GeneralShepherd:Lolllllll! Don't mind him. He's doing all these so that people can visit his blog. The blessings of GOD maketh riches and added no sorrow. God will bless whom HE wants to bless. Everyday CV Wizard rubbish. |
--Your salutation doesn't show that you respect your reader. e.g Dear Sir, or Dear Ma, ---Make your cover letter attract your reader to call you for an interview by using a good closing remarks which most of our friends here have disclosed to you here. --Let your reader know that you attached your CV. --Above All, ensure that your cover letter talks about the required skills and experiences that matches the job role you are applying for. This should be the watchword. Thanks for enabling me to contribute. Thumb up ABAGAL. #OneLove |
kayce911: agabaI23:Hello kaycee, I'm quoting Abagal's post to make my contribution BECAUSE his post sounds more meaningful to me. Had it been you had responded to his post, I am very sure he would have given you the right counselling to your request. My observations regarding your cover letter are thus; -It sounds like you are submitting an unsolicited application for the role of a front desk and WON'T earn you an interview invite because it shows you're not confident about the role you're actually applying for. -Make your CL straight to the point, DON'T talk about how you knew about the vacancy. -The CL is not too lengthy. It's okay BUT the paragraphs are talking about the samething. Each paragraph SHOULD have a subject matter. my phone can't type much. Please Continue reading from the next page. |
abeyluve:Supply chain is also related to marketing because most of your duties will be in the field. Check out their team for someone who plays the role and you will get to know what I'm talking about. |
dadaic:YES! you're very correct. ICSL are not professional. So many candidates have done their test and documentation since 2012, yet have not got the said job they keep posting here. Infact, I am one of them, I have done my documentation since last year June, 2013. They have not given me the job they professed they have. They collect candidates' profiles through their stupid portal & social medias so as to make records for their selfish interest and also asks candidates to like their facebook page. What even pains me most, was the way they screens candidates' credentials as if the candidate came to beg for bread. After they will force people to do their documentation within 72hours, after that, you will be on a long thing. #UselessPeople |
muh4lyf:I think you're very correct. I like your comment. He(OP) can also do a kind of free job/volunteer him/herself for personal evangelism, spokesman or woman, fellowship leader, class rep or assistant, CLO, departmental president, DOS etc. This will not only boost your confidence BUT will boost your oral communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills and boost your CV/chances of being hired. Hope this helps? @OP |
amosisinsin:Lol.........I can't stop laughing. Are you really serious or joking? Maybe it's should be used if your are interviewed on bodyguard role, I guess. #LaffingContinues |
bbokuns:I'm not against the qualification you mentioned but I'm very sure you're kidding, because if you're not, that means you are brainless. Interested person should send 'His/Her CVs' Yet you needed females only. #YouMadeMyDay |
Jobpostboard:I guess, there is something fishy here......That is why you keep refreshing this trend. #WayoBlogger |

Oga, for the past four months now you have been posting this job here. Does it mean that you guys have not still got just four candidates that live around your locations to occupy the little slots you have? You guys are not serious! very soon moderators will start to deleting most of your topics because your activities here is unprofessional. |
Obasgilbert:Thanks. Please kindly paste the full message you received here. what qualification did you apply with? Success! |
AMAgod:Akwa Ibom ke? Ha! that is a far distance. Are you presently in Akwa Ibom? How did you apply and qualification? |
@Amosinsi,Hello, I can't believe you joor! 'na so u fine rish?' Even since I have been attending interviews,I have never experienced such question before. My first interview after my NYSC last year was with GTB, 'wey I dey claim sey I be pro I com fail', there was this pretty girl(infact any man that sees her must succumb if time is not taken), she can communicate very perfectly, but after her interview,I asked her, how far? she said the man didn't even start with the normal question "may we meet you?" but just looked at her CV and asked her about are career objectives. The girl said that she was dumbfounded that the man(interviewer) gave her the CV and asked her to read her CO out from the CV. After she finished reading, the man told her that we will get back to you and that was the end. We both failed! Interview is not by your good grade in school. If you can't defend CV, 'u don fail be dat o', irrespective of your grade. I think if someone is going for an interview, he/she should know everything in the CV. |
Op, we usually hear all these tips here. It's not new to us except the number one and two tips that says,"we shouldn't send our CVs with blackberry phones". I personally won't agree to that because, most of the invites I got coupled with the one that earned me my current job,I sent my CVs using my phones (different types of phone for that matter) infact, the name I used to open the email which I used to sending my CVs to one engineering company at Lekki(Name withheld)wasn't professional But they called me twice which I didn't attend the interview because it's not worth it due to distance, also I applied with a lower qualification instead of a higher qualification so as to have a big pay lol. I'm not even an engineer by discipline. I'm not saying this to encourage jobseekers to use unprofessional names to open an email to applying for jobs but to let you know that it doesn't count much. I feel if your CV is a match to what a recruiting firm is scouting for, they will surely call you. Anyways, thanks for the tips! |
Oooop, I'm sorry to say that you lack "WORK ETIQUETTE". You're not even quiet than I am, yet I had serious issues with one of my co-workers and it was solved between us whereby, our boss didn't even hear about it. Findout what constitutes work etiquette before you land a new. It will help you to know how to handle such situation when it arises. Okay? Anyways, God will provide another job for you. #IAmSigningOutNow |
honjohnbright:'Guy, ur cova leta mak me laff so te i com 4get my name' I totally agree to what the guy said, 'ova sabi dey kill monkey'. Guy frankly speaking, if this is actually what you used to submit as a cover letter, 'OYO LOWA O'(You're on your own). Your cover letter is okay But it's filled with errors. You're too confident while writing that is why you made mistakes. Re-write it in simple english and it's not mandatory to use big vocab. Hope this helps? |
dhope:No, Some banks still accepts age 34 below if you're applying for experienced job. FCMB, First Bank do and Diamond bank. These are the few banks I know. Infact I have a friend who currently works with FCMB as a DSA, he is 32years and he is doing well. |
ATM2:Your age is NOT a barrier, you can still get a bank job BUT it's going to be marketing and not otherwise. Since you had experience with a bank as a marketer, is a plus for you. So, you can apply for an experienced hire in a bank and I bet you, they will call you and the pay is usually #40k/month +commission. Sterling bank application have just ended. You can send your CV to, hrcustomerservice@firstcitygroup.com or fcmbsa@firstcitygroup.com N.B. Make sure you can speak atleast two nigerian languages fluently o. Goodluck on your chosen career! |
busuyem:I think you're very correct. I have just confirmed from my friend who got the first email to update his profile and he said he didn't get this present email(NEWS LETTERS). Also, you guy should stop talking about the age thing. My friend had HND in Marketing, UPPER. He is between the ages of 29-32 and he got the first invite. Maybe, they invited people based on their course of study. So, what does it tells us? It's marketing. Goodluck! |
Paroman:@dtbabe & paroman, Then who asked you guys to talk? Mumu! |

Sorry for not writing the name. The name of the company is, Progress Sea Food Limited. Painted in Blue colour. Goodluck! |
