kayabd: Nairalanders!!! please read till the end and contribute. I have a girlfriend whom I met while in school and we are in love with each other. I'm the shy type when it comes to having sex because I've never had one before. so before we start having sex, I demanded we know each others status which she fully obliged to. we did the test in a medical laboratory and we were both negative as this has given us assurance. After making love with each other twice, a month after I started feeling weird moving from one symptoms to another. so I googled my symptoms and Google suggested HIV. I told myself it can't be true cos I have just one partner. I informed her about my condition and asked if she feels the same way but 'no' is the answer. After few weeks I started feeling better. Three months after, the earlier symptoms started reoccurring. so this time I forced and pleaded with her to go for the test in a government hospital of which she did confidently and the result still remain negative. After d last test she has done three test again in three months and the result still remain negative. I dd mine too and it was negative. what is baffling me is that while I keep experiencing this symptoms, she never experienced any of them. And while I'm at my lows worried about my health, she is at her high going on with her business and daily activities. A lot of questions begging for answers keeps popping in my head. Is knowing each others status isn't enough? My Bros, go to the hospital for you condition to be properly diagnosed. HIV is not the only disease out there. |

Mihzwhitesutana: Please I am worried about a small lump in my breast. It's in the lower part. I started noticing it around January this year. It is not painful when I touch it but it's there. Please What can I use to make it go away There's this general wrong belief among Nigerians that a painful lump is cancerous, while a painless one is non-cancerous. That's very very wrong, and has misled a lot of people into not seeking for intervention early. Breast cancer is NOT painful except at the advanced stage when it has already involved the skin. Breast lumps that are painful are usually not cancerous(eg breast abscess, infected or tensed cyst) Do not be misled by the absence of pain, as that is normal for cancerous lumps. Seek early medical attention to ascertain the nature of the lump |

You've been noticing a lump on your breast since January and you didn't mention that you've visited at least a doctor. You were expecting the lump to go on its own, right? Despite the education and information about lumps on breast being shared to you females every time, you still think it's not yet time for serious medical attention.
Well... My advice is that you should see a doctor any moment from now in case you haven't. Then you can come back here for solution after the diagnosis.
Nothing Beats Sound Health! Good response, but remember there's an idiot in this health section that's advertising to them that breast lump is not a disease and that stopping the use of bras can cure it. Nigeria is a strange place. |

IdowuRufai: You guys are very funny, even if I’m an investor with MBA, I find some comments very unnecessary. If you go to a bank to withdraw your money, if the answer isn’t satisfactory because there are some issues, it means some things are not right. MBA is paying ROI, that’s good but then, the investors are the life blood of the company, what we the investors should do is to make sure they improve on their services, how will you call a company’s support line and no one answers, does that Show seriousness, if you claim to have an online presence and a world class company then act like one. For the singular fact that you receive ROI from your Investment does not mean you should support irregularities, will your answer be the same if you call MTN support from time to time and no one takes the call? If we want MBA to be here for longer, then collectively we must push for them to improve their services, no one should say, visit their offices, that’s lame. I can buy stocks in America without going to America. Let’s stop standing for mediocrity because of the small ROI you get, truth is if you look the other way, you maybe be doing more harm than the good you intend.
Finally, anyone who wants to invest in MBA should invest with the money you can afford to loose, there is no gain saying in being too optimistic, we have had tons of businesses like this in the past, that’s the reason I prefer investors seek for improvement in processes, transparency and not shout down on people who complain.
On a side note, do you know a few people can close down MBA, it just takes some petitions to the appropriate quarter and some people taking it up, when it comes to finance, you don’t have to give excuses with with peoples’ fund.
Do have a good day! Are you the author of Encyclopedia Britannica and Americana?? |

Let's join hands and fight drug abuse. Stupid question! Didn't you see where he wrote "bought the drug yesterday"? Do Nigerians visit hospitals for prescription before rushing to buy them from pharmacy shops? You guys are always on the lookout for doctors' errors, but you're the ones killing yourselves. Meanwhile, Diclofenac is not banned anywhere. That's the kind of confusing information one gets when he chooses to become his own doctor without the necessary qualifications. He said he wants to try herbs but av told him my hands nd my leg no dey o... b4 d case will be critical. Every wound takes time to heal. But if he wants it faster and has the money for it, he can opt for the procedure I mentioned above. There's no herbs that make wounds heal faster. What delays healing in anal fissures is the spasm of the anal sphincter, which reduces the blood supply to the injured area. The procedure will relieve the spasm and allows the tear heal faster. |

mhiztalee: Someone should help me oooo This is Anal fissure, which is a tear, usually in the posterior part of your anus. When a doctor examines you by parting your buttocks, he should be able to see the tear in there. The treatment will then depend on whether it's acute(recent) or chronic (longstanding). Acute ones may heal with simple measures and dietary changes. Chronic or recurrent ones will usually not be able to heal on their own, and will require a simple surgical procedure for healing. Visit a hospital to see a surgeon. |

He has been doing sit bath for a week now with no improvement, been to the hospital too and still no improvement..... Please doctor's what can he do?.... is there an alternative way. Good that you got the diagnosis right. Many would called anything down there pile. Anal fissure is a tear in the anal canal, usually in the posterior part, caused by passage of hard stools, and again made worse by continued passage of hard stools. How long has it been? If it's acute, conservative measures can help it heal. But if it's chronic or has been recurrent with failed medical measures, then a simple surgical procedure will be the next line of action to sort it out. It's a usually a daycase procedure, as the patient goes home thereafter |

Health › Re: Doctors And Pharmacists Come Lets Talk About This Now by ChybuzzDD(m): 9:17am On Jul 02, 2020 |
flyingpig: Synergy means combined action.
See I once saw where in a American pharmacy, an old man walked in and before he got attendee to by the Pharmacist, his health records were assessed for proper evaluation of his medical records. Such things can be very vital to prevent allergies or understand the best approach for treating the patient or administering drugs to him.
Synergy between the physicians and pharmacists means that the latter can be able to assess the patient health records prior to administering him or her the prescribed drugs. You should be in the know that pharmacists require medical records of a patient in order to be most informed before cancelling a prescription, re-writting or even sending the patient back to the Doctor. If the pharmacist was able to access the patient's medical records, it only means the patient had previously been in the hospital, unlike in Nigeria where the pharmacy shop is usually the first point of call. Again, medical records are confidential, and I strongly doubt that a pharmacist could have accessed it from his shop simply by logging into a computer. He might have contacted the hospital without you knowing the full details of the processes taken. Finally, even if that really happened, it was made easy by the fact both the patient and pharmacist acted responsibly. The American patient knew his medical condition, and was able to inform the pharmacist, who equally knew that medical history is important in drug prescription. The story is different in Nigeria where patients do not know or care about their diagnosis, and respond swiftly with "God forbid" or "it's not my portion" even when told. I've noticed that each time I meet an Indian patient, he'll usually use the initial 2-3 minutes to give full details of his medical condition, demonstrating full knowledge of his problem. That's a totally different thing in Nigeria, where you'll even look like an enemy when you tell a patient about his diagnosis. The problem of the healthcare system in Nigeria is very complex, and the blame runs from the individuals/patients to the government. |

Westniggur: Afrohits HEALTH HEALTHNews The ‘Care’ part of healthcare in Nigeria’s Healthcare system is missing. June 13, 2020072
Just so you know and understand that I did not just come up with this conclusion, I did my research. Let me start by saying some few things;
Patients go to the hospital when it is practically too late. Most times, they go to the hospital when their health conditions have reached a point of no return. At this point, there is nothing the healthcare professional/facility can actually do for them than to manage their present health condition until God finally calls them home.
This actually means that, there are some illnesses that are actually present in our bodies that we don’t know about and for us to help ourselves, we need to undergo certain tests and checkups. The liver for example is the largest internal organ in the body and it can still be functioning even after 70% of it function is gone. Until when it gets to 80% sometimes before the patient will start experiencing signs and symptoms of Liver failure. What am trying to say here is that, there should be a system to constantly remind individuals on the importance of comprehensive medical checkups which is very important.
Now, Money is actually a limiting factor to some individuals but I got to understand that with constant counseling on the importance of the medical checkups most patients source the money to do this tests. This comprehensive medical tests are many but individuals can undergo them base on their financial capabilities and can even go as low as doing this tests one after the other.
I was in a pharmacy one day, when a young boy came complaining of mild headache and tiredness. He was given a drug to take and few hours later, the boy was rushed back to the pharmacy with some things on his body like skin eruptions. The pharmacist said he was suffering from hypersensitivity reaction. I was made to understand that the child has inherited the problem from his parents but my question was that, is there no way the medical facility will have that information saved somewhere in order to prevent the occurrence of such in the first place? and also a means in which other healthcare facilities could also have access to that information about the boy so that whenever he goes other healthcare centers, he won’t have to worry about anything anymore. If there was a system to have all our records in check, I am very sure what happened to that boy would not have happened
Continue Reading: https://afrohits.com.ng/the-care-part-of-healthcare-in-nigerias-healthcare-system-is-missing/ Concerning your last paragraph, even if the child already has a well documented file in the hospital, wouldn't he have still developed the same problem by going to the pharmacy to buy drugs? Were the parents, knowing fully his history of reaction to drugs, supposed to take him to the pharmacy instead of the hospital? Are pharmacist meant to have patients' records in their shops? There's parental irresponsibility in this case, and that happens every day in Nigeria. That child has no business in the pharmacy whenever he's sick. The normal thing would be to take him to the same hospital that has his records or any other hospital that will be able to access his past medication information from the previous hospital or from the parents, whenever he's sick. |

flyingpig: There is no synergy in health sector in Nigeria What has synergy got to do with delayed hospital presentations and people's poor health-seeking behaviour in Nigeria? I don't know of any country where people are reminded to go to the hospitals early in the course of their illness or for regular health checks. People develop that naturally as a result of the values they place on their lives. In the middle east where I work, people come to the hospitals immediately at the first sign of any abnormality in their health, and visit regularly for routine checks, even when they're not sick. In Nigeria, nothing, including life, is valued, and such health-seeking behaviour is completely absent. I know poverty and the absence of a functional health insurance are contributing, but at the individual level, we need serious re-orientation and improvements. We mustn't always blame others(individuals, institutions, organisations, governments, etc) for our problems. |

bolaayenimo: Is COVID-19 the disease for the Nigerian rich and powerful alone? It appears poor Nigerians have immunity against it. It's not true. The main issue is that the average Nigerian is not being tested. And even when they have clear symptoms of the virus, their usual "God forbid" or "it's not my portion" mentality doesn't allow them present themselves for test. It's a different case with the rich ones. A simple call will bring the NCDC officials to their houses. Ask yourself why a rich man mostly holed up in his room would have it, while a poor Nigerian who's always on the street struggling won't have it, considering that the predominant mode of spread is via the airway? |

abuabdullah: Loan is always a bad thing. Please, dont take loan. However, if you are compelled to take it, ask yourself why you need the money. Is it for revenue generation or spending on material things? Can you fulfil your monthly obligation without your monthly income? I think this belief about loans is only predominant in Nigeria. All over the world, people go for loans when they need them. The most important thing is what the money is to be used for. There's nothing wrong with taking loans, as long as it's properly invested or solves a problem. |
