look) Hmmm, so what's your point now? Dolapo: You need to get a babe na, how fresh boy like you go dey single? It's not just right Me: (sighs) Hmmm... Errr.. I get one small problem Dolapo: (smiles as I now seem interested) which kind problem? Ask me and Dolls would solve it for you. Me: (looks away shy) I no sabi as girl out, I've never really done it. Dolapo: (fighting hard to suppress the laughter this is seemingly piling up) wait wait wait! You dey try tell me say you never get babe before? Me: (feeling so embarrassed) err.. Maybe. Dolapo: (can't hold the laughter anymore so bursts out loud in laughter, therefore making everybody to turn and look at the madman who doesn't want them to read) Me: (regretting to have told Dolls about my relationship status) what's so funny now? Dolapo: (still giggling) No vex jhur, its just that its funny na, I didn't expect someone like you not to be able to express his feelings to a girl na. Me: well you expected wrong, (tries to change the topic) anyway, let's just forget about it, I'm busy self, I need to finish copying this C.R.K note before tomorrow, you know say that useless woman told us to copy the whole Psalm 81 into our notes, only God knows what she want us to do with it. Dolapo: (looking serious)guy! Forget the note first, let's talk about your life. Me: (raised eyebrow) hmmm, My life ke? Dolapo: (raises voice) yes, your life!. Me: (confused) hmmm, What are you talking about now? Dolapo: nawa for you o, shey you wan remain single? Me: (thinking) why this guy dey take my matter serious like this na? Shey na by force say I must get babe? Anyway, let me see where this is heading to. (Reply out loud) No, I don't want to, but I no sabi toast na. Dolapo: (smiles) don't worry about that yet, let's find the right girl for you first (sees the change of my facial impression) hmmm, wait oh, do you already have someone in mind? Me: (nods sheepishly) Dolapo: which girl be that? Hope say she fine oh? Me: err.. Na Midstream student o, you fit no know am. NB: Midstream students are made up of students who join a set in the SS1 or JSS2 either by a transfer from another federal school or a new intake. Dolapo: do you think there is any girl in our set that I don't know of? Fine, ugly, fat, slim, dull, intelligent... Etc..? Me: (hails him) hmmm, oba babes!!! NB: Oba means King in yoruba so I guess you know what I mean. Dolapo: forget that thing jhur, oya, what's the name of the girl? Me: (emphasize on 'yet') I don't know her name YET, but... Dolapo: (cuts in) O boy, you too dey slack o, how you go see girl wey you like and you no even know her name? You know what? Me: what? Dolapo: immediately after prep, you go go show me the babe. Me: that won't really be necessary. Dolapo: you dey fear ni? You no go follow am talk yet, I just wan see... Me: (pissed) guy shut up first make I land!!! Dolapo: Okay, I don shut up, oya land na. Me: (sighs in relief) we don't need to go and look for her because she is already in this class. Dolapo: (raised eye brow) really? Me: yes! Dolapo: hmmm, okay, show me the girl. Me: use sense look the girl oh, na that Niger house girl wey dey beside Chioma for that last corner. Dolapo: which last corner, left or right? Me: left. Dolapo: (stylishly looks back in one swift move and face me almost immediately looking shocked and surprised) errr.. Michael.. Me: (looking confused) yea? She no fine reach? Dolapo: errr.. Its not that. That girl name is Jane and... (Pauses) Me: (getting impatient) and what? Dolapo: and... You remember that time for JSS 2 wey one guy give Harold one blow and hin end up for hospital? Me: ehh na, no be that bully, Segun wey blow Harold? laugh wan kill me that day, I dey pity the Harold guy till today self. Dolapo: okay, good, thank God you remember. Segun don already dey on the girl matter... Me: (I asked looking disappointed and sad, I've had a crush on the Jane girl ever since I laid my eyes on her) asin? Hin don dey runs they girl abi na still toasting things? Dolapo: na still toasting things but unless you wan chop your own blow and end up in a cemetery, you better look for another girl, Jane is a no go area for now. Me: (replies confidently) guy! Na Jane I want and if I don't get Jane, ama remain single till we graduate! Dolapo: (sighs) are you sure you wanna risk this? Me: do I look unsure to you? Dolapo: hmmm, okay then, we go start the package for night prep and I no go forgive you if Segun blow me oh, I hear say hin and Bash Alli don they train together self. Me: (laughs) on a more serious note, I don't know how to toast a girl oh. Dolapo: don't worry about that, you don't seem to know how lucky you are to have me as your friend. Me: (sighs) Okay then, what's the time on your wrist watch self. Dolapo: (glances at wrist watch) 6:15pm. Me: prep suppose end by 6:00 pm na, make we dey go hostel jhur. Dolapo: oya na... We both pack our books, the books that we ended up not reading up to a complete page, as we are about to leave the class, I look back at Jane and smile thinking; 'If you knew what I was about to risk because of you, you wouldn't wait for me to ask you out before you know how much am into you' TO BE CONTINUED |

**continuation** They say change is constant and is a good thing but how true is that? At times change can be a bad thing, a really bad thing. If you are in doubt ask a lady whose heart was broken by a guy for a reason and I can tell you for sure that her response would be 'he just changed'. Why am I giving you this boring lecture on change? Well, let's just say the transition from primary school to junior secondary school and then senior secondary school brought about a big change in my life. Firstly, I recalled finally opening the english exam script and seeing '11percent', on seeing the score, I think I fainted or something like that because all I recall was that Stanley woke me up later on asking this; 'Guy! You no sleep for night ni? Sha where my script, Chibuzor talk say na you dey with am' 'Err.. Which script?' I asked rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand and obviously not recalling anything that happened after I saw my score. 'The scripter script' Stanley blabbed sarcastically. 'What?' I asked not quite understanding him. 'Ode! My english script na' he replied laughing. And then it hit me, I instantly recalled it all. I recalled that I had tapped my chest boasting about my presumed 100 percent in english and then opening the script only to see 11, 11?! Like seriously? Who tha fvck gets 11 in an english examination that's mostly on figures of speech, I thought. Then I recalled my eyes becoming to heavy for the lids to keep them open so I decided to close them for a while so that I can ponder over what went wrong, I sat down on my class locker and closed my eyes... The rest is history. Other marked exam scripts came and ironically I didn't pass as I had expected but didn't fail as much as I had unexpected. *** At the end of each session, the first three and the last three are usually called out during the general assembly, so whereas the first three line up on the stage and face the whole school with pride, the last three have to stand just below the stage and try their possible best to cover their face in shame. I personally don't see what the point is in this but 'na so I see am'. I can clearly recall my JSS1 end of session assembly from the colour of the shirt my form teacher wore to the complete names of people from my class who were absent at the assembly that day, don't hail me for having a good memory but somethings are hard to forget... 'This are the names of the first three in JSS1 B: for the third position we have Emeka Ogbonaya. Second - Amadi Chibuzor and the first is Susan Lawal. Clap for them as the come on stage' one of our teachers called out the names during the last assembly. The three of them walked up the stage and was given a golden hand shake by the school principal. Come to think of it, why do they call such hand shakes a 'golden handshake' ? Its not like they would give you a piece of gold afterwards or their hands are made up of gold na? Anyway, I'll let you ponder over that. And by the way, Lawal Susan was the assistant class captain, you remember her right? That chick that used style to ask for my name claiming it was needed for the class register. 'This are the names of the last three in JSS1 B, as I call your names, come out immediately, if you don't, we would assume you skipped the assembly and that would be a big problem for you' the teacher threatened first before going ahead to call the names. Stanley and I stood somewhere within the multitude of students present at the assembly gisting and paying little attention to what was going on in the assembly. We both believed we weren't going to be among the first three and obviously not among the last so why bother ourselves?. 'Michael, shey you know say them don debadge senior Damilola?' Stanley asked. NB: Debadge means being stripped of your status as a school prefect/ Captain. They give the captains badges when they are appointed so when a captain goes against the rules, his badge is taken from him meaning he isn't a captain anymore, I think that's were the word came from. 'Tah! Na lie...' I replied in disbelieve. 'Why you think say the guy no they stay for hin annex again?' Stanley asked. 'Err.. E fit be because of their final exams na, you know say W.A.E.C no be beans, you need to concentrate and focus' I replied. 'So if hin stay hin annex, the book wey hin dey read no go enter?' 'Shey you no say you daft? You no know say our noise and wahala go distract the guy' 'So na why you dey curse me be that? I don tell you before say this your bad mouth go put you for trouble one day, instead of say make you just correct me, you dey curse me first' 'But you daft na? No be curse, na just fact' I replied laughing out loud when... 'For the last position with and overall average of 36 percent I call on Olaniyi Jessica to come forward' the teacher calling out the list called out the first name. 'O boy, I don know say that Jessica girl na olodo since first term' Stanley commented, I just kept quite as I stared at the olodo girl walk up to the front of the hall and face the entire school in shame, I felt sorry for her. 'The second to last is Adeniji Oreoluwa with 40 percent, come out immediately' the teacher ordered but no Oreoluwa came out, it was asif the guy already knew his fate so decided to save himself from the embarrassment and skip assembly that day. The teacher ended up dropping a threat before going on to call the third person. 'And the third lowest person in the class with 48 percent is... ' TO BE CONTINUED |

Hmmmm, about other writters not commenting on their fellow writters thread, I don't totally think you are right about that. When I see a story I like, I follow it long enough in silence because I want to see what the writter truly have under his sleeves before commenting and after viewing, I go back to my ghost mode and enjoy the story while taking notes to make me a better writer, well that just how I view it, different strokes for different folks. Φk♠γ̲̣̣̥., enough of our chit chat, waiting for your next update. *ghost mode activated* |

Nice initiative here. I have a problem with this 6month thing, if you stick to that I won't make the cut and am sure many people won't too. You can make it just a month, I think that would serve same purpose as the 6 month time span in terms of people creating new accounts to boost their votes. Secondly, let's try and use a similar idea to the musical awards just as Kay suggested. Same way that there are awards for all genre and at the same time, there is the song of the year and artist of the year. Same should be applied here where is a thread of the year and poster of the year (I think, cuddles should merge the poster of the year award with this to create unity) @mynd, when you say 'new comer' how exactly do you plan on enforcing that? I mean is it that you check the profile of people to know when they joined nairaland then it they make a time span cut, you check how influential they have been to the section? Or you just pick new threads? Or how exactly? I like the idea but am just wondering how possible it would be. |
Good morning guys, err.. Today updates would come later on in the day, I've got somethings to do this morning(if only I had a house girl or wife) . Anyway, don't be bothered, Ill update as usual only at a later time. And the story officially starts today!! Just keep your fingers crossed. I see you all comments and would reply them when I come online later on in the day but as for now just go ahead and re- read the older comments . |
Just the right level of suspense I love!!!! 101percent!!, nice story bro *intensly following*. I hear and have seen from your profile that you don't really complete you stories and I also know you have promised to complete this but let me just urge you also the same to keep the fire burning for as long as it takes. Φk♠γ̲̣̣̥., down to observations and suggestions. you keep on talking about being different right? Why not be different in the manner you update? I mean, since other tv movie series get shown only once daily, you can make yours twice(say, 3pm and 8pm). I know its gonna be difficult due to your schedule but you can make one quite short and the normal 8pm own as long as usual Also, tv series don't miss episodes for any reason, but you are human and bound to miss episodes, so I suggest you somehow figure out a way to make up for each episode you miss. Err.. This can be ignored since its just a suggestion but try and add a little comedy relief to you story, I've read all updates and I didn't laugh once!!! Its all to serious and tensed up(which is a good thing but in due time, it might not be all too good). What makes an action movie different is the fact that it has all that is needed to attract all sort of audience. Asin, I might love the suspense but nduking might love the twist while sexitee might love the romance, the major idea is link using 1 bird(your story) to kill two birds (all the various needs of the readers) And one more last thing, don't the 'previously on A.N.W.E' take you time to compile, you can leave it out since I believe it is adding to your wahala, your story is very hard to forget so its quite unnecessary to keep on reminding us what happened before since we can clearly remember. In summary! Carry dey go!!! All of us dey your back. @sexitee, you deserve a bear hug for that comment you made explaining to the fans on the plight of we writers. Maybe I should write a story titled 'the plight of a writer' *just a thought* |

**Continuation** As I stared at the rogue peace ambassador laying on the floor with the whole cooler of beans poured all over his body, I became really sad, not because of how the hot beans might have burnt his skin but how such good amount of beans all wasted because of three stupid people were fighting over who would serve. I had no other business in the dining hall and the sour sight of the beans even made me get more mad with hunger, so I just had one last glance at the 'beans fighters' and left the hall quietly after saying; 'hope say una dey happy now?' Sarcastically. I got to hostel and treated myself with a luxurious zape which was made up of cornflakes, sugar and more than enough milk, in less than no time, I forget the whole beans issue. *** The rest of my junior days (I.e JSS1 - JSS3) went relatively well as I quickly adapted to the school life and learnt a lot of things. I realized that I was entering all those quanta because of my strong head and not knowing when to keep my mouth shut. NB: Quanta means gobe, gbege, wahala or simple trouble. In no time, I learnt that when a senior calls 'last boy' am to run with my two legs and hands when necessary to avoid being the last, I also learnt that I need to be a able to turn to a ghost whenever I find myself in trouble with a senior and pray he never catches me, but most importantly, I learnt how to swear for those seniors who were just simply wicked and cruel to me, when I say 'swear' I don't just mean all those casual swears that don't go anywhere but I mean that kind of swear that you wake up by exactly 1am and walk outside of your hostel naaked then you face your butt to the moon before you swear. Its all those kind of swear that makes someone to sit at home for three years after graduating without getting admission, if you are in such a situation, you need to go for deliverance from a very powerful pastor. *** Anyway, the last really memorable experience of my junior days that's really worth writing was that of my JJS 1 second term examinations. I don't mean to boast or lie like some parents who have a dullard child but, back then in primary school was mostly at the top of my class and the only competition I had was one really small petite girl, whenever I took 1st position, she took 2nd and vice versa (I wonder why most petite girls are usually intelligent and smart, maybe that's God's way of saying no one is perfect. Since He didn't give them size, He gave them brain). Well, I expected myself to excel at FEDGO too just like I did in primary school little did I know that FEDGO and my class in particular was filled with boys and girls who weren't smiling. We wrote the entire examinations under a week and unlike the university where you probably never get to see your answer sheet after submitting, our scripts were returned to us after they were marked and recorded by the various teachers. I got my first marked script on one faithful sunny monday morning. It was one of those mornings when everybody but you seems to be in a really good mood. I can't recall the exact reason why I wasn't in a good mood but I know it has something to do with a senior student. I grumbled and fumed all through the general assembly that morning but no one seemed to care and it even seemed like the assembly was unusually long. Eventually, it ended and we sang the national anthem before marching out of the assembly hall heading towards our various classrooms. As soon as we got to class, our class captain who was still that Amadi Chibuzor guy announced that the english teacher gave him the marked exam script during assembly and instructed him to distribute to the various owners. For the first time that morning, I smiled because of the information; 'Chai! That english exam wey I wan kill that day. How them go they ask english guru like me to underline nouns and pronouns in sentence and call am exam? Mtchew, if I no get 100 percent eh, my name no be Michael!' I tapped my chest in confidence before running to the front to join the other people who were already choking Chibuzor as he shared the script. 'Jessica!...' Chibuzor called out the name on a script. 'Am here' a girl with a tiny voice and relatively petite figure replied from somewhere within the crowd. 'Bring it let me give to her' Stanley offered to help, so Chibuzor gave him but instead of Stanley taking it and pass it as he said, he opened the script and just like Jessica had done some diving training, she dove towards Stanley and snatched her script from his hands but she was too late, naughty Stanley had already seen her score; 'Ah! Olodo! So you got 12 percent?' Stanley asked rhetorically and loud enough for everyone to hear, everyone bursted out in laughter at her ridiculous low score, she instantly became angry and picked up a metal which was a broken part of a locker, as soon as Stanley saw this he zoomed off before we start saying 'stories that touch' on his behalf, Jessica ran after him. NB: Olodo means someone who isn't intelligent, I really don't know what language it is o. 'But 12 percent? Like seriously? Maybe I was wrong about petite girls having big brains... But if this girl doesn't have size nor brains, what tha fvck does she have then?' I pondered as I patiently waited for my script to be given to me. 'Stanley?..' Chibuzor called out next. 'Bring it!' I quickly said before Jessica came back. I was given the script and I opened it only to see he got 20 percent. 'So why was he now laughing at someone who got 12 percent, no be the same fail them two fail?' I pondered while laughing out loud. 'Michael!...' Chibuzor finally called out my name after calling about 10 other people. I took the script and went to a corner of the class and opened the script after making the sign of the cross, I'm not a catholic but it seemed necessary. I took a small peek and saw the number '1' first. 'Ah! Na 100 percent I get be that, as an english guru na' I boasted before opening the script fully. I got the shocker of my life. TO BE CONTINUED |

**Continuation** I was in a pretty tight spot and being faced with a quite serious problem on decision making. I could decide to stand up and and be beaten even though there is a probability that Senior Damilola didn't see me or I could risk it and stay put then wait for the worse to happen, that was my dilemma. I pondered over it and decided to risk it, afterall what was the worst that could happen? A couple of fierce stroke of the cain and probably the hardest and most intense punishment to go, piece of cake right? 'Am going to give you give you five seconds to identify yourself because if I point you out, you might not even live to regret it' Senior Damilola threatened. We all looked at him with straight faces, I could feel Kene codedly tapping me while avoiding eye contact with me probably as a way to urge me to identify myself, but I had already made up my mind, I wasn't going to just give myself up without atleast giving myself the benefit of doubt. 'So you all are trying to say non of you stood up when I left right? Okay na' senior Damilola then turned towards Stanley and asked him; 'who stood up when I left? Point out just one person and I'll let you go' 'Ah!!! I have died' I thought within myself as I put on my most sympathetic look hoping it would be sympathetic enough for Stanley not to point me out. Stanley turned and firstly looked at all of us in general then he focused his stare directly at me for a split second before he looked back at senior Damilola and said; 'I was the only one who stood up' Damilola didn't bother asking him other questions, he just said; 'You all can go for your breakfast, Stanley, go and sit down and wait for me in my annex' *** NB: Annex in this context refers to where a small room within each rooms in the boys hostel where the school captains and room-heads stay, the small rooms were initially meant to act as box rooms for the room occupants but the captains decided to take over them. I really don't know how the real meaning of 'annex' and the 'FEDGO' meaning correspond but naso I meet am o. *** I didn't even bother changing to my house wear before heading to the dining hall, as I walk out of the room with Kene by my side I tried to catch a glimpse of Stanley so as to just say thanks but I didn't see him so I just kept on walking, I was sure the Damilola was going to beat 'Stan' out of Stanley's name and that made me feel pretty bad and quite guilty. *** Its quite funny how the atmosphere of the dining hall during breakfast at weekdays and weekends are quite different. While the dining during weekdays is usually more peaceful as everybody are on their school uniform which is made up of a white shirt and green shorts or trousers (shorts for the junior students, trousers for the senior students), so everybody or atleast, almost everybody trys to stay calm so as not to stain their white shirt. The case is quite different during the weekend, why you may want to ask? Well, firstly, most people are on their house wear so aren't scared of staining it; secondly, after the usual long morning of general clean ups people tend to be more hungry and you know what they say about hungry men and angry man right? In addition to this, breakfast on saturday mornings are usually by 10am instead of the usual 7:45am, so you can see why there's a big difference between weekdays breakfast and weekend's. I had barely sat down and settled down when the first prayer was said. 'For the food we are about to eat, we thank you O' Lord!!!' Someone scream from somewhere within the dining hall. 'Amen!!!' Was the simple response he got, the amen was so loud that it made the foundation of the hall vibrate. Praying during meals at the dining hall was another issue to talk about, the captains who prayed saw it as a medium to show their level of 'rep'. I don't know why they thought so but they believed that the louder the response, the more 'rep' they had, stuupid right? Anyway, just as if a movie director scream 'action!' The entire dining hall went all noisy and haywire as people started struggling to grab the cooler which contained the beans in other to serve, I was wondering why a particular 'Shina' and 'Kelechi' were both struggling and fighting over who would serve on my table. 'Na me first carry the cooler!' Shina said. 'Na everyday you dey serve? No be you serve throughout yesterday?' Kelechi fired back. 'So? How that one take concern you? Na me first hold cooler so na me go serve' 'Tah! E better make nobody chop today than for you to serve again, after you strike me yesterday, you wan strike me today shey?' Kelechi replied. They went on and on and on exchanging words at the expense of others on the table until an aspiring peace ambassador interfered; 'Oya, if una two no wan serve, bring am make I serve na, my belle don dey sing song o' 'Tah! That one na story!' Both Shina and Kelechi fired at him in unison. It was quite funny and I wanted to laugh but I was experiencing that kind of hunger that makes you loose your ability to laugh or even smile. The next thing I know, the peace ambassador, Shina and Kelechi were all dragging the cooler round the table so fiercly that I became scared of the food pouring. Mentally I was like 'if to say na eba and soup wey dey that cooler I no go too vex if e pour but if this bean pour, wahala go dey oh' My fears became reality when it all happened so quickly that no one could stop it. Kelechi drew the cooler toward himself and Shina pulled it back, just as the rogue peace ambassador wanted to drag it, both Shina and Kelechi left the cooler and he over dragged it, the next thing we knew... GBOAH!!! peace ambassador was on the floor with the entire content of the cooler all over his body. TO BE CONTINUED |

**continuation** So there we all stood, about thirty of tiny Jss 1 chadians, looking at Senior Damilola as if he spoke in spanish or some foreign language. NB: Chad house - Chadians, Nigeria - Nigerians , get it? If not, forget it.'I said who that bastard that block on the bathroom floor?' He asked once again with his voice still regulated and not raised due to anger, he sure was doing a great job in keeping his cool. As expected we all started at him expressionless like zombies, and at this point he lost his cool; 'You are all deaf abi? Or am I speaking in tongues?!' He asked for the third time literally screaming at us. 'Err.. Errmmm.. Its not me oh.. Am not the one.. I've not even blocked since last week oh.. I blocked in the toilet oh..' We all poured out our different excuses, some reasonable and others just so unreasonable and simply uncalled for. 'You people don't want to talk abi? I have your time today. Sit down on. Straight file at the center of the room and wait for me' he replied our silly replies and stormed out of the room to probably call the devil himself. As soon as he walked out, it took us less than thirty seconds to get sitted but there was a slight problem; nobody wanted to be the first person on the queue and we kept on shifting backwards one by one until we were all at the extreme wall. I knew this would warrant more punishments or beating or maybe both but what do you expect me to do? Bell the cat and move forward? I think not. *** You know that moment when you sit so long on a hard surface that your butt starts to ache you? I alongside my peers were experiencing that moment since senior Damilola was away for over an hour. It was already time for breakfast and I was sure we were all very hungry, who wouldn't be after having such a hectic morning. Few minutes later, the hostel that was initially filled with students running up and down and making noise was now as silent as a graveyard due to the fact that everyone or almost everyone had left for the dining hall except us. 'So na so this guy wan punish us abi? Instead of make hyn beat us and forget about the whole matter, hyn want make we starve to death. Make I even ask person wetin we suppose chop for dining hall this morning?' I thought to myself as I looked around for any familiar face, luckily for me, Kene was at my immediate side so I asked; 'Guy, wetin dem they serve for dining hall this morning self?' 'Na bread and beans o' he replied 'Ah! Beans ke? My favourite food? Hmmm, if na joke wey this Damilola they crack make him stop am o, if I miss this meal, I go swear for him ancestors and generations' I mumured. Another five minutes later, I was already running out of patience since I was aware they would soon say the first prayer at the dining hall and then the gates would be locked so I started contemplating standing up and going to the dining hall. A part of my mind said 'Guy better stand up and go and eat o, if you no chop you fit die before your time' while the other said 'better obey senior Damilola o, after all the wahala you don enter you still one add another one'. I weighted my options and came to the conclusion that I was going to stand up and go and eat, that way, even if Senior Damilola catches me and decides to kill me, I would die a happy man, and after considering the fact that the food I ate last was my best food, I would truly die a happy man indeed. Just as I was trying to gather enough courage to stand up, Stanley suddenly let out a loud hiss as said 'I don they go dining hall o, if una like, make una stay here die while senior Damilola fit don already dey dining hall they chop by now' he stood up and started walking towards the door. I had a second thought hoping someone else would follow him before I then follow so that if senior Damilola catches us and decides to kill us, we would all die together (I heard dieing is a really boring thing so it won't be bad to have some companions around). To my greatest surprise, no one stood up and followed him; 'What a liverless bunch' I thought to myself as I placed my hand on the floor to aid me in rising from the floor, just as I was about to stand up fully stretched... Something unexpected happened. First it was Stanley who walked back into the room with a look on his face which I don't know if I should call fear, regret or simply emotionless, as expected, I opened my mouth in an attempt to ask him what was wrong only for senior Damilola and two other stern looking seniors to suddenly walk into the room right after Stanley, all three held two big sticks each. I quickly sat down on the floor as quickly as I could and bowed down my head praying he didn't see me standing but I was too late, or so I thought. He looked towards my direction and said; 'If you know you stood up when I left, identify yourself because if I point you out myself, you would be in a bigger mess' TO BE CONTINUED |

It was a tearing sound. Her clothes came off her exposing her not too clean white bra. My mouth hung open. Who did that? I had no answer so I looked on. The girl squatted, opened her bag, took out a wrapper and covered herself. She really had a mobile boutique I mused as she brought out another shirt and changed there. Right on the line.
