Fast forward second day I was there around 5.10am, people don dey there aidy, wonder if people nor dey sleep undecided. immediately I saw the security working towards us, I just do a Kenny grin. So, I was the second person on the queue. We do all their normal parole. Now in the maim room where future are decided. We do the normal scanning then straight to the next line, still the second person. Found out na window 6 I go dey(looks Chinese bakan bakan young guy) immediately I remembered some folks said he denies and don't give time for explanation. ME: to pursue my PhD degree in mathematics at the university of Memphis after which I'll be coming back to take up a lecturing and research position at futa.

VO: why this university?
Me: am keen on joing prof Thomas hagen research group because he has an ongoing research that matches mine( this time I dey use hand dey describe, dey smile like say I won lotto). The purpose of my research with him is to understand the interaction between turbulence and wave which I believe will help me provide measures that will help reduce the effect of man made and natural disasters that befall our coastal ....vo cuts in....but I nor mind I complete my sentence ....coastal areas in naija.

VO: What are you going to do after your studies?
Me: I'll be coming back to Nigeria to take up a lecturing and research position at futa. Am also going to become a research consultant to Nigeria environmental management agency with a view to carrying out a research that'll improve.....vo cuts in again...(this point he stared at my i20 again and start typing like he's been doing since the interview Adam)

VO: so PhD in maths. When did you get your MSc?
Me: ooh actually b.tech was in 2014.

VO: (looks at i20 for some time) Do you have the letter from your professor confirming this funding?
Me: yes, I gave it to him

VO: (after reading for some seconds) this is so nice
Me: yes very great. Thank you. **I wan talk but I reason the guy nor too like talk**

VO: **types for some seconds**puts my passport in that kolo...you'll need your i20 at point of entry. Pick up your visa at this point. Congrats.

Thanks for the ielts lead.. .a cousin of mine needs 7.0 minimum in all sections and 7.5 overall and has failed to get that 3 times now...hence maybe lesson would help

I have a few materials on IELTS that might help but they are really not much. Her best bet would be to visit www.ieltsbuddy.com there are so many resources should could benefit from there. Truth is you don't really need a tutorial for the Exam. Everything can be done virtually. For the speaking, tell her to watch videos on YouTube. There are so many videos on how to ace the speaking test. For the writing, she should go to playstore abi na app store and download ielts app for writing. I can't remember the particular one I used as I have deleted it but she should go with the one with the best reviews and highest rating. She can practice listening on ielts buddy. Com and official British Council website. Ko lo tun ku? Reading.. This involves techniques but I can help with hints.

Yes it is possible. I did exact same thing with no hassles. On the US immigration website, FAQ section, you'll be advised on an email address to send your request to stating the initial SEVIS ID and the new one, amongst other things. You'll also state the reason why you are transferring. You will also attach your initial payment confirmation.

Thank you very much. God bless you

Good morning everyone. Let's say I applied to 4 schools, already have 3 admits and waiting for the final one, can I go ahead and pay the SEVIS fee? If the 4th one gives me a mouth watering offer, is it possible to transfer the SEVIS fee to that school BEFORE appearing at the embassy?

[quote author=kenniez26 post=50069655]@ Ferdinand, the only way u can confirm is to call ur destination to know whether they have seen the documents. That is how registered nipost always do when it comes to tracking, it might have reached the final destination but the tracking will still remain in the same location[/quote
True is this! Sent like 6 docs and they all got to their FINAL destinations but not in a time economical manner, I must confess. So, best check with your program coordinator. He/she fit help you search the nook and crannies of your proposed school.

Hmm, they would see through the smoke screen you're trying to pull. And more often than not, PhD slots get filled up quicker for the same reason (money), and they most likely won't accept. Instead of that, you can email or call the grad co-ordinator telling him/her your condition. Copy your proposed advisor too, if you have one already. There's no harm in asking. If you're denied, life goes on.
Thank you very much mr/miss/Mrs happy day. I'd do them a mail instead. God bless you. I'd let you know how this pans out.

You mean even before you start your first semester? The question is why? It would be stressful on the part of the department to do that for you. So you had better be ready to make it worth their while.
noooooo, like immediately after you are notified if admission in order to receive funding.

Sorry fam! Every disappointment is a blessing in disguise, just look on the bright side. I'm sure there would be testimonies soon. Thanks Aunty Gidiismyhome and Pastor Walspring, the great NL humanitarians for even bothering to help. God bless you both. All the best Young money but your moniker Tho!

Well except if its April fools day or APC fake promise of 1naira to 1dollar ..... the exchange rate is going up up up and not down yet so its highly unlikely it will then drop from 53k to 31k as at 31k its way less than d official dollar rate....... It is more likely that soon the rate will be increased from 53K self sad sad
I think it would be changed on the 28th of this month but whether it would be reduced or increased is what I can't say.

ID card doesn't really count, once they get to knownthat the document (i.e transcript) is going to a school. They will give you the student discount which is 8,700. But don't just assume that they will know, ensure u ask for it.

Thank you very much Governor Obaseki!! Na 8,700 sure pass
