genius43: It will even get MIUI 13, and MIUI 11 is already available for Redmi Note 8 Pro, don't know if Nigeria region have started receiving it.
What do you mean by apps collection icon? What you called App drawer earlier. Wow, it just showed me the MiUi11 and I have downloaded and installed it. My region is also not Nigeria Only how to get a full glance view of apps is my concern now than swinging right everytime. I just tried something, I uninstalled my WhatsApp, went to play store and it was still installed on my phone, meaning is just the secondary icon I deleted, the one u see when u swipe right on Android phones, I do believe there should be a real app collection or drawer where u see all clear, not from the settings too. |

genius43: Xiaomi don't have an app drawer, just swipe right on the home screen to access all installed apps That's the only one working, thought I will get to see apps collection icon, not from the one in settings. Nawa Hope I don't miss out on the essential apps. My note 8 pro came in on the Mi10, do u know if the 8 pro will get Mi11? |

Basalt: Lol. I understand your point. It is not always he that runneth that wins the race but atleast try to run first... When you come to Rome, you have to be like Romans. Its not the best for somebody to be in Germany for many years without atleast knowing how to communicate with Deutsch let alone act like Germans. You will make it here more when you sabi speak their langauge and develope yourself True, Language is indispensable here, i have not disreputed that |

0yewale: I am not really sure that was best way to convey a (seemingly advisory) message, that is more of a personal experience, opinion instead of factual statements. (Like Op really made it sound initially, as if there was a reported outbreak/effect kinda in the country about some foods).
The core message I can deduce, is that people coming into the country need to be more aware of their own body system, status and how it works especially as regards allergies - all forms (drugs, foods, weather conditions) which I will assume most of us in/from Nigeria don't really care about or pay attention to .e.g Lactose tolerance for Milk. Some might learn and discovered this, here, through the hard way (maybe this is what Op really meant) but that has nothing to with the food being bad but largely ignorance.
Not like one can survive forever in Germany without eating German foods ...so ... not like that are even so much "original" German foods to start with U got my point, not a panic statement. Advisory. If I was not told about the difference in their milk earlier, I would not have known about the high fatty contents in some and many of their sugary and salty packaged foods and snacks. I eat their food and wouldn't say don't eat, my Moslem guy has been eating one kind pork meat or so and he never knew until we were told by someone that saw us eating a lot of it. My guy stopped and told me it was against his religion. Not just that, when u start feasting on their food alone, even u will know the difference...... Like he advised, I will actually go and sit down Sha, is nothing. |

jmanity: Abstain from what?? Eating? My message earlier today is very explicit. Be cautious of them German foods simple and not to eat. In other words, make sure u know what u are eating and any side effects if any and always watch out for the nutritional contents of what you are eating. Like u will see a milk now, u watch out the fat content to decide if is what u want. There are different levels of fat contents of their milk. Just don't be a glutton here and eat any of their food offered at any size, cos definitely u will always have or see a lot to eat. Just be wary about it simple |

Basalt: SOME MISTAKE NIGERIANS MAKE IN GERMANY
1. Not learning the language. Most of my coursemates didn't register for a German language course here or even learned it from Nigeria before coming to Germany. Unless you plan to base in an English speaking country after graduating, it's unwise not to learn Deutsch before graduating. 2. Not possessing any relevant skill. Most Nigerians here don't bother doing an internship in firms related to their field because most firms will prefer those that can speak German (which they can't) and as a result, end up graduating without any industrial experience or even language skills. 3. Chasing rats and leaving the Elephant Most Nigerians here chase rats leaving out the Elephant. They have that Essau mentality of immediate satisfaction. Always trying to make money by all means while forgetting that part-time jobs are not professional jobs. I understand that many people came here with loan and there is need to pay it back but immediately you start putting all your energy on part time works forgetting the three most important things which are your studies, Gernman language, Industrial experience/Skills. This attitude will make your education suffer, you will learn no Deutsch and have no skills to fetch you the professional job you need. And most of them end up starting over again and funny enough making the same mistake. Thats why you see some people that have been here for 8yrs achieving nothing because though they make money, some waste it on vacations and other irrelevancies. You have to study the system, know what they need and go for that. Is parttime job what you intend to do forever? If the answer is NO, then think twice. 4. Relating only with fellow blacks. Inasmuch as its good to relate with your brothers but the fact is that you need Germans to remain in Germany. You need to act like them, speak like them, think like them, behave like them in other to be like them. I don't want to counter your opinions, but this your last statement is just non..... Don't look at people that way o, wetin u no know pass u. Some have other ways to kill their birds. Don't come and be comparing and think u that go to class are "over-productive". I bonded with someone recently, he just left my side now sef, he looks unserious but only one or two here knows what he has been able to achieve in just 5 years of being here which include what many of us are praying for. Take this from me, "no one is unserious in Germany". Don't come and be looking ur neighbor, just mind your business look straight and pray ur plans pay o. Nobody advises another here o especially in the light of what u wrote, here no be Nigeria. no be u carry them come and how d go succeed with their own plans, u won't understand. No be person wey call police go always win case sir, just mind your business and pray for grace to see u through |

Odedenshi1: Anyone planning to write IELTS, It’s now 73K with MOD IDP, it took effect on Oct 1st, 2019, it’s still 75K with BC. The major difference is in their remark fees, while MOD IDP charge about 46K for remark, BC charge 15K which is refundable should there be a change in any of the module. I trust your Sunday is going well, Enjoy the rest of your day.
Odedenshi1 obviously a lot of people were choosing them over BC but now..... MOD is Australia BC is UK d are just same thing, thpough it has been argued that the first is more lenient |
