No it didn't. Thank God for that. I was unaware of its spitting prowess and would have otherwise been unprepared for it had it happened.

For those saying the compound is too dirty, I'd like you guys to point out what's dirty about it. The green plants seen in the compound are corn and vegetables planted. The wood seen there is firewood used to boil water extracted from grated coconut. We produce coconut oil. The substance on the aluminium sheet next to where the snakes were are remnants of grated coconut after the water has been extracted. The chickens eat them.
As for the next compound, you don't expect us to go and be cutting bushes on another man's land now, do you?

We got some local chickens roaming about in our compound.

Yesterday morning, we woke up to find that one of the hens which was incubating some eggs was squatting somewhere else and did not attempt to move when we go near it.

Also, the eggs which were eight in number the previous day had reduced by 3. We concluded that a snake must have attacked the hen and swallowed the eggs.

The eggs were laid in a place which has wood and some bags packed beside. We started removing the items there one after the other and the first snake, the python was sighted.

It was snuffed out using petrol and killed using an iron pipe.

Feeling that the snakes could be more than one, we started searching for another and found it almost immediately. The black one wanted to escape through a place which we had earlier covered using a piece of aluminium roofing sheet. While the snake was just next to a wall, my dad held it to the wall using a longer iron pipe while I hit its head using a shorter iron pipe.

P.S. We don't eat snakes for those that'll ask for pictures of soup/stew cooked with them.

The black snake with red coloration on the neck are is the highly aggressive spitting cobra, which can spew acid with precise accuracy into the eyes of a person standing up to 10 feet away. I generally shoot those on sight, when our paths cross while I am hunting in the bush.

You cannot run a php file using the 'file' protocol. In other words, your address bar should contain something like http://localhost/my_hobby_app/index.php

The address in your browser indicates that the folder containing the index.php file contains spaces in its name. I suggest you remove the spaces.

From my understanding of your code, when the page loads, the countries select input is populated with a list of countries. Assuming all the php code is in one file, the part where you are trying to get the States for a country will result in an error because $_POST['country-id'] will not have a value (loading the page the first time is done using the http GET method).
Now since you want to load the states in a selected country asynchronously via AJAX when a country is selected, you need to pass the fill the url parameter of ajax which tells Ajax which php file to call.
From the code you provided, it is unclear what the error you are trying to fix is.

I have a savings account with First bank and just recently, i got charged an account maintenance fee, which I know is only applicable to current accounts.

I got in contact with them and was told that the fee is charged on savings accounts that record a high volume of transactions monthly.

I am aware that the common thing obtainable with savings accounts in banks is that if you withdraw more than a certain number of times in a month, the interest will not be paid on the account for that month.

So it's not just enough that the interest on the account is not paid anymore, I am now being charged even further?

I have to write about something that is becoming annoying. It involves moving unsubstantiated information to the front page. When I see topics appear on the front page, I expect them to be valid. People can easily be misled when such invalid things are brought to the attention of many.

A plant with such level of toxicity would not be found easily, talkless of being used as decoration. My first instinct when I read the post was to confirm how true it was, which a simple Google search revealed to be false. I would thus expect that the moderators or supermoderators would think about validating such facts before moving to front page.

Please help reduce the misleading of people.

You raised valuable points, however these points are what everyone of us already knows. A road map towards implementing the points raised however will be more valuable. 'Saying' as they say is easier than 'doing'.

The writers probably didn't look at the sire thing from that angle and probably only focused on the feeding of blood and dying process of being made a vampire.

The normal way to disembark at your stop is to watch out for the name on a flashing dashboard by the driver and then pull on a chord in the center of the bus located overhead.
