Canada Visa Application

For new Applicant/new nairaland members trying to submit a Canada Visa Application, these are what you need

1. Visa Application Forms (downloadable on www.cic.gc.ca , www.nigeria.gc.ca ).
2. International Passport.
3. Passport on white background(35x45mm)
4. WAEC certificate, University Certificate(if going for a postgraduate),School’s Transcript, NYSC Certificate
5. Birth Certificate (Original for Applicants).
6. Sponsor’s Bank statements(For the past 6-12 months)
7. Letter from the sponsor’s bank
8. Letter from sponsor’s place of work (if Sponsor is in Employment) or original certificate of Incorporation from CAC, Certified copy of Forms CO2 and CO7 for sponsor(if in Business).
9. Any other supporting document – Shares on cscs, Property Valuation or deeds, fixed deposits certificate, etc
10. Marriage certificate of sponsor or parents.
11. Birth certificate/declaration for sponsor.
12. Family Pictures(optional)
13. Affidavit of support sworn by Sponsor (Notarized by Notary public).
14. Police Clearance Certificate.

In respect to no 1 above the forms are
-Application form
-Spouse/common law partners form(if married)
-Family information form
-Student Questionaire(This is not a form but to be printed direct from Canada Embassy website on your browser)

bumdish: Yea and my cursory look tells me they kindof give quick approval/rejection to clear cut applicants once their turn is reached but once an application is flagged/not clear-cut, it enters another queue, hence the delay. Seems to be the trend in past years too. Huzzie's list might help to decode better.

Bros na to relocate go the country but also to get ther education as most employers usually prefer people with canadian work experience. Path of the reasons why i'm looking for programs with internship. Naija us not looking good for the future kids. MUN looks good but i have not applied there yet. Thanks again.

I'm making a case for myself at Victoria based on my years of experience and all. Still hoping to hear from some other schools sha like Ryerson University, Simon Fraser and co. Thanks again.

Boss that seem to be a reasonable chance to bag an admission with funding...but i dont tink ur Gmat will be in d ball-park of guaranteed admission spot into top-tiers universities like uni of toronto,mgril uni,uni of manitoba no matter how good ur work experience might be but you can still try out sha cuz i believe sum doesnt really have strict cut-off...but i can gaurantee dat with schools like uni of ottawa,uni of calgary,memorial university of newfoundland you can be able to bag a spot with ur vast work experience.....but bros!! wait a minute oo,alot peeps go to canda for different reasons..i want to believe the only reason u wana go to canada is for study purpose alone if not den why not try out d work experience class permanent resident in any of the province ?...just saying ni....Wish u all the best sir

I am quite happy i stumbled upon this thread while trying to figures out what to do with my plans. Apparently no one here seem to have a similar issue as I do or at least the few I read.

First, i have been working in Nigeria for like 5yrs and presently earn about N380k monthly minus bonuses and all. Through must of these i have been able to save up for my MBA and written GMAT. I'm applying to the University of Victoria (sept 2014). The tuition is about $33k (N5million). My issue is that i do not have a sponsor to support my visa application. However, i hve been able to save about N6million so far for tuition and living expenses. Another N1.2million in my retirement savings account. Kindly advise if I still need a sponsor as my parents are retired and do no wish to start disturbing Uncles and Aunties for sponsorship.

Is it possible for me to be my own sponsor, considering that i have my tuition and living expenses in my account. Your response will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes its very much possible to sponsor ursef...ur financial profile seem very okay but please would love to ask if u were given any funding option sir? If no den u still got some little more work to do...there are other universities in canada offering this same course with funding...check out university of manitoba,uni of alberta,mgrill university,university of saskachewan,lakehead uni,brandon uni,uni of calgary,uni of winnipeg,university of toronto and there are still more....most come wit funding option to ease u up a bit wit the tuition and like i said earlier, u do not need a sponsor..u are capable of sponsoring ursef...all u need do is provide good home tie to the embassy when applyin for ur visa....sept 2014 is still a long time so u have time to explore more universities...Bros i no mind tapping from dis ya kolo(money) na...i gat my pipe here if u let me......

Gdjay: Hello people, I'm still in the process of applyingfor admission from Brandon University,but now see me see o, I can't seem to get through to them either by phone or mail, it seems a'll of their staff are on break, my emails get replied with ' I'm on vacation, pls write so and so person, whose mail then tells me exactly the same thing to email the next person whose email will tell me the same, also I can't get through to them on the phone. Federal government at it again..watching d news and got information about federal government giving out scholarships to best students to study in canada...university of toronto and Mgrill university to be precise...sharing dis info to peeps who get leg for federal parastaters and looking for schorlarship should follow up on this....they are really serious about it the way am seeing dis cuz oga jonah sef dey toronto...uni of toronto looks really beautiful...i was able to get a feel of it...

I discovered somethings that some people do actually send there visa application package through courier service like dhl,fedex,etc without return evelops straight to embassy...i would advice to please use vfs global recommended by embassy for dis visa purpose...reason why i said this is because some times cdhc makes mistake with email address in sending medical instruction notification...u would later discover u have been called for medics but ur mail got to the wrong inbox..and embassy would expect you to cum pick up ur package since dey believe they have already sent you email... I know this is not a common scenerio but someone just sent a mail to me concerning that...thanx..
