Ofido: Wit due respect but in all sense of urgency i wish to say am so so disappointed in the people that call themself's the Igbo elder's Or Leaders's. Its been pricking my conciense for long now but due to respect to elder's which we wer thougth as kids, but an igbo saying also say's that 'aso ka ta eze anya, ekpuru nkata n'isi gwa ya okwu'. I read as pple wher condenming the lock out of the so called igbo leaders @ owerre and i said if i am ohakim,i wil even hire boys to beat them up because the only thing ther are good at is to useless around from one political meeting to the other all to support one caused IBB man when the Igbo land is on fire. For more than 3 months now,all our children in the south-east state universities has been growing wide in the street in the name of strike and non of our selfish fathers thougth it wise to call the useless igbo leaders political summit abi wetin so ther can talk to the governors, SHAME ON U the Ekwueme's, It was on the eve to the concord hotel summit dat 15children wher kidnapped @aba and non of the Ken Nnamadi's,Iwuanyanu's, Said 1thing about it, SHAME ON U:: i can go on on, Wher are the Ojukwu's who asked us to vote for peter obi and we listened,ARE U DUMP NOW?, The secondary schools peter handed over to the mission are paying 17,000 per kid now, SHAME TO U THE Soludo's and every one of u. Thank you so much for this post. I typed something similar to this when i put up a thread about the lock out. Fake "Igbo leaders" should be met with death, brutal beating, or banishment by we the youth. They are a disgrace. Look at Ojukwu, although he's a great man and did many things that many of us wont do in a lifetime, i don't respect him.He hasn't once come out against the kidnapping. |

Emir of Lafia's daughter kidnapped Johnny Danjuma, Lafia 29/09/2010 16:49:00 THE daughter of Emir of Lafia, Hadiza Isa Mustapha Agwai has been kidnapped. She was abducted Tuesday from the streets of Lafia. Hadiza was reportedly tricked by some persons believed to have faked as motorcycle operators who took away to an unknown destination. A statement from the emirate council and signed by the secretary, HUdu Aliyu Mailafiya said the incident happened on Tuesday evening when the girl was returning from work. Hadiza, about 22 years of age is a staff of Nasarawa state Judiciary. Confirming the incidence to journalists at the palace, Hudu described Hadiza as, tall and fair in complexion, with Kanuri tribal marks. Commenting on the issue, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Nasarawa state command, Richard Okoji, said the police have immediately swung into action to fish out the culprits. As at the time of this report, the abductors are however yet to make any demand as no one has got in touch with them yet. http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/news-update/14728.html |

Beaf: Nice topic.
Please, check out this website thats just starting up. We have geniuses who are actually putting a leg forward for the Black World, rather than simply packing up and running off to Developed climes. Check us out here; http://afrosciencecommunity.com/
We are starting a project from the ground up, that involves innovative ways to share, develop, deliver, execute and teach technology right at community and street level. Allied to the above, we will also hook up communities, inventors and innovators with social entrepreneurs to commersialise or finance grassroots projects. We are just starting up and need as every single person that reads this to register. It is community driven science and tech. Our goal is to enhance and commersialise community knowledge and to identify and nuture inventive talent at grassroots level, before they get frustrated.
In the coming month, we would be able to raise money for qualifying inventor who display an entrepreneural streak to commersialise their inventions. We will also provide monies (where applicable) and guidance for inventors to obtain a Provisional US Patent.
We also offer some free inventions, donated by large hearted inventors. So far, we have 5, but this will increase to 7 over the weekend. The 5 free inventions are;
1. Yam Harvester 2. Banana and Plantain Harvester 3. Energy Forest 4. Atomic Hydrogen Power Plant 5. Solar Air Conditioning
Please visit http://afrosciencecommunity.com/ and see for yourself and do not forget to register and tell everybody you know. Thanks for the info and link. Developments as such, that deal with the betterment of African people are at the top of my list. I have bookmarked it and will definitely spread it around. |
Politics › Re: How Come No White Or Asian Nigerian Is In Politics In Nigeria? by chyz(m): 2:02pm On Sep 29, 2010 |
KnowAll: Just wondering aloud here, in a couple of days we would be celebrating 50 years of independence. And as far as I know many Asians especially Lebanese and Syrians have being in Nigeria for generations now, how come none of them have not broken ranks into the uncharted territory of Nigerian Politics.
Are we a discriminating nation who would not allow other Nigerians who are only different in skin colour OR looks part takes in the politics of their nation? The last someone ever raise his frustrations, was a couple of months ago, a Lebanese based in Kano State was screaming blue-murder at the Kano Authorities for not allowing him to run for the Senate. These foreigners OR Asian and European Nigerians contribute to our national economy and should be allowed to run.
I hope the next 50 years would usher in a new dispensation for Nigeria as Asian and European Nigerians would be allowed to run for any elective post they desire.
At least if that happens we would not have people like late Sam Mbakwe former Governor of Imo State who out of despire and frustration insisted Nigeria should invite the colonial masters back to rule us.
What are your take on this NLanders, I know we have serious tribalism amongst ourselves we the indigenous population but then when we travel to other climes and the White OR Asian man does something wrong to us we label that nation a racist nation, looks like we don’t know and like to be at receiving end of discriminative innuendos yet we dish it out at fellow Nigerians without the slightest thought on a daily basis. How many nigerians are in their politics? |

Beaf: I like the whole concept of giving states and LG's the right to generate electricity, but the framework needs further guidelines. For instance, if a state (or LG) decides to go nuclear, what happens?
On the whole, as I said earlier, this is the beginning of true federalism creeping on us through necessity. It will gradually creep into other areas like state police, state fire services and finally end with state autonomy and finally put an end to the monthly Abuja handouts to states. Go GEJ! Nigeria should stay away from nuclear energy period. |

Ibime: I understand that some Ngwa people turned against Ndigbo during civil war. True or False?
And BTW, why do Northern Igbo always look down on Southern?
Anyway, I don't understand all this Ngwa this, Ngwa that. I be Ngwa man by blood o, and my great grandma is from nearby Etche. What is the link between Ngwa and Etche since I understand that the kidnappers freely traverse both territories. It would seem Ngwa people connect better with their cousins in Rivers State than the Northern Igbo gentrificationists. Hehehehehe
I maintain that Aba is the only place in Nigeria where we have ever come close to industrial revolution. The people there showed serious flair for production of goods from electricals to household items. This kind of production skills and techniques would have been seriously encouraged and given legal avenue in more serious countries like China, but in Naija everything is wasted. I remember that the Nigerian army did encourage some legalisation of Aba made goods by ordering all their boots from Aba. If the people of Aba showed us anything in Nigeria, its that we could become a Japan or China here in Africa. All this talk of Ngwa this, Ngwa that in unprogressive. Name any community in Nigeria which hasn't broken down over the last 30 years. Some just do it faster than others. When the kidnappers were in Rivers, lot of Igbo used to say Ijaw boys done come again, although we maintained that Igbo boys were responsible for most of the inner-city kidnappings in PH. Now e done overhwhelm Aba, na Ngwa turn. Wetin una go talk when Owerri and Anambra inevitably descend into total anarchy as is the inevitable fate of all Nigerian cities? Ibime you are Ijaw and from okrika.you are not ngwa so stop telling falsehoods. Northern Igbos do not look down on southern Igbos, igbos sont see any igbo as "he's northern igbo or he southern igbo" noone see any northern or southern igbo anything.Stop spreading false conjure. |

Justcash:
The Present set of touts that you see patrolling the streets of Aba are not the same "bakassi boys" of old. I dnt know if they bear the same name, but those touts are just members of a petty vigilante group that acts under the pronouncement of Nigeria's extremely corrupt police force. Their rights of execution are very limited, and they virtually act under the shadows of the Nigerian police force. How they operate is, if they catch a criminal, they have to take the criminal to the police to be detained. As expected, The same criminal will bribe his way out and continue to wreak havoc in Aba.
I am talking of the "Bakassi boys" as we knew them. The ones that were once feared by criminals. The ones that fought crime to a standstill.
Anarchy requires some measure of "Jungle justice" to be curtailed. I doubt Abia gov't will allow it because they are the ones involve with the kidnapping. Peter Obi has brought them back to Anambra.just a few weeks ago they burned like 40 kidnappers and they are continuously searching for them. I guess that is why you dont hear any nonsense from anambra anymore. |
Politics › Re: The Only Solution To The Chaos In Aba Is The Return Of Bakassi Boys by chyz(m): 9:17am On Sep 29, 2010 |
Justcash: The unfortunate incidents in Abia state these few days are really disheartening. From the story of a child forced to have S'ex with his mother, to the story of the kidnapping of Nursery/Primary school kids, there is no doubt that the state is in a mess. These events show how useless the Nigerian police is. I will not be surprised if the police are very much aware of the culprits, but prefer to wait for ransom to be paid for them to get their shares. The simple solution to the anarchy in Abia state is the re-introduction of the AVS (Abia state Vigilante service), popularly called the "Bakassi vigilante. They should be introduced to carry out activities the way they used to do it. There is an urgent need for a security outfit that will make those criminals to desist from their heinous activities. The Nigerian policemen are a set of hungry men, who are very scared of losing their lives, and prefer to think of their families than protect the lives they were employed to protect. The worst part is that they are given loaded guns to carry about, and use in harassing Nigerians. I still cannot understand why the Nigerian police force seem insolvent, and very useless. I also cannot understand why the Nigerian government cannot just introduce state policing. It will be very much more effective than what we have now. If the Bakassi boys file out in their usual blood thirsty manner, Those criminals will chill like cubes of ice block
However, the Orji's may have their heads chopped off first by the Bakassi boys. So, I bet T.Orji would rather live in the Anarchy than heed to my suggestion.
Very disheartening. the Bakassi is still in Aba. I was there early this year. They patrol the streets in their trucks. The thing about them is that there is not factions stationed in each neighborhood or pivital corners which makes things even easier for kidnappers.they go once or twice around an area and thats it for a long period of time. |

mikeansy: I have never heard Tafawa Balewa speak, I did not know his English was this good.
Folks ignore Bluetooth, he has no clue what he is doing or saying.
The dude is obsessed with Ojukwu.
Ojukwu was a great speaker and a Charismatic leader. Regardless of what you make of the civil war, the fact remains that to inspire a people to wage a secessation battle for 3years is not an act for colourless leaders who are unable to communicate.
Even every current video and audio evidence points to that fact that Ojukwu speaks very good english.
So you can only see that Bluetooth is filled with hate and having a debate with him is like having a debate with a dining table and no sane person should engage in that. LOL. I agree bro. He is ignored.nuff said. |

There is no way that people in whatever area that they are in will not know whats going on. Kids will continue to make noise and cry. If they exact location of these kidnappers are located are people there should be arrested and they whole area should be completely dismantle and handed over to the government and used as poperty this if the government has nothing to do with it. |
