geobukky:I am also facing samething now, but the only advantage I have is, I can attend subsequent job interviews. |
Habisoye:Congratulations!!! My advise to you is to take the offer BUT Put the below disadvantages into consideration: 1.Extra care has to be in consideration while discharging your duties as a Teller because there will be serious pressure which might cause you to overpay clients or even make mistakes. You will pay severely for any loss. 2.You would not have time to jobhunt and attend other lucrative interviews again. 3. No career progression. 4. You would be given higher responsibility and be slave to full staff because you are a contract staff while the full staffs will be there doing nothing. 5. Most cases, you would be required to go office on Saturday because you did not finish your work on Friday. Goodluck. |
Icecream4U:Owning a professional qualification is good BUT it is not a yardstick to getting a good job. OND graduate can get a job at chevron, shell etc it is all about God' s grace, your thinking and how well you press your button. PHD graduates applied for dangote truck driver trainee yet did not get the job. @Op congratulations joor!!! |
singlefade25:How far? Long time. |
Justosaus:If I'm not serious I wouldn't be here now. I can't apply for a job that pays less than six digits + other benefits+permanent placement. Also, I can't allow myself to be outsourced again because you will be used to make serious money, no promotion and they will dump you. I guess you're new in the job market or desperate if not you would have asked same question too. Moreso, note that when you're working with an organization, you have indirectly become the owner because the success of the firm is in your hands. From my findings, they are into outsourcing. Goodluck as you apply. |
Goovo:How much will your coy pay? Is it up to #100k+? Is it a permanent placement? |
Notion:Please, that is NOT true. when I was in school, I usually think that if you dont make upper crredit or distinction it will be hard to get good job. I have come to realize that your ability, smartness, potentials, skills is what counts when it comes to jobhunting. Most of the successful people in the world today, had poor result. infact, I had HND lower credit, as I speak to you now, I am working with a bank with good pay. My deptl presido, came out with distinction, but he is still looking for job. Though, passing out in good grades are good BUT its not a ticket to successful or getting a good job. #GoodMorning |
hardeyswaggz:Sorry about that. Just Keep moving jari. I don't really think it's 2.2 because, I made 2.2 and I have not got any mail from them. Though, I am currently working with a Bank sha, maybe they need experience folks. Just saying though.... I applied on the 3rd day of the advert, I spent more than 10 minutes during application and got confirmation that they would get back at me by June 11, 2015. So I am surprised to hear people say that they got a regret mail because I expected everything regarding success or regret mail to start by June 11, 2015. BTW, when did you apply? Hope you uploaded your CV? Hope you filled all your work experiences? |
@Chukky86 I had similar experience. After my NYSC in July,2012. Everybody turned against me. I am the first issue. I did bus conductor to get money for my SSCE. I lost my dad since 1994. I searched for any job, even SSCE job, all to no avail. After six months, I used the money I saved during my NYSC to set up a very small business. The business began to dwindling b'cos I usually gatecrash job Test/interviews from the business, collected my pending original certificates, I had so many competitors etc. 'Omo, if u see me then I no be like pesin wey go skul atall because of frustration' In Oct.,2014, I decided to learn how to repair generator just to bring my business back to life but the boss told me its #30k for 1month. 'wia I won see #30k unless I close my business'. As I was planning to enrol for the traning, I received a job invite in Nov, 2014, and I am working now. So, guy(CHUKKY 86) you can do absolutely anything to survive, I dont mean bad things, but genuine labour coupled with prayers. Also, think big! |
FX:Kindly try U-CONNECT they are most reliable. Thank me later. |
eduresearch:Guy, stop pretending as if you don't know its real. If you need a job, just go otherwise ignore. Thank you. |
youngwolf:Dear youngwolf, I had series of regret mails too like you did. eg, Stanbic IBTC at the interview stage, GTB twice at the interview stage, EntBank & UACN at the test stage. But I am working already. You are also working already except you are not okay with where you work now then read below: To pass a test requires GOD's grace because the time frame is usually short. Also, time yourself when writing tests, this will help. Best Regards, |
Dear Friends, I thank you all for taking out time to read my write-ups. Also I am urging us not to criticize but to share our experience(s) if we have had similar one. Best Regards, |
scarplanet:Dear Scarplanet, I thank you for your response. I thought likewise too that, it was by God's grace and favour that I got the job and not by my power. I can recall that, the panelist laughed when I gave an answer to this question i.e. "what values will you add to our bank if we hire you?" I thank God anyway. Best Regard, |
romzyxy:Dear Romzyxy, Thank you for your response. I can assure you that, I am currently working towards modifying the areas in my write up which you found wrongly spelt. We promise to always serve you better Best Regards, |
I quickly suspended everything and rushed down to nearby cyber cafe and re-write my CV and added my NYSC experience. Guess what! When I reached the interview venue the next day, I met just four successful ones. After one week, we were three called for training, medical, documentation and offer letter. Kindly share your own experience. Best Regards, |
The last question was, Have you had any issues with your co-workers before and how did you resolve it? One thing about me is that, I am not too fluent in oral communication but I can think very fast to say something whenever a weird and a tricky question is asked. I answered the last question but she re-asked again. So, as I was answering the question again, the guy(one of the panelists) that collected my CV was busy writing and immediately, he now asked me to stop talking. He now said "you can go thank you." With this remark, my negative thought increased i.e I failed woefully. I became very sad and wasn't myself again. I began to blame myself for not including my NYSC in my CV and for the answer I gave for the last question. After four days, I forgot everything and move on with life. To my greatest surprise, after two weeks, I received a text at about 6pm for the final interview to meet with the Bank executives for the next day....... |
Dear Nairalanders, I thank GOD for keeping us throughout last year and making us to see this new year 2015. I pray that all our heart desires shall be met this year. I am writing to let us know that, one can't ascertain his/her success after a job interview until the result is out. I and other 29 applicants was opportuned to be selected for an interview after an aptitude test that was September last year 2014. I was the last person to be interviewed by the panels(two guys and one lady). The interview goes thus; I entered the interview room, one of the panelists asked, may I have your CV? Why is your CV short? Why is your NYSC experience not included in your CV? He now advised me to always include NYSC in my CV. At this point my mind was that I have failed already. The guy now asked other panelists, do you have any question for him? The lady said yes. She now asked me to talk about myself. Duties of a customer service officer? Why must we hire you? What values will you add to this Bank if we hire you?.... |
KillerBeauty:Dear Killer Beauty, Your write up makes me to comment. The sureP and Youwin stuff you talked about is not that scam. What you would have said was that, the programme is another NYSC for a year. It is not well organised in terms of compensation, salaries etc or maybe it is well organised but the people incharge of the programme are cutting the monies meant to be used to pay salary so as to make their selfish interest. I applied for the sureP programme. I was discouraged when I heard about their pay of #25k, working condition where you can't leave if you get a better offer. You are not going to be matched with a job that is inline with your course of study. It is a year job after, you will remain unemployed again. They use to delay salaries for like 3 months. So when I was invited for the lagos job fair 2014, I summoned courage to ignore it and I have a better offer now. GOD help this country. Best Regards, |
armadeo:Oga, kindly check my previous post you will discover that I am not a selfish fellow. I have used my own cash to load credit and send a customised test invite to people in this forum to gatecrash test. E.g during ENTERPRISE BANK TEST last year, I sent a customised test invite to not less than 100 people here to gatecrash. #StopPoisoningABenevolentHeart |
fryo4life:Well, Brilliancy comes in divert ways. Someone may be brilliant educationally and make good grades while some are very poor educationally with POOR grades but VERY intelligent, guru, etc when it comes to jubhunting, getting information, passing job test and interviews. What do I mean? I know one guy in my department that managed to graduate with 2.50 Lower Credit(HND) that have started working with first bank before our call-up came out, he postponed his service. If he got the job through connection, that is brilliancy in another way. Have you ever asked yourself why unserious students in the school are move informative, on the happenings in the department and school? So, it's very possible for a FIRST CLASS chap to be moving around the street in search of jobs, if he lacks the power of networking and information. |
stint:You asked a good question. I applied with my HND for teller, no experience needed but, I had experience during my IT , sales and other unrelated experience to teller position. Hope this helps? |
I applied since last year December and I received an invite for an aptitude test this afternoon but I was unable to post it because of my work. I am not interested because I am currently working. Come along with r originals and copies of all ur credentials icluding fslc, birth cert, hb pencil, eraser and 8 white background passport photographs. Dress corporately and be punctual. The sender's name is, Insourcing. #YouMustBeEmployed |
BRAINIAC001:Dear friend, If you are qualified for this opening, kindly go for it because I know some friends who have started working through U-connect and they were not asked to pay for any training after they scaled through the interview processes. The training is free and if you mess up during the training you might still be disqualified after when their clients have ordered for your services. So you have to be attentive and serious during the training. Best Regards, |
onadana:This your statement motivates me to comment. During my service year was when they increased 'ALLAWEE'.So I thought it wise to spend judiciously while other corps members were buying latest phones, laptops etc I was busy saving. At the end of my service year, I was able to save #110K. When my searching for jobs for 2months proves abortive, then I used my cool #110k to hire a small shop in a local environment, and do business like charging phones, selling recharge cards, visa lottery registration, WAEC etc. The profit I make daily, makes me feel relaxed that I don't jobhunt anymore but when people noticed that I am doing well, they now opened the same business in the same environment with me that makes me frustrated. I began to look for jobs again and took up DSA in a bank for one year. As GOD may have it, I am now working as a CCO with a bank. #LetsStart4rmSmall |
@ All, I would advise you all to go and try your luck because I know some friends who can't speak both languages fluently and had HND that is currently working as a Call Center Agent with one of their clients. Who knows, they might change their mind and accept HND too. What you need is boldness, that is all. |
donigspain2:I love your write up joor! "Employers needs what you will bring to their tables and NOT your Degrees!" It reminds me of the job interview I did early last month with a Bank(name withheld) where the panels asked me, "what will I bring to their take if I am employed?" After one week, I was called for a second and last stage of the recruitment respectively. I am now working with them in the bank and not a marketer again, and the pay is okay. I have changed jobs this year and attended different interviews. The OP should tell the girl with Msc to change her mentality. People are changing from one job to another yet she is saying there is no job. She should remove her Msc and apply for small jobs like DSA, office assistant etc and get good experience to help her get a juicy one at a future time. That is what I did. I've two yrs DSA, one yr CCO & one yr Secretary experience. I rest my case. |
michealekene:Well, I don't want to discourage you but I would advise you not to put "ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET". Their pay is PEANULT. 'you go spend money, time and everything and become tired of pursing this job. I am talking from experience. Goodluck! |
tosynbolade:You neva see anything! Body go tell you wen de time reach. |
you just said everything i told my friends when i resigned from a call center job
OND graduate can get a job at chevron, shell etc it is all about God' s grace, your thinking and how well you press your button.
hope the delay is worth the pay sha...
