The players
I must admit, I really am marveled. Plz how was Pinnick able to pull this? Seems this man aint as clueless as I earlier thought. I really admire his political acumen - from delta state FA chairman to NFF president, to caf exec member and now this magic? wow!! Make I dey Watch Sha.

I doubt this Ligali boy has any Nigerian root.

I think Mikel Agu should be tested to see if he can deputiz Ndidi. The boy is good. He deserves a call-up.
Sir u just made sense. I rate that boy highly and he has been pulling it dis season. Bar injuries, I see him unseating Danilo in that Porto midfield come next season.

Our football administrators should try set their priority right. They should stop this unnecessary call ups. How many times have they given our local talented players special offer to train with the super eagles. As regard players of Naija root in England, my choice will surely be Odubajo & Abraham as long as they are willing & ready. These two are the only quality that can add bite to the team for now.
Oga take a chill pill. There is no harm in bringing those kids to camp, after all, the camping is more or less inconsequential but we are trynna make good use of it by killing two birds wt an arrow. Just give the kids sense of belonging so that in the future they won't have to haggle before considering to pitch there tents here. Dats wot we call catch dem young as long as they are talented.

Do u think capping Ejaria will be as hard as it would with a player like Ojo? The simple reason and trick is that sense of want when they were still a nobody.

Besides, Aina is ripe for Eagles.

Really cool!! i rate Aina highly
Yea dats kul. Nura Abdullahi is about the best teen right back in Europe now and he only missed this friendly by a whisker. His coach asked that he be excused to gain fitness.

Having Aina makes sense as he is a versatile player, hence can be a worthy back up to Echiejile. Then Omeruo and Ebuehi can continue with the right back position pending when odubajo and Nura join the team.

This team is taking strong shape by the day chai!!

Aluko brings in brilliance, great touch and classy decisions. However, I feel the creativity of Aluko to operate in tight spaces, attract players to himself and skip past players is more of an asset in that role.

Even if it comes to a Center attack midfield role, I will still prefer Aluko to Iwobi. With Victor Moses and Aluko playing wide, we will find it easier creating room for the forward players to shine. The destroying runs will keep the defender under pressure. Coupled with the creativity of Nacho and Success, we have a lethal forward line.
Is Aluko really that good? I have seen a couple of matches where he couldn't stand the pressure and was a kinda quagmire when he was expected to lift his team as was Alex in our last match. But that ain't denying the fact that he's cerebral and can conjure some improvised pieces of skills to riggle outta tight corners Sha.

SharpJoe:
I also agree with you in dropping Etebo for Victor Moses but that comes when Victor Moses is in camp too. I will also opt for Mikel over Etebo in Midfield because of his connecting play. I think with the creativity of our forwards, we need less of roaming midfielders but pass masters. For now, Mikel still trumps.
Nope, I didn't drop Etebo rather I adjusted the line up, I dropped Ogu instead to accommodate Vicmo but in real match situation, it would still be a tough call leaving out Etebo though we all know what Nwa-Obi Mikel brings to the table. Some twitching would have to be done but then again, I would replace iwobi with Etebo (if he must be benched) when the going gets tough.

Chai u ain't even bringing Onazi into the picture. Are his days numbered??

We have a terrifying depth in Dat DMF oo. ndidi, Etebo, Onazi, Agu, Esiti, azubuike... Chai in pecking order ooo

I was talking in respect of the expected Burkina Faso or if we play anyone. If Mikel is in camp and I am drawing a list, I will certainly include him and drop Ogu. Then if Aluko is in camp, I will drop Iwobi for Aluko.
Oh really? Not a bad list then. I was even surprised u left out Nwa-Obi. Aluko for Iwobi?

Not a bad formation anyways but, IMO, the players were somewhat incongruously placed. What's the rationale for leaving out your best player just to accommodate a player because of what he showed in a friendly? Sir I would rather u placed Etebo in the position u placed Ogu and Vicmo at the RW...

You start with a wrong notion. Isaac Success was not played as a striker for Granada but a winger.
How many times will u tell him that, but time and again he fails to acknowledge that. Why he keeps feigning ignorant of that simple fact, only he knows. He is being economical with the truth in this argument, reason I didn't care replying his long epistle.

OK I take it that Success doesn't measure up to ur standard and to kill the impression that u prefer innits... , u told us u are sold on to Etebo' s talent. Injuries have blotted Success's first season in England worse than Etebo has experienced in Portugal. Success has shown flashes of brilliance the few times he's played -chambers, baily etc etc can testify to that but u deem it right to slack him while u claim to praise Etebo who has been a shadow of himself in Portugal (no thanks to injuries though), if that ain't being bias, I wonder what is.

Good thing u admitted u kinda biased with English players because that's ur terrain and u understand their system and pedigree better.

And about Bazee in comparison with other Engla9ja boys, sir plz don't be offended, when you get to the bank, do u stand waiting for the ATM Machine that reads "currently outta service" or u go for the next equally efficient machine ready to dispense cash?

Another player I would boot outta this team is Moses Simon. Too predictable, keeps doin same thing over and again, yet expecting a different result. He has been as poor as anything in our competitive matches. Time will tell Sha. I hope Onyekuru, Kalu, bazee are improvements on both Musa and Moses so that they get consigned to the bench or worse yet, left out entirely, since they have refused to grow.

Plz I want Aluko back, I doubt he would have been as poor as iwobi was today behind the main striker.

How many Nigerians have scored 2 goals in a match at the world cup?
One thing I don't do is argue blindly. And I also hate reasoning parochially. Did I contradict ur fact? Ain't we saying same thing? Yea he scored two against the Argies and I give him credit for that. But I still maintain by stance, maybe u c it as a damning verdict. Prior to those two goals against the Argies, Musa had not done anything as spectacular and he hasn't been able to achieve same fit ever again. Maybe u didn't understand the world HIGHLIGHT. quote me outta context again or maybe get my message misconstrued just to undermine the claims, and I no go reply u again sir.

I pointed out some pages back that the high point of of Musa' s career with the Eagles remains his two goals against the Argies and some misguided guys were calling for my head, they even went as far as telling me about his exploits in an obscure league like the the Russian league, forgetting the fact that I was specific with my assertions. To those guys quoting me that day, I still repeat it again, Musa's highlight with EAGLES remains his two goals against the Argies.

There's no doubt about that, I for one love him for one thing, his astuteness about the game but I hate the fact that he doesn't see nothing good in Nigerian players unless the said player comes from the English system. Choi seeing these pictures kinda send chills down my spine. I think we have finally gotten it right age wise, thank goodness for MRI. Just take a good look at this squad and tell me if it can't stand the test of time. Such youthfulness, and the fact that we still have them many in our locker makes it even more glamorous and interesting. Plz tell Onyekuru, Kalu Odey and Co not to relent because they can't afford to miss out on this band, just that everyone can't be invited at the same time, they should instead see it as a challenge to work even harder. Chai who wouldn't wanna be a part of this beautiful team?

E b like Onazi get leadership qualities in him oo, I guess Mikel wouldn't be missed that much, off field, with elders like Balogun and Onazi even...well he ain't setting a good example for the youngies, yea na Moses, oya come beat me. Lol

See, i have always been at the fore front of calls for drafting of our NPFL youngsters into our U20 and U23 teams.

We have a lot of young and talented players from d local league who can compete favorably well with youngsters in Europe and S. America at these age grade competitions.

I once raised questions about Odey not being part of the Amuneke's U20 team. TheGoodJoe will recall that discussion.

I personally believe that with d current trend of movements in the local league any good player would have left for Europe or elsewhere before they are 25yrs old. I dnt take any player above 25 still playing in the local league serious.

Talks like "Rohr should dig deep into the NPFL and he may unearth a rare gem".
If there is a rare gem in the league, u dnt need to dig deep to identify the person. His name should be ringing on everybody's lips. His performance will unearth him and not Rohr.

Even with the call for home based players inclusion the only name i have even heard here is Stephen Odey. That tells a lot.
