My prayer is for every Nigerian player to do well Nwakali included but one has to be realistic. I will leave it at that out of respect to the opinions of some posters here I hold in high esteem. BascoVanVeli: People will laugh cos it is a cool thing to make fun of Kelechi Nwakali but this comment is borderline ridiculous. Not only did Victor just help win the Scudetto he is a player that the club know they are in a fight to keep. He could get them to sign their janitor at this point talkless of a player that has actually been performing in the Spanish 2nd division. Plus he has 1 year left on his contract and Napoli can snag him for peanuts which falls in line with the type of signings they have made lately. |

You can only charge based on what your region is offering

Check Sadio's figures at Liverpool he wasn't dropping 20 plus league goals steady every season. You could count on him to score double figures in the league but definitely not in the class of Kane, Salah, Lewa, Haaland etc who will drop 20-30 league goals every season. raumdeuter: Lewandowski already dropped 13 goals in the first 13 La Liga games That is the level we expected for an experienced attacker we spent money on |

Good point you make but OBJ and Yar Adua were in the same political party meaning there should have been some understanding of the policy of government. It wasn't like a Biden (democrat) reversing Trump (republican) policy. They were both PDP and I assume OBJ would have adequately briefed Yar Adua. BlueRayDick: Funny enough, I blame Obasanjo for the fallout of the sale and reversal of sale of the refinery. Today it looks as if Obasanjo sold the refineries and then Yar Adua just come on board and reversed the same immediately ; well what happened was not as simple as that .
Obasanjo was president for 8 good years, he had access to the best economic advisers , he could see the current situation of things and the foreseeable future; yet he didn’t sell the refineries till he was leaving .
Yar Adua like a typical naija politician would assume saw it as a Greek gift that may mess up his administration that was still in its infancy . Having observed the wide outcry and criticism of the sales and different labour unions promising strikes upon strikes, he had no choice but to make the populist move of reversing the sale.
The identity behind true consortium that bought the refineries didn’t help matters . Dangote, Otdeola’s zenon and transcorp along with rivers state govt . Most people just saw it as the political class selling off assets of the nation to their friends as croonies.
Maybe if obasanjo had sold it during the middle of his tenure and saw the privatization process through like he did telecoms sector, things might be different now |

Mane before he got injured scored 6 league goals and provided 3 assists in 14 games not exactly horrible figures for someone joining a new team in a new league. If not for Yar Adua who reversed the sale of those refineries, maybe just maybe those that bought it might’ve be running it efficiently now. |

How will BAT hope to increase spending when our revenues are so low? I was reading a statement from Edo governor Obaseki that unless something quickly is done FG won't be able to pay salaries beyond June. larride: Bros there’s a different between government spending and government borrowing.
In fact there’s no restriction for government borrowing except you want to borrow from the CBN as the last resort, that’s where there’s a restriction to 5% of your last year revenue. And that’s what Buhari broke.
What Tinubu is proposing is to remove restriction on government spending. During every year budget presentation, there’s also a finance policy that goes along with that budget which most times is always under the short term or medium term expenditure framework. This framework sets a cap on what the government can spend which is usually a % of the GDP or Revenue.
You can read this world bank article that was released last year on why Nigeria needs to remove the restrictions on government spending.

My thoughts as well. The early goal they conceded panicked them. You also 100% right that they need to function as a team not every time relying on individual display of skills. Ugbade get plenty work. mostob: This team is talented but they need to calm down and play their football. They were too hasty and ended up misplacing passes. Also, they tend to overdo sometimes. Simple pass to your free teammate is not in their talent bank, they must sha run enter traffic. |

Me and Goodjoe don't share the same opinions when it comes to political candidates but I refuse to attack his ethnicity which is what you're doing ironically doing what you say you're 'fighting' against. codemaniacs: Nope...
Again, the first instinct of humans is to survive so no matter where a person's parents are based they will always give their child an ethnic name.
If you were for mutual respect for all tribes then it's TheGoodJoe posts you would have quoted and discourage coveting other peoples fully grown crops ( wealth, politics, lands e.t.c ).
But like TheGoodJoe you're also hiding behind "we are all humans" and "we all have the same privileges as the indigenes" mentality. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 1:49pm On May 03, 2023 |
Nope you choose the labels you decide to give yourself. Even though your parents are Yoruba if they have decided to give you an Igbo or Fulani name and raise you in those aforementioned tribes cultures you will have no idea of your so called 'Yorubaness' I'm for mutual respect for all tribes and cultures however basic humanity I insist should be our watch word. The Roman Empire was once one of the most powerful nations on earth and I'm sure considered themselves the most civilized but what happened to them? They crumbled into obscurity and heaven didn't collapse. codemaniacs: On Earth there's no humanity.. there's only survival of the fittest..
We are our ethnicity first before anything else.
And stop trying to detribalise people because when you do that you're disrespecting the ethnicity of that person.
When a person in a forest and a lion or a wild animal sees the person the lions first instinct is to survive by killing the person and eating the person
A human's first instinct is also to survive either by growing THEIR OWN crops to eat in THEIR OWN LAND or by killing other humans who have grown their crops and stealing the crops from the humans they have just killed and also stealing their land.
If you don't grow and maintain the crops in your OWN LAND then your eyes will be on the crops in other people's land and that will lead to you attacking other people and trying to manipulate them and confuse them that we are all humans.
That is the summary of I:gbos and f: ulanis in Nigeria.. |

I have refrained from engaging in any political discuss on this thread but I will break the rule this one time to correct some of your impressions. First you should realise we are all humans firstly before we start ascribing tribal identities to ourselves. Ethnic identities were labels we met when we were born so using that label to solely define our humanity is a misnomer for me cos I could easily have been born to an Igbo, Fulani or Bini household which could skew my current world view. Yes it's normal to embrace or have pride in ones tribal affiliations but that shouldn't bestow on one visions of ethnic or tribal supremacy but rather what should give you pride is your level of humanity. And this goes for anyone promoting ethnic agenda to attack other groups whether Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo or Igede. Yes you're at liberty to call out any hypocrisy or negative agenda but resist the urge to generalise and paint everybody with the same brush. Bad behavior is not equal to tribal groups. Please in future let's avoid political discuss on this thread and stick strictly to football related matters. At best we can create a separate thread to debate all these issues to our heart's content. codemaniacs: I hope you're seeing what's happening in Su:dan.
If Yorubas don't impose themselves in and on Lagos then there will be riots and wars fought in Lagos against Yorubas with foreign interests supporting non-Yorubas.
A Su:dan like war in Lagos will affect every Nigerian who has relatives in Lagos.
Azikwe tried to politically get Lagos and the SW region. Ojukwu tried to use warfare to get Lagos.. Peter Obi and CRV tried politically to get Lagos.
Your agreement is not needed.
Over 60 years and counting only Igbos have targeted and are still targeting Lagos and Yorubas.
TheGoodJoe said "Lagos is not made only for Yorubas" and over the years his not the only one who has this mindset and I'm cautioning him because such mentality leads to Sudan like and Rwanda like wars and Lagos is no where near SE Nigeria so if there's war in Lagos you can be sure it will be a pogrom against non-yorubas especially Igbos.
Is it a crime for Igbos to live and be successful in the SE where there own territory is? |

Few weeks ago I would have said Kvara but Osimhen has been the slightly more consistent. To be fair it has been a truly team effort from Meret the Goalkeeper, Jesus and Kim the defenders, Anguissa and Politano in midfield. Osimhen and Kvara however have been the driving force for me. Largebanned2: When Napoli officially wins the league title (Anytime soon) who will Analyst decide as the main architect of winning? Victor or Kvara? Some will claim that victor has been at the team for the past 2 seasons without winning any trophies until Kvara arrival this season. While some will claim that, he is their highest goal scorer and most important contributor. Without any biased, who has been Napoli best player this season Victor or Kvara?? Komehn you’re one of the most unbiased commenters here and I will appreciate your input. Anyone else can also input on this specific topic.
