Abacha was a good president. Just because yorubas were getting dealt with because of their senseless acts doesn't mean we should follow them and hate Abacha. This were in much better condition during Abacha's time. |
It's funny that Jonathan's advisors are out to make him look like a fool but he is still yet to notice. The Federal University of Agriculture,Umudike was changed the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike back in 2000. If anything Obasanjo would be the one to thank neing that he was president at the time. What a fraudulent move by the Jonathan Administraton.smh. |
Unilag: Jonathan writes NASS to ratify name On June 7, 2012 · In News 4:22 am..EmailTweet By Henry Umoru, Emman Ovuakporie & Inalegwu Shaibu ABUJA—PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, sent a bill to the Senate and the House of Representatives seeking endorsement to rename the University of Lagos, UNILAG to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos. It would be recalled that Jonathan had in his Democracy Day broadcast changed the name of University of Lagos to its new name, Moshood Abiola, in recognition of the late politician and business icon’s role in entrenching democracy especially against the backdrop that he died in the course of fighting for democracy. Also included in the Bill for Acts to rename three universities by the President were the change of the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and Federal University of Technology, Yola to Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola. The letter which was read at the plenary by Senate President David Mark stated: “I forward here with, for your kind consideration and passage into law, the attached Bills for Acts to rename three Federal Universities as indicated below. “Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike; Federal University of Technology, Yola to Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola and University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos. “It is my hope that the Distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will consider and pass these Bills in your usual expeditious manner.” Also yesterday, President Jonathan sent to the Senate a Bill for an Act to amend the Public procurement Act, No.14,2007. The President also, yesterday, forwarded to the Senate a Bill for an Act to provide for the enforcement and punishment of crimes against humanity, war crimes, genocide and related offences, 2012. In the letter to Senate President Mark, President Jonathan said, ‘’I hereby introduce for the kind consideration and enactment into law by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, A Bill for an Act to Provide for the Enforcement and Punishment of Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes, Genocide and Related Offences, 2012. ‘’While I hope that the Bill will receive the usual prompt attention of the Distinguished members of the Senate, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/06/unilag-jonathan-writes-nass-to-ratify-name/ |
Shield who from what? SHe has nothing to do with what happened. We can all agree that she is the best Aviation ministerin a very long while. If anything, she would have to watch out for jonathan making her an escape goat for his wife's actions which caused the accident. |
Beaf: Abiola's greatest legacy is the democracy we are now enjoying.Shut your dirty mouth you opportunist. Abiola brought democracy to whom? You are here talking about democracy(for the people,by the people) yet your Oga disregarded the people completely, and still is, when it came to the renaming of UNILAG. That is a dictorial move. |
uba@_onye:Think abt it brother. He's trying to make it seem as if he is immortilizing former regional leaders. If M.I>. Okpara has already been immortilized through a university then it defeats the purpose and reveals that jonathan is just trying to fix his screw up. |
Michael Okpara University already exists. WHat a big fraud! You are not immortilizing anything. Why cant this dumbo,GEJ< admit is wrong doing and just leave UNILAG as it is. SMDH! http://www.mouau.edu.ng/ |
PointB: Succinctly put.MASSOB should be protested against by all Igbo civilians. They do nothing but cause Igbo death in order to use it as a record to gain some so-called biafran dream. bunch of selfish losers(the leaders of the group i mean). |
Onlytruth: Ok. Here is my take.Spon on Eze ![]() |
souldust: my dear, do you need abacha glass or something? I did not mentiona only names i also mentioned words. What about those words are they islamic also? The is absolutely NO connection between Idoma and Hausa. As for the words, go back and read your statement. Talking abt political power, the Idoma have no political power so what are you talking about? Please dont get ahead of yourselves. The Tivs even rule you people in your own state. Forget similarities between Igbo and Idoma any body will notice it when they come across them. The connect is even deeper than similarities it is also by blood. Go learn your history. |
What a dumb way of trying to correct his screw-up. He decides to do this after his move is resisted. It's evident that the change of the other university names is recent, maybe as recent as yesterday. |
Police arrest suspected OPC leader On June 6, 2012 · In News 2:00 am..EmailTweet By EVELYN USMAN IKEJA—Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, said it had arrested a suspected leader of the outlawed Odua Peoples Congess, OPC, over Monday’s attack on a congregation of Hausa in the Idi-Araba area of the state. The invaders, it was gathered, attacked the worshippers with broken bottles, cutlasses and other weapons during their evening pray The attack may however, not be unconnected with the attack of Southerners in the northern parts of the country. Residents of Idi-Araba, Vanguard learnt, fled their homes to avoid a repeat of the February 2002 ethnic conflict between the Yoruba and Hausa, which led to loss of lives and wanton destruction of property . Spokesman for the Command, Mr Joseph Jaiyeoba, who confirmed the arrest, added that policemen were on ground and patrolling the area while efforts were on to arrest the fleeing hoodlums. ”Investigation is in progress at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/06/police-arrest-suspected-opc-leader/ |
16 killed, 83 injured as security operatives raid MASSOB offices Wednesday, 06 June 2012 00:00 From Uzoma Nzeagwu , Awka. News - National A COMBINED team of the police, army and other security operatives yesterday killed about 16 members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and injured 83 others as they raided the offices of the group in the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State and its environs. Also arrested during the raid that lasted from Monday night to yesterday morning were over 500 members of the group, including women at different locations in the state. The MASSOB National Director of Information and the Onitsha Region Four Administrator, Uchenna Madu and Chief Arinze Igbani, who briefed reporters over the incident, declared that the raid on their offices by the security operatives was unwarranted and provocative, saying that it was a renewed plot by the army to resume a systematic clampdown on MASSOB. Madu said : “At about 5 p.m., a detachment of security operatives, numbering over 50, allegedly broke into MASSOB office along ‘Pam Pam’ lane at the Onitsha Main Market. They vandalized the office, set the Biafran flag ablaze and then ordered all those in the neighbourhood to lie down in the flood.” He also alleged that the team invaded MASSOB’s central office along Kilometre Seven , Owerri Road, Onitsha where a security meeting of the movement was holding and opened fire on the people, arresting and killing some of the members on the spot. The team also allegedly made away with the bodies of the dead persons. The MASSOB leaders urged the immediate and unconditional release of all its members that were arrested or they be arraigned in court. They also urged security operatives to stop further attacks on MASSOB offices, and that they should respect the sanctity of the Biafran flag. “MASSOB is non-violent, we have assisted the security operatives in fishing out criminals especially in Onitsha where we have handed over 15 notorious armed robbers and car snatchers to the police”, he said. They appealed to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Azubike Ihejirika and the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar to call their men to order, suggesting that the state Commissioner of Police and the Onitsha 302 Army Commander should always contact the MASSOB leaders whenever they thought they were going beyond control. When contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Chukwuemeka, confirmed the operation but noted that he was yet to be officially briefed on the number of arrests and casualties recorded. http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=88411:16-killed-83-injurednas-security-operatives-raid-massob-offices-&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |
Beaf: ^The nation is in morning everyday. Have some dignity for once. People are being mercilessly killed throw bombings and gunfire by boko haram every single day. Yes, the "nation" has been morning EVERY DAMN DAY! The only means of comfort your boss can seem to come up with is "Condemnation" or "Prayer". He is a president for god's sake. Does he not have more power than the average person or begger on the road? The deaths of people are regarded as a regular thing. This is disgusting. Please, dont come at me with your fake act of sincerety because you definitely have none. Don't let greed consume. Tell your oga to forget his second term bid and focus on saving lives. |
Beaf: Enjoy your pathetic life mate, on any decent forum, you would have been banned long ago for defaming public individuals and spreading falsehoods. The more you make idiotic posts as the above the more you take votes away from yourjonathan's next election. IF you are going to do your job as an S.A. of New Media than do it right and smartly. Another advice in helping you oga out is to let the people know that you all under his administration can admit when mistakes(YOUR mistakes)are made. You should know this. This is another way of gaining the people's sincerety.Be smart. |
ozoebuka1: i think its high time d yorubas joined the igbos to eradicate these vampires from da north called hause..hahahahaI think is high time you shut your mouth and allow the yorubas to handle their own problems.Don't involve Igbo in any of this,super-save-a-hoe. |
The way you people let hausas continue to fight you with big blow in your land is really amusing yet you dey Igbo and try to cover things up. Misplaced priorities go kill you people. |
Onlytruth: This question has bugged my mind for weeks and months now. It has got to the stage that I cannot sleep well at nights while pondering this question. I remember vividly how we lobbied (at least added our voices) to the appointment of Anyim Pius Anyim to the position of Secretary to the Federal Government. There are such other Igbo personalities now as Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and others. I would not be exaggerating if I say that we hold strategic positions in this government.Brother, I hope you now understand why I've been throwing dirty on jonathan. He is not in it for us. The projects such as Enugu having an international airport, 2nd niger bridge, and a seaport will never be completed and fully functional but will instead be used as a bargaining tool for jonathan's presidency in 2015. I will not say to much, and dont ask how i know, but Jonathan and some PDP rascals are working on bringing forth a candidate, who is of Urhobo origion, as the PDP candidate for Governor of Delta state for the 2015 election, it is not Great Ovedje Ogboru btw. He is no different than the rest. The Minister of Aviation has nothing to do with why Ibiam Airport was not included in the upgrades. She could only take orders. But, this doesn't mean she cant make noise but she would also need the SE political idiots* to back her. |
dumb thread. |
mpumalanga: Don't blame ASARI.Igbos and yorubas should look back to know what wentThe same way jonathan will be looking back in 2015,right? |
What a greedy fool. So former governors will own everything in Rivers state buinesses, land et al? Imagine how many ouse these thieves presently have in the state. Pension and medical coverage is not good enough? Funny chap. |
Dumb thread. |
Because you're a fagg like Atiku. |
I hope he's talking about running track. |
Beaf: Akpabio, Amaechi and Chime will also be ready in 2015 if GEJ does not pitch his hat in.Funny. What happened to Rochas you PDP bigot? What is the difference between Tinubu and Jonathan except jonathan looted more money?Akpabio ready for what? Amaechi is planning to be Vp to Atiku. I dey laugh. |
wow big news ![]() |
souldust: idoma and igbos are not one and never be one! It cannot happen lai lai.No Idomas do not have more in common with the hausa than the Igbo. Hausa land is nowhere near Idomaland so get your facts straight. Those names you mentioned are not HAUSA names but muslim names. Please behave yourself and go pick up a book and read. |
I needed this laugh. |
ibide: Urhobo's are the real delta state . So we need our own state then give one to ijebu or ibadan take anioma to join south east izon of delta to join bayelsa itsekiri to join ilaje of ondo stateBout the Urhobo, this is how you all can get you own state without much ado, your politicians help campaign for creation of Anioma State and for it to go to the SE and at the same time, help the ijaw campaign for toru-ebe state which would take the ijaw and and itsekiri out of delta state. Even if the Itsekiri was to magically not end up in torub-ebe state they are only afew thousand of them. Delta STate would now be an Urhobo state. No sweat. |
wesley80: Oops is my apologies. Come u young raschal hope you know I'm not your mate either abi you want make I knock ya head? ![]() |
