Sadly it won't change as State governments continue to run clubs.

I wonder why for a club like Enyimba the Abia state government hasn't tried a kind of PPP model so that ex-footballers, business men can invest heavily in the club. They will in turn spend heavily to upgrade training facilities, improve the youth team setup and scouting. Imagine Aba as the Mecca for youngsters of SE extraction to come horn their skills. The potential money to make from selling such players would be so enormous.

Look at Remo selling Ebenezer straight to Inter and you can bet they would have put a percentage fee into his contract whenever he's sold to other clubs in the future.

soetanoreoluwa:
Remo star is an example of spending money on training facilities, on coach development and youth teams. the owner of remo star is making a whole of profit from this development.
I hope other NPL team look into this and not turn the team to political appointee team where it serve as rewards for politician that supported them.

Congrats also to Remo Stars a fantastically run club.

All the best to Nigerian clubs that will rep the country in next season's CAF competitions.

Clock win treble twice no manager born of woman except Pep has achieved that.

If e easy to use money win UCL PSG for don win tey tey plus Chelsea would have won more than two times.

Abeg make that kind broken clock come coach Nigeria if na so we go dey win.

He was eventually going to win the thing one day after well over a decade of managing top top teams and failing. 😂

Seeing how PSG and Chelsea have managed to implode even with similar finances available has made me reassess and agree he is a great manager and not the false prophet I used to think he was.

It's not exactly breaking news that Onuachu is not the fastest and most physical of players.

Good for him he got to test himself in the EPL sadly it didn't work out.

Sometimes these things are hit and miss. Emmanuel Dennis flopped in Germany moved to EPL performed well in his first season. Timo Werner was scoring goals for fun in the Bundesliga moved to EPL became average. So these things happen.

Yes countries subsidy certain items but we should rather target things like education, healthcare, transportation and agriculture to support instead of fuel subsidy that is unsustainable.

Truth is as we are now there's no ideal time to remove subsidy so the sooner it's removed and we begin to find solutions to the fallout the better.

Obaaderemi2:
I'm curious to see how this can be achieved. But if he can do it that will be good. He needs to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal. I support fuel subsidy removal but not entirely eliminating it like we have done. Transport costs would go up and spark more inflation. But what's done is done sha.

What I know and I've said here in the past is that these countries we're copying all have subsidies in different form.
Iran subsidizes cooking oil and other sundry items. Even the almighty America have fuel subsidy in certain forms. Or how do you explain buying petrol in Georgia at 0.90$ while you are paying over $1 in Ghana and Kenya and now Nigeria?
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by chrisooblog: 9:32pm On Jun 03, 2023
I guess this is one area the FG and States have to do better ensuring all public transport convert to either diesel or gas.

BRTs in Lagos run on diesel but the danfo buses, taxis, and small shuttle buses run on petrol.

vaxx:
fuel is not subsidized here( hence the expenses). But most of the commercial vehicle don't used petrol here . Our commercial busses are mostly on diesel while many taxis are on gas.

It seems petrol is only limited to private vehicle, you hardly come across commercial cars using petrol.

You make a good point on the bold but then again wasn't it the same CAF that gave Yekini, Amuneke, Ikpeba and Kanu AFOTY?

The years Mikel and Okocha lost out they had strong competition in Yaya Toure and Etoo who were phenomenal in those years but I agree sentiments largely helped those individuals clinch the award that year.

Osimhen is clearly the best African player this season. No caps.

elyte89:
Okocha had a better stat in afcon and also did well in club…yet Dem do am wayo

Same with mikel …even won champions league,

Deres somthing u guys refuse to realize…. It seems caf don’t like or align with English speaking countries hence d players from anglophone must over achieve Dan deir fellow players from francophone countries b4 dey are considered as best

Like I said earlier, caf won’t give osimhen dt award 🥇

I won’t be surprise if d final 3 man list is out and u c something like Mahrez, bono/hakimi and salah, leaving out osimhen…caf can b dt bias
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 7:22pm On Jun 03, 2023
Mahrez has won titles yes. A potential UCL winners medal would give him a serious edge but he hasn't been such an integral player for City this season. I can mention at least five players who have been more impactful so in that regard I don't think he should win AFOTY.

Hakimi ko, Ganiyu ni.

Bonou has done well but goalkeepers hardly win such awards but let's wait and see.

Osimhen on the other hand first if we look at the African scene is the current highest goal scorer in the AFCON qualifiers. Second in club football he played a prominent role in helping Napoli clinch their first scudetto title in 33 years. He is the first and only African to finish top scorer in Serie A. Performed well in the Champions League. Without him Napoli would probably not have won the league. So in terms of overall impact Osimhen stands out.

Morocco's WC run was fantastic and historic but it was more of a team performance than a single individual standing out hence why I think Bonou and especially Hakimi shouldn't win.

elyte89:
Caf footballer of d year

1…is eida mahrez or any of hakimi/bono
2hakimi/bono
3 osimhen

Caf go do deir wayoo…sure thing😎

Yes the price per kg has gone down. 12kg that used to retail for about 10k is now 8k plus.

Don't mind Buhari they supposedly launched a CNG program to convert fuel powered vehicles to gas powered but nothing concrete came out of it.

Yeah crude oil price has been going down of recent but your PMS still costs more than ours.

Gbam!

A lot of pains are in store no doubt but a lot of investment opportunities too on the horizon. Alternative energy transportation services to explore, ride sharing services, import of more fuel efficient vehicles.

With the imminent implementation of the unified FX rate inflation will likely go up to as much as 30% according to experts hopefully the food inflation component can be brought down with diesel prices crashing currently.

Yeah Osimhen should have clinched the MVP Award. All respect to Kvara he had a fantastic first half of the season but he fizzled out towards the end. Victor on the other hand was consistent throughout and was especially prominent in the last few months in the season to help Napoli seal the scudetto title. The fact that Kvara has not had a single goal contribution in the last 10 league matches except for causing one penalty against Fiorentina makes it that more obvious.

BascoVanVeli:
It is criminal that he didn't win the player of the year. Like Gucci Mane one of my favourite rappers used to say, they used "Polite racism" on him. Gave it to his teammate so if he says anything he seems selfish.

Since the night of Thursday June 1, access to social networks Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Youtube has been restricted in Dakar, Senegal and in several other cities in the country. The bold is all that matters. Why are you so bothered to hear from the biological dad when you don't know him from Adam. Abi is it the father you want to marry? Your wife to be and in-laws have told you who the significant people in their lives so why bring stress on yourself where there is non?

Unless their is a red flag you've noticed in your fiancée relax and carry on with your preparations.

Even if you are curious you can use style to ask her friends or family members what really happened but seriously whatever answer you get your woman has told you the man doesn't feature in her life. Respect that and move on with your wedding preparations.

MetaBroadband:
Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.

My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.

Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.

Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.

Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?

Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?

What can you say about this?

Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away?
