komando.:Well said. |
I thought the soldiers were already there? Mr. uncle told me ever since the last big bank attack the army as been positioned all over Aba and been trying to flush the hoodlums out.thats a few weeks ago. Have they left or something? |
afam4eva:Nigeria is headed for disaster I can see it now. The whole rotation/zoning thing is a fraud. How is GEJ or IBB allowed to run for PDP candidate when the presidency is still zoned to the NW? GEJ is from SS and IBB is from Middle Belt. Those two reasons should disqualify the both of them. The northerners are just as guilty as the SS as far as ignoring the agreement. The only way i see this working out for the igbos are only 2 ways:either they all join(meaning Utomi and any other igbo leader) PDP but have made an agreement with other SE groups not to allow any aspirants or all of the Igbos leave PDP and join one political group together and campaign hard has hell! Things aint looking so good. Im seriously believing that the US prediction of nigeria around or by 2015 is actually going to happen.smh |
manny4life:I swear some of you people find it so hard to read and later you will go to someone from another country and speak nonsense about nigeria. If you want to know the READ!!!!!! |
asha 80:Go read the business sections in the nigerian newspapers. Innosons car manufacturing is going to be one of the big ones as well. |
afam4eva:True. and Im guessing you mean adopt him as an official candidate for 2015. but look at this, 2015 is zone to the SE only under the PDP arangement. Utomi is neither in the PDP or from the SE so how can this be sorted out. Also we are not sure if Anioma is going to get ceded to the SE. We all know that in 2015 that if there isnt a mass exodus out of the PDP to prevent an Igbo from becoming president, then Uzo Orji Kalu is definitely going to be its candidate. how do we get around that dilemma? |
manny4life:After reading throug the whole article i have deduced this argument as another ploy to cause panic and pressure African countries, like nigeria, into British agenda. They are introducing nothing to nigeria as facr as development that nigeria isnt doing already to boost its economy. Nigeria invests in telecommunication heavily and manufacturing investments are on an increase. Its in its development stages. This is a rerun of what britain always does, make the country believe that they are in turmoil that they cant get out of, and they have the answer and cure. This is how the agenda pushing always begins. They just want to build their own manufacturing companies and telecom companies in nigeria to exploit its people and resources. |
dtw_sola:I didnt miss the point. Every race is always going to hate in some way a people that is not like them. Is the guy sane? maybe not. I can say he his because of a lot of things he's done; however, be you paying attention solely on the "race comment", theirs always going to be racism. By you being attracted to that only aspect, what can you build from that or use to bring the change that you want from back africans? Nothing. However, if you look deeper in to his actions, as far as him being brave enough to taunt the West and not allowing them to control him or his country, then you can learn something that you can take back to build black African leaders. We all know that most of them do whatever the white man tells them even if it means killing there own people to please him and get a little something on the side. LOOK DEEPER! |
Sagamite:No, he's not suffering for delusion, your just suffering from ignorance and stupidity. Read more and learn about controversies that are going on in the world and in the news. Nigeria is not overpopulating in the way that Britain is making it seem. Open your eyes because from what you've typed you know nothing. Look up the Depopulation Agenda, u can even youtube it.Better yet just go on CNN webnews or BBC web news. Hell type it in the search engine lol. You are the one suffering from the inferiority complex. ![]() |
cap28:I dont disagree with what you are saying at all. The point that I was making is, besides the fact of his insanity, at least he has the balls to deal with the white western countries, unlike most of the other black african presidents who prostrate, worship, abide by anything those Western countries tell them to do. I admire his bravery and stern persona this it,thats all. |
ifyalways:Thank you! I thought Ijeoma is safe journey? what dialect is "Awele"? |
kola oloye:God's own |
Daughter mediates in Alaafin, Alao-Akala’s row By Olalekan Adetayo, Ibadan Thursday, 2 Sep 2010 One of the daughters of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, Princess Folasade Adeyemi, on Wednesday mediated in the current face-off between his father and the state Governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, with a call on the two actors to sheathe their swords. She has also called on former President Olusegun Obasanjo to reconcile the warring factions because she believes he has all it takes to resolve the matter. The frosty relationship between the monarch and the governor blew open recently when the Alaafin petitioned the Presidency and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo, alleging that the governor was planning to assassinate him. The governor has since denied the allegation. But addressing journalists amid sobs on Wednesday in Ibadan, the state capital, the princess called on his father and the governor to forgive each other and forget about the past in the interest of peace. Specifically, she called on the Alaafin to overlook whatever Alao-Akala must have done wrong because it was not politically expedient for him, as the chairman of the state Council of Obas, to allow a crack in his relationship with the governor. The princess, who is aspiring to represent Atiba/Afijo/Oyo East and West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, asked the traditional ruler to note that as the “Iku Baba Yeye, no mere mortal can murder Iku.” She asked the traditional ruler to see Alao-Akala as his son, his friend, his governor and as an image of God with whom he shares common humanity. She said, “In the name of God and in the true spirit of Ramadan, a special month of forgiveness in Islam, forgive Otunba Alao-Akala. To err is human, to forgive is divine. “To Governor Alao-Akala, you are known for your respect and regard for traditional rulers and stool. You should promptly demonstrate same now. “You need to remember the critical role played by the Alaafin when it mattered most as you climbed the ladder to the pinnacle of power in Oyo State. “There is no reason for feuding at this time. You should look at the good things you share with Alaafin and not the combative ranting of some lesser minds, who tend to feed fat on this saddening situation. But the traditional ruler has faulted the position of the princess for dabbling into a matter that she knows little or nothing about. His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Fehintola Azeez, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone on behalf of his principal, said the princess did not seek a clearance from the palace before addressing journalists on the issue. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201009021335618 |
Utomi to moderate Ogun debate on N100b bond Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji September 1, 2010 11:55PM Former Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Pat Utomi, is expected to moderate the public debate between the executive and legislative arms of the Ogun State Government over the controversial N100b bond. The State’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Sina Kawonise, who made this known yesterday in Abeokuta, said the debate is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Lawmakers had challenged the states’ governor, Gbenga Daniel, to the debate after they declined to back the bond deal. Mr. Kawonise initially mocked the idea of a public debate on the matter but the position was later changed. The lawmakers promised to okay the bond if they lost the debate. Live transmission Mr Kawonise said the public debate, which will be transmitted live on Gateway Television and Gateway Radio, will hold at the station’s studio at 10.00am and that the executive and the legislature are expected to be represented by three members each. “The public debate which will be transmitted live on Gateway Television and Gateway Radio will hold in the studios of the Gateway Television, Abeokuta as from 10.00am, while a renowned political economist, Prof Pat Utomi will serve as the Moderator,” he said. “The state government wishes to give the assurance that all necessary arrangements have been put in place at the Gateway Television to ensure smooth transmission of the programme. It is hoped that the leadership of the state house of assembly will live up to its call on this crucial matter.” http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5613967-146/utomi_to_moderate_ogun_debate_on.csp |
mens dept:You still havent stated your point. If there is something you want to fix or have a discussion about, then u are free to start ur own topic and have that discussion. Also, if this is a waste of time, im wondering why you are wasting u time on this thread . Anyways Anioma is coming into the topic and WaWa. Igbo kwenu! |
Source please. |
mens dept:Anywayz, here's another video ![]() [flash=300,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxIVstn_tS4&feature=related[/flash] From Asaba,Delta State |
mens dept:Knowledge was and is being spread. |
As far as the delta Igbo thing, people from Asaba, Ibusa(igbuzo), ogwashi-uku will undeniably let you know that they are Igbo. Its when you get to other parts such as Ika, ndokwa, ukwuani LGA that you find hostility. Even amongst these Igbo areas there are different dialects that are spoken. Even the regular igbo greetings suchj as "kedu" are not profound In Ika the greeting for a man i believe is "maba" and for a woman its "mane" or something like that. In ukwuani you will here greetings such as "Ajeni" or sumthing close to that. It is just like across the river, in Imo and some places in abia you will here greetings such as "Oleah" but if you say it to an Anambra person they will look at u like "huh? Enough with the ChinenyeN bashing. just let him be. Lets move on with the topic. ![]() |
ChinenyeN:Yep will be there definitely |
EzeUche22:Yep will be there. Since you are in the DC area im sure we have some of the same friends.Igbo kwenu! ![]() |
ChinenyeN:The point of this thread is to learn about the extent of the richness of the Igbo. What you are doing is bringing negativity to yourself and to this thread which is not of any need here. Its not about Ngwa or orlu or kwale or any other area in igbo land, it is simply about the Igbo. I am not Ngwa but i am going to an ngwa convetion this weekend. That is what is about the richness of brotherhood amongst the Igbos. Desist from such a hard heart towards your brothers! |
naijaking1:It is but not widely. Oh and yea if you go to rivers today the Igbos from there (ikwerre, etche, ekpeye etc.) are so insecure about being igbo that its a shame but funny ![]() |
Obiagu1:I had a recheck on the area of Benue Igbo as well because the outlining of the igbo area seemed to be off. You right the Benue map is indeed wrong anlong withe river state map posted on that same site. Will search for a better representation. |
Pls what is the meaning of IJEAWELE or AWELE? |
Andre Uweh:Dont blame the ogonis. if it is being considered good. Blame the ikwerre because they are the ones fighting against igbo being taught in PH schools. If you go to rivers today. U will see that the ikwerre are even ashamed to speak their own igbo in public.they are trying so hard to be accepted by the ijaw. They even try to dress like them and they just look so dum lol smh. Wen u go to the famous PH seafood market, when they hear igbos speaking they keep quiet and speak english but when u bargain a price with them and the price that they give u is not good, when u begin to walk away lol then thats when they will start speaking in igbo to you and say they are igbo. But the funny thing is that they dont know that those other igbos can tell they are of ikwerre extraction. Anywayz wen it suits them then they know they are igbo, when it doesnt then they are Ikwerre. Any igbo person thats been to that Sea market in PH can attest to what i just said. |
