mens dept:
Wow, so Igbo man chief of army staff, well lets back track, GEJ is Azikiwe, Igbo, and within 4 months GBAM-Enugu Airport internationalized, Roads in SE must be completed, and Anambara state the brain box of the nation eh?

Surprising what being a president and trying to contest for president can do. But all those responsible for airport extension and road completion are saying the same thing, that money earmarked for the projects were either not enough, have not been fully released, or gona be released in increments (i.e. 2011 and so)

Stand to be corrected
In due time.

If we chose to ignore history because its immediate implication to our tribal-based politics, atleast we have seen crises of secesion of sudan and other parts of the world and also outbreak of war in Iraq and Afghanistan etc.Honestly, did you think the Americans, british and others that supported Nigeria want ibo to scatter the union ? You also did not tell me that ibo had external support !
No, so that they will continue ruling us and the chaos in nigeria that is going on till this day will persist. Iraq-conquered by the US, Afganistan-US still fighting to conquer, Sudan- Southern Sudan accepted Africom that is why they are given referendum(they basically are conquer by the slaves to the US now). Every tribe has a right to go its own way. There was and is nothing called a union when it comes to nigeria as a country.

Jonathan orders early completion of road projects in S-East

News Nov 5, 2010

By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has given a directive that all road projects being executed  in the South East, particularly the Onitsha-Owerri  and Enugu-Onitsha expressways, be completed without further delay.

Mr. Bernard Otti, the Vice Chairman, Presidential Project Assessment Committee, PPAC, disclosed this when he led a delegation of the committee to the South East zone to assess the level of work on the projects.

Speaking at various projects sites visited in the zone, Otti said the president also directed that palliative measures be made in some of the roads to alleviate the problem of the users and allow free movement of vehicle during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Meanwhile, Area Manager of Consolidated Construction Company, CCC, Nigeria Limited, Engr. Hisham Gosayni, and his Project Manager, Engr. Youssef Zghaid, have absorbed their company of any blame for the delay in completing the three major road projects being handled by the company in Anambra State.

They rather attributed the delay to lack of funds, insecurity and inability of the Federal Ministry of Works and Transport to approve applications for supplementary budgets necessitated by variation of contract sums.

The roads are the busy Onitsha-Owerri Road Phase 1 which has Nkpor / Obosi bypass as part of it, Onitsha-Enugu Express way, and the Oba-Nnewi-Uga Road Phase 1.

Gosayni, who defended the company while answering questions from members of PPAC, at the project sites, said contrary to peoples opinion, the company had not unduly delayed the jobs after being paid the contract sums.

According to him, his company would have completed the 47 kilometer Onitsha-Owerri road Phase 1 and the Obosi-Nkpor bypass attached to it that was originally meant to last for two years but for lack of funds from the government to execute the projects.

“This is a N25 billion contract that we are supposed to be getting the budget of N12 billion every year but regrettably in 2006, we got N1.5 million only and in 2007,  N24 billion, the remaining total value of work after 2009 budget is N7.2 billion to be divided into 2010 and 2011 budget,” he noted.

He disclosed that the total sum allocated to the projects in 2010 budgets was N2.4 billion, an amount he said would be exhausted before Christmas, making it impossible to complete the remaining work before August 27,  2011, the new extension period for the project.

Chyz if I didn't know better I would have thought you are Yoruba!  sad angry sad sad

You talk as if ruling other people is THE Igbo agenda. Since when did we start planning to rule other people? huh

Folks misunderstand Igbo hardwork and achievement for plans of domination. undecided undecided

That is why Nigeria is a fat dud that cannot claim any field in world dominance; because Nigeria has been busy trying to contain and put down the rampaging Igbo spirit.

I took one look at the Super Falcons team and saw that it is dominated by Igbo girls.

That is WHY they are STRONG. Remove them, and see the team collapse again. That is part of what killed the super Eagles. undecided undecided

So, Nigeria needs to decide whether they want a winning country which dominate one field or the other (like the Swiss dominate watch making), or a country run by mediocres who lack the energy and ambition to achieve great things for Nigeria.

That is a 50 year old question.

Meanwhile, we roll! Be ourselves and if we dominate any field, well, tough luck to others! We can't live by their dictates and measure.   undecided undecided
Onlytruth bro you know i am Nwa Afor igbo. Too much boasting is not good, bragging is not good.Let us build our house and be humbled about it. I know we are successful in a lot of things but let us not brag about it UNLESS someone tries to throw their achievements in our face and down talk us. What im concerned about it Igbo. Those who try and dominate us will definitely feel the wrath but when we strike,if need be, let it be devistating but ALL FINGERS MUST BE BOLD UP TOGETHER IN ONE FIST.

What if "awolowoism" is a doctrine to which many Yoruba's subscribe?
What if they don't see anything wrong with starvation of children to win a war?

I see your point about not generalizing, but keep your focus on Awo's doctrine. You will miss the GIST if you don't.
O best believe that will never be forgotten. Thats why I prescribe that we get our house together. Be proactive and look back at what happened in the past and put things in place to prevent that from ever happening again and give harsh consequence to those who try it again.

Onlytruth,

You speak the truth yet again. We need a round 2 with the aboki. It is time we Igbos push these barbarians back to the Sahara from which they sprang.

I do not worry much about the Yoruba, but we need our rear protected. Midwest and Ijaw populations would be the perfect buffer against the Yoruba nation.

We need to figure out how to divide the Core North. The Middle Belt is fighting them, but that is enough. The Kanuri need to wake up. Abacha did not care much about all the Emirs of the former Sokoto Caliphate. He was a descendant of the Kanem-Bornu Empire who repelled Uthman dan Fodio. If we can put a wedge between the Kanuri and Hausa-Fulani, then that would be in OUR best interest.
Uche, what you are talking about can never be achieved unless we fix our house. Plan, Plan, Plan and perfection is key but only to protect our people not to go out on conquest like thoughs bastard northerners do.

Why the change in your point of view? It would seem that you are becoming more conciliatory towards the Yoruba. We should have killed Awolowo when we had the chance. He was in our grasp.
Uche, I never changed my views about awolowo.he would have been in pieces if i got my hands on him;however, you can not blame the yoruba has a whole off of what a few like awolowo and adekunle did makes no sense.

Chyz, its inconsequential what u think of Awo however we his people will always see him as more than a mere mortal!

And what did Ojukwu do when he captured the mid-west? He emptied the bank in Benin.

This is war matey and not an old lady's tea party. Everyone tried to placate Ojukwu not ot go to war but he refused. he told Awo, he was talking platitudes. Ojukwu is a militaryman. he knew that embargo was a plausible weapon of war and infact this embargo came into being right from the beginning of the war and yet Ojukwu continued fighting using the fate of his people as a propaganda to secure more arms and ammunitions from the french, hoping to secure a decisive victory over the fed. govt. Basically, Ojukwu sacrificed the lives of thousands of his own people to attain his inordinate ambition. Yet he remains a hero to the igbos!!!

Once Ojukwu and the igbos decided to seceed from the union, the onus is on Ojukwu and his war cabinent to see to the welfare of their people. It wasn't Awo's or Gowon's or the fed govt's responsibility to feed biafrans.

so you think they don't prefer nigeria to biafra huh my brother, they would have been more marginalised if they were in biafra than nigeria.

moreover, after reading te article what do you think? do you still think yorubas were bad for defending themselves? do you still think that ojukwu wouldn't have turn himself into an eternal ruler in biafra with the yorubas marginalisedhuh

that is the way the yorubas saw things and remember, they were neutrals when the war started so more reasons to believe this letter. infact, google it an see what comes up

opobo, is what the ijaws would regard as the spoils of war as ojukwu would have regarded the mid-west and arguably the entire west!!!

you have to understand war!!! its a very bad thing!!!

but i also understand how you feel about the opobo land.

can you see why the yorubas love awo and dislike oukwu?

what ojukwu tried doing, if awo had done the same then igbo land would have been yoruba land by now and we wouldn't like that.

also, i remember my parents telling me that it was not only them that benefited from the free education but igbos too, in lagos benefited from it!!!

my brother, most igbos don't see the underlying truth. all they see is hausa killed us and yorubas staved and betrayed us (remember the yorubas and the igbos were brothers in the southern protectorate)

now that you know have an insight to the event, are you going to inform other igbos ?
I see where you are coming from. However, as far as awolowo, i will never regard him as a man, although i respect his passion for his people. A real man doesn't have the accounts of others emptied out clean. A real man doesn't prescribe starvation of innocent people who had nothing to do with the war. That was a bytch move. He didn't even use the stolen money to develop his people's land instead  he shared the money amongst elites. His family dynasty was built off of the blood, sweat, and tears of the igbo. He indeed did have doe before he did that but could never have bought and started all of those businesses with out the stolen Igbo money. His children and grandchildren should thank the Igbo. Although I do not blame his actions on the yoruba. I hold him solely responsible.

As far as the Ijaws and spoils of war. It's one thing is they were not fighting with the Igbos but they were fighting alongside the Igbo so that was a sissy move. Changing the names of some of the areas to Ijaw names to erase our claim and history.smh. Anyway we are slowly getting our land back so it's all good. cool
