Icon79:Ayo Akinfe will never change. He has so ridiculed himself on CE that other members now see him as a persona non grata. I never believed he would go as far as posting that trash on that forum after he made it out and posted it on CE a day after the draw was held. He is a writer for owngoalnigeria.com, and any time u see ten points, ten reasons/things on either of CE or owngoalnigeria.com, don't bother guessing the writer, it is Ayo Akinfe again. |
komekn:Make we hear word abeg. Gomez nullified Neymar. Do u care to see other league matches besides the EPL at all? Nantes against Psg, Awaziem single-handedly rendered Neymar useless, at the end of the day, Unai Emery and Psg president went complaining to the France FA and the referees Union (whatever the body is called), that Neymar needs protection from no joy (no nonsense) players like Awaziem. In essence, getting Neymar nullified in a match ain't no big deal. If u say it ain't no mean fit, thats cool, but remember people have been doing it without making noise unlike Gomez and the English media (u inclusive). |
Certitude:Quite a pity man. I pray God gives the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss and may his soul RIP |
If u haven't been keeping tabs on Osimhen's development, I advice you do. I'm so happy that he is now developing rapidly off the media. Dude is seriously pushing for a starting berth at Wolfsburg, and I can see him starting before January ends. I was marveled by his rating in his cameo in their last match but he did even better tonight. He was introduced in the 89th minute and has a whoscored rating of 6.2 ahead of the guy( Didavi 6.1) he subbed. As if that wasn't enough, he has a better rating than Origi 6.0 who came on earlier for Mario Gomez in the 67th minutes. He played behind the main striker with neither an assist nor a goal, how come the massive rating against RB LEIPZIG? Rohr's boy |
A Pointer ; please what's Deportivo B's position in the Segunda B? Did u know that Uzoho, with his heroics between the sticks, is on the verge of promoting his team to the Segunda division where Ondoa is a bench warmer? Dude didn't get demoted because he was poor, only the coach knows why he sent him back to the B team. He is definitely better than Pantillimon and will be taking Panti's place in the first team to contend properly for the first choice when Panti's loan expires by the end of the season. Dude is also about the best goalie in the division he currently plies his trade. 7cleansheets in 10 appearances no be beans. Even Enyeama who just came back, conceded in a division lower than this Segunda B. Not comparing the two but if Enyeama failed to turn up, Uzoho gets my nod. |
tbaba1234:God have mercy!! Keshi why ![]() |
Joel obi was a 75mins sub as his Torino side beat Lazio in Rome. Obi has a 6.0 rating Lazio 1-3 Torino. Kayode not in match day squad as his Liga side Girona secured a vital three points away from home. Español 0-1 Girona Awaziem conspicuously missing from the match day squad as his Nantes side succumbs to OGC Nice. He initially made the starting lineup but was later dropped after picking a late injury during warm-ups before match. Nantes 1-2 Nice Etebo was the worst outfield player for his side, with a rating 5.9, as they lost away from home at Guimares. He played as the second striker. His compatriot (alampasu) at the Portuguese team, once again didn't make the match day squad. Guimares 1-0 feirense |
Fringe super Eagles forward and Leicester U23 star, Ahmed Musa put in a full shift today as his youth side came from behind to beat their Everton counterparts 2-1 in the premier League two which is equivalent of Spanish/German regional leagues as it is a developmental league unlike the championship, league 1&2. |
Vincent Enyeama played his first match today, though for the U23s. Expect him with the main team soonest. My choices remain Enyeama, ikeme and uzoho. It will never change. I will never give up on Ikeme |
How come nobody talks about Sarenren Bazee no more? I thought he came back from injury two weeks ago, why hasn't he been playing? Isn't he match fit yet? Tbaba1234, Joebie et al |
elyte89:Bereaved my left nyash. U dun ridicule my post several times I ignored but I wanna call u out today bkus e dun too much. I expected/expect better contributions from u like elyte(elites) do. In here, try to live up to Dat ur sweet moniker young man or... ![]() |
Ndidi is a warrior. Did u see how he took out those two guys? I don't think Africa has a better DM presently who is of same age with him. Did u see that nasa pass (the assist)? |

elyte89:U r reputed for throwing subtle jibes here and there, getting over urself thinking u r funny. It ain't funny no more bro. U hardly contribute anything meaningful here, all u do is wait for any lil chance to ridicule a post. Did he ask a lame question? Do u know who pays Pionetti? And now Gine? Stop being silly here. |
Osimhen on the bench away to Hamburg |
I wish we had an Arthur Masuaku. That guy is an elegant left back mbok!! Old Zaire (DR Congo) get players oo, wetin dey happen abeg? Why dem no qualify for the World Cup? |
Icon4s:Icons I had to do this reshuffle for these two reasons : *Awaziem takes the left side of the 3man defense bkus Balogun is lacking in pace, with Octopus Ndidi and Mikel in front of Balogun, his pace won't be put to test. *Shehu is better suited to play as a fullback than RWB. A case study is our game against Argentina. We all saw how ebuehi made the difference. Bar, these ltl reshuffling, man u r so wicked, u don't mean any good for ur opponents. U damne heartless Icon4s. |
forgiveness:Lol finally u believe Onyekuru is the real deal but on the LW. He also seem to be the winger the Evertonians are so dying to have, not Ademola Lukman the tweets suggest that ![]() |
Icon4s:Don't see me as an uncouth guy but the three of you really need to consult your fundamentals in English language, flip as fast as possible to COMPREHENSION . I didn't question the relevance of those senior players and I still am not questioning it. Relevance is a different word from indispensability. Like u rightly said earlier, Elyte was hyperbolic with the way he made his argument. Those players are important, they are relevant, they are the best in those positions but they are not indispensable bkus nobody is indispensable in any walk of life. U might be better than every other person at that very moment, but when u leave, u will be surprised at how u get replaced. Time is the determinant factor. And this doesn't mean I'm downgrading their abilities in any way. When u say someone is indispensable, it means he is irreplaceable, we can't do without the person in any case. If that be the case, players wouldn't be getting substituted in matches even when they must av run outta steam. Okocha was our best midfielder but when he left, we found a replacement in Mikel. That wouldn't av bn possible if Okocha was indispensable. We for no get any midfield again. Enyeama's absence is creating chaos now but with time, a capable hand will emerge as his replacement just as he replaced Rufai. Just know that relevance and indispensility are two different words. If he had said we would perform better with those guys, no p. Not that we will be dead without them. I no wan further this argument again abeg. Make una believe anything una will |
elyte89:I mean u no disrespect bro but I shouldn't be arguing with u. Onazi is indispensable and we trashed Argentina in his absence? VicMo is indispensable and we av been playing and winning in his absence . U kinda naive, sorry to say Dat. Whoever his absence ain't felt when he is off the pitch isn't indispensable. The person his absense shakes the team is Mikel and no one else. Be reasonable. |
tbaba1234:Person wey never see a second of game time even in the Portuguese lowest(regional) division let alone first division is ahead of a player with 180minutes of game time in the laliga, a cleansheet in two matches in the laliga and about seven clean sheets in segunda B. Lol Maduka Okoye is even ahead of Alampasu presently because he plays unlike Alampasu. When Alampasu was playing in the Portuguese third division, did u know he never kept a clean sheet abi na once sef, got his team relegated and was warming the bench at the tail end of that season bkus of his awful form. We all read the report from feirense when they couldn't land their target keeper, they had to retain Alampasu because, half bread they say... Unless he Dele proves himself (which I pray he does) before January, he will be offloaded come January. Feirense has only just two keepers ; their unworthy number one and the emergency/interim back up Alampasu. But funny enough, Alampasu seldom makes the bench oo. |
elyte89:Dat omission of Onazi wasn't premeditated. I thought his name was there. It's been modified. Lol bro Onazi ain't indispensable. Hope u understand what that word means? The only indispensable player we have now is Mikel Obi, it's even debatable |
This line ups can pull us outta that group stage with ease, barring any form of injuries and dip in form; Against Croatia and Iceland ; Uzoho Shehu Ekong Balogun Idowu Ndidi Mikel iwobi Moses Onyekuru Ighalo * Mikel as a CM gives the midfield balance as octopus Ndidi does more of the shielding playing as the DM while Iwobi with his incisive, defense-splitting passes plays ahead of them in the AM position. Mikel playing centrally will also help to annul the effect of Modric and whoever plays alongside him. * The choice Moses is a no brainer while the choice of Onyekuru is because he is a tricky winger and can easily commit Loveren and Co. He promises goals and assists unlike most other wingers. He does well to fall back too when the team concedes possession. * The choice of my back four is a no brainer though if Ebuehi and or OLA prove to be improvements (crosses while galloping tro and fro the line, and positional play) on Shehu at the right full back, Shehu sits. Against Argentina probably with 6points already in the bag; Uzoho Awaziem Balogun Ekong Moses Ndidi Mikel Onazi/Ogu(orJoel) Idowu Ighalo Iwobi * I chose Uzoho ahead of every other goalkeeper including Enyeama because I don't think Enyeama is coming back. But if he does come back (meeting the criteria needed), then he gets my nod, but until then, I'm working with what is available. * Moses plays RWB for me because he is about the best in that position right now in the world. And he can still effect the game playing there. Lol he would be up against tired D'maria and whack Rojo. * Ighalo and Iwobi can do it upfront like Nacho and Iwobi did it in the friendly. It won't be bad also if Kelechi starts ahead of Ighalo for set pieces and the synergy between him and iwobi. I have a selection headache here. This is my opinion and it's open for constructive criticism |
Did u know that ifeanyi Mathew is rated among the top 3 midfielders in the Norwegian league. He is his team's best midfielder (if not best player) and he steered them away from relegation, and just two days ago, he was his usual midfield maestro and won his team the Norwegian FA cup. He played every minute of his team's games this season with about 4goals to his name plus many man of the match awards. I read sometime last window that he was wanted by Anderletch but opted to stay back to save his team from relegation. Now that begs the question "what was the rationale behind Nwakali's invitation?" |
Who else is keeping tabs on Awaziem's progress at Nantes France? Dude is improving with every game, one thing that amazes me is how he adjusts seamlessly whenever Ranieri changes formation from 3 at the back to 4 during the course of a game. Did you see him against Neymar in their match with Psg? Did you see him against Monaco few days ago? And today against St Etienne. French league will retain(possibly out rightly) that boy when his loan deal is up |
Here is why Bonaventure just won't let up. Dude is so serious with his career and has a very sound orientation. While our supposed beast is rotting away in brothels, read what this kid has to say here; BONAVENTURE : COMPETITION IS TOUGH AT CLUB BRUGGE Posted By: soccerassembly.com on: December 03, 2017 Nigerian forward Dennis Bonaventure has admitted that the competition for places at Belgian giants club Brugge is tough and he needs to be at his best to keep his place in the team The 20 year old Nigerian had been dropped from the starting squad by Club Brugges Croatian Manager Ivan Leko due to a seeming drop in fitness with the player himself also saying defenders were now alert to his qualities However the dazzling young forward bounced back to reckoning coming off the bench to score a double against Zulte Waregem last weekend in the Belgian Cup “It feels good to score those goals,” Dennis is quoted on Walfoot as saying after the match. “I WORK SO HARD AT TRAINING BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THE SLIGHTEST RELAXATION CAN COST ME MY PLACE ,”. “There is too much competition here. Everyone plays well. But the team spirit is fantastic, “he concludes. It is expected that the dazzling forward will be back in the starting line up as Brugge square up against KAS Eupen on Sunday Dennis has 5 league goals in 13 appearances and 10 in all competitions this season |
SupremeBeast:Uv said it all mate. Don't be complacent and don't give them too much respect which could amount to fearing them. Loveren and Co can't stand the firepower of Nigeria |
Joebie:The tinkering and watching of video tapes ain't gonna change the fact he made about the aging star players of Croatia ![]() Abi tinkering will get them any younger? ![]() |
isan:You were the one who came in here asking if Moses could still win his place back, that was in Chelsea's last match, when Moses just came back. Nobody took u seriously, hence u were totally ignored ![]() U are here again today getting over urself shouting "people said he would be confined to d bench by Zappa"? Hmmm u eh |
I will provide u guys a link to what the Argies are saying about this group. They are fretting even worse than some us here. Take this for instance ; "Nigeria has been pretty solid for a while, cruising undefeated through the African WCQ. Plus, they did beat us just two weeks ago, regardless of whether or not Messi played. Strangely enough, they are unexpectedly THE MOST STABLE TEAM OF THE FOUR at the moment." locoxriver |
BascoVanVeli:Yes we shouldn't be complacent, but a capital NO, Croatia ain't no trophy contenders. |
From the desk of Ayo Akinfe. The very first time I took him seriously. We are not under rating these teams but as a realist, Croatia and Argentina can't sit the Eagles Croatia: [1] By the time the World Cup starts, this will be the ages of their star players: Luca Modric -32 Ivan Rakitić - 30 Mario Mandžukić - 32 Nikola Kalinić - 30 Ivan Perišić - 29 [2] Croatia will not be able to deal with our pace [3] By the time Croatia attack, we will have had defenders back in place [4] Croatia relies on slow methodical build-ups [5] Croatia do not have the legs to deal with our swift counter-attacks [6] Domagoj Vida theior Dynamo Kiev centreback and rock alongside Dejan Lovren, does not strike me as someone who can handle say Moses or Ighalo [7] Ivan Strinić, their leftback who plays for Samdoria is 30. How will he gallop up and down the flanks at the same rate as Ebuehi? [8] Croatia are not a high scoring side. If you look at their qualification, most of their victories were 1-0 affairs. They were just lucky to have Kosovo in their group, who they beat 6-0 away, boosting their goal aggregated [9] From what I can see, Croatia, Ukraine, Iceland and Finland were all equally matched in their qualification group [10] I can see Croatia struggling to break down a stubborn Iceland defence Argentina [1] Argentina have been crap for the last two years now. See how they struggled in their qualifiers. [2] Argentina have a chronic problem at the back. Otamendi and Mascherano are too slow to cope with quick attackers. [3] Upfront they are fine with Messi, Aguero and Di Maria but their defence is leaking goals. They simply do not have the legs to cope with counter-attacks. [4] I do not see how that will change between now an June unless two top central defenders emerge and the coach has the guts to drop Mascherano and Otamendi. [5] Argentina play with three at the back and simply cannot defend balls down the channel [6] I have watched most of their World Cup qualifiers and can tell you now that no one in South America fears Argentina. Our 4-2 victory just confirmed what has been going on for the last two years. [7] Can you please tell me how things will change. Which defenders will you bring in to replace the ageing Zavier Mascherano and the slow Nicholas Otamendi? [8] Against Nigeria, Germán Pezzella, the centreback who plays for Italian club Fiorentina, on loan from Real Betis, made his debut alongside Otamendi and Mascherano in the back three. Of the trio, only Pezella looked like he could cope with the pace of Iwobi, Iheanacho and Idowu [9] I do not see Sampoli dropping the ageing Mascherano. His tactics have left a lot to desired. I doubt he has the guts to be brave [10] By the time we play Argentina, I believe they will be out of the tournament We gotta be sanguine because right now, we ain't that bad. |
