I think a move could very much be in the works. I believe he turned down China with an eye on a bigger move.
I pray that happens tomorrow. How would you feel with midfield options as this;

Ndidi - Leicester DMF
Etebo - Leicester/Monaco DMF, AMF and even CMF
Mikel Agu - Porto DMF
Onazi - (say Marseille or Lyon) DMF, CMF
Agbo - Grenada / Watford DMF
Esiti - Gent DMF

Tell me whether e no go sweet u to see dis kind list being rolled out?

U thought I wanted to bash Onazi right? No sire, I want the best for my team and I want everyone of them to be up and doing. Do not rest on ur oars.

Jordan can play CB and fullback roles.... He is like Antonio Rudiger of AS Roma.... Rudiger plates CB, RB, and LB... He is German and just 24. Germany also has Hector at Left back.... so biko... make them go rest oo Jare.....

Jordan is ours... he even displays Nigerian colors on his social media wall/page I read one time... grin cheesy
It wasn't Jordan who displayed that naija flag, it was Manuel Akanji of FC BASEL.

We should be looking at guys like Azubuike and Nwakali to take over from Mikel. Talents like these needs an arm round their shoulders in order to have a seamless transition.
This was exactly what Brazil did with Kaka at the Korea/ Japan world cup. They brought him on as a non playing personel and he watched and trained alongside Rivaldo. When Rivaldo retired, up stepped Kaka.
I just wish his club didn't turn down Monaco's deal after the Olympics, he would have been a member of this young Monaco squad that disgraced the drilling team of the bald.

If Bakayoko and the other guy leaves, or any of those midfield anchormen at Monaco, I doubt any of the Turkish Giants would still be in contention for Azu's signature. Monaco are still in contact with his camp.

The future is as bright...for that young man. He is good.

if na experience matter.... no wahala.... Torunarigha must start from somewhere naa abi? Abeg.... we know Echiejile is the boss for now in that role... only for now ooo.... but this Jordan Kid looks like something special abeg.... if he keeps it up and we get him eventually, I see him (or any other breakthrough top talent in the role) toppling Echiejile in the long run... but for now, Echiejile edges... wink
Are u aware he was a makeshift LB in that game? His primary position is CB. He might not pose a big threat to Echiejile at the long run oo. Nawa oo, well I pray he transforms to a quality LB. But Germany relatively don't have that much option at the LB, they might wanna entice him oo Chai

Suprised all of you like Azubuike. I was somewhat the lone voice in the wilderness who made a call for his inclusion in the London friendlies.
Only icon79 accorded with my comment. Other forumites opposed my view because he was playing for a small club.

What wonders good publicity can do to perception.
I have always been a staunch fan of Azu since the Olympics and I have been yearning for his call up. The last time I talked about him in this same thread, one of the elders in this thread asked that I shunned the idea that he wasn't ripe for Eagles, I was bewildered.

So what happens if Onazi also moves to a big club?
That has always been my prayer. That would be a sign of improvement. If he plays better, he attracts better clubs from better leagues. Na win, win situation for Eagles because that would only make the competition more fierce.

Have you a diverse opinion, sire?

Exclusive: Dream Team VI Captain Sparks Bidding War; Besiktas, Osmanlispor & Kasimpasa Join Race

https://allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/16312Azubuike.jpg

Nigeria U23 international Azubuike Okechukwu faces an imminent exit from Yeni Malatyaspor as he is attracting interest from top Turkish Super Lig clubs ahead of the opening of the transfer window.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Beşiktaş J.K, Osmanlıspor and Kasimpasa have made undisclosed bids to sign the central midfielder and Yeni Malatyaspor higher-ups are studying the offers.

20-time Turkish champions Galatasaray S.K have already opened talks with Azubuike’s camp, though they have not yet firmed up their interest by submitting a bid.

Regarded as one of the most promising talents in Africa, the 19-year-old started his career in his homeland with Niger Tornadoes before shifting to Bayelsa United, from where he was snapped up by Yeni Malatyaspor in 2015.

Azubuike Okechukwu has one international cap to his name which came in an African Cup of Nations qualifier versus Egypt a year ago.

Monaco is still hot on his Hills. I was never sold on to his qualities until I saw him in Brazil. If he joins either of these two clubs "Monaco and Galatasaray", then Onazi would be on a long thing. Onazi could even be pushed further down the pecking order next season when Mikel Agu rejoins FC PORTO.

Ndidi - Leicester city
Etebo - Monaco/Leicester bound
Azu Okey - Monaco/Galatasaray/Besiktas bound
Mikel Agu- fc Porto
Onazi - sivaspor turkey

That's what's called squad depth. Am proud of that.

Chairman, we dnt have issues with our LB IMHO. Echiejile is there.

When Iroha was the LB boss who were the other options? When it was Babayaro who were the other options? When it was Taiwo who were the other options?

Lets not make the mistakes of the more recent past that we were focusing more on 'the other options' rather than focusing on how to maximise the abilities of the main player. Oliseh fielding Onobi ahead of Mikel, all in a bid to create an option for Mikel, comes to mind.

If Echiejile is not in the team for any reason, we have tried Madu and Amuzie in that position before and heaven did not fall. Echiejile is nt too far better than those 2 IMO.

As for Torunarigha and Uduokhai I cant rate them yet for very obvious reasons. Though they may be good additions to the squad if invited.

Our next 3 games for the Super Eagles are very very crucial. Echiejile is first choice. Madu is 2nd. I dnt see Rohr parading any debutant in that LB position for any of those 3 games.
Alright sir, I'm only for quality back ups as much as we have at the RB. Of course elderson is the undisputed first choice.

You call Wilfred Bony a mediocre player not even Lassana deserves that description. You should apologise you have made a big gaff.

How many Nigerian players currently can boast of achieving the heights these two have attained. Please tell me huh huh huh huh huh huh huh
Bony never lived up to the promises he showed, hence he is ah flash-in-d-pan kinda player. He flattered to decieve. By virtue of whatever, he found himself playing at the top but he lacked what it takes to maintain such status, and it has been downward spiral ever since. If hogwash or mediocrity ain't the right word to describe such a player, I wonder what is.

Though in my first message, lacina was the guy I labeled a mediocre but, what exceptional quality does Bony have?

Lacina traore? The least said, the better.

Lest I forget, those statements are unapologetically made sir.

Success is a waste pipe remember...

Serge Aurier and Eric Bailly I agree will make Africa's best XI for now..... but who again for that Ivorian back line beta pass Kalidou Koulibaly of Senegal biko? grin

And at Left back... is their left back better than Ghoulam of Algeria? wink

Again.... I rate the Ivorians but they couldn't even make it out of the first round at the Afcon. Morocco bested them.

So when it comes to African football.... only two of their back four can walk easily into Africa's best back four of this present time.
Lol who compliments kalidou in the Senegalese defence, mbodji? And ghoulam in Algeria, medjani?

Ivorian back four- Aurier, Baily, Kanon or lamine kone and then their fantastic left back, traore of Basel

Chai what a coup.

Cornet will give Jonathan kodjia a run for his money. Mediocre like lassana traore and of course Wilfried Bony would be groaning. With fofana in the fold, Max gradel would be further pushed down the pecking order. Hmm ivorians are building o. They already have the best back four in Africa.

I really can't fathom u guys' fascination for lengthy arguments. U are really having a field day.

Plz I think right now there is the dearth of left full backs in our new look super Eagles. We really need options at that LB. I neither see amuzie nor Madu as an option. I need as much depth as we already have at the RB position. How good is Torunarigha? Is uduokhai committing to us? How good are the ones we have in the NPFL?

Leicester City Boss Speaks On Rumours Of Arsenal & Spurs Interest In Wilfred Ndidi – There Will Always Be Bids

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-14.jpg

Talks of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur interest in Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has drawn a reaction from Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare.

Ndidi has been a revelation since joining the club from Belgian side Genk in the January transfer window, and his performances have lead to talks of a move away from the club in the summer.

Arsenal and Spurs are rumoured as the two English teams who are keeping close watch on the Nigerian midfielder, but Shakespeare insist the 20 year old will be at the club for a long time.

Shakespeare made this known during his pre match conference ahead of their upcoming game against Sunderland on Wednesday.

” We can do nothing about speculations, It’s a credit to him, in terms of the way he has performed, but also the way he is. He is a very good professional, very mature heads on his shoulders.

” I have no problem with speculation, but we have our best players tied up. Of course, there can always be bids, we can always turn them down. But football is football you’ll always get bids for good players.

” It is vitally important we keep our young players. Speaking to Wilfred, he is very happy here. He knows that we have given him the opportunity and I am sure that he will be a player here for a long time”, Shakespeare said of the Nigerian who is contracted to the Foxes till the summer of 2021.

I told my Ghanaian friends the moment Leicester sealed Ndidi's deal, that Amartey was doomed and they called hoax my claim saying no one could fill the chasm created by the departure of Kante than their versatile Amartey. Lol today they don't like discussing soccer with me.

Lol recently I made them develop cold fit with the news that Leicester is planing a swoop on Etebo come next summer. Lol that could bring Amartey's stay at the king power stadium to a premature end.

Felix Udokhai also played 1860 Munich in Bundesliga II and could be the replacement for Elderson in the near future.
Torunarigha the son of ojokojo (former 3SC player). He is a huge physical presence, skillful and technical too. He is left footed and plays both LB & CB, he will be a good cover for Elderson. His older brother plays for oliseh's team -fortuna sittard- as a striker.

Uduokhai is a CB and can only be a deputy to Leon, Ekong, Omeruo.
