The hypothesis of abiogenesis is rife with many failures and poor reasoning. A common example is how OOl scientists typically presume experiments in artificial environments and human intervention act as 'plausible scenarios' for life origins. As it is, there is a better explanation of how life came to be, intelligence t design. The only reason why it is not accepted in mainstream science is because of its divine implications.
well said dude! People first belive before they reason not the other way round. It's basic human behaviour. People belive something first then try to rationalize it not the other way round (i.e. Rationalize then believe)
Christianity EtcRe: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by chrmn1: 6:50pm On Oct 30, 2016
I think the major challenge scientists will encounter in trying to figure this out is dating events back to its origin. When they do, for example if they find out that the starting point was point zero, the natural question would be, how did point zero come about? It's a funny subject

It is annoying when people who know nothing about a subject pretends to be a authority on said topic and therefore spew ignorance all over the place.

Astrophysicists and cosmologists say that they have no idea what was or what happened before and immediately after the big bang, because the laws of physics do not hold or apply under such conditions. This simply translate to it is unknowable.
Where did you read that scientists admitted they can answer the question of where the universe came from? ( I am not talking about the material universe).
Where have I been that I somehow missed your post?? Anyways I must congratulate you as you seem to be a brilliant chap. I'm aware that the science world does not know the origin of life (I mean the origin and not a point along the process, the very beginning of the universe) but I wanted you to admit it by yourself which you just did. So let's say I got you there, shall we??

Does anyone in the house know if the 2 FRM parts can be taken in the same diet? If possible, is it advisable to take both exams in the same diet? Finally what are the prospects of getting employed in a Risk Management role in Banking, Consulting and O & G for someone who is already working in the Financial Services Sector? Would appreciate any informed responses

Because the the question is unanswerable. Nobody was there at the start of the universe.

Your own explained is as illogical as it is stupid. You want to use emotional blackmail to force the senseless argument that the universe was spoken into being by a Jewish or Jewish bias man who is uncaused, but the universe itself cannot be uncaused. Sounds very silly.
You guys say all sorts of nonsense;
My God lives outside space and time because he created space and time. - any evidence?

My God is eternal because the universe is internal ( has beginning and end) - any evidence?

My God is perfect, complete, omnipotent, omnipresent, etc, but get angry and vindictive if his ego is not continuously and permanently massaged by humans.
I think you're getting ahead of yourself. Never mentioned anything about Jewish or Islam or whatever. You say the question is unanswerable because nobody was there at the start of the universe. I do not think so. Through the years science has been able to find out knowledge of events and happenings thousands of years prior so it ought to be doable and so the excuse of 'nobody was there' doesn't hold water. It's also interesting that science does not admit that it cannot answer that question (which is not a bad thing) and so it's not unfair to throw the question at science. At the end of the day we all are seeking for knowledge.

It's been 400 years since Galileo turned his telescope to the heavens and changed our view of the universe. In those 400 years science has been able to disprove thousand years old beliefs and speculations. Since science takes a procedure; investigate and verify, it's normal for it to take it's time in unravelling the rest of the wonders of the cosmos. The ones we can't explain today will be left for our children tomorrow just as Darwin and the rest gave us theories which we've been able to verify even if their proponents died hundreds of years ago.

However, the origin of life is not far from being unravelled. The fusion that goes on inside the cores of stars made carbon, the most important component of life. Amino acids, which carbon is a key component, has the ability to copy itself and that's the origin of life.

Everything that exist on earth was made in the core of stars. Stars themselves are clusters of hydrogen atoms. Hydrogen atoms were made within the first 3 minutes of the big bang and, just as you and I agreed, a God is possibly behind the big bang. What I stand to counter is that this God behind the big bang can never be the same gods of the religions.
no sweat only pointing out that whatever the big banger was, it does not seem in the purview of science to unravel it. You see if science had told us that the answer to the question of the origin of all life is still inconclusive and stopped there, it would have been a very dignifying thing to do but science tries to explain the origin of life in a flawed/unscientific manner by equating the bang and the banger so to say and has stuck to it pending when a clearer picture is obtained and this is what I disapprove of.....just saying (don't get it twisted, I too am a huge fan of science)

Sensible? I am sure Boko Haram members think they are sensible.

The option I have which seems sensible to me in this matter is for us to tell ourselves THE TRUTH< which is........

We have absolutely no knowledge about how the world came into existence or about any Gods

that is the simple truth. Let us stop lying and deceiving people with superstitious guesses and just admit . WE DO NOT KNOW
It amazes me that for millions and millions of years science has not given us sufficient answer to what appears to be the simplest of all questions - where did it all from?

When all is said and done (I mean the venting against religion and it's role in societal ills, etc etc) we will still come back to this question

Shall we admit that the answer to the question is not in the purview of science? I don't know but I'm still curious as to why science does not seem to have the capacity to answer this question

.......

oglalasioux:
I mentioned my belief that a power is behind the big bang. Let's call that power God.

My point is; is the God of the big bang the same with the christian or Islamic God? My answer is NO and these are my reasons.

1. The first real evidence of the big bang was found in 1964. You can still see or hear the bang when your radio or tv is tuned away
from broadcast channels. It's not speculation. Turn on your tv or radio to empty channel and see or hear it yourself. If it was the biblical or Koranic God that was behind the big bang, he must have revealed that to Moses and Mohammed. What the bible and Koran said about creation is far far from what
science has found out with clear evidences.

2. God of the big bang who made over 200 billion galaxies; each galaxy is in turn made up of 400 individual stars. The distance between two stars, example, the nearest one to our solar system, alpha centauri, is at
least 4.37 light years away. One light year looks like this in kilometers; 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. So a God who made such an astronomical universe will chose the Jews and the Arabs to administer the earth by bringing a vindictive religion that knows nothing more than killing each
other, spreading hate and carrying out genocidal murder for him. I don't think so.

3. I believe there's a God behind the big bang but I can never believe the bible nor the Koran was dictated by him. I think
mankind, especially the Jews, simply found
out the laws of physics that govern the universe; gravity, electromagnetism and the nuclear forces and manipulated them to their whims then created a god whom they will claim gave them that power (same for traditional African religion).

4. The bible and Koran are the best hand books for killers, murderers and usurpers. It can never have been authored by a God who made the whole universe.

5. How we find the earth; natural disasters,
diseases, wars, inequality, death etc are not as a result of Adam and Eve eating a forbidden fruit. When you know the history of the universe you'll know those flaws are inevitable. Take our solar system as an instance; out of the 8 planets, only earth
could develop life because of it's distance
from the sun. Everything in the universe is chance. Nothing anywhere is determining what or who we are. But the religions have taught us otherwise. It's erroneous to believe that a god somewhere will save a passenger out of a bus full and allow others perish in a road accident.

Let's take a breath.
Let me tell you what you're doing. You're leaving a simple question unanswered and repeatedly venting your fury on religious beliefs. Not that there's anything wrong with questioning stereotypes generally, only that in doing do you're leaving a simple question unanswered. Let us for a second forget bout what the Bible or Koran or whatever books there are says and address the timeless question of where did it all come from. I like your admission that there is a power behind the big bang or to put it as someone else did, for there to be a big bang there has got to be a big banger. I'm just curious to know what the power of the big bang is and why science, in all its grandeur and awesomeness has not been able to sufficiently explain something seemingly simple as the source of all life and finally but equally importantly why the big bang believers have actually BELIEVED it's findings as truth even though it still has not sufficiently explained the source of all the universe.
Christianity EtcRe: I'm Losing My Girlfriend Because Of My Disbelief... Am I Wrong? by chrmn1: 10:15pm On Jul 08, 2016
Yaksson:
the same place He was when His only son was being nailed to a cross, my friend, life don't turn out way we want it, for the fact that u loosed a loved one even after prayers doesn't mean God is not in existence, for the fact that "innocent" kids die daily in Syria and Africa doesn't mean God is not alive. Things are allowed to happen due to many facts;
1. God has given us free will to think and do as we please other wise we become like zombies.
2. The action of man brings about consequences which God in his greatness allows such men to bare them, after all men already have the knowledge of good and evil, so we know the kind of result our carelessness could cause but we go ahead anyway, then blame God for the outcome. e.g here in Africa, leaders know that investing in power and industrialize agriculture helps an economy, they go however for an easy pick- stealing public funds, allowing the children die of hunger, when God has blessed ur land with rainfall, resources, human labour, youths carry arms even when they know its wrong, they form militia against instituted authorities, stalling development and creating massive hunger and economic meltdown. So bro don't blame God for how the world is today, and dont say there is no God cos He allowed you to free will.
3. God is loving and if u come to him, you will find peace, but it doesn't mean u won't loose a love one or face difficulties, but u will understand how to go through such.
4. world is made up matter, matter are made up of atoms, atoms are made up of electrons+protons+neutrons, wat are the electrons or protons made of? who made them? how did they come into existence? was it by chance? why is it that atoms of one type of elements are exactly same with another same element even in a different part of the world but different from that of a different element next to it? then electron is negative due to its spin why is the proton positive? you think its all by chance? or a supreme being made them all?
5. Better believe in a God and even when u die and discover non, then you won't have missed any thing, than not to believe only to die and see that there is actually one.
6. are u a moral individual? I know its yes, you don't like little kids dying, u obviously don't like abortion, u have things u consider immorai. But wait, one wat standard did u judge ur morality, since there is no God is there any need to be moral, we can live a life of lawlessness and be like Hitler, yes Hitler was an atheist so he murdered a whole tribe of Jews cos he believes no God hence no judgment after death. we can all be like him, rape any girl u see pretty, kill any man who pose a threat to your fame or wealth, don't mind the laws of the land as if u obey man and keeps his laws, you will be inferior to humans, some say we are gods ourselves and need no God, why then should u obey a human god and put ur seat belts on while u drive? why will u consider abortion wrong, wat did u use to draw ur judgments? tradition or culture? cos that varies from one person to another so wat is moral to u might be immoral to me.
7. Lastly pls do make time and search for the truth, there is only one purpose in life, to fulfill the will of the one that brought you to this world, not your parents as they and the ones before them were all brought just like you were, but the maker of heaven and earth, and all that are in it.
proud of you son. Even better, I know God's proud of you. Some people do not realize that even Jesus does cry. Mankind was legally given the right to live as he wants because he demanded that right pretty prematurely and was handed same but unfortunately, on the flip side, he was also given the burden to bear the consequences. The imperfection in the world today is a direct consequence of the point highlighted above.
CareerRelevance Of CISA Certification by chrmn1(op): 3:14am On Feb 08, 2016
Hello all,
I am a beginner in one of the commercial banks in Nigeria (older than 27 years though). I want to navigate my way to o&g directly or via experience in an audit company. I am currently doing an ICAN program but I'm realistically 2 years away from completing the program so I planned to put in for CISA (Chartered Information Systems Audit) this year because this certification doesn't have multiple stages. The plan is to have something handy as soon as possible and then I continue afterwards with my ICAN. Guys what do you think. I also know that CISA or ICAN is not an automatic ticket to the o&g sector but I want to boost my chances and I want to do that early enough. House, I need your honest and candid pieces of advice. Contributions from guys in finance depts in oil and gas, gurus in the house like xfire and jarus, well meaning guys like you, would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

The key here is to put yourself in the shoes of these people you tag busy-bodies. No way... Am giving her the benefit of doubt.... Please oyind17 dig well ... Dig deeper rescue your bro if need be
The first person making sense here. Those posters slagging her off should put themselves in her shoes and rather than suspect foul play, give her the benefit of doubt as strange things do happen in the world every time. If you visit your bros and see him running errands, the exact way oyimd17 described, I guess you'd dismiss the thought of foul play and say it's love or maybe she's sick or some flimsy excuse. If oyimd17's story is anything to go by, which is not out of the realms of possibility, then offer constructive advice rather than breathing down the neck of someone you do not even know to be informed enough to judge her correctly. My advise to oyimd17 though is, call him out and ask him questions or tell him outright that you don't like what you saw. He's your blood brother, so you owe that to him. You'd be cruel to see him falling into a ditch and pretend it's not your business. ITS EVERY BUSINESS OF YOURS. Even today if I see my elder do something gravely wrong, I respectfully but sternly rebuke him. Go do that dear. If it's a sad issue of her bossing him because she's the breadwinner, then you cannot do much to change things except by way of advice and prayers. But if it's diabolical in nature, then you can only rescue him by praying because whatever you say to him would be no better than hot breeze (that doesn't mean you should not try talking to him to changing though). In summary, you'd need to apply a great deal of tact to get to the root of the matter whilst not doing things that could destroy their home e.g. confronting the wife.

It's not about justifying it because others do it. It's about the way we throw unfounded aspersions at every U-17 or U-20 player without any proof that they are age cheats. If we really want to stop the trend of age falsification, then we should NAME and SHAME. Adokiye Amasiemeka did so, and Fortune Chukwudi's career ended pronto. It's unfair to just look at a squad of 18 players and just conclude that they are all over-aged without any shred of proof. Do we label all American athletes as drug cheats simply because Marion Jones, Justin Gatlin and some of their other athletes failed drug tests? Should we conclude that every gold medal won by an American, Russian or Chinese athlete was won because they are drug cheats?

Let's all stop playing holier than thou. If we use over-aged players then we are all guilt. From the parents of those players, to their teachers, classmates, those in their neighbourhoods, their Pastors, Priests, Imams, Academy coaches, national team coaches, everyone whose "brothers-cousins-friend" was in the same school with the age cheat and even the press who can expose cheats by just digging a little into their history. Enough of all these baseless aspersions. If you have proof, NAME and SHAME. Until then, we will just have to accept FIFA and their MRI scan.

And enough of all this Nigeria has won the World Cup, but haven't won the senior world cup blah blah blah. Argentina have won U20 five times between 1995-2007 and haven't won the World Cup since 1986. And that is a country with a much bigger pedigree than ours.

Naija universities! We pride ourselves as being very difficult to succeed in but my question is: is hoarding of points a global best practice? I would say no. Sometimes I wonder where they got the idea of points hoarding. I don't blame the students and graduates for marks and points hoarding since its the lecturers that are culprits, however I blame them for being so comfortable with the idea and taking it as best practice. How can you challenge something you endorse? In foreign institutions, when students deserve points, they get points and there's no issue of 'only the lecturer gets an A in this course.' I think the problem lies in our mindset that we must always struggle/hustle to succeed in life which is wrong. So never slag off that brother in a private university that did great cos it only exposes our penchant for the above mindset which I described.

The world certainly looks like God died!
No he's not dead. The reason why the world is the way it is is cos you and I, well I mean man in general, chose to take charge of things instead of allowing God do so. God who will not go back on His word has made man to choose his destiny. For example, He reckons true love by man towards Himself to be such that is borne out of choice and not the one that is remote-controlled as in the case of a robot. Someone defined Prayer as permitting God to step in in the affairs of life for He will not do so uninvited. Those that have dealt closely with the person of God through history tell that God is such a person that is very sensitive and when you tell Him, 'please go', He leaves, albeit soberly. He's mighty but He's meek. Ever read the account where Jesus cried? Like I said God will never go back on His word: He said 'the heavens are the Lord but the earth He has given to the sonsof men.' Men, not God, have ruined the world.

When theold testament saints died they didn't go to heaven but were reserved in a compartment of hades. Satan had the keys of death and hell(hades). But Jesus came to Hades to free them after defeating the devil and taking the keys away from him (see colossians 2). Afterwards they proceded to the heavens as the scripture says "he led captivity (the saints held down waitingfor the redemption of Jesus) in his train (See Eph 4 in NIV) and gave gifts to men"

I have a GMAT text (the latest one) but any time I have the opportunity to practice SHL questions on their website I realize more and more that they are two very different types of tests. Because I have very limited access to the Internet I decided to comb bookstores checking for SHL test materials but found none
Therefore I need someone to send a link or something to assist a brother prepare for SHL tests
Also I came in contact with a particular test link 'assassmentday.com' or something like that. How effective is that? SHL online tests seem to be much tougher the questions in that site
Thanks for your invaluable input!
