morning famz, am a bit popular here on nairaland but I had to create a new account for this thread. most of u here might finally guess my other moniker after reading my story but I don't wanna reveal my identity because some guys here might mock me later with it.
so guys, I really need ur advise and help. I met this my partner some years back in a party and we had our introduction but no wedding yet. along the line. I am into catering and also an event planner but my partner has no job but he's trying his best to get one, though he's from a wealthy family. but I am d one who fund all the bills because I always believed he will get a job soon an will do the needful. during the pandemic I sat him down and advised he should start a business and he said he has plans for that but he's not financially buoyant to fund the business and he said his father promised to give him some money to do the business. then after 2months(august) I saw no changes, then I asked him why d delay, he said his father hasn't given him d money then I asked how much he needed for d business, he said 2million, but I had only 1.4m with me, I promised to give him 1.2m to start from somewhere, which I did. after a week he said he needed just 300k to complete the business he's venturing to, I had nothing with me but because I believed in him, I sold my only car for 400k, and I gave it to him just to satisfy him. this is a car I use for business stuffs also. a week after I gave him all dis money, she stopped coming home, whenever I call him. he gives excuses about his business bla bla bla.. I tried to understand. meanwhile i gave him some money to pay d landlord earlier dis year which he didn't pay unknowingly to me. I was shocked when the landlord brought his boys, police, to throw out our properties last month. I asked d landlord why he would throw out my properties out of the house without any notice, he said he has been giving my husband d notice and our time is up. I am still trying to move from this shock, last I heard, my husband isn't in d country his numbers hasn't been going through, though he sent me a message that I shouldn't bother looking for him. my business has collapsed, I moved back to my mother's house. my son is really suffering, it's my mother that feeding both of us with the little things she sells. am really heartbroken and embarrassed. I have not bought clothes for my kid for this festive period. though I recently got a space where I can always sell sharwarma and BBQ with snacks. but most of my equipment are spoilt and stolen. I really need help from u guys to please help raise me up again, I have been fooled by love, but pls because of my innocent kid and mother, u guys pls make some contribution for me so I can start my business this January. I forgot to say, I went to his parents place but they said their son won't do such a thing and sent me away with their grandson. O boy, speak for yourself o. I was stubborn as a child and if not for the beatings I was given, only God knows what I would have turned into. Amongst all my late father's 15 children, I'm the one he beat the most. On at least 2 occasions sef, he locked me out of the house at night. I can't deny that I was stubborn sha. Other siblings can rarely give you multiple incidents of being beaten but me ehn, I will give you too many. My mom has 4 children and na me she beat pass. There was a day she even drove me out of the house in the night. I had to go sleep in our family friend's house that night. Those beatings helped to mould me into the calm responsible young man I am today. My friends are always complaining that I am calm and too gentle and I just look at them and shake my head. I just hope my children don't take that stubborn part of me when I start having them, make them no go give me high blood pressure.

I was young, probably about 7 years old and was very naive. I used to see adults smoke and was very inquisitive as a child. I also wondered what kind of magic produces smoke that adults puff out when they smoke cigarettes... One afternoon, I found a cigarette stub on the floor and I picked it up and was trying to smoke it and puff out just to see if smoke will come out but nothing happened. A young girl of about maybe 16 or even less who had come to buy eggs from my neighbor upstairs and had also bought cigarettes for her elder brother, saw me and asked if I wanted to smoke. I nodded and said yes. She took me to the corridor and lit a stick of cigarette for me and asked me to put it in my mouth and draw some in... As I tried it, I started coughing and choking. Our neighbor upstairs was seeing off a friend and he opened his door. That's how this girl ran away and left me alone to be choking. Neighbor caught me with cigarette and rushed to give me water and get me to be stable. Innocent me didn't bother running or hiding. I was just looking for help. They reported me to my mom. She kept the half lit cigarette and waited for my dad to come back from his trip. I had fun with my parents eating, dancing and all that, all through the weekend. When it was time for dad to travel on Sunday evening, mom called him to tell him she had something she wanted to show him. In her words, "your son has started smoking o". My dad(currently late) screamed: "what". He ordered me into his bedroom and flogged the living daylight out of me with wire. I was wearing a white pant with navy blue stripes... I was given a hell of a beating to the point that I couldn't walk after the beating. I crawled out from the bedroom... But that experience made me hate cigarettes. All through primary and secondary schools, my essay was always one topic "the day I will never forget" and it was this story I was always writing. Up till tomorrow, I can never forget it. I was given correct brain resetting to factory settings beating that day. I smoked Cuban cigar later on in life for a short while before I quit immediately again cos the memory of my childhood kept haunting me.

In the end, this nonsense of chasing records for number of views and streams does not validate any singer as the greatest -- which it seems this Davido crew are trying to force down our throats. The credit instead should go to his PR team, plus the surplus funds he has. They are good at the music business. Cos in the end, music too is business.

Before the advent of social media, streams, Youtube views et al., Music labels had to be super sure of the talent you had. That's why in the early 2000's, most singers you came across first, had to be somewhat good at music itself : eg. 2face, P Square, Faze Alone, Paul Play Dairo, Blacky, Eddy Remedies, Olu maintain, Eldee the Don, Sound Sultan etc.

Nowadays you'll see people like Naira Marley and Zlatan dominating the airwaves and you wonder if things are normal in this country.

How many people were able to stream music live 11 years ago as compared to today? You can't expect a hit song released 11 yrs ago when social media was still at its nascent stage, to have so much streams like a song released in this social media era. If those hit songs from way back were to be released today, they'd do crazy unbelievable numbers.

You see this hacking of a thing, someone did it to me and I never confronted her after discovering. I simply allowed her to be fooling herself and reading all my chats while I got a different line for my family members to be chatting with me on. Everyone I told about the hacking stuff told me to be careful about her. In her mind, she was being smart but unfortunately for her, it changed the dynamics of things. If a lady wants to check my phone, I have no problem allowing her to read through. But hacking me and monitoring everything that goes on in my life including my biz chats and family conversations, is totally unacceptable.
