Mickael2:
it's not just about inviting every eligible player, no matter how good they are.

Ok look at that list again, you pointed out that Ovoke is left footed, I would assume that he plays as a LMF no? Who will he replace, like for like, in that list? Who are the left footed midfielders we invited? Or do you want the coach to invite all the left-footed players we have just because they are all good? Except if we are playing an inverted winger on the right it won't work, not to mention that we don't even play with wingers anymore, just outright midfielders so you see that the formation has ruled out his own involvement.

I have watched Odeh, he scores goals I agree(against NPFL defenders and goalkeepers, GREAT, but still...), what else does he bring to the table? Don't just base your arguments on highlights but watch the real games, 90 complete minutes and you will see. There is ABSOLUTELY no way you can tell me that he is better than....Adi and Adi isn't even on the team list! So Adi will come first before him, do you see his position?

Ejike Uzoenyi's case should have taught you something about creativity in Nigerian leagues. Poor defenders who are almost always out of position, it obviously makes it easier to thread a good pass every now and then but when he comes up against...Kouyate or even Kone of Burkina Faso who aren't going to move out of position, he falls FLAT! It happened against Ghana at the Chan 2014 too, we all saw it. Forget this your claim about NPFL players being talented, they just aren't playing against the best, you consider that before you invite them. I remember watching the super four, Rangers against one team like that, if you see the ridiculous goals Chisom was scoring, you'd be left wondering where are the defenders?! What is the goalkeeper doing?! For you, you might be enjoying the show thinking he is great, but next time you see a fantastic goal in the NPFL check other variables concerned. I don't like talking about the NPFL like this but they do not deserve a spot, especially not now that we have a lot of young talents that we want to snatch from other countries who will definetly occupy the vacant positions in our team list
U nailed it sir.

Don't forget how hostile these Arabs can be even to fellow Arabs. I read on supersport.com.ng that the fans attacked our boys when they got to Sudan and they were threatening fire and brimstone. Now think of what such condition can do to a players confidence when he knows he ain't safe should they win. And to the ref's confidence too

Thank God Hayatou who was leaking their (North african) smelly ass has been ousted, and I hope Ahmad addresses this issue ASAP. I'm a staunch Rangers fan but I hope rivers file a case against AL merrick on the treatment meted on them.

I believe PSG is worse than River United with this result,so what a fuss.

My point is cleared,it is better for Rohr to look inward than inviting player from obscure league of Bosnia,Cyprus or division 3.

I already agreed with u that no local good for Eaagles coz u watched d league and i don't have d opportunity of recent.
We shouldn't call a guy from Bosnia but u were sad that olisadebe was overlooked while he was playing in an obscure league (the Polish league).

Victor Moses Calf Injury
Resurfaces, Out Of Super Eagles
Friendly Against Senegal &
Burkina Faso

Super Eagles of Nigeria will be without the
services of Chelsea wing back Victor Moses in
their upcoming friendly games against Senegal
and Burkina Faso in London.
Moses only recently returned to training from a
calf strain injury picked up in the 1-0 FA Cup
win over Manchester United, but was played
from the start by coach Antonio Conte in their
2-1 comeback win over West Ham in the
Premier League.
The half fit Victor Moses was however replaced
in the 70th minute by Cesc Fabregas after
reportedly complaining of pains in his ankle
during the course of the game.
Moses will now be expected to spend at least
one week on the sidelines, which effectively
rules him out of the Super Eagles games on the
23rd and 27th of March.

Sir Icon4s I told you I saw this coming but u played down my fears saying that nothing had been heard from his camp. Chai make una call up Aluko for me biko. Play Aluko behind the striker(possibly KC), play Ndidi and Etebo behind Aluko while iwobi starts from left wing and Simon/Bazee from the right wing.

Lol teamEnglish born kids would be like, Ndidi who? Abeg Nathan Ake or Ruben Lotus Cheek is the real deal. After all they play for Chelsea while Ndidi plays for mediocre club Leicester city.

If Nathan Ake was an English player of Nigerian descent some people obsessed with anything foreign would be rating him(Ake) ahead of dis midfield general Ndidi.

They would back it up with lame facts like he;
1-he was called back from loan (ojo comes to mind),
2- Marca rated him the best thing after makalele (Solanke loyalists),
3-he is Chelsea third choice DFM after Kante and Matic,
4- it is not easy to make Chelsea first team,
5-he pushed out Mikel from Chelsea (now Dat would be d most ridiculous one) etc etc.

What if I told u it took more than 3 years, how would you know if I was compromising on my integrity without u doin d research? Now u trynna deviate from d argument. Bro d time frame does matter and another thing Dat matters is Dat Moses got back to d NFF after asking to be given some time. Secondly, it didn't take him ages as u would want us to believe. But how many of ur boys have gotten back to the NFF ever seen they were approached? Only Tyrone Ebuehi and none of those innits.

The reason I said the time frame matters is because no one would pull a Shola Ameobi on us again. Nedum onuoha wanted to do a Scola but we robbed it on his face. Since they have been approached, dis is d right time for dem to make up their mind not after growing bored of waiting for England.

I'm against the idea of not approaching dem at all, and then jump into conclusion that they ain't interested, but once you have been approached the ball will then be in ur court. Get back to us when u r ready. Dats how it is done bro and I support Dat.

Chelsea Wonderkid Dominic Solanke To
Make Nigeria Debut Against Senegal, Claims
NFF

Published: December 05, 2016
Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke could
make his international debut for the Super
Eagles when they lock horns with Senegal
in March, according to reports.
The Guardian Nigeria, citing an unnamed
source at the Nigeria Football Federation,
has sensationally CLAIMED that Solanke is
in line for a shock call-up to Gernot Rohr’s
side during the next international break.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that
individuals close to the Sports Ministry and
NFF earlier approached the Blues
wonderkid to turn out for Nigeria rather
than England, but he SNUBBED their
overtures as he fancies his chances with
the Three Lions.
Born in Reading 19 years ago, Solanke has
played for the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21
national teams of England, but can still
represent the Super Eagles if the
grandfather rule is invoked since he has
not played competitively for the English
senior team.
The newspaper has also claimed that
Jordon Ibe, Kelvin Akpoguma, Chuba
Akpom, Karim Onisowo and Ola Aina will
be called up for the international friendly.

How many of these English guys wanna don the green and white Jersey of the Eagles? This should be the question.

Ejaria no doubt, won't turn us down because when he was passing through a rough patch, Nigeria gave a helping hand by giving him an invitation to join the 2013 u17 set... We all know the story.

Ibeh, ojo, Akpom, Aina, Ebuehi have been met and they asked to be giving more time which simply mean they ain't ready. To me, since we've made our proposal, it is now incumbent on them to reach out to us, when they are ready since we've shown them that we want them, that's the sense of belonging u talked about. Ebuehi called back that he was ready after after asking to me given more time initially but how many of these innit boys have called back?

Solanke, akpoguma, iyoha stated clearly that Nigeria ain't an option. They wanna represent their country of birth.

Odubajo shunned our invitation to the u23 though he cited the timing as his reason and promise to honor our invitation if not for his injuries.

Tammy Abraham has met with Pinnick, I don't think he said no with what Pinnick said, but like others, he asked to be given more time.

Adarabioyo said no.

Onyedinma was neither here nor there with his response.

Ademola was a member of team Nigeria UK handled by Doherty. Now he is enjoying a kinda purple patch he is more concerned with cementing his place in the first team than getting distracted with nationality wahala. I doubt he would turn us down anyways. But is this d right time to call him up?

Dominic iorfa senior said his son would play for Eagles but not until he is 23 and above. He said he ain't mature for international football yet, but trust me, should d 3 lions call him up today, automatically, he would be mature. Iorfa we know ur motive.

Well am behind Rohr with his German call up. Noah is a gem and I hope he gets us Jordan torunarigha of Hertha BSc also. Had those innit boys not ask for more time, I believe some of them would have gotten their invites alongside Noah and Ebuehi.

People I think we should be clamoring for are guys like Manuel Akanji of Basel who never hides the Nigerian part of him, inform Aluko and others who see themselves as Nigerians.

Shout from now till morrow, a guy like Solanke can hardly see naija as an option.

Why do some us find it difficult to appreciate what we have? I nearly kicked out on d guy before me in a queue d moment I read that Success is a waste. Chai my people make una take am easy with anything foreign.

Innit boys are holding out for the opportunity to serve the Queen hence they are asking for more time. If d 3 lions had come knocking, dey would celebrate it instead of asking for more time. I see their excuses as a ploy to weigh their chances with England before considering us. This is the truth and I don't know why some of u are shying away from it.

Give me a German talent with huge future but still plies his trade in the 2 Bundesliga who is happy to get a call from Rohr, and will take him any day, any time over an epl kid using us to play ludo

I'm not talking about quota for home based but if we can find some of them that merit it,they should be called to camp to slug it out with their foreign counterparts.

But i was made to believe by icon4 that NPLF player presently are not good for Eagles which made me sad coz we cannot be going to Europe and be inviting players playing in Bosnia,Cyprus or third division just coz they are foreign based.
Were they invited because they play in Europe or because they merited it? I think the later is the answer. Oga u were sad that Olisadebe was ignored in 2000 while he was in the Polish league though a pure class by ur own standard. U said he merited a call up but was overlooked then, yet you implore us to repeat same mistake by overlooking these ones just because they play in the Bosnian league et al, though they are good and merit the call up. Possibly olisadebe was left out because the Polish league was seen as an obscure league that couldn't produce a talent just as u see the Cyprus and Bosnian leagues.

Dude this your talk na woman talk.

Stop being sentimental and emotionally prejudiced. Present your case state your facts express your deductions rationally.

He has detailed players of Nigerian origin and made his comparisons. Now what you could do is to objectively dissect the attributes and failings of these players comparatively to the home Nigerian players that are in your opinion better.

Otherwise I'm sorry to say your sentimentality becomes incoherent gibberish.
Lol that was a bit harsh but that's by the way, sir forgiveness has this proclivity for downgrading home grown players just to make their foreign counterparts look superior. Most times I don't bother quoting him but when I do, I don't go into details (dissecting) because he already knows the truth but decides to be economical with it for reasons best known to him.

How is Ejaria better than Etebo? On what basis would a battering ram like Solanke make a better striker than KC?

It might have appeared gibberish and incoherent to you sir but please can sir Forgiveness back up his claims with fact? Next time u wanna quote me, be more refined with your choice of words. U can always cast aspersions but I won't take them when they are that crude.

Leicester city eyes Etebo

Champions of England Leicester City are tracking
Super Eagles winger Oghenekaro Etebo,
according to reports in Portugal.
Etebo is currently on the books of Portuguese
Primeira Liga club Feirense.
The 21-year-old has been attracting interest from
around Europe since his four-goal haul in
Nigeria's 5-4 win over Japan at the 2016
Olympics last August.
Now a full international alongside the likes
Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi, Etebo has been
tracked throughout the season by City and
Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to
Portuguese media outlet, A Bola.
Etebo has not quite matched his goalscoring feat
from Rio 2016, where Nigeria came third,
grabbing just one goal and one assist in 18
appearances across all competitions for Feirense
this season.
In his six caps for the Nigeria senior team, he
has one goal, scored on his debut against Egypt,
and one assist, setting up Mikel John Obi in the
Super Eagles' 3-1 World Cup qualifying win over
Algeria in November.
Etebo is in the Nigeria squad to face Senegal and
Burkina Faso in friendlies later this month. The
matches, on March 23 and 27, will be played at
Barnet's The Hive Stadium.

I am whole heartedly with Rohr's team selection.

The best and most promising talents and professional players are outside this country.

Celestine Babayaro that was making comment the other day, how many home-based players played along with him during his hey days in the late 90s?

We have gone past that time where Keshi would be reserving 5-7 slots for home-based players!

Players should be invited based on merit. If our best 25 players are based in Europe so be it.

The home based eagles had a chance to impress at CHAN last year but they showed they lacked substance. Another CHAN qualifiers will commence soon. Let Rohr use that to assess the players.

No room for mediocrity. We need the best devoid of allotments and allocations.
