You might be referring to the court marriage which the tradition supersides. In Africa you cannot take someone daughter to the court/church without paying the bride price unless agreed with the brides parents/family.

@gucciplay, first, its not in Nigerian property law that on eshould get any free month stay after paying for one year. Get a good property lawyer for advice. And also check what your agreement states.

if their rent expired and they are asking for quit notice, first ask them if they are not interested in staying in the property again and if they all say yes, then issue them quit notice through a lawyer and make sure it is registered in the courts. And make sure you attach their individual signed copies of agreement to the courts.

Do not give any free month stay. If you do today, tomorrow they will ask for 6 months free and it will continue that way. If they don't want to stay let them go. Better bear the loss of lawyer fees + 6 months notice than them controlling you on what is not feasible.

Do not quarrel with them but be friendly in doing the above. Even if they stay more than the 6 months quit notice, the court will ensure they pay for it.

The argument that the govt is gunning for Saraki does not prove there was no forgery. The senate standing rule section 110 was not met before the new amendment. This is a clear cut case of forgery and efforts should be made immediately to punish the culprits. Nobody is above the law. This should be a teaching moment for all the senators.

I don't do politics and do believe that yes politicians are thiefs and I believe non of them are saints. So we should not all fight for them but the way the executive and the judiciary is going about things in this country will not move Nigeria forward.

Let me just share this to help you, if you do more than 5 transactions from any bank in the US, you will incur charges for subsequent transactions.

In Canada, Most of the banks have the 1st 10 transactions as free, subsequent one will incur charges.

At least, this are the one I know. So clearly, it is not only in Nigeria that customers pay for bank transactions.

To prevent this charges, most people use their Credit Cards and then use one transaction from their bank account to pay it off.

No one is complaining of bank charges. what we are saying is the N50 charge for stamp duty is not OK. this is different from the normal bank charges that you incurs during transactions.

where does the bank charge money goes to in the us? is it the bank purse or the government purse.

please let's not always use the wrong comparisons just because we want to defend someone/something.
