Chief you don cast me o youngie like me. grin

Yes you're spot on in your description of Osimhen. He's one of the few top forwards in the world right now whose physical presence genuinely unsettles defences. Since Agali I don't think we've had a forward who's also so commanding in the air.

Almost 100% sure he will pass Yekini's record if he remains injury free God willing.

Philosopher1979:
Since u are an old timer i will tell u.
Osimhen is a combination of yekini and amokachi at the same time. He can batter a defence like amokachi and also score goals. That his pressing and hardwork is amokachi like and he has yekini scoring instinct.
He can disorganize a defence so the other forwards can score.
Thats my assesment of him.

Eleyi is a very mid governor.

If not that PDP or any reasonable opposition is nonexistent in Ogun Abiodun should be losing by a wide margin on Saturday.

Your head dey there!

You can also add the goal against Gabon where he ''heighted'' the goalkeeper or the scissors kick against Kenya in 1992.

Philosopher1979:
I remember the goal yekini scored against algeria or ivory coast in 1993.
Everybody taught he wanted to cross the ball but then he just hit it inside the net. It was a technical goal.
He also acored a tree kick away against congo in the 90s i have forgotten the year

This is a misconception bro.

Yes Yekini was no Jayjay or Ronaldo de lima but baba get some nice tekkies that year check out his goals and you will understand what I mean. Baba was seriously underated in that aspect.

yekini was fast but not technical

Orban looks a special player however I'm also of the school of thought that it would be too soon to extend him a SE invite. In my opinion I think he should be allowed to fully settle playing top flight European football before we bring him to the senior national team. This will give adequate time to see if his form is a flash in the pan or the real deal. It's one thing to be naturally talented but the mentality of an elite player is a different kettle of fish and it's too early to judge if Gift has it only time will eventually reveal that.

If by next qualifiers in September he's still doing the business then by all means call him up.

Danielnino00:
Well, the Belgian league might not be a top league, but it has a reputation of producing talents.. A lot of Nigerian players are made it out of the league in recent years too.. But honestly, it isn't just the goals he is scoring that impress me.. It's his overall style of play..He is a rugged striker that seem to be good at set pieces.... It makes sense to have forward with different attributes in your team, cus there's always a point during a game that you would need them.

He doesn't even need to score 30 goals this season helping Napoli win the league again since the days of Maradona is enough. First African to finish top scorer in Serie A will be icing on the cake cool

Not an expert at road construction but let me take a pop at your question.

1. Materials for road construction you will buy from multiple vendors that's money going to companies.

2. Road construction is labour intensive you need to hire many hands. Worker that was probably jobless now has change to take care of wife, kids, mother in the village and maybe mistress.

3. Workers will need to eat and drink something meaning mamaputs, eateries will spring up to cater to their needs. They'll probably also need medicare from work related hazards or injuries throw in doctors and nurses that will be needed to treat them.

4. For the industrial growth bit I produce goods in my little company getting it across town to my client is hell due to traffic, bad roads or lack of alternative route which leads to loss in man hours that ultimately affects the bottom line. Now an access road has been built that allows me to faster get my products to my customers this means I can take on more orders in a day, leading to bigger profits which means I can hire more people that will help reduce the unemployment market.

All this few points I mentioned you can imagine how it would be if we had multiple projects running around the country. If your average northerner knows he can earn go money working in some major project scattered all over his state why would he leave his comfort zone to come to Lagos where his chances of making are not 100% sure?

A place like Tinapa apart from providing work to the locals who were involved in its construction would have continued to provide job opportunities linked to tourism and entertainment but sadly the governments of the day both state and federal didn't leverage on it.

For example if the Lagos State government hadn't leveraged on the opportunities that LFTZ offered the place would have become another white elephant project.

BlueRayDick:
What does infrastructure like Highways , flyovers and bridge construction have to do with unemployment/industrial growth .

Bro na me and you they inside this Lagos then. Wasn't Lagos turning to trash heap then? Don't forget it was under Ambode that Okada came back in full force. Have you forgotten how people were complaining about bad roads then? The blue line that didn't progress much under him nko? Or the sack of the Lagos State chaplain?

Ambode did well in many areas but don't make it sound like a reformist politician was kicked out. If Ambode were that popular he would surely have thrown his hat into the ring.

BlueRayDicks:
Baba, if Ambode were to be labor party’s flagbearer and contesting against Sanwoolu of APC in this election ; I can bet Sanwoolu no go even fit sleep again . This one he’s going about licking coldstone and attending different Sunday services in a day; he go just give up .

Alimosho alone where he commissioned 21 roads and 2 bridges in a day will just use vote suffocate him. Agege where he constructed pen cinema bridge and solved the eternal traffic problem in that axis nko ? Epe where he did not only build connecting roads alone , but also saw to the electrification of different communities .

In 2016 Ambode commissioned 114 roads within a day , but nobody will tell u about these things . The secondary schools and primary schools construction and improvement they are using to campaign for Sanwoolu now ; Ambode did same scattered all over the state . Anybody telling u Sanwoolu did better than Ambode in 4 years is just lying to himself

Yes you're right he fixed that airport road also started the Agege flyover that Sanwo-Olu completed. Like every human being Ambode had his positives but it will be untruthful to say he didn't have his negatives.

Olowunl01:
Haba Bros; Ambode Tried; even as an occasional visitor, the guy was a big bold visionary kind of governor, you see that airport road work eeh; even if it just that he did is enough for me to vote him. From MMA to Oshodi previously was not a sight that any serious city should welcome its visitor, he changed that, how I wished he totally completed it and beautified; would mean you could go from MMA to VI and not be confronted with eyesores; most cities have ghettos or eyesores but it shouldnt be what you see 1st upon arrival.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 1:07pm On Mar 10, 2023
Well that's debatable the Lagos I remember from that time was dirt everywhere and plenty potholes. He did well for Epe and built the BRT exchange at Oshodi other than that nothing earth shattering if you ask most people.

Ambode was removed because a lot of the Lagos APC stakeholders didn't like him not necessarily because Tinubu had issues with him well at least that's from the gist I heard, but I guess the opposition is more comfortable with the narrative that Ambode stood up to BAT hence why he was removed.

Ellexy:
Please what was the mortal sin of Ambode who even did well more than Sanwo Olu?

My colleague who's a card carrying APC said he voted Obi, same with my brother and so many others.

GRV has every right to contest for the governorship of Lagos State and I personally detest the dog-whistling antics of some Yoruba irredentists that said Gbadebo's use of ethnic slurs and abuses directed at Yoruba people was always going to elicit this kind of reaction.

BlueRayDick:
You know the funny thing ? It was Yorubas who dominate places like Kosofe , Somolu , Alimosho , Ikeja etc that voted against APC at the presidential elections . Not necessarily Igbo’s who don’t dominate those areas. Igbos are mostly domiciled in large numbers in Ojo , Ajeromi Ifelodun , Oshodi Isolo , Ajao Estate , etc .

So both Yorubas and Igbos voted for Obi in the presidential election . It’s not just igbos; that’s why U see some politicians stooge call those of us Yorubas omo ale cos we voted against APC

I think you're right o. That Remo Stars boy who went to Inter Milan should be considered. He's definitely talented than any midfielder we have in U-20 team at the moment.

Philosopher1979:
Victor eletu ebenezee akinsanmiro another giy in real valladolid then thompson ishaka are some players in europe we can put into that team.
Where a player is is a question of time. A non academy player will be in europe in a year and even vice versa. We should get our best players.
Our grassroots football is tied to foreign leagues and sometimes our best teenagers are allready abroad before we notice. Victor eletu has been in ac milan since he was 15. Its tge way of modern football.
I forgot we have a striker in sao paoulo youth team.
Sorry our besy players go abroad at a very young age.
That boy in surulere that dribbles like okocha will be abroad before he is 20. We have to know this.

Supreme Court has already made a pronouncement on the 25% FCT Issue. In 2003 when Buhari dragged Obasanjo to the election tribunal one of the prayers by the Buhari legal team was that OBJ shouldn't have been declared president because he didn't win 25% of FCT during the presidential election of that year however the Supreme Court ruled in favour of OBJ saying the FCT is also considered a state meaning if you get 25% in 37 states counting the FCT you're good.

Even logically are we saying if somebody gets 25% in 36 states he won't be declared the winner because he didn't get 25% in FCT?

BlueRayDick:
I’m also very much interested in the courts particularly the final Supreme Court judgement on this election matters . I really want to to see how the judgement will pan out.

Recently the former AGF Aondoakaa was on AriseTv and he insisted INEC erred in declaring Tinubu the outright winner of the election because in 2008 the supreme made a pronouncement that the winner of presidential election must obtain 25% in the FCT. It will be interesting to see if the Supreme Court still stand by this decision or it will overrule itself on it.

I guess we don’t have any other option but to watch and see how things pan out sha

My theory is that Wike had his men deliberately over inflate APC's figures so that it would be so obvious it would get cancelled for Rivers state.

First aim operation stop Atiku winning.

Second aim stop APC without making it look obvious he's working against them. Keeps him looking strong as a major opposition to APC who didn't sell his party out as long as the PDP senators and HOR win convincingly.

Come to think of it why isn't the Labour Party abusing Wike for running things for PDP for NASS posts but only angry at him for rigging for APC as per presidential?

afrodoc2:
Obi obviously did not win the election but the irregularities and rigging is an avenue for him to make a claim, and i don't blame him for that. What i don't understand is why did INEC announce those results when they knew they were going to upload a different set of results shortly after?
The forces fighting against this country are many.
