Becomrich0: Why would anyone scare me. You see, if you go to bida or Nupe towns and you go and speak Yoruba, they nupe in Niger state would reply you in yoruba. Are the Nupe people Yoruba people. No. It is the same story with this people of the north delta state area.
Look before a Nupe man would understand hausa, he first learns his Yoruba. Look I have been to niger state several times. Go there and ask them if they do not understand Yoruba, they would reply you in Yoruba.
That why most people assume IBB was Yoruba, because of his name Badamosi babaginda. Does that name not look Yoruba too you. even a Yoruba man can bear the name badamosi babaginda. but are the Nupe people Yoruba, NO. they are not, they are Nupe people. Are Agbor or owa people Igbos. NO.
Look if they destroy the niger bridge and igbo people can not cross again. Go there in 100 years, they would not understand Igbo. If they destroy the Jebba bridge in Kwara , the Nupe people would not understand Yoruba. The reason why the people of this area understand igbo is because they need Igbo to trader with igbo travel who use the road , same thing for the nupe people. They need Yoruba to do business. If I am correct more than 50% of the nupe people speak Yoruba. Go to bida or mokwa. most of them have never cross the river before. So do we now claim Nupe people are Yorubas too. NO. I guess you can say the same about the ekitis. ijebus, and ilajes if that is the case. |

Plus Dambazzau is furious about his being sacked and i guarantee you he is making plans along with soldiers and northern elite to overthrow the government. Beaf: I believe it is most important that Jonathan removes Gen Maina, the GOC in Jos. Or at least ensure that he is as ineffective as a wad of toilet roll. This is the time to reposition the army, strip any suspect brigades off weapons and 100% arm up loyal troops, MEND, MASSOB, OPC and any youthful Middle Belter/Southerner that can weild a cutlass.
No state of emergency should be declared, either in states or nationally (even if Heaven falls), because thats what the criminals want. I agree with the replacement of those army generals but how can he do that without causing trouble? Also as far as the southern groups go, at this point, the Niger Delta is at the head. Its like they are at the from tip of the arrow the East at the right tip and the West at the left. As of now the south should move with the ND heading because they are the only ones with nuts so far. also we can forget about Asari Dokub's militia group the NDPVF. |

If IBB really cared about the Igbos, he would come out now and condemn this threat by the North and tell them that if they continue to make such threats that he will drop his presidential aspiration. But he's not going to because he sees it as an advantage. Look my concern is Igbo, which include you and your family, me and my family. No death or oppression is acceptable at any costs. ~Bluetooth: Have you ever seen a peaceful secession before ? If no, then, the agents of secession should have known that such crusade would definitely result to war which it actually did. If Im not mistaking thers been a couple. So i guess then i t is ok to let the aggressor oppress you. Remember awolowo said "If the East is allowed to secede then the West will secede too". Obviously he knew that nigeria was a chaotic place otherwise we would have said, let the igbos go We the rest of nigeria, which includes the West, North, and some of the midwest, will stay together and enjoy our happy nation. But it didnt happen. Northern troops occupied Yorubaland, awolowo said that they should leave his land but they refused. The whole oduduwa republic started waaaaaayyyy before the OPC. Yorubas wanted their own state just like the Northerners wanted at one time, along with the Igbos. So you cannot be mad at the Biafrans for wanting secession because your people along with others wanted it too. |

~Bluetooth: Two different missions entirely.biafra was a suicide mission while june 12 was about democracy.war is one thing i dread so much. The "suicide" mission is left for the Igbos to worry about. It's not hurting your people because obviously we are the ones who committed "suicide" so if anything us speaking about should be hurting us.So dont worry about it,let us continue to hurt ourselves. .But we must tell our story. Biafra was not about war but secession.Secession as nothing to do with war;however, war was brought to them. We the north was seceding on the call i believe of Danjuma, Ojukwu said if they want to go, then go. They did not because of a promise given to them by Britain and the US. As far as June 12 goes. It was not about democracy, it was about power, money, and influence. Abiola had ties to the military, which he was the funded 2 coups, he was also involved in the back-drop of Liberia with president Doe.He was a businessman that did a lot of evil things and towards the end it was revealed that he was a tribalist. Long story short he was One Of Them i.e. the Elites, not a regular citizen as most NLers. Maybe you can explain to me why Biafra wasnt about democracy and June 12 was? |

G.B.T: He did not see anything wrong with the fact that Babangida was in power for eight years, as military, and still wants to return as civilian president. He said of this: “I would even go further to say that if 16 years were possible provided the man is healthy and his senses are still intact and his coordination is still alright, then he should offer himself for the job and if the people want him, so be it.”
Apologies to my igbo bruvs but with this statement credited to Ojukwu it means what ever the man is smoking is now smoking him! I mean we are talking about Nigeria and not Kwara state? Or is the man that broke or does he thinks he can be relevant in the scheme of things with such statement? The unfortunate fact is that he is not as smart as IBB and he will be used and dumped! Don't take it out of context. The main thing we stated is "If the people want him". And when he made this particular statement he generally speaking, not specifically speaking about IBB. |

we seem to forget lots of our agricultural produce comes from the north or middle belt in particular We have agriculture to sustain ourselves and if by any chance southners are pushed out of the north which will lead to a population change then the East can always get their agricultural produce from Cameroon and the West can always get theirs from Benin Republic. Politics › Delta North Leaders Laud Uduaghan, Fix Sept 29 As Igbo Day by chyz(op): 6:20am On Sep 20, 2010 |
Delta North leaders laud Uduaghan, fix Sept 29 as Igbo Day Monday, 20 September 2010 00:00 From Hendrix Oliomogbe, Asaba News - National LEADERS of the largely Igbo-speaking people of Delta State have commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for his developmental strides and canvassed support for him to complete his projects and programmes. Led by the Onyisi Ndi Igbo, Ezeudo (Sir) Peter Chukwu, with whom were other leaders, including Chief Agbagha Ogbuanu, President, Ohaneze Ndigbo; Chief Walter Onyema, Onowu Ndi Igbo; Chief Augustine Asimole, Onwa Ndi Igbo and Comrade Festus Ukeje, they pledged to reciprocate Uduaghan’s kind gesture of developing Delta North Senatorial District with a commitment to mobilise and work for his second term bid. The Igbo leaders, who spoke on a visit to the Uduaghan 2011 Campaign Headquarters, Asaba yesterday told the Director General, Prof. Godini G. Darah, that they were mobilising for the governor because of his support for the Igbo in Delta South and Central senatorial districts when they faced some challenges. Chukwu said that the Igbo were greatly touched by Uduaghan’s benevolence, and that they see the coming elections as an opportunity to reciprocate the good things he did for them. He said: "Uduaghan intervened in the little problem the Igbo had in Delta Central and Delta South. On two, three occasions, he called us and tried to resolve our problem." He emphasized that his people would use the September 29, 2010 celebration of Igbo Day at Warri Township Stadium to declare to the world that they are for Uduaghan. Also, elder statesman, Senator Nosike Ikpo, and House of Assembly aspirant, Mr. Oho Uyemevi Louis (PDP, Iyede-Ameh, Ndokwa East), have said that the governor was doing well in governance and should therefore be given a second tenure to enable him to consolidate on his development programmes. Besides, Ikpo said that allowing Uduaghan to govern for another term would be in consonance with the zoning principle of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which governs the state. The second republic senator spoke on the governorship race in the state in an interview in Ibusa, Delta North. He stated that he had already coordinated wide consultations with political leaders and groups in the senatorial district and disclosed that they had agreed that no governorship aspirant from the area would be encouraged. Ikpo said that he had also consulted with leaders in the Central senatorial district (Urhoboland) on the need to respect the zoning arrangement and to support Uduaghan for another tenure, adding: “After his tenure, we in the North district will take our turn in 2015 and I know that he and his people will support us.” Oho, who also canvassed support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s decision to contest the 2011 election on the PDP’s platform, enjoined politicians to “be God-fearing, so that we can lift our people and country from poverty, misery and shame.” http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23627:delta-north-leaders-laud-uduaghan-fix-sept-29-as-igbo-day&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |

olafolarin: It is however the height of mediocrity and self-degradation for a whole Tribe to be expected to be handed over Presidency by proxy.
Ibos need to wake up from their slumber and realise that whatever they need will have to be fought for. The ingratious OBJ got the Presidency because of the June 12 warriors.SW didnt rest on its hoarse and expected to be handed over presidency. Igbos can play the marginalisation, war and tribal card anytime but they will never get anything they dont fight for. And lying, betraying and distorting facts against the Yorubas,NDeltans etc is a big step in opposite direction, The last 50 years was without Igbos (real)Presidency. The next 50 may go that way too if Igbo are not united
PERIOD THE SW DID NOT FIGHT FOR ABIOLA SO STUFF IT!!! The is no such thing as June 12 warriors being people from the SW.Stop telling lies.He died 2 years later and then that was it! He was substituted after the annulment. If IBB didn't decide to allow OBJ( his friend) to have presidency then what would have happen?? They swept the June 12 under the carpet and if the SW had made a difference they would have succeeded with their own choice of presidency instead of the imposition of OBJ. Don't mention about who and who didnt fight. Igbos fought, Ijaws fought, Fulani fought, Hausa fought, Ogoni fought.Yorubas never fought for anything so lets stick to the topic. I can agree with you to an extent on the Igbos needing to be united as far as an election goes; however, thats not the case they can be untied for IBB(which may be a bad chose) or they can be united for GEJ(which may be the best choice). The thing that we have to do is learn for our passed and the records of those who are offering us anything and when we have done our research and analysis then choose the one who is out best bet. There is no such thing as choosing a person because he will had us the torch and if we refuse to help him then we wont receive anything. We are not in a fairy tell. We work on presidency through unity not off of a promise, that is the challenge. |

koruji: While this conspiracy is hard to deny you have to note that it is actually within the circle of elites that have stolen and pillaged Nigeria for the last 50 years. That is what you have to realize -this is a conflict among thieves, of which IBB is one big klepto. The solution then is not to help them resolve their differences in the name of "promises" they make - you should know by now that it amounts to nothing, absolutely nothing!
You keep holding on to your own false conclusion that IBB single-handedly put OBJ on the throne in 1993 - that is what IBB himself would like to believe, but it is not true. His craziness doesn't allow him to see that while people considered him an influential personality in Nigeria, and we all know his coup history, the emperor actually has no clothes. Ask yourself why he was unable to get the stool for himself in 2007 - the same reason he is not going to get it this time. The funny part is that this emperor that has no clothes either on his person or in storage is promising you the most beautiful cloth you desire and you are dancing through market - sorry o.
The number of Igbos is certainly a factor, but what is the population of the Nupe to which IBB belongs. My comparison what supposed to be absurd to point out that your isolation of Igbo in the south for presidency is just as absurd - what you are saying to the smallest groups in Nigeria is forget any chance of ever becoming president in Nigeria, but this is exactly what you are trying to reject. Note that I mentioned Ijebu-Jesha for good measure to make it really absurd - it is actually a town with a name formed from the name of the two yoruba groups.
What we need to do is take our government away from them and truly put in place a truly equitable system. As far a minority tribe is concerned, yes i think most nigerias(at least non-religious bigots) would love to see them go for presidency in high numbers but until there is fairness recognized amongst the major tribes, that hope will continue to be suppressed. For instance, Igbos will always fight to get presidency and worry about that alone, this mentality is caused by inequity and discrimination;until it is checked they will not say alright lets calm down and vote for the best candidate be it isoko, ogoni, itsekiri, or edo. Naturally, we dont care if the person is from our own enclave as long as he's bad then he is bad and if somebody from a different tribe comes that is better then he'll get our vote. We've always been a democratic society, check our history; however, because of the marginalization of the Igbos there is always a tug of war which causes minority tribes to be left out of presidency. |
