Do "US" a favor or U? Who do you suppose we Igbo should support in terms of Igbo interest and why?

ChinenyeN:

Since when did the Igbo elect a leader? I don't remember hearing of any Igbo elections in which Uwechue contested and became "Igbo Leader". I don't recall any apex Igbo political body holding an Igbo-wide election, in which the Oha voted. Ohanaeze is something else. The more I watch, and the more you devouts overexplain, the more Ohanaeze gives itself away as an authoritarian-type organization.

Socio-cultural indeed. Now the Igbo magically have a leader. .  sni nama.

Exactly what do you expect them to do as far as being a Pro-Igbo organization?

The decision is FINAL. Anyboby claiming to be Ohanaeze and giving support to IBB or any other candidate is false.

2011: Ohanaeze caucus okays Jonathan’s endorsement
News Oct 31, 2010

By Tony Edike

ENUGU—THE Imeobi (Inner caucus) of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has formally ratified the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan’s bid for the 2011 presidential election, insisting that his choice was the outcome of five months consultation with a wide spectrum of Ndigbo in Nigeria and the Diaspora.

President General of Ohanaeze, Ambassador Ralph Uwechue, who made this known while presenting the communiqué of the Imeobi meeting held in Enugu weekend, also said the meeting approved the extension of the tenure of Ohanaeze’s executive from two to four years, beginning from the current executive.

Uwechue, who defended his earlier decision to announce the endorsement of Jonathan without the approval of Imeobi and the General Assembly of Ohanaeze, said that following the wide consultations by a group of eminent Igbo leaders on the 2011 presidency, it became pertinent to make the position of the organization known, pending its ratification by the enlarged meeting of the body.
… As Clarke hails Ohanaeze on Jonathan

By Dennis Agbo

NSUKKA—FIRST Republic politician and former Minister for Information, Chief Edwin Clarke, has commended the apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, for endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan as a candidate all Igbo should support and vote for in 2011 presidential election.

Clarke said that by the singular gesture, the Igbo had re-demonstrated an acknowledgment of the old tie between the South East and South-South that he described as one entity only separated by delineations for convenience of political administration.

Clarke, who spoke at Nsukka, Enugu State, weekend, at the declaration of Mrs. Chinwe Ugwu for House of Representative, said in reality, President Jonathan could not be separated from the Igbo, noting that it was very possible for President Jonathan’s successor by 2015 to come from the South East.

I beg tell them.
So, Olusegun Igbochukwu Obasanjo is Igboman. And of course Jonathan Ebelechukwu Azikiwe is also an Igboman. While looking for ways to deny Igbos their chance at 2015, don't also forget that Alhaji Shehu Sorochukwu Shagari, and Gen. Ibrahim Batanisi-nmiri Babangida are also Igbomen. Did you also say Alhaji Atufue-aku Atiku?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

But look at the map.its basically saying all eastern states can fit in Edo.Well at least if you cut off the long half of Abia.

ChinenyeN:

There's nothing socio-cultural about this scenario/assertion/quote.

One of the missions of Ohanaeze is to encourage the Igbo to vote for who is in their best interest. This is different from an endorsement. The point is Igbo interest or do you expect them to be handing out yams to appease Ajoku?
Politics / Re: Is Igbo Claim To More Quantitative Education Like Obama's Claim To Achievements? by chyz1: 9:17pm On Oct 31, 2010
Speaking of Edo with a population of less than 4 million, It baffles me how the Nigerian map conveys the state as bigger than every SE state in nigeria. However our population is way higher. I learned about map manipulation in grade school so I know along with other reasons that this is indeed a false representation of how big our SE states really are. Its such a shame and they wonder why we want to leave nigeria.

Religion / Re: Muhammed Teachings About Shaitan (Satan). . .Just Too Hilarious! by chyz1: 8:37pm On Oct 31, 2010
Sweetnecta:

If Shaytan too Jesus on a wild ride to the edge of a cliff, and tell him to jump, should anyone, especially a christian be quick to say the Messenger of Allah is not just in his warning of the Muslims? SHould any of the warning be construed as superstition?

Here is there God.The Yahweh Who came on earth to defeat everything started out by being "CARRIED" to the edge of a cliff?
Was it physical carrying as a man will carry his wife? Was it mind carrying that by suggestions Jesus followed the order of Shaytan in his heart even until he got to the edge of the cliff that he now begins to remember he was wife Yahweh, or Yahweh or son of Yahweh?

Either condition diminishes Jesus as even a true Prophet of God, though the Christian calls him God. And either condition elevates Shaytan as the one in control between the two. Alhamdulillah that am a muslim. If I were not, but a christian, that verse is completely enough to run me out of it. I can not worship a God that looks like me, insignificant to the Universe, and definitely not the one that Satan is able to play as it did Jesus of the Bible.

But many people, including all the muslims on nairaland, me included are waiting for Tonye-T to tell us his proof of how any of the ahadith is superstition.

Essalm alaykum,

Before I get to what we were talking about earlier. I don't know where the whole Jesus is god thing comes from. Jesus never said he was God and he definitely never said that he came to die for our sins. I dare anybody to show me where JESUS said that in the Bible. Satan cannot temp God.God is the one who satan asks permission from.So its like saying satan asked God for permissionn to temp God. Makes no sense at all.

Now about the hadith. Don't get me wrong, it has some helpful things in there but at the same time a lot of that stuff has nothing to do with what God put forward in the Quran. A lot of that stuff is just ritual. A lot of it is also Arab culture, things that theyve practice even before the first verse of the Quran was give to the Messenger by Angel Jibril(gabriel). I think that the hadith should be kept separate from Islam as a religion and a believe because frankly if it is not written in the Quran then it aint the real deal.

Also if Tonye-T explains to you that it is superstition you wouldn't believe him because it is already instilled in your head that it is not. However, if you open your eyes and are ready to look outside the box then you may begin to see it in a different way. I mean just read it,you can't tell me that that stuff doesn't sound like child's play. Everything is in the Quran, science, you name it. It is complete and does not need to be strengthened by any hadith. All of the extra stuff you mentioned above are by your own will not Allah if it isn't in the Quran then he didn't permit it even if those rituals/practices have become dear to you.

excanny, this just shows that there is little difference between yorubas and igbos. why don't they unite!!!!

Its because of the amalgamation. The yorubas need their breathing room, the Igbo need their breathing room, once this is achieved we can then be united as Africans(brothers).

If you go into Ariaria market and ask who the current President of Ohaneze is, most can't tell you.

[s]The kind of crap Andrew Uweh spews here is out of this world[/s]. Not everybody prefers Ohaneze to think for them ok?

Go and get a regular job ok? [s]or you come back home and do Ohaneze lets see, you think it is to stay in London and collect money from unsuspecting Igbos who are feeling home sick?[/s] Go find a regular job!!!!!!!!!!

You must not be aware of the power of public relations. Ohanaeze, whether the people in Ariaria market know the president of Ohanaeze or not, can mobilize in Igbo land and hold outdoor conventions all over Igbo land and by the end of those gatherings millions would mobilize to vote GJ. Mind you the election is now in April so they have a lot of convincing time.

@Chyz1: « #166 on: Today at 05:14:10 AM »Whoever advised you didnt do a good job. It is from Ahadith that the numbers of Rakah of each salah is noted. With your statement that you hear the breathing of Devil, it is absolutely insincerity to assume that Satan is not as the Messenger (AS) said he is. If you have any proof against it, please tell us, since you hear the breathing of Satan, youmay just ask him which is which, the correct ones or all of them lies. Then I know that you are actually with satan, he breathing on you heavily.

Do you hear nonsense that comes out of the hadith? I don't need the "messenger" to tell me how satan is when I have my Quran with me. Since it was not promised protection like Allah promised protection for the Quran how do you know that it is the Prophets own authentic words? So your saying the Quran is incomplete? That you need a hadith to learn how to be a muslim? Question what if no hadith was created would Islam not be as great? Your honest opinion please. And the line of "the devil is alive i can feel him breathing" is from a song .Don't look to much into it.

why is it forbidden and against many laws of nations where christianity dominates?

By the way this is a good Video on Youtube, Titled 'Israel Secret Weapon part 2'

Because europeans have indirectly instilled their cultural beliefs in into christianity as the arabs did Islam. There is alot of this both christians and muslims do which they say is of their religion;however, the Boble and Quran never permitted it.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Do Muslims Speak In Tongues? by chyz1: 5:23am On Oct 31, 2010
Tongues just mean speaking in your own native language. It was done in the Bible the same way we do it today. When we are in a foreign land and he one of our brothers we speak in tongues(native tongues) so that others will not know what we are saying.hence, the "devil"(meaning our enemies).
