laureek: It is a ghen ghen o.just got my trv.got to their office around 12 and filled the enquiry form.waited and waited but they eventually called my name around 4:10p.m to come in and it was handed over to me.so grateful to God.He is awesome.
Also to everyone who has been helpful and encouraged us all,the awaitees,Good news will continually be your portion by God's grace.
Meanwhile my visa is still being processed on the site o.The tension is real guys.A guy was called and told he should go home cos they are still working on the 22nd of may (the day I submitted).I'd advice those that did their medicals btwn 22nd-27th of July to go there if you haven't received yours.A woman submitted her application online and daughter's on the 15th of july online and was called 3days after for medicals and she collected her visa today.
That's not even up to 2months.those I met there today and got theirs have been on their neck.
Wow!! Dis is amazing....congrats....i double tap from ur blessing....have a wonderful stay in canny....and please cum back after studies ooo....lol..

Quick question; what method of application is better, paper route or online. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/apply_online.asp
Infact has anyone applied online, and if not why nothuh[/quote]Bro lets do sum calculations here paper route= fast and slow response, online route= fast and fast response....which do u tink is the best?...tonnes of guys on dis thread have used d online route system and have all been cleared.....its a matter of choice which u wana go for paper or online?.....you can go paper now...but if ur plan is to submit late then online route is d best.....

Cavenchy: Hello Nairalanders, Is this thread only for intending/extant students, or for visit and work visas too? I've got just little idea abt how the Canadian visa system works for non study applications. Been helping out on the Uk pbs thread and would love to do same here if I'm told the details, I learn very fast so a link or two to direct informative sites about how the canadian visa system works will be appreciated. So that I can help other folks on here.

dommakavelli: bro, i no mind dat 30CAD job o.....that's 600 per week mhen!! Owo Ta bua grin

n Is there any law that says person no fit work formore than 20 hours.. I don't think so jare.

3.1 Number of working hours

If approved for a work permit, students will be entitled to work up to 20 hours a week during the regular academic year, as long as they are registered as full-time students; and full-time during scheduled breaks (e.g., winter or summer holidays, reading week).

*Although there is no legislation or policy preventing students from working 20 hours a week on campus and 20 hours a week off-campus, DIRs should discourage students from working more than 20 hours a week, reminding them that they must study full-time and maintain satisfactory academic standing in order to remain eligible for the program.

Some intensive programs may not have scheduled breaks or may have a break specifically for that program. Students participating in such programs would, therefore, be limited to working a maximum of 20 hours a week during the entire period.*

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/guide-dir.asp
lol @owo ta bua.....just saying noni...i have tried making research to see if an on campus jobs pays dat much but d least i could get was $7 - $15 an hour...he might be lucky to get one of $30 which was why i wrote dat in d 1st place....for the off campus work permit, one of the criterial is to have studied full-time for at least 6months....am only sayin he can work on campus within dat 6months b4 applying for offcampus work permit provided he has valid study permit....and he is also talking about paying fees which i assume would be within d 6months of working....and even though u cant just begin to work wen u land canny Gbam!!! na...u still have to battle with some adjustment for at least one or two months b4 even thinking of working which is also within d 6months ooo!!...dats why i said he should package well b4 leaving naija.....

sexymma1: Thanks very much, must fees be paid before leaving the country, want to know if i can work and pay the fees over there
Not neccessarily you pay fees but sch might demand you pay some little deposit to show commitment and at sum point embassy might instruct u to pay a year tuition fee to convince dem u'r finacially capable....as for d work it depends on how much u can earn for 20hours per week for the first 6months in canny......if u get a job dat pays u $1000 per hour on campus den why not, u can pay ur fees and even pay mine join....but u see as a student,d highest amount of job rate u can get is $30 per hour job on campus....do d maths and see if that can really pay ur fees..also put in mind that bills, feeding, miscellenous expenses will be there staring at u so please package wella before u leave naija oo......carlenton uni do not require toefl as well......
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by ChriGo(m):
sexymma1: Full-time and part-time admissions, what do those mean
full time and part time is same meaning we call it here in naija...but please note that embassy wouldnt allow you leave all d way from naija here to go study part time course in canny...dem go bounce u....so please choose a fulltime course to avoid yawa!!!.......

Onye oma: You'll make some adjustments and include that you're coming back home after studies..

I advise you go to the agent to provide you with his check list and then read up from PART 1-4 of this thread to put you thru

Onye oma: If ur course is a 1-year programme, $40k is a nice one and will sail thru...
If ur course is a 2-year programme, what proof will you show CDHC that you'll be able to take care of urself in the 2nd year?? (That is why I brought up the CO-SPONSOR addition)

From what I observed about the "SPONSORSHIP NOT CREDIBLE" stuff, CDHC:
If an applicant presents an S0A (even though a good one) without any source of income to show that there is subsequent inflow of cash, it might lead to the above reason (be the sponsor self or parent).

Some members in this thread have witnessed exactly the same reason for denial just last/this month...
Dats true oga mi but sometimes cdhc are comedians u knw!!! Read of sum1 on dis same thread with balance of 70m with good cashflow and good coy acctn and still got denied for financial reasons...and also sum1 with statement of account of 2.5m with no source of income got approved.....just wondering what they really look out for in visa applications....its gud to package well sha.....nice 1 oga mi.....

sexymma1: thanka. I would do that. Please which schools do not require Toefl, coz most i see ,ask that.
Virtually 90% sch's in canada do no require toefl from naija applicant...they waive it....so do not border ursef abt it....why not give the name of instituition so that peeps here will tell u if u need toefl or not...

equlibrium: Wow!!! Na wa oh.
I don't hav any relations I can use brov.
U knw hw it is nw, went to sch, wrkd my ass off, got a dead end bank job, saved all my salary, nw I'm off hopefully, don't had a co-sponsor walahi.
No d bank wnt payroll me wen I'm away cos dey don't want mi to leave in d 1st place and d program is 14k plus 10k living exps, BT I have abt 40k savings.
You can sponsor ursef...even those who used dad as sponsor got 'SPONSORSHIP NOT CREDIBLE'....wonder why!!!...make ur statement of purpose ur friend...pour out ur expression in it...tell them why you wana further abroad and show them prove u would cum back after studies.....i tink with 40k u'r gud to go....just prove u have sumtin on ground to bring u back(wifey, kids, siblings, mama, papa etc)....
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by ChriGo(m): 7:02pm On Aug 25, 2013
sexymma1: Thanks for all the wonderful posts here. I have a few questions.
1. Is it possible to apply for a one-year program, i mean i have a b.tech in maths and computer and want to apply for a college post graduate diploma, coz it's a bit cheaper and any recommended schools.
2. Is Toefl a criteria for all schools in Ca.
Tnks for all responded
Yes its possible to apply for a 1year program but a 1year program only fetches you a 1year work permit...if ur plan is to stay back and relax in canny den go for a 2yr program to get a 3yrs work permit...after u must have worked for two or three years you can then apply for ur permanent residence...but i doubt if a 1yr course can fetch u this kinda goodies except u want to go through a provincial nominee program to get ur permanent residence straight up..buh dis route is sumtimes nt credible but dia is nothing God cant do.....be rest assured dat with d 2yrs course u'r good to go....check www.cic.gc.ca ....u dont need toefl ....

Yes u can make january session sir....and u can also apply as a self sponsored provided you prove to embassy u would cum back after studies(home tie)....i would advice you go online route to avoid waiting forever for responce...not saying paper route isnt good but as a matter of fact i have not seen any1 here on dis forum complain of long wait response frm cdhc be it denial or approval.....
