PoliticsRe: Atiku - Police Arrest 2 Members Of Boko Haram In Jos by chyz(m): 11:58pm On Sep 21, 2010
How do they know its boko haram.Do they have some special suit that they wear? Anyways this is all a ploy to put fear in GEJ. The way that they are saying the "boko haram" members gave info is to unrealistic. It seems more like the northerners are planning something and using this incident as a backdrop.I believe the northern politicians are probably in the process of having GEJ killed(God forbid). If that happens, no northerner shall step foot into presidency again so they better jettison that plan now.
PoliticsRe: Can The North Secede? by chyz(m): 11:37pm On Sep 21, 2010
I can't wait till the north gets Arewa Republic.Northerners are known to turn deserts into grasslands grin.Anyways they can practice sharia to its highest extremity.

And the way the article said may "use boko haram" is it that boko haram is supported by politicians, northerners killing each other huh huh Nahh i dont think so

CIA may be using Osama who is under their protections embarassed but the Boko Haram nooooo
Of course the CIA is in on this and making the mayhem happen;however, these fools in the north are landing themselves in hot soup with all these threats to southerners because the feel as though they are Royalty or some shyt.

Reading your reply one would think you had hot Egba in your mouth, lol!, but seriously so the northerners that went for GEJ declaration went there in body only, man you can think better than that, furthermore you showed your Sagacity in understanding simple English, as I said clearly you and your Cohorts do not even understand your neighbor--the northerners-- next door yet you said I brought religion into the Discussion, man I wonder whether you read by approximation not word for word, Furthermore you showed how sincere you are, as the senate that made GEJ the acting President is only composed of Sourtherners, man I clap for your "Intelligence" , as the senate is composed of both Northern and Southern people and they Voted in Unison to make GEJ  acting President yet your Heart is so Jaundiced that all the Northerners ganged up together and furstrated GEJ till Yar'adua death, even while they where Northerners that vioced their opposition to the way the Yar'dua saga was being handled, again only a fool will think you can become president without any part of the north supporting you,yet they are many Northern gorvonors who actively Support GEJ, and other Politicians also give him their support whether it is out of their greed or not --they give him Support, you said all their Imams call Southerners infidels, is that what you grandfather told you? coz it is false as the Sultan of Sokoto Prayed behind a Yoruba Imam, if that was how  they viewd things the emir would have stayed far and again this same sultan has been in contact with kings from other parts of the country notably meeting Igwes in the south, You can believe what you want to as I have come accross men with more foolish opinion than yours, as all this deep seated hatred against
Look, All hail Arewa Republic!!!

The truth of the matter is that the north is the stabilizing factor in present nigeria. Deep down our minds we know that the Igbo prefers the Hausa than Yoruba, Yoruba prefers Hausa than Igbo and the other southern minority will also prefer a Hausa man than other southerners.

From the above analysis if the north should secede the south will be melting pot of conflict among themselves.
Bye North dont worry about us in the south when you leave all will be in peace, including you. Yorubas have their country in the Making and so does the Igbo and minority groups. Up Up Arewa Republic may your country be realized!

@OP
your thread sir lack merit and hardly in tandem with common sense as GEJ gets a lot of support from the north even during the Yar'adua saga Northerners played a vital role in his ascension to the presidency, but like typical of the Ignorant you read loads of foolish comments with no iota of understandings as some fools think the north is Purely Muslim, no there are loads of Christians and furthermore If Northern leaders are Frustrated as such why did we see them at GEJ declaration who are backing him for the Presidency, the OP failed to understand Politics in Nigeria is more of selfishness of a few rather than service to the many. it is apity that some so called educated? individuals do not even understand the basic composition of the North, this kind of foolishness you will even find in Univesity pofessors in the south who will tell you the noth is Hausa-Fulani, it is just a pity.
Since when does the showing up of northern governors at GEJ declaration mean that they are backing him up? If that were the case then there would be no need for primaries. Its called politics. Its not a christian/muslim thing. You people in the core north make it seem that way.  And you said the north supported GEJ in the Yaradua saga? These people went through all kinds of lies and nonsense that embarrassed nigerians all over the world to try and stop GEJ from getting the presidential seat. We all know Yaradua died last year and his death was only just announced this year you greed bigots. And just like the Imams in the north they tell you that all southerners are infidels, yorubas and igbos. Look just go your way you northerners will do well.Your leaders are the ones calling for chaos not us.

Sorry the Urobos alone is small compared to the Igbo and even when combine with the Isoko they are still not as large as the igbos:

WE NEED EACH OTHER MY FRIEND. WE NEED A PRACTICAL FEDERALISM NOT COSMETIC SURGERY THAT WILL DISSECT AND WEAKEN US. THERE IS A GREATER STRENGTH WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER. THE NORTH IS NOT THE PROBLEM.
Ok, what does the East need from the North? what does the West need from the North? And how would they be weakened if they went their own way?

THERE IS A GREATER STRENGTH WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER. OUR FATHERS FOUGHT TO KEEP US AS ONE, SO WHY WOULD ANY ONE WISH FOR A SEPARATED NIGERIA. I STILL SEE A BRIGHTER LIGHT IN OUR UNITY, MAY BE IN THE TIME OF OUR CHILDREN, THE LIGHT WILL SHINE BETTER, THAT IS THE DREAM OF OUR FATHERS. NORTH, SOUTH, EAST OR WEST, WE NEED EACH OTHER, AND WILL CONTINUE TO CO EXIST. WE SHOULD WORK TO PROMOTE WHAT WILL KEEP US TOGETHER THAN WHAT WILL MAKE US TO GET SEPARATED, JUST LIKE THIS POST.
May your fathers fought to keep Nigeria together so that a few elites can enjoy but Igbo,Ibibios, and so Ijaws fought to go their own way. Our fathers never had that dream that you talk about. The is a greater strength when we are together as Africans but not nigerians. As African brothers we can have our own countries and trade with each  other and live in peace without fighting over who owns what.

With true federalism, the north can practise whatever religion they like. If you move from one state to the other in the United States, it will almost seem as if you are in a different country. That is what I mean by federalism. If southerners still feel comfortable living in the north, they can stay but if not, they can move back to their states.

Already the north claimed federalism when introducing sharia. Is the north not almost completely islamatized with the introduction of sharia.

Breaking will not check the problem but bring it to the fore as you will find minority tribes screaming 'marginalization'. I believe in true federalism. The states control their resources and systems of governance.
And how does the country staying together, federalism or not stop the minority tribes from screaming 'marginalization'? In delta state alone the igbos are the single largest tribe amongst various tribes, the same goes for the yorubas with kwara, the idoma with benue, etc.

Nigeria staying together will just continue to be a tug of war for resources. Federalism is not the answer. It'll still never work especially since the same elites will be in the same positions as now.

@Chy: You dont seem to understand the point. When we all go our separate ways, we will still have the units fighting. True federalism means the centre will be weak and unattractive while the states control their resources.

I believe the north has more long term potentials than the south but the fact that they will get some allocation from the FG at the end of each month will make them and infact every other region lazy and less enterprising.

Lagos can survive without FG's allocation. How many states can do that?

I think we should apply the onshore - offshore dichotomy for deep water oil wells and leave the states to control the wells and other resources within their boundaries.
The North wants all out islamic rule so can federalism help them receive that? No. Can them going their own way give them that?Yes. You talk about the fighting between small groups, its not even major and once they get their own autonomy it will calm down. Also with other various tribes fighting, nigeria cant even prevent that because its to many tribes so the smart thing would be to break apart and those problems can be easier checked. And since you say the north has more long term potential than let them go their way.

I dont think dividing the country will solve our problems. What about the Ijaws/Itsekiri crisis, the Ife/Modakeke crisis. We have over 200 ethnic groups in Nigeria. Does it mean we must have over 200 nations. Even at that, there will still be crises.

I think true federation, where every state controls its resources and the centre is weak and unattractive will be the solution to our problems.
Whats the point of federalism when everybody can go their way and sustain themselves? If they become their own countries and trade with each other,is that not better?

Stop trying to act like you care about we Igbos. Its flat out majority of us as of now are for GEJ. Uche, Udezue is right in all ramifications. Before i start i want to say, who gives a damn about the betrayal of the yorubas. Also ive come to the conclusion that IBB doesnt give a damn about the Igbos,if he did he would have come out i told the North that if they keep giving threats of chaos that he would pull out of the presidential race completely. however, hes not going to do that because he doesnt care about igbos or any other southerner and all of the threats are to his advantage whether they are carried out or not. They see us, the middlebelt, and the west as their bytches that they will whip in line if we dont do what they say. Im convinced now that GEJ based on whats happening now is our best bet.
