Properties / Re: Can N30 Million Build A Business Complex? by chuksonu(m): 8:23am On May 07, 2020
Kingrexyl:
Lately I've been thinking of starting a business complex, 10 shops upstairs and 10 downstairs probably by January next year, so I want to ask if 30 million can do everything, including the roofing, tiles e.t.c, your advise will be appreciated.

Why don’t you invest in hotel industry?.
One of my good friends whom I assisted to settle down when she arrived abroad connected me to buy her dad’s property in a good location in Benin city. Her dad is old and a retired civil servant. They relocated him to Lagos where they have built houses and all of his children are abroad.

They want to sell the property so as not to have any issue in the future when the man joins his ancestors.

The property will be perfect to renovate and use for hotel.

It’s a two flats of four bedrooms with toilets, parking stores and parlours. The up can be reconstructed into rooms and can give you between 14 to 16 rooms.
Then downstairs can be reconstructed to habor a bar, kitchen, reception and few chalets for short time.

Why are you talking like a fool?.I don't like commenting but I just can't resist responding to your mumuness.

Do understand the meaning of constitution?.
Nigeria is really in serious trouble if her youths reasons this way.
Nigerians deserves the right to see a proof that their elected president possessed the prerequisite qualification to become their president.
The f9 certificate we saw before was discovered to be fake because he was a cap and eye glass wearing old Buhari. Not the Buhari that purportedly sat for Cambridge wasc in 1961.

Demmzy15:
Suicide bombing is prohibited in Islam, it's never justified, whoever indulges in it is going to hell.

Blowing oneself up is suicide, which is haraam (forbidden) because Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “And do not kill yourselves” [an-Nisa’ 4:29]. And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “ … “Whoever kills himself with a piece of iron will have that iron in his hand, thrusting it into his belly in the Fire of Hell for ever and ever.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5442; Muslim, 109.

Suicide is prohibited in Islam so whatever you wrote up is rubbish. Please show me one verse from the bible that prohibits suicide?! Just one!
Thou Shall NOT KILL.

This dullness has reached epic and disturbing proportions. The 11 roads you mentioned above all existed before 2006.

Ezenwammadu, I suppose you should be an educated and enlightened person that should know the meaning of the word 'NEW'?

Now I do not have full info on the current conditions of all the REPAIRED roads you mentioned but at least I know the condition of the following which concern me:
- GEJ did not start the East-West Rd and he did not finish it. The road is still a long way from being completed.
- GEJ did not start the Abuja-Lokoja Rd and he did not finish it. A large chunk of the road is yet to be completed.
- GEJ did not start the Onitsha-Owerri road project, 95% of that project was completed under OBJ, GEJ only completed about 5% of the job and commissioned it.

I do not understand how or why these roads are being mentioned as NEW roads, these are roads that all existed before I was born. Even in terms of repairing the roads, GEJ only did portions, he didn't start and he didnt finish the jobs. So how these roads are CONSTANTLY being mentioned as GEJ's sole achievements completely beats my imagination.

Politics / Scarcity Of Virgins In Life After For Suicide Bombers In The West. by chuksonu(m): 9:53am On Feb 28, 2015
Muslim suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike on Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement.

The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death would be cut by 25% this February from 72 to 54. A spokesman said increases in recent years in the number of suicide bombings has resulted in a shortage of virgins in the afterlife.

The suicide bombers' union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs ( B.O.O.M.) responded with a statement saying the move was unacceptable to its members and called for a strike vote. General Secretary Abdullah Amir told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We don't ask for much in return but to be treated like this is like a kick in the teeth".

Speaking from his shed in Tipton in the West Midlands, Al Qaeda chief executive Haisheet Mapants (!) explained, "I sympathize with our workers concerns but Al Qaeda is simply not in a position to meet their demands. They are simply not accepting the realities of modern-day Jihad in a competitive marketplace. Thanks to Western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the afterlife. It's a straight choice between reducing expenditures or laying people off. I don't like cutting benefits but I'd hate to have to tell 3,000 of my staff that they won't be able to blow themselves up."

Spokespersons for the union in the North East of England, Ireland, and the entire Australian continent stated that the change would not hurt their membership as there are so few virgins in their areas anyway.

According to some industry sources, the recent drop in the number of suicide bombings has been attributed to the emergence of Scottish singing star, Susan Boyle. Many Muslim Jihadists now know what a virgin looks like and have reconsidered their benefit packages.Their branch in northern Nigeria are however not bothered. They have argued that the living standard as well as working condition in the west has not always been the same with Nigeria.Insisting that they can even continue with less than 54 virgins per suicide bomber.Their spokesman Mr.Lai Muhammeed however told newsmen that the association executives will be holding meeting in coming days to proffer a solution to the scarcity of virgins in janna. The leader of the Nigerian branch is not named but he is 72 years old and a politician

Politics / Re: Picture Of A Senior Citizen Carrying An Enlarged Pic Of Buhari @ Lagos APC Rally by chuksonu(m): 6:39pm On Jan 30, 2015
Sir, let us examine your service records. I consider your generation a very privileged one, indeed. In 1975 at the age of 33, you were appointed the Military Governor of the North-Eastern State, present day Borno & Yobe states. In 1976 at the age of 34 you became the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources. In 1978 at the age of 36 you became the Chairman of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Today the reverse is the case. Most Nigerians at age of 35 are still unemployed and still living with parents. Many are still not married. During your time you were already Governor at this age. One major reason for this unfortunate turn of events is that many elders like you have refused to voluntarily handover the baton to the next generation. Life should be a relay race where one runs his race and hands over to the next. In Nigeria many elders like you have run their races and are still holding on tenaciously to the baton. But Sir, I have an important question here for you. The question is simple; MUST YOU SERVE NIGERIA AS A PRESIDENT ONLY? IS THERE NO OTHER CAPACITY YOU CAN SERVE US EXCEPT THE PRESIDENCY? It is very erroneous to imagine that you can only serve Nigeria only in one capacity. During the regime of late General Sani Abacha, you accepted the appointment to serve as the Chairman of the then Petroleum Trust Fund PTF. The general opinion was that you served faithfully in this capacity. Well done Sir! But you never asked Abacha to vacate office for you as your former subordinate in the army. Never! In fact that would have been a dangerous move, if not suicidal. Rather you served faithfully under your former junior in the army. Sir, imagine if you take on another job like the Chairman of EFCC or ICPC or NDLEA. Nigerians actually need you to serve in one of these capacities much more than they need you in the Presidency. Mere mentioning your name as Chairman of EFCC would drive many corrupt men underground. But you wouldn’t. Either the Presidency or nothing. When are you going to handover to the next person? It is either you do it voluntarily or risk disgrace at the polls. In 1983 at the age of 41, you became the Head of State. Most Nigerians in my age have not had the opportunity to serve, but we still remain committed to the Nigerian project. You should rather be graceful to God and to Nigerians for the numerous opportunities that have come your way to serve Nigerians. Others are begging for just one opportunity to serve. Sir, you have to accept the stark reality on ground that you have served your time already. That is life for you. You run the race, you handover the baton for others to run, you cannot hold on to the baton more than is necessary. As a former head of State you are already a member of the Council of State Meeting. You have every avenue to channel your views across. You don’t necessarily have to be in a front-line role, you can serve in an advisory capacity. That is still service. In conclusion, it is crystal clear that you cannot defeat President Jonathan in a free, fair and credible election, even in Katsina State. Sentiments aside, Jonathan would cruise to a landslide victory come February 14th, 2015. In fairness to you Sir, any of your Children would pose a serious challenge to Jonathan more than yourself. I do not see Nigerians electing a 72 year old former Head of state to lead us in this Digital era. With due respect to you Sir, you belong to the Analogue age and therefore, will not fit in as president in this digital era. Go and arrest Buhari before my husband – Asari Dokubo’s wife replies Danjuma This is the blunt truth. Please do not enter the Guinness book of world records on a negative note. Losing four consecutive Presidential elections would not augur well for your reputation. It is in your best interest to assume your position as an elder statesman and allow others to serve. Nigeria does not belong to you alone. It belongs to us all.{Copied}.

also need to mention Atiku Abubakar? Or
Rotimi Ameachi who was a PDP Speaker of
Rivers state Assembly for 8 Years then
Governor for 7 years? The list goes on and
on. If PDP wasted and stole our time and
resources for the past 16 years, my dearest
citizens, the names listed above and many
more are part of these bunch of criminals
who stole and wasted these our resources.
They were and are part of the people who
lied and lie to us. My people, YES! We want
change, but if I am a thief in Agbada, would
wearing a Nnyika make me not to be a
thief? Would I stop being a thief because I
changed gang? Some of us will always
argue that the states controlled by these
thieves are better than the others, but let
me ask: Did Ameachi do all he did for Rivers
in the past 1 year that he became a member
of the APC? Was it last year that APC was
formed that the transformations in KANO
took place or began? Was it APC's
Government that did the stuffs in IMO?
Dearest Citizens, for 16 years we have been
under the PDP's Umbrella. Yes, but which
person in this APC has not been in the
corridor or close to the corridor of power in
these past 16 years? We revolved &
continue to revolve around the same group
of people since Independence yet we seem
to be comfortable with it. If they're saints as
they claim, we wouldnt be where we are
today. Do I need to start mentioning their
names and portfolios? If I cant mention all,
at least I know for a fact that as far back as
1982, Audu Ogbe was not only a speaker of
his state assembly, he also was a Minister in
Nigeria. Infact, he held two ministerial
positions. I also know without doubt that
Gen Buhari apart from being a PTF
Chairman, rose to become the Head of State
as far as 1983. Very recently, Atiku Abubakar
was an 8 years Vice President. I cant believe
that at 72 someone who was Head of State
at 41 wants to be president again. I cant
also come to term with myself whenever I
read that Gen Yakubu Gowon was about 23
years old when he became Nigeria’s Head of
State. How many 33 years old can be ward
councilors today? My dearest citizens of the
Republic, do we continue rotating our
leaders and expect to move forward? Do we
expect to be in 2015 and have someone
who ruled us decades ago rule us? As a
child, I heard of Shehu Musa Yar'dua. As a
young man, I had Umaru Musa Yar'dua rule
me as president. When do I see a 31 years
old be governors or senator or even
ministers? Dearests, Gen Martin Luther
Agwai, the former Chief of Army Staff is now
the Chairman of SURE-P. David Mark, former
governor of 2 different states is today our
Senate President. Tomorrow, if PDP no
longer favours him, he will join forces with
APC or which ever party there is. We are
where we are today because our fathers
failed in their responsibilities to plan for
us. Are we going to let our children suffer
what we suffer by allowing these people
rotate offices among themselves? Whether
we like it or not, Buhari as a former
president receives a Pension of 22.7 million.
Whether you like it or not, when Jonathan
completes his tenure, he will also receive his
millions as pension and the cycle will
continue. One thing is sure, if Jonathan
retains his presidency next year, he will not
employ me in his government. One thing is
also sure, if Buhari wins, he will not employ
you in his government. Who will they then
employ? Of course, they will employ the
same old crooks to help them out. This is
not Change, APC is not change. When we see
change, we go know! God Bless
Nigeria.
Umu nne m! APC is never the change we need now.
Please let's be very careful.

who stole and wasted these our resources.
They were and are part of the people who
lied and lie to us. My people, YES! We want
change, but if I am a thief in Agbada, would
wearing a Nnyika make me not to be a
thief? Would I stop being a thief because I
changed gang? Some of us will always
argue that the states controlled by these
thieves are better than the others, but let
me ask: Did Ameachi do all he did for Rivers
in the past 1 year that he became a member
of the APC? Was it last year that APC was
formed that the transformations in KANO
took place or began? Was it APC's
Government that did the stuffs in IMO?
Dearest Citizens, for 16 years we have been
under the PDP's Umbrella. Yes, but which
person in this APC has not been in the
corridor or close to the corridor of power in
these past 16 years? We revolved &
continue to revolve around the same group
of people since Independence yet we seem
to be comfortable with it. If they're saints as
they claim, we wouldnt be where we are
today. Do I need to start mentioning their
names and portfolios? If I cant mention all,
at least I know for a fact that as far back as
1982, Audu Ogbe was not only a speaker of
his state assembly, he also was a Minister in
Nigeria. Infact, he held two ministerial
positions. I also know without doubt that
Gen Buhari apart from being a PTF
Chairman, rose to become the Head of State
as far as 1983. Very recently, Atiku Abubakar
was an 8 years Vice President. I cant believe
that at 72 someone who was Head of State
at 41 wants to be president again. I cant
also come to term with myself whenever I
read that Gen Yakubu Gowon was about 23
years old when he became Nigeria’s Head of
State. How many 33 years old can be ward
councilors today? My dearest citizens of the
Republic, do we continue rotating our
leaders and expect to move forward? Do we
expect to be in 2015 and have someone
who ruled us decades ago rule us? As a
child, I heard of Shehu Musa Yar'dua. As a
young man, I had Umaru Musa Yar'dua rule
me as president. When do I see a 31 years
old be governors or senator or even
ministers? Dearests, Gen Martin Luther
Agwai, the former Chief of Army Staff is now
the Chairman of SURE-P. David Mark, former
governor of 2 different states is today our
Senate President. Tomorrow, if PDP no
longer favours him, he will join forces with
APC or which ever party there is. We are
where we are today because our fathers
failed in their responsibilities to plan for
us. Are we going to let our children suffer
what we suffer by allowing these people
rotate offices among themselves? Whether
we like it or not, Buhari as a former
president receives a Pension of 22.7 million.
Whether you like it or not, when Jonathan
completes his tenure, he will also receive his
millions as pension and the cycle will
continue. One thing is sure, if Jonathan
retains his presidency next year, he will not
employ me in his government. One thing is
also sure, if Buhari wins, he will not employ
you in his government. Who will they then
employ? Of course, they will employ the
same old crooks to help them out. This is
not Change, APC is not change. When we see
change, we go know! God Bless
Nigeria.
Umu nne m! APC is never the change we need now.
Please let's be very careful.
Happy weekend all!

Romance / Re: Tired Of This Relationship by chuksonu(m): 7:56pm On Jan 10, 2014
Nairaland is actually causing more troubles in relationships than helping it.Whenever a rairalander has a small issue with his\her lover the next thing they think of is Nairaland.Instead of thinking of how to solve the problem. Please there is no relationship without mis understanding.
ax2xb: Not to bore you all with long talk ;

Met her in late-2011 and we broke up late-2012. We made up around Feb 2013 and I got boxed up quite well. Bought a car for myself; and bought one for her around Sept 2013 . .

But her attitude is pissing me off. I always try to live on a budget; and she doesn't. She's the big-spender type of grl and I have always told her it's good to save for the rainy days. All na wash!!! She nor dey gree hear.

What pisses me is that this lady is actually 29. How can a 29-year old not know how to manage finances?

We had a quarrel last three weeks and she drove home, and ever since has not called me or even pinged or sent a message.
She's actually waiting for me to say I'm sorry (for a crime i didn't commit; she's wrong not me). Ive done that before, always saying sorry and pampering her even when I am right. But no more!! I refuse to do so again. Right now, she uploads pics of her jugs on Facebook and BBM;
What the heck is she doing? Trying to find another man? I have totally lost it.

How can you not even call me? To know even if Im alive or dead after 3weeks . . instead you're busy changing DPs on BBM
Well, I've decided to move on, but i can forfeit all i've spent and invested . . But I no fit leave the car? I only gave her the copies.
The originals are in my name, so I want it back. I can actually leave it for her, but i don't want anyone pointing at me to her friends,
calling me the greatest mugu of all time . . .

What do you think?

Religion / Re: Nairaland Christian Singles Thread (no Holds Barred) by chuksonu(m): 11:27pm On Oct 01, 2012
I am 37yrs old and single.Lots of issues are responsible for this.Anyway it's difficult somehow for me to get a real wife now that my story has changed. This is because I don,t reside in Nigeria and don,t believe in arranged marriage.I visits Nig at least twice in a year and any girl I come across now is always interested in marriage and I hate being pushed.tot it was better for a man to woo a lady for marriage instead of the other way round.I am planing to come home early next year to settle down so that I will be able to know who is real.Putting God first,I hope I will find my wifey soon as I believe she is somewhere right now.
toba: welcome.

lm moved by the need for there to be a discussion forum for christian singles on nairaland where issues bothering on dating, courting, singleness, heartbreaks, divorce, about to wed etc would be discussed, with people sharing their experiences of what they've passed through in the past, what they're going through presently and what they hope to go through/never want to go through in the future as regards relationships.

we are also free to list what we are looking out for in a would be life partner. i.e qualities and characters, when you hope to settledown.

one issue i also lok out for discussion is influence of parents, family members, religious leaders advice, friends opinion etc regarding choosing a partner.

lastly seeking GOD's opinion on marital matters.

the married can also come in to share their experiences in terms of challenges prior to and after the wedding.

hoping for a great discussion
