Hi guys, I was just strolling round NL and this thread caught my attention. You guys are doing a great job with the way you assist each other the best way you can.

I'll really love to study abroad (canada specifically) but I know absolutely nothing about it.
I'm just a UNIPORT undergraduate and considering the bad educational system in Nigeria, I really would love to try other options.

I'll really appreciate if someone... Anyone can give me a "Beginners guide" to studying in Canada. Am not proud of it but please note that I know absolutely nothing, so I may ask a lot of questions that you guys might find annoying, please bear with me.

OchukoII: Hello Guys. I did my medicals and I also got instructions to pay fees and board. I have two issues here.
1. My school you pay online and only when it tells you you have money to pay. When I was given the option, I paid (4k) now I mailed the school to tell me the balance and enable me pay somehow so them fit give me letter to CDHC. They have not responded.

2. I do not intend to stay on campus and I wanna get a place close to school (UBC). They also said I have to be on ground to sort that one out. How do I explain this to CDHC?

fadedayo: Hello folks. I was just filling out the online questionnaire on the cic website. There is a question I feel might be a trick-question and need you guys to help determine the "politically correct response".

Question is "Is work an essential component of your studies?"

The Humber Global Business Management says "There are two, flexible four-week work placements (160 hours minimum each): one in the first year and one in the second. They are designed to give you the hands-on practical work experience that employers desire. You may use these placements to try out different career fields and organizations or to specialize in one area. The choice is yours."

If I answer 'yes', it will be the truth but they might think that is the reason for opting for the program. If I answer 'no', they will probably know I'm lying. What to do guys?

apple08: Oh was it that period that they said they had software break down or something? Cuz when i went for my meds at CP, some people were refered back for a redo saying that CP claimed their software had issues so they couldnt process some meds to be sent to france so they had to come back and they paid 28k again.

gracefulqueen: I just got my medical instruction today it was sent to my email,I am just wondering how to go about the passport thing( I am required to take my passport with me for the medical) since i submitted it with my visa application.
N.B My visa type is for a live in caregiver I submitted my visa application in June.
